Reasonably priced. Very clean

Noise from upstairs during the night was disruptive. No bedside lamps which was unacceptable as I had to get up and turn the room light on and off.

Just an average motel.

Avonlodge motel

Run down, no curtains over the windows.

Value for money as cheap and cheerful. Clean & tidy. Staff were helpful when we needed extra flannels. No noise. Would love to go back when the pool is back in service. Easy to find and only an $18 Uber ride to Eden Park for the concert,

This property has false advertising. It shows a nice pool with seating, but the pool was empty, and appears to have been for some time. Outdoor area very shabby, and there was a large dog next door which barked if it saw you. Front desk stated no pets. Unit was very clean and comfortable, but no air conditioning.

Clean room Complex a bit run down

The bathroom hadn't been cleaned. There was hair on the bathrrom floor. The shower head fitting had been fixed with one screw and when the water splashed back onto and under the shower the mold and gunk which hadnt been cleaned for years streamed out. The toilet roll holder fell off the wall. Im disappointed our traditional motels are been run down by "new management"

Clean and comfortable, not particularly handy if you dont have a car but walkable to the train station

Was pretty good for the price. There are some permanent residents at this motel which is worth pointing out. The parking out back is limited and difficult to get out of if you do discover no parking (check on foot first). Staff were nice. Had everything we needed. There was a party next door all night, not the motels fault though. Wish there had been air conditioning, quite hot.

Overall the property was adequate. Property had a lot of permanent stayers, parking was tight space was OK for 1 night.

Room was clean but there seem to be people living long term here in the room next to mine who had a dog. They stayed up all night making noise. Had trouble sleeping due to noise. Wouldn’t recommend.

Very good

The unit was so bad we didn’t stay there at all. It’s the worst accommodation I have ever experienced period. Dirty, ants everywhere, no toilet paper and had a strong stench. I could go on. The smell alone was enough for my wife and I to agree we didn’t want to spend 10 mins there never mind two nights that we had paid for. We be asking for a full refund. An absolute disgrace.

It was exactly as expected and is great value for money. Just one small issue, they need to vacuum under the bed as clearly this had not happened for a long time.

Unfriendly staff

Property is close to many amenities. Free parking, desk service was great on arrival. It says free wifi but we didnt get any pin, tried calling but no answer. I recommend leave wifi code in the room if it is free, i shouldn't have to ask for it. Toilet was rocky, its probably the wear and tear should be fixed before someone gets hurt. Thats my take. Thank you.

Very noisy in the day but after 10 it was good. We should have been told it is being used for emergency housing. I few things need to be looked at block out curtains need to be on doors not neats, and some of the plates were dirty. Other than that it was good. Cleaning lady was very nice.

Pleasnt staff, clean units

The staff were friendly and helpful, but was not aware that the motel was used for social housing and was noisy.

Good location, we needed a place to stay while coming up to see P!NK in concert at Eden park as there was no hotels in the city left. Is quiet an old motel, smells funky, like it needs a deep clean. Neighbours were noisy (partying) if we had come with our kids this would have been a big no no. Was ok since we got in at 11pm. And checked out at 9am.. that was an easy $300 for the motel owners.

They said my room had a kitchen but it only had a microwave. There were msd funded people staying there clearly druggies. Someone tried my door at 2 am woke me up when i got out of bed they ran away. The parking was hopless had to do a 15 point turn to get out. When i arived at the parking it was full and i had to do a very dificult back out damaging my bumper on there fence getting out of the car park. I will never stay there again

Lovely Place

The Host is very accommodating and made sure that my needs were met.

Was exactly like it looks in the pictures, and was very close to where our event was held

I liked it was exactly how it stated in the review the team were nice ,the place looked aas it did in the pictures it was clean the price was reasonable id go there again ,

There was no hot water either in the evening nor first thing in the morning. It was only just above cold. I went to inform management at reception and was only spoken to over an intercom with no apology or solution offered. Things go wrong sometimes, that accepted, but to fully ignore it when it's brought to your attention is extremely poor

Could do with extra pillows. Otherwise clean and tidy.

It had a little kitchenette, which we did not use, but that would have been convenient for others. One washcloth for two is likely not sufficient, a little more shampoo for two would’ve been lovely. I think newer, softer pillow would be nice.

It was fine for a night but the towels were old, small and thin. There weren’t enough pillows and the cups were tiny. Decor is old and tired.

It was good and clean

The room was very clean, however the stairs to office and also to room on upper level were hard with a suitcase. The curtains were very light and in poor condition. I was also disappointed not to get any milk when I checked in or in my room. The only lock on the entrance was a ranchslider catch which I didnt feel completely secure with.

Booking the motel and arriving there was an easy process.

Handy to West Auckland and Central city

Tidy and quiet unit. Was perfect for a one night stay visiting friends who lived nearby.

The check-in was easy and a pleasant welcome - the room was clean and as expected.

Ideal location for us. Neat tidy rooms. Building a bit tired, but think management seems to be addressing this. I’d be happy to stay there again,

Avondale

Our stay was wonderful. Only trouble was it had a microwave, but no bowls or anything you could cook in to put in the microwave. Needs a bowl at least if not 2? Also no grater available, and only 1 sharp knife, could have done with a vege knife as wel.. Other than that, service excellent, staff very polite chatty and friendly. Good customer service

Good location to the conference I was attending. Close to markets & shops.

Swimming pool out of action, wifi didn't connect, only two pillows and rock hard, only 9 channels on tv and three of those were the same station

Our unit was modern and perfectly clean. There was plenty of free parking and you couldn't even hear the traffic from the main road. It was lovely.

Overall clean and tidy room. Good hot showers. We had a room located upstairs. Ask for downstairs room with mobility is an issue. Rooms located off the road, so quiet place to stay. Easy off street parking. Helpful staff. Overall good, place to stay. thanks

AvondaCloasle Motor Inn

We chose the Avondale Motor Lodge because it was close to family living in New Lynn The neighbourhood was very rundown and untidy and there were guests staying there as part of their social welfare benefit. The room was small ,clean and had been recently refurbished but there was very few utensils etc in the kitchenette. The manager was helpful enough , but came to ask us to leave five minutes after the departure time just as we were ready to vacate the room. We thought it was overpriced compared to other accomodation that we had looked at in Auckland. I cannot recommend it as a pleasant place to stay

Good location for what we were doing. Didn't like the bedding we found in the room, the beds had a sheet and a mink blanket that was it, no other cover for the bed

Convenient one night stay

Rooms are at the rear of the property away from the busy main road. Room was a convenient size and had been modernised. Good shower.

Very quiet with the bird sounds to wake up to. Would stay again when in West Auckland.

Spend you money elsewhere

Arrived and waited for 10 minutes before given any service.Staff had no idea about my reservation. Place looked pretty run down. Room OK but bathroom not properly cleaned. Temp of shower varied from scalding to cold with no adjustment of mixer.Bag of Rubbish (not mine) left outside of door when I returned following night. Awoken but below room occupant in a very intoxicated ( and probably stoned) state Yelling and screaming obscenities at top of voice. Nothing done by staff to control the occupant. Quite frankly i wouldn't feel safe staying here ever again.

Was very clean and great room however facilities as per website weren’t available ie swimming pool empty, no guest laundry.

Basic motel, but good location for us. Honest staff who found my cellphone charger. Much appreciated. Thank you.

Only choice in the area?

The room was disappointing. Enough space but not all beds were fully made with sheets for the number of people they knew were coming and it was a bit light on duvet's for the winter months. The door lock was almost impossible to open and lock, carpet was stained, bath plug didn't fit, cockroach on the wall and general feeling of a tired and under-maintained motel.

Hotel close to New Lynn RSA where we went to

Hotel is easy to find, very close to a main shopping centre, the hotel is always very clean and tidy

Excellent budget friendly accommodation

We stayed as a family of 5 for 5 days and were very impressed. The staff were absolutely lovely, the apartment was very spacious, had excellent amenities and was spotlessly clean. We would absolutely stay here again.

Room to small. Not good for elderly people with luggage to climb outside stairs.

Rather cramped and uninspiring

We stayed here because the price was reasonable (for Auckland!) and we were attending a hockey game at the nearby ice rink. The motel itself, while clean and quiet and certainly not objectionable, was unimpressive: the room and the parking lot were both quite cramped, and the staff, while competent, were not particularly friendly (which is surprising for NZ, where we found people to be extremely nice overall). Staying here for one night was okay, but it wouldn't be at all comfortable for a longer stay.

Handy location to New Lynn

Nice clean room, helpful staff, not sure if recently redecorated but there was absolutely non of the usual hotel info in the room like office hours, laundry location, general motel info, no emergency location info, etc...

staff friendly on arrival. reception open till late, which was great. However, when we arrived in evening after day at work and long drive - sofa bed was not made up. No dishcloth provided in kitchenette. Very cold on first night even with heater.

Family friendly

A large warm and comfy unit made it a very easy place to stay with a family of 5

Internet made it look better than it was. Room was clean enough but sheets and towels worn and stained.

Avondale Motor Inn

I rented a two bedroom unit for myself, my daughter and her friends (they were going to a concert). The rooms was very clean and tidy. It was great to have two bedrooms for four teenage girls (they all ended up sleeping in the same room). A couple of minor issues * We had to ring reception to get the Wifi password * There were five of us booked in, but only four towels when we arrived. * Literature about what is available in the area would have nice (ie takeaways, Avondale market) * Angle of entry to back carpark is very tight The motel is within walking distance of the Avondale Market; I wish that the lady at check-in told us or maybe had some literature about the market (or any literature about what's available in the area) in the room. I didn't know until we were driving down the road. We could have gone to the market, but we didn't because we couldn't find a carpark. The room was very reasonably priced, clean and had everything we needed. I would recommend this motel to anyone who needs to stay in this area.

Good value for money if your on a budget. Would stay again if I had to.

Ok nothing special

Despite being on a busy road, very quiet, except for other quests! Room itself- comfy bed, small tv with sky, tea and coffee facilities and roomy bathroom. Towels were tatty.

Business stay

Friendly staff, clean room, great shower, only thing that spoilt the stay was the people in the room below smoked outsidectheir room and the smoke drifted into my room when i opened the door.
