Wonderful place to stay! Perfect location, easy to walk to tons of beautiful shops and fun restaurants. The manager was very responsive - I had a few questions that were answered right away, and also my daughter left some jewelry in the room and he contacted us as soon as the housekeeper saw it and he is going to send it to us - so appreciated and something that doesn’t always happen in big hotels! My only two complaints were that we were unable to change the temperature in the room (they told us to use the knobs on the heating units but we tried that and it didn’t change anything but this could be user error!) and that we didn’t have daily maid service (they may have given it to us if we had asked though - it wasn’t a huge deal for us as we were only there three nights, so maybe ask before booking if that is offered upon request). Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we come back to Quebec City!!

The hotel is walking distance to old quebec city and other attactions. However, no parking spot provided unless parking on the street which need to download an app to pay for the fee.

The hotel is very clean and historical. The plumbing makes noise throughout the hotel when used. The caution I have about this hotel is that we were on the top level, and although we are in good physical shape was not prepared for 3 long flights of circular staircase. Was too much for our stay.

Great property with excellent location. The rooms will require climbing steep stairs and there is no elevator, so not a good option for those with mobility constraints. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable.

This is NOT a hotel. It has been turned into, essentially, just a private lent room with its own door lock. There are no staff. If you need assistance, instructions offer a text number or a phone number. The service for the entity that is the phone number was TERRIBLE and RUDE. If it wasn’t a lockout or other emergency, I was told to email the manager or Orbitz and there was no email available. Parking lot suggested was not available and with no front desk to ask…took us a while to figure out. There are many, many, many stairs in a spiral staircase to get to the upper rooms - no elevator. Mismatched towels. Rough bedsheets. Location was fantastic.

Very cozy place

Very nice property. We were on the 3rd floor. We stayed three nights. The room was very clean and spacious with hardwood floors. There was no contact with the hotel people and no room service. We did have enough towels and didn't need anything so that was ok. Parking is very limited curbside.

Great location and value but old, small unit

The location and price were ideal, and it's a quaint old building but it is old. There were dirty areas, damage to the unit, it's quite small, it takes a while for hot water to come, and it's a small unit. I had to crouch to access the part near the window.

A place to rest while visiting Old Quebec City

The room was in a great location. We found it clean and serviceable, but we would have liked being able to control the heat, to have a stopper in the sink, and to have an opportunity to get extra linen. When we secured the room, we didn’t realize there was no lobby.

Location was perfect for travellers who is visiting Québec, almost all famous attractions are 5-10 minutes distance from here, on top of that it is clean and vast place to stay

Beautiful hotel, very spacious room and view. The location was great, super close to everything. There was no water in the coffee machine or in the refrigerator. Also had to call to get Wi-Fi and to access which was very inconvenient. The heater in the bathroom did not work at all and it was always freezing in there. Aside from that the stay was good.

Great area of Quebec City

Perfect spot to stay if you are travelling to Old Quebec!

This is a fully automated staffless hotel. Nobody will help or serve you. Just contact by email but they will reply more than an hour. There are 3 very old oil heater in the room but not working. Another electric heater also not working. Oct 28, 2024 was 2°C in Old Quebec City. The room temperature maybe drop lower than 18°C. I only stay one night so i didn't call service.

Safe and good location

Parking was difficult and going up the stairs with heavy suitcases was difficult. Other than that, the room was nice and clean and comfortable.

The sink in the washroom was very slow to drain we were surprised they did not make the room up during the day

Nice hotel, room was very clean and bright, bed was very comfortable, great location. As a solo traveler I felt safe.

It was spacious, short distance to restaurants,..but the washroom was so smell bad, and toilet's flash was old and the note on it, asked to hold the flash handle for five seconds.

Excellent location. Check in and communication was good. I didn't realize that it was on the third floor with no elevator - a lot of steps for two seniors. Room was pretty bare and the tv didn't work.

This is an automatic hotel which means no staff or service. We ran out coffee and creamer.

Check in was contactless and so easy. Room was spectacular and very clean!!! It was close to everything! I will not hesitate staying here again!

Good location in old Quebec, but that's where the good stuff stops. For the price paid, you'd expect much better. The negatives: Very small, couldn't swing a cat; No hanging space at all, or any space to even store toiletries; No daily room cleaning; Needs considerable maintenance - bathroom sink clogged, slow to drain; One of the only two bath towels supplied had a long black hair on it (not ours); Door sticks, so need to slam shut and push hard to open; many scuff marks on walls, tiles cracked in bathroom; and very low water pressure. No lift, and very narrowish spiral stairs. For the price, it's not worth it, and there would be better options.

Beware….no elevator and you room could require 3 flights in spiraling stairs

The property is in the historic center across from the parliament and park. Be aware that there are no elevators. Patrons must be able to walk up several flights. You will have a clean and comfortable room however the towels will not be changed until departure. The room will not be cleaned or made up until you leave. The bed was very comfortable and as we were at the top most level it was extremely quiet.

When we first walked into the room, not the toilet, immediately backed up on first usage! Same with the shower. Had to use the plunger repeatedly just to get it the water to drain and we did not use anywhere close to full power. Very disconcerting. Would not recommend to any paying customers. The room itself was quite acceptable.

There was music in the park all night long really loud. I did not like the contactless checkin. I prefer to talk with people.

A bit of a unique situation here - we were supposed to stay at this property, but the manager called and advised that there was an electrical issue that needed to be repaired. They offered use of an apartment at a sister property around the block at no extra cost to us. My rating is purely based of the interaction with the manager and their willingness to resolve the situation with virtually no disruption to our plans. Based on this interaction, and our stay at Hotel Maison Sainte-Ursule I would absolutely look to stay at either property again.

Self check-in property. Easy accessible. Clean room. We stayed at room #1. 5 min walking distance to all attractions and restaurants. Definitely will be back. Would be great if they leave extra towels in the room for the number of days we booked the hotel.

I would have like to know there was no elevator and that I was on the third floor being elderly.

The property itself was a nice old building and kept up pretty well, but the person that was managing the phone calls for the people staying wasn’t answering calls, or getting back, and as the hotel is an unmanned location it’s very difficult to have a problem solved when someone doesn’t get back to you when they lock you out of your room!

The bed was Very Good, the manager of the property was not very great, but very rude on the phone.

First they gave us a different room number 5th floor then on the day we check in they put us in the highest floor attic stairs only no elevator it's not convenient for our little son stairs are too high to get to our room

We enjoyed our stay in the charming, older building. The walk from the parking garage was no problem. Despite the hot weather during our visit, the AC functioned well. Being close to restaurants and shops was a definite plus.

Great location and very neat room. At the center of Old Quebec, and at a nice rate. A bit small but we did not spend much time inside. A balcony would've been great but not a game changer.

Great location and basic needs met. Do not expect extras like lotion, face cloths, etc. Older building due for an update but rooms were clean with working air conditioning.

The hotel is in a walkable and secure area. There a lot of restaurants. The hotel is automatizate, so you need to pay online. There not elevator, but only two floor to going up. I would stay here again.

Very Nice place to stay, quiet

It was ok, but we stay for five days and no towels for 5 days, I called and we get towels the day after.

Pictures as advertised are misleading. The place is under construction on ground floor, causing dust. Stairs going up are very dirty Big room and comfortable beds, but limited amenities. No iron in room, we had to ask for one. Hot water in shower takes long to heat up on main floor. Very basic air conditioning, and No fan in washroom. No front desk or service staff available in building. The price is not reflected in quality. We could have paid a bit more and gotten a much better hotel.

Hotel is very quaint but perfect location. Was perfect for our family. The family Rooms have what you need with two queen beds and small washroom with shower. All was comfortable. We also had adequate shampoo and body wash AND had a hair dryer (many others complained there was no hairdryer but our room came with one). Very walkable to both old Quebec and the less historic district. Very safe and easy self serve check in system. Does not come with daily hotel service and no elevator but we knew that before booking and it was not a problem for us. Would highly recommend.

Convenient location but not worth the price

The inside of the building, especially the walk-up was not clean. The hotel has no service desk or anyone available to help; it’s all virtual so we had no opportunity to leave our bags there before check in or after check out. The room didn’t have any amenities; no hair drier, conditioner, toothpaste, hangers or place to hang up clothes and jackets. Not worth $200 in my opinion.

Support services are very slow and no one is on site. We had issues with the key pad upon arrival. It took 2 hours and the manager finally getting involved to get in our room…in the middle of the night. We then had issues with losing power in the bathroom and all but one plug in the room. It took two days for them to move us to a working room. Otherwise it was a perfect location, very clean, and quiet.

Place was clean and in a great location for walking. Just wish they updated their photo. It is under construction on the first floor. Only 2 towels for a 3 night stay. Other than that no issues

This property is very close to everything happening in Old Quebec. Not a property if u cannot do lots of stairs. Unfortunately we had electricity problems & made for a lot of inconvenience & frustration although when we finally reached the manager he was great

No elevator, but Great location!

Location is great! I stayed with my sister for a night and we appreciated the fact that we were able to walk around the area without using a car. Hotel is very clean, and room is a decent size. However, i found the price ver high, as the TV was not working and the was no elevator in the hotel. I have back pain ( broke my tail bone) and was so challenging for me to walk the stairs to the the 2nd floor. My poor sister had to carry all the languages herself.

A charming boutique hotel.

This was a nice and cozy place to stay and a perfect base to explore vieux Quebec from. The beds and room were very nice, the bathroom was ok. Important to note that you will have no in person service and have to carry your belongings up stairs! We would stay here again.

Beautiful, neat and clean rooms.

Ideally located right in Old Quebec City. It's an old building (they all are....) but in good condition. Good sized room, small but adequate bathroom, comfy bed, Keurig coffee maker and small fridge. Everything you want to see in Old Quebec is literally at your doorstep. It's an "automated" hotel which means there's no on-site staff but you get door codes before you arrive. All worked smoothly.

Cute room, well decorated, clean and comfortable. Very well located. My only complaints: very tiny washroom and definitely missing a hairdryer. Otherwise I highly recommend.

This was a beautiful little room in a perfect location however the room was very small and parking is quite far away. Overall was lovely.

Although the owners were kind we had problems with the reservation. I never receive an email 3 days before arriving so I knew what room I was in or the codes to get in. While standing on the street ready to check in I received an email to confirm my room number and code to get into the room. I was given the wrong information but once I was able to get a hold of the owners we were able to fix the problem. Check out was at 11 but we were locked out by 10:30. If I had know this was self check in I might have stayed somwhere else.

Large clean room for myself and daughter staying overnight in Quebec city. Could not get the heat pump working but the wall heater kept the room warm enough. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Bauhaus decor, super clean and warm. Would have liked a Kuerig, maybe microwave and blowdryer. Far too cold to go out with wet hair! Convenient to all that Old Qubec has to offer. Will stay here on all my trips.

It was okay

This hotel is in a great location and was primarily why we chose it. As some of the other reviews mention, it does have a large spiral staircase leading up to the rooms so it is not a good choice if you have any accessibility concerns. We liked the automated hotel system as it was easy to get to our room and get settled without having to stand in lines. We stayed for a week and were in two different rooms and both were clean with charm. The first room had a very hard bed so we had difficulty sleeping. The hotel was also under construction which we weren’t told about and isn’t mentioned on their website so we were woken up by noise at 5:30 am two days. Due to electrical problems in connection with the construction, we were asked to move to a different room. The second room had a much comfier bed but it had plumbing problems mainly very low water pressure and the toilet wouldn’t always flush. We never received attendance to our rooms so towels were not updated. During the second half of the week, a family was staying there and they let their preteens run around the hotel, yelling, playing games, and jumping until 3:00 am. While this is a parenting issue, it’s difficult because there is no staff on sight to address these kinds of issues so you just have to deal with it. All automated hotels we have stayed in before had 18+ policies to address this. The rooms were cute and it was in a great spot, but with no room attendance and construction, should be discounted.

The property was under renovation. Every where was under dust. Even the washroom vent was in a terrible situation. The property should not be accepting guests under these conditions, at least the renovation is completed. Thank you.

Incorrect information provided

The room was nice and in a great location! However it is notable that the whole place is self check-in and the phone number they provided for 24/7 assistance was not available. We got locked out of our room and had trouble getting in contact with someone to help us.

Facilities were good. However, Expedia told us checkin was 3 pm and we were not expected here before 5. Consequently the provided room code did not work. Also, we were told there was parking. Parking requires you to download Copilote from the municipality, register and somehow become familiar in

The "Auberge de la chouette" is no more. As far as I can tell, the hotel was recently sold to some outfit that will turn it into expensive tiny apartments for rent to gullible tourists. When I made my reservation, it was a historic hotel in the "Vieux-Québec". Two weeks later, when I got there, it had become an automated hotel... No staff, no front desk, no service, no parking. The room was fine, at best. No coffee machine. A noisy small fridge. No window in the room, just an outside door you couldn't open just because. Hot water for the shower? Turn on the tap, wait five minutes. I could go on and on, but why bother, really, it's useless, the "Auberge de la chouette" is gone.

Apparently this property has new owners and we were the first guest. We didn't know when we booked that they are running as a "fully automated" hotel now. We received an email with instructions on how to enter the property using a keypad. There was no staff on site. All of the furniture is brand new. The room was small but well furnished. It smelled of fresh paint. Ther was a queen bed, small side tables, a dorm-sized fridge, armoire, and chair. There is no elevator or parking. Our room was on the 3rd of 4 floors with a small spiral staircase. All in all everything was fine! It was unexpected that it wasnt a full hotel but all went smoothly with the "fully automated" procedure.

The best hospitality experience so far. I loved my stay at the hotel. Location is perfect for old town & coffee/restaurants are 2 mins away. The host family were phenomenal & very accommodating. I will return and recommend others to stay. Breakfast was simple and coffee was really good.

The owners were exceptional. Very helpfull and even gave me their parking spot for free parking. Helped me unload my car to my room. I have never been treated so well in my life.

Everything is good

Was a hard first impression lol we had paid parking but was told no parking from the First Lady we saw when entering and then was finally told we had parking from the second lady (probably the owner) and the front door was locked when we got there had to call the hotel in order to be let in…. Was better after these glitches. Also we were on the third floor and there was no help or elevator (that was fun) lol won’t stay there again but it was a good location.

What a gem! The lady who greeted me was super nice and very accommodating. She stopped traffic so I can pull out from my parking spot (LOL:))) when she noticed I am nervous about the narrow streets. Made everything (parking, check in) so simple it was unbelievable. It a sweet little hotel, super clean and full of character. Definitely coming here to stay if I am in Quebec. The location is very close to historic spots, shopping and a ton of dining. Loved it, recommend it!
