An excellent place to stay in the centre of Madrid.
The room was excellent. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower in the bathroom was amazing! The staff at reception, especially Rene, were very friendly informative, and helpful with every interaction. Would absolutely stay again
Best hotel in Madrid centro
Best hotel ever in Madrid super comfortable super clean the best always
Very clean and modern hotel room, has everything you need. Also very ideal area close to metro
Overall was excellent. The only thing is that the mini fridge was too noise during the night and I couldn’t sleep. Also I could hear people on the corridors. Rather than that, the staff was lovely, the look was contemporary and cool. Everything was clean. I will be back.
Overall, it's a great hotel. My only complaint is that the bathroom has absolutely NO PRIVACY. It has a sliding glass door with the toilet right next to it—yes, you can see the silhouette and hear everything.
Funky decor, clean room, nice bathroom, excellent location. I wish the breakfast had been a little cheaper.
One of my worst experiences. Two big issues: The room smelled of cigaret smoke and the people were really noisy, never seen anything like it before. At all hours of the night and multiple times, yelling, throwing things and slamming doors! Never again!
The rooms advertised are the best ones, which are significantly better than the ones provided by the hotel. My room had no view of anything (wall), and the tv was on a sharp angle away from the bed, making any tv watching very uncomfortable. The rooms' walls are extremely thin so any outside noise will prevent you from getting a good night's sleep. Do not recommend this place for the money you pay.
Great location near shops and restaurants. Top notch accommodations in a central safe area.
Clean, nice, private
Good
A lovely hotel in an excellent part of town. Incredibly attentive and kind staff. Will stay here next time I am in Madrid.
Bathtub was not clean..
We requested for a room with a bathtub since we love taking a bath after a long day. However, the tub was pretty dirty we didn't want to take a bath.Too bad. Location is good and room very spacious. Nespresso machine was a bonus.
.
Centrally located. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Great decor in the lobby area. Downside, rooms are extremely small and not well represented in the pictures on their website.
Very nice location. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to have a nice experience in Madrid .
An excelent hotel all around, spacious rooms, attentive staff all in a great location just outside historic center, but close enough to walk to it.
Perfect Staff, Perfect Price, Perfect Hotel!
I cannot say enough about this awesome hotel! Clean rooms, comfy beds, great breakfast and AMAZING STAFF!! From the moment we walked in the door each and every one of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! The prices are excellent and this is now our goto place in Madrid!
Gym was closed due to renovation. The breakfast is well worth it and is a must include, particularly if you are not on Spain time for eating.
Great place, great location, large room
Nice hotel with friendly staff.
Excelente location
Great location, lovely staff.
The hotel was been remodeled. Difficult to enter and I was not able to sleet well. Noise at night walk me up.
There was some construction going on at the hotel, that was the only bothersome thing, I’m sure once it’s finished everything will be great. I was very grateful that they allowed me to do an early check in.
Property under renovation both interior and exterior.
Overall was a good experience!! I did not like nobody told me hotel was under construction and just 1 elevador
:)
The staff was not polite. At first in the room there was no air conditioning and told me that it was still winter in April with 78 degrees and we have to open the windows to hear all the noises in the night and could not sleep. 2 terrible nights. Then the next day they told me that there were changing the machines. How could they offer stays without emphasis that they are in remodeling. People go to hotel to rest. So the key is to have a peaceful place.
Very nice hotel, currently with areas under some construction Superb breakfast Would stay again
Overpriced
The location of the hotel was good and the beds were comfy which is the main thing I guess, but the room we had faced the ‘courtyard’ so there was zero light in the room, might as well not had a window at all but I was unaware this was even an option otherwise I would of requested an outside room. The room smelt of sewage which was gag worthy. There was a loud flushing noise going on all night like someone was constantly flushing a toilet which was annoying but overall it was a comfy place to put my head down, glad it was only for one night though and I wouldn’t go back for the price.
Vert quiet but in the center of town. Great shower and breakfast
Great hotel. Clean, spacious and close to some fine bakeries and cafes. Great staff
Marvellous Madrid
We had a wonderful time in Madrid and the hotel was in a great location, close to a metro station and walking distance from the city Center while quiet at night.
Location was perfect. Close to everything but not in the middle of the noisy city/tourist attractions.
Great location, clean room, decent size, a/c ok.
Clean, convenient, affordable and beautiful! My room even had a bathtub. Strong wifi. Cold water at check-in. Rooms are interior facing but if you’re out and about it doesn’t matter. Great hotel and great price.
Great hotel with excellent service
I enjoyed my stay at NH Alonso Martínez. The staff was very polite and helpful. The location of the hotel is great, just one block from Metro and within walking distance from the city center. The room and the bathroom were very comfortable. Nice hotel, great service, and very affordable.
I really like this hotel. but this time they gave me a room on the first floor and was a lot of noise from the street
Nice place to stay near everything in a quiet place. Good breakfast
Near to a metro station. Lots of restaurantes nearby
Every aspect of the stay was excellent. Quick check-in, clean room, good location, easy check-out.
Avoid, avoid, avoid !!
Worn Out Hotel with view in the wall and rude staff
.
Hotel did the basica well and nothing more; clean except for some dust in corners. Biggest problem was the noise - grinding started before 8AM and didnt stop:l; horrible to have as a wake up call on vacation.
Not as described.
I booked and paid for a superior room with balcony, however room was not superior nor did it have a balcony, very disappointing. Shower was poor pressure with spray adjustment not working and no plug for the bath, so could not be used. Breakfast very good and staff pleasant.
Really great hotel for the price, and the location is very connected. Can easily travel around Madrid through the metro (super close) and also walkable to the center. The area in general has many cafes/restaurants and is close to fun areas like Chueca and Malasaña, plus walkable to Gran Vía. Simple, nice, clean room and lobby area.
No air conditioning
Rain in Spain
Good central location close to Metro. Friendly efficient staff. Good value. Clean room and decent shower suitable for a short stay.
Nice location and pretty fair for the the rooms. The also give us and upgrade free of charge
Skip this one and find another.
Very rude staff. Air conditioning didn’t work at all. Staff didn’t help with that. Hasn’t been updated since 1980.
Bring earplugs
Convenient location, decent, but basic room, delicious breakfast, good service, but noisy with poor acoustics from the hallway in particular that kept me up half the night!
Excellent location with easy access to transportation. Decent sized rooms and bathrooms. Daily housekeeping. Safe neighborhood. Couple of things, no body lotion or shower cap provided, so bring your own. There’s a nespresso maker in the common area that staff don’t tell you about. You have to ask for pods and cups each time you want it. There’s also a microwave tucked away in the common area and you have to ask the staff for it’s use.
I would stay here again.
The staff here was beyond friendly! Very accommodating. The hotel is close to everything but not in the midst of everything. I would say most tourist landmarks are like 20-30 min walks. Parking is about a 10 minute walk and it is 20 euros per day.
Decent three star hotel in central Madrid
Clean comfortable room. Sapciosu bathroom. Good wifi. Helpful staff. Great location. Terrible view of internal shaft which detracted from the room.
Wonderful location and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and the hotel overall well maintained.
Good location but hotel needs to improve
I am quite familiar with the NH hotel group and have visited several in Spain. I found this one disappointing. The location is good, however the room was very basic and I missed coffee and tea making facilities in the room. There was a coffee machine provided on the ground floor but this was only available for a few hours a day and the hot water was not available. I was told to use the microwave to heat water (in a four star hotel?). The breakfast was not so good and not worth almost €19 per person. If you compare with NH Malaga the selection and quality was not good at all. Also, the staff need to smile more at the reception.
Great area but needs refurbishment
The rooms are Nothing like the photos On hotels.com. The first room we were given was disgusting. We asked to be moved and the room was much better. The area though is perfect and convenient.
a little dated for an NH hotel
A little dated compared with other NH hotels in my opinion.I was given a smoking room (didn't realise any hotels allowed smoking in the room these days - yuck). Smelled quite yucky. Two singles pushed together and made up as singles (when I had booked a proper double). Bathroom fine, but dated.
Location was excellent Breakfast was great and well stocked Reception staff were friendly and efficient.
There were infused water (with orange, mint leaf, lime,...) right by the entrance which is very refreshing to have after walking around in a hot day.
Very helpful in getting a reservation onsite
Champions league final stay
It was a clean hotel with lovely staff. Breakfast buffet was excellent. I would go back.
Very clean, polite and helpful staff and fabulous breakfast!
Nice Situation and very nice and clean rooms. Very Happy!
Nothing special .
I got a room with a window facing a wall at 1mt distance, it didn’t look like according to European normative .. hotel was ok ,a bit old but clean. Bath / shower got water stuck. Staff at check out was kind , rather than that quite unfriendly. Hotels website marked it as a 4 stars hotels, which is a bit confusing during booking if level doesn’t match with actual one. Anyway I wouldn’t go back. I was expecting a bit more for a NH, especially considering price .
All was amazing only one thing that some places smell as humidity
This is a really nice, small hotel. My room was really comfortable and spacious. My only negative would be that it was very dull (it faces a courtyard) so I felt the lighting in the room could have been better but overall I was really pleased. I asked if there was any chance of a gluten free breakfast and was delighted that every morning a very smiley member of staff brought me some freshly warmed gluten free bread. Great service
Very centrally located and in a beautiful old building, but ultimately a poor value. The room is small and barren, with little lighting and no drawers. The bathroom is large, but with no counter space to place your things. The heat was never turned on, so the room was always cool to cold. This room is fine at $90/night but at $175/night, I would have expected more room, better furnishing and more comfort overall.
Small rooms. great location. Expensive. Not worth it.
surprised with the quality
it was my first time with the NH chain, I came with lower expecations, room is small compare with the standard American hotel room but funcional very clean
Well equipped rooms in a hotel next to the metro
The hotel is very close to a metro station and 10 minutes stroll from Cheuca, with cafes on a square nearby.
A smart and friendly hotel in a good location
A smart and friendly hotel in a good location - only one metro change from the airport, and not too long on foot to the Mercado San Anton, Chueca, and even to the south side of the Gran Via.
Excelent
Great location and excellent service
Clean lines, friendly staff, well-designed room with all you need, plus air conditioning (which you need in Madrid in the summer!) AND A BATHTUB, which was truly a delightful surprise. It's a nice haven in the middle of a great area, close to Chueca, easy walk to Prado or Gran Via or Sorolla museum. Delicious cafes nearby, and just steps away from Metro. When I was there it was more business customers than tourists, which was actually pleasant.
Great place to stay while in Madrid
We had a great time while staying here. The front desk was friendly and very helpful.
Great stay in madrid
Checkin was fast and I asked for the map and direction. The staff member was very nice sbd explained everything I should know. Also recommend me where to walk because of the ongoing events. Very thoughtfull. Room was big and airey. Not a small room! Bed was hard which was perfect for me. I would book here again and can highly recommend this hotel!
Great location!
The location of the hotel was great for us - a little quieter than the center, but everything was walkable for us. The room was small and there was very little storage space. We did not take the breakfast and just got coffee and pastries at local cafes. We enjoyed exploring the residential neighborhoods around the hotel.
Overpriced experience
DO NOT STAY HERE The cost of this hotel does not match the service. The rooms are tired and in need of renovation. When we arrived the room had a strong smell of bleach, there was little ventilation and it became unbearably humid after taking a shower. We had to move rooms. No water was provided in the room so you are obliged to spend four euro on a small bottle of water. No apology was offered for all of the problems.
Great location and 5 star customer service. The bed is too small, the room is too small
Excelent staff
The staff was super helpful and kind, always there to assist you. Very nice breakfast also
Decent mid range NH Hotel in good location
Good location top end of Malasaña. Decent value and helpful staff. Uncomfortable beds the only real downside
Good location
Clean and good amenities. Spacious room. Neighborhood quiet but adjacent to metro and walkable to many areas of interest. Breakfast outstanding. Worth the 18 euros. Coffee and snack service in afternoons a great touch. Only drawback is that you can hear people in hallways loudly or if they are walking with shoes in their rooms. However this is true of most mid-priced European hotels. I’d definitely stay here again.
Excellent location and lovely place to stay
Madrid is one of my favourite destinations. this hotel make my stay even better. So closed to everything with walking distance and very high standards.
Good hotel but disappointed bar not open when we arrived at 8.30 in the evening. Quite a good location
Close to shopping walkable metro!! Busses near. Ghdvbbbbbnnmndxvx
Solid hotel great location
Rooms small, but clean. Bathroom good, linen good, realtively quiet, good air con , blackout drapes Cleaning staff and desk staff great Breakfast a bit iffy I stay at this hotel every year. I will continue to do so. Strong recomendation.
excellent business hotel
comfortable room, nice bathroom, great service. Location was perfect (business trip)
Definitely recommend!
Staff, location and room generally were all excellent! Very minor complaint is that the room itself was quite dark, not much natural light.
It is in a very authentic and interesting part of
Nice hotel with interesting location which is central but slightly more private as well
The hotel is really nice. The only downfall was their A/C wasn't turned on yet so the rooms were very hot. The staff were all so nice and accommodating.
My room had a blocked view with no lights.
Convenient and clean hotel
Was staying on business, good hotel, nothing fancy but clean and in a good location, would stay again.
Great location, excellent service
Wonderful hotel with excellent staff.
