We stayed 2 nights in a king studio room. The room is spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Clean and well maintained room and good quality furniture, fittings etc. with a calming outlook into a central garden area. Recommendations on their website for local breakfast and dinner options were spot on. Highly recommended as a place to stay.

The rooms are always very well presented and quiet despite being just walking distance from the Centre City. Its a very restful stop with stunning mature rhododendrons. On site EV charger.

There is no soundproofing between floors. I could hear the person in the room above moving around at all times, and I could hear the alarm clock going off at 530 a.m. every 15 minutes for 3/4 of an hour. I was so very grumpy after three nights of this.

Was a great place to stay

I needed to travel to a medical appointment in Dunedin. It was decided that staying overnight in Dunedin was a good idea. We stayed in one of the ground floor accessible studios. I was able to have an early check in which was fab The room was stunningly clean! As an ex motel cleaner i can almost certainly find something thats not up to scratch.... not the case this time!! Your staff did a fabulous job. The large (King?) bed was really comfortable and had great linens including a comfortable pillow. The accessible shower was the cherry on top. After a long day it was great to be able to have a nice hot shower and then relax into bed. We had a lovely sleep and left early the next morning as happy campers. I will definitely be staying here again. This motel was safe, clean, cosy and well appointed. The staff we met at check in were cheerful and helpful. My only gripe was i forgot to visit Tax the resident dog ☺️

We had to book a room at the last minute due to personal emergency. It was graduation week and our usual place was booked out. They recommended coming here. This motel was Great value for money. We managed to snag the last room for $209.00. Staff couldn’t be more friendly, helpful, welcoming! The guy behind the desk was awesome!! Room was a bit smaller than what we normally get (booked studio) but that’s really being picky. Couldn’t fault otherwise- really clean, everything so functional, bed really comfortable, great shower & bathroom and great environmental approach. Even had a small composting container for scraps, free wifi, sky on tv. Room overlooked courtyard- really pretty well kept garden. Free parking. Location great. We walked everywhere- city and hospital 13 minute walk. Couldn’t fault.

Splendid stay in Dunedin

Bed was extremely comfortable and we loved dinner at Buddha Stix next door

So much potential but second time staying and could not stop sneezing at the dust, different room, same problem, rooms need a deep clean, air con unit sounded like a jet plane taking off, same with the bathroom fan, had to turn off aircon to stop sneezing from the dust unless it was pulling in some kind of pollen from outside? Nice staff, comfortable bed. Small TV for size of room.

Excellent motel! Comfy bed, warm and modern. Nothing was a hassle! I had to extend my stay last minute as my husband had surgery and ended up needing to stay in hospital longer and they were very accommodating and helpful! 5 minute drive to mercy hospital which was great so not too far away from where my husband was. Would definitely stay here again. The only thing i didnt like was the people staying in the room above me stomping around like elephants throughout the night woke me with a fright several times but this isnt anything on the Excellent motel or staff

I have stayed here several times and the servuce is exemplary. The rooms are beautifully presented and the staff are supportive and friendly. It is a great location with easy access to local amenities.

Checking in was smooth and welcoming. In the room there was welcome biscuits and a letter addressed to my name, outlining some important informations regarding the stay which was very kind and sweet. The cleanliness of the room was a top notch especially the bathroom which was sparkly and spotless. Conveniently located, short walks to the town/uni/botanical garden. Overall very happy with the stay and would love to return for our next trip to Dunedin.

Fabulous accommodation

Beautifully clean accomodation with a lovely garden. We really appreciated all the sustainable options which included recycling and even a food waste bin for the worm farm which I wish every accomodation had available. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Graduation Weekend

In town for a daughter's graduation. Stayed here before & this didn't disappoint. Great location, easy work to Octagen and University.

By the end of the trip, we both rated here as our favorite stay, for the cleanliness, modern decorations, and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. There was welcoming cookies in the room at our arrival. I would recommend this place to anyone who would look a place in Dunedin.

The garden is beautiful, bed was comfy, has everything you need. The toilet was very cramped into a corner next to the shower.

The room was a good size clean and well set up. The bed was comfortable. And the garden courtyard was really nice, a good view from the room. The rooms are not at all sound proof or quiet. I could hear the people above us talking, and quite clearly hear their conversation and their TV. That was disappointing.

Excellent property that’s very well maintained and run by fantastic people. Highly recommended for anyone to stay here.

Fantastic stay at this property. Room was large and well appointed. Even though surrounding streets can be busy with traffic, the room was very quiet.

We absolutely love staying at here! Was out third time coming back and wish we could have stayed longer but just isn’t in the budget. My wee girl loves that there is a bed in the same room as mum and dad and she isn’t a great fan of new places when it comes to sleeping. Will definitely be back!

Peaceful setting with bush and plant covered courtyard in city! Health & wellbeing focus with some inhouse sessions available and access free to a gym. We loved everything about this property except how dark the room was. It felt like we were in a cave. Please don’t get me wrong I would definitely stay there again I would just ask for a lighter room & check it before I move in!!

I love staying at the Aurora and have stayed many times.

It was a fantastic place to stay! Host was really friendly and helpful when we checked in, was centrally located and could walk into town easily to find cafes and restaurants. There is a great Thai restaurant on one end of the property and a really nice cafe on the other. Beds were really comfortable and a great shower. Looking forward to going back one day!

The Aurora on George Street is a lovely place to stay. A modern, well situated hotel, clean and comfortable with a luxurious feel. Special touches like homemade biscuits on the table and outstanding housekeeping make it a wonderful place to stay.

Highly recommend this property. Beautiful furnishings and very clean. Great to see a property which provides personal consumables such as shampoo, body wash etc without the need for single use plastic bottles. Would definitely stay again and have no hesitation in recommending.
