Great location and cozy boutique hotel. For the price it was a little underwhelming in terms of room amenities and overall offering. Breakfast was excellent but was supposed to be included but was charged on top.
The soap was tiny, the woman at check out was pushing me to pay with a debit card instead of a credit card and she also charged me more than what the reservation on Expedia.
Tren bon séjour avec mon conjoint merci
Excellent . Would stay again and highly recommend. Excellent staff
The Inn was absolutely delightful. The owner and several of his children could not due enough for us to insure we had an enjoyable stay. Not to mention the wonderful chocolate sauce that was served to us at b-fast was a GREAT way to start the day.
Très bon séjour a cette auberge. Charmant et personnel sympathique. Nous recommandons.
The staff was pretty aloof and there was really only a couple of them and I was just really disappointed in the points that supposed to be about chocolate that there wasn’t like chocolates on the pillow or anything like that. Also, the meal I had in the afternoon was really really spend it for what it was. It was good but I didn’t expect it fish and chips to be 30 bucks
Beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room
We had a wonderful weekend at Auberge La Chocolatière. Our room was cosy and very clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfast divine. Unfortunately when checking out, we were told by Guy (the owner), that we had to pay by debit card, which I didn’t happen to have with me. He claimed that I was sent an email stating that fact. I never received the email. Furthermore, when I checked the Expedia site (where I did the booking), it said that both Master card and Visa are accepted. In the end, Guy relented and took my card but was very abrupt. Plus I only realized when I arrived home that I was charged for the breakfasts which are supposed to be included, and we were also charged for an Americano coffee which neither my husband nor I ordered. I am extremely disappointed with the way our stay ended. Had it not been for the experience at check-out, I would have given the inn 5 stars.
Wonderful room, lovely location.
A great little chocolate themed hotel / b and b with a lot of extra little extras like a chocolate shop, cafe attached. Beautiful location at the top of the lake. Room was very well equipped, comfortable and pretty.
Free public parking right across the street, our room was tight but definitely doable for a couple. Quaint with character. Breakfast was included, large selection from a menu (real cloth napkins) and tea served in a teacup with accompanying teapot. Stairs were a challenge for walking impaired. Centrally located in town. Would stay here again.
We chose this property just to break up a long drive, next time we will make it a longer stay. Overall it's a lovely place and the staff are wonderful.
Wow!
What a wonderful and charming little hotel! Room was lovely with light colored wood, comfy beds, and a small table. We had a corner room and could even open the windows for the breeze. Pressure in shower was great. View from room included lake and the village. Breakfasts were fabulous. Guido is helpful and amusing, keeping everyone chuckling over coffee. Location was convenient and we could walk to nice local restaurants. Plenty do in the area. I'd definitely go back! Mil Gracias, Guido, y un fue un placer conocerte!
Beautiful historic building in the lovely village of North Hatley. The hosts are lovely and the breakfast fabulous
Employees was very professional
Located at the corner of Main Street, on weekdays the traffic would wake us at 6.30am
Cozy charming quiet hotel. Great breakfast and helpful staff.
Very kind team, very helpful and sincere
Clean, quiet room. Super comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good and was walkable to a few other restaurants for coffee, beers, grocery, shopping.
Room was quiet, clean & comfortable. Staff very pleasant & helpful.
Clean and tidy, the owners were friendly and helpful, not sure why a$3.50 charge per person for breakfast was charged, when the breakfast was included in the price.??
We went for a 2-day getaway. The hotel is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. The area is pretty. Breakfast is very good. Staff is very good. The only issue identified was dimmed lights and on one evening there was no lighting in stairway.
Très accueillant
We enjoyed our stay. Great location near the lake. Very nice breakfast provided. Corridors are quite dark and need better lighting.
A very comfortable room with a Grandview of the lake. Breakfast was exceptional. Room was clean and comfortable. AC worked well. Staff was kind and helpful. Even carrying up our bags to our third floor room. Highly recommend
Very clean and comfortable hotel and room, everything was new or seemed that way and well maintained. Excellent breakfast included with rooms. Coffee was very good! Great location and easy parking around. Wonderful to see the family with their 4 boys running the place so well! Do better: Pillows need to be replaced though. The owners were wonderful but could be more down to earth….have a conversation with your guests and enjoy!
Cozy. Right accross the lake. Next to a very good restaurant with beautiful patios. Awesome breakfast. Nice people.
…
Excellent chocolates for sale. Staff very helpful and friendly
Accueil sympathique! Chambre confortable et tranquille! Très bon déjeuner! Je le recommande vivement.
Nice little boutique hotel with delicious breakfast!
Great Inn for a night in North Hatley
Great Inn for a night in North Hatley! Room was cute and clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, the included breakfast was generous and delicious. Very good location to enjoy the area, we loved it !
We loved staying at the Chocolatier. The room had everything we needed plus a lounge on the first floor for guest use. Our room also had a lovely view of the lake and sunset. The best part for me was the breakfast!! The innkeepers, brothers Felix and Cedric are perfect hosts! You won't be disappointed at the Auberge Chocolatier!
Sweet and Charming
This is our 4th stay here. Positives are, clean fresh rooms. Rooms have mini fridge and coffee maker, and a couple chocolates on the table. The mini split heating and cooling is very quiet unlike many hotels. We get King Rooms. Breakfast is excellent and quick. They have indoor and outdoor seating in a quaint roadside setting. There is a gift shop in the lobby. They sell chocolates, tee shirts local beers and crafts. Everyone is friendly. Less than 200’ away is an excellent restaurant with 3 outdoor terraces and indoor seating. The Pilsen. We have dinner here every visit. Location is a quiet town intersection. There are a couple small boutiques, and a fairly complete. General Store. Otherwise it a nice town to walk. The negatives are few. There is no elevator. This is a 4 story building. And they recently stopped accepting credit cards. Cash or debit cards only. This caught us off guard as we usually don’t travel with much cash and we don’t have a debit card. They were accommodating though. We will stay here again.
Nice location. Excellent breakfast, excellent staff. Beds and bedding excellent. Sadly the bath linens need work.
Hotel was adequate for the purpose
Next to a beautiful scenic lake
The host was very friendly, the food was excelent. The room was well furnished and very comfortable. It was a great find! I can only imagine how nice it would be in the summer by the lake when all local merchants are open.
It's okay.
The hotel is set in the most beautiful picturesque North Hatley village. The hotel has been updated, and very quaint. The TV is very small, and the outlets aren't very reliable, but the tech shortcomings are more than made up with by the food, and the customer service. The bed is unfortunately very uncomfortable, but again, it does get made up by proximity to really great food.
Belle escapade en Estrie
L’auberge la chocolatière nous a charmé. La propreté des lieux, la vue sur le lac, le choix de déjeuner le lendemain, et bien sûr la boutique de chocolat font de cette destination un séjour inoubliable. Merci! Langis et Manon
The cleanest hotel room in which I’ve ever stayed.
Just spent a couple of nights at the auberge. Room was clean, the place was nice and quiet (note: during the off season). Staff were friendly and attentive. Everything went well up until checkout. We wanted to pay with our credit card and were told that we could not pay with a credit card. The gentleman told us that we had to pay with debit. We were never advised of their payment method at the time on their website nor at the time of booking. Since this is the only method of payment that they accept, it should be clearly specified, in advance. Just thought that any future clients should be aware of their lack of flexibility regarding methods of payment.
Reception whas poor and bossy: do this, don't do that. Handicapped persons facilities where inexistant: the room was on the second floor, no lift, no help for bagages. The advertised restaurant on site was closed. The overall price after add-ons was far too high for such a place.
This is a beautiful inn, situated in one of the most scenic communities we've ever visited. It's a lovely place to stay.
Charming, well located. Friendly service. Good, ample breakfast. Front rooms face traffic; so noisy. Comfy bed.
I really like the chocolate theme and the room was very clean and spacious! I would recommend anyone to stay there.
Quaint B&B property opposite the river. Small but comfy rooms. Didn’t say on the booking site they only accept debit or cash
Charming hotel in a great location, spotlessly clean, great hosts and a wonderful hot breakfast made to order. What is not to like. Loved the Auberge and would go back in a minute.
Room was great. Would be a 5 star except for:* not friendly staff, hidden charges (significant breakfast gratuity which they don’t mention until checkout), paper cups instead of glasses in the room and the tiniest ‘bar’ of hard soap I had ever seen (no liquid soap). No sign of daily room service - not even garbage removal. A fine property that goes cheap on the small details.
Great place to stay
Wonderful fun room on 3rd floor. The included breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff was very helpful.
The property is in an excellent location in this tourist town. The rooms are clean but the signs of hard times are evident (a miniscule soap, paper cups, leave your shoes outside the door) No reserved parking for guests. Menus intentionally in French only.
Charming small hotel in a very pretty little town -North Hatley.
Auberge Chocolatiere room was clean and modern. Building is quiet and very accommodating with common sitting area. Delectible chocolate desserts! Only one small complaint - the digital display on the air conditioner is so bright it lights up the room at night, makes the room to light. This stay was a definate 9.5 / 10. We would return.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The property exceeded my expectations and a return trip is already being planned. The room (with the view of the lake) was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was outstanding.
Quaint Town, beautiful inn. Delicious breakfast.
this place is the first one we ever encounter price cheating in Canada. We , 3 adults, booked 2 nights family room through Expedia with $647.36 after tax. However, business owner charged us $710.26. Asked why, the owner given some ridiculous excuses like, $3.5 person charge on breakfast, tips, our room is a kingbed room upgrade, etc. These numbers cannot match. This place people are dishonest, taking every possible chance stealing money from visitors.
Staff very friendly. Quaint accommodations. Stayed in the newly renovated annex house overlooking the canal and lake.
Place charmante et tranquille. Bel accueuil.
Great stay with good breakfast
Gret place in a small town where you have access to lots ofnother areas
Friendly staff with great breakfast. Would recommend for a base for Eastern Townships.
I went for 3 nights with a friend and really appreciated all the care put into everything .Breakfast was incredible the room comfy cozy and super inviting. The location is right at the centre of a beautiful historic village on a river connected to a picturesque lake. The auberge had its own divine chocolate serves lunch too the staff (and the food :)are so wonderful. It’s truly a lovely stay not to be missed
The staff where hospitable and bilingual. The food tasted great and seemed to be made there.
The owners were absolutely incredible! The breakfast (included) was delicious. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Made a one-night stop on way to Quebec City. Great location near a beautiful lake, with restaurants and brew pubs nearby. Room was on the small side, but very clean and with all the necessary amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you love chocolate, you can't go wrong here, as they sell homemade chocolates and pastries in the front lobby. We enjoyed it.
This is a modest family-run property. The rooms are small but clean. The owners and their children were friendly and responded quickly to our requests. The area is beautiful and close to other beautiful small towns like Megog and Knowlton. I recommend this place.
Nice rooms, friendly staff, good choice of breakfast. I would certainly stay here again.
Charming place Delicious breakfast included. Sitting room provided. Room was small but comfortable. Quaint small town.
Best spot in North Hatley!
Great location, rooms and food. Family that owns it are always there and are so friendly and responsive. Will definitely stay there again!
Everyone was friendly and extremely accomodating. North Hatley isn't very big but La Chocolatiere is centrally located so everything is walkable. Breakfasts are excellent and if you get a chance purchase some of the chocolates available in house. They have a patio out front and another one located at the rear of the building. The bed was extrememely comfortable. Parking can sometimes be an issue but the folks at La Chocolatiere were very helpful in that regard. Five stars in my book.
Soooooo amazing! Also, breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend.
Efficient and courteous check-in, thanks to Felix. Very clean and well-organized room with all necessary amenities. Excellent location. Free parking next to the property. Excellent breakfast. Welcoming and charming ambiance. Many thanks to the staff.
Wonderful breakfast, desserts, chocolates.
The property is clean and was fine for our one night stay. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was pleasant.
Lovely room.
This auberge is a little gem in the picturesque village of North Hatley in the heart of the rolling hills of the Eastern Townships. The staff are welcoming in both French and English, quick to help, and engaging. Omelette breakfast was delicious.
Correct sans plus
Correct sans plus. L'accueil et le staff doivent s'améliorer grandement.
Pros: Nice location. Parking a little tricky but it worked out. Room was nice and comfortable. Easy walk to everything in town. Cons: hallways were very dark at night; breakfast was good but it was charged when all advertising and staff said that it was included; quite a lot of rules and posting about what is and isn’t allowed I probably won’t stay again. Not bad but not especially welcoming.
Loved it. Great every time. Love the breakfast. Super friendly.
Great choice for visit to Eastern Townships
We had a nice stay at the Auberge la Chocolatiere. This Inn is in the center of North Hatley. Welcoming and friendly staff. We checked in a little after 7pm, and appreciated the team staying late to check us in. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the town. Nice common room. Internet was fast and reliable. TV was small with low volume, but we didn't come here to watch TV. The breakfast was great. We would stay here again.
Havre de calme dans un très beau coin
Beaucoup de calme, service et petits déjeuners au delà de mes attentes. Merci pour le séjour! Equipe vraiment sympathique!
Highly recommend this beautiful, authentic Auberge. The location, rooms, staff and breakfasts are fantastic. This is the perfect location to basecamp and explore North Hatley and surrounding area. The owners are super friendly, informative and welcoming.
Good service, great breakfast, fabulous location!
The location, the ambiance and the friendly and very pleasant staff. Perhaps better toiletries?
Friendly staff great location very comfortable and clean rooms
Auberge centrale entre Magog et Sherbrooke. Style vieillot mais propre. Très bon déjeuner. Stationnements gratuit disponible à proximité.
We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Breakfast was wonderful!
We really enjoyed our stay at Auberge la Chocolatière. It was quiet, clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a lounge on the 2nd floor where you can go for coffee and tea. The breakfasts are generous and delicious and the staff are friendly and efficient. We’d go back.
We loved the site and view on the lake
great location, lovely staff and delicious, generous breakfast!
Totally charming..family run by isabel and guy..and their seven adult children...this is slower season now, and their son ,felix ,held down the fort in the afternoon..making coffees, serving the most delicious chocolate desserts ..also, groups in to socialize over beer and drinks... the breakfast was served by guy, made to order from a full breakfast menu..including crepes..fresh fruit with amazing chocolate sauce to dip in...the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch until 2:30. We arrived just at closing, but .felix, the 23 yr.old son, offered to make us fabulous fish and chips... delightful young man... there is a fully stocked, gourmet grocery store almost next door..open year-round..and a wonderful antique store, also open year-round...overall, north hatley was an amazing two night stop, on our drive from quebec city back to buffalo....be sure to take only back roads...it is beautiful
Auberge la Chocolatière surpassed my expectations. A lovely auberge that was very neat and tidy. The food was way above the normal. I had the best grilled sandwich for lunch I think I have ever had. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. Very tasty french toast with fresh fruit all included with the room rate which was reasonable. Dinner is not served however there is a happy hour. I would definitely stay here again. The family who run the auberge couldn't be nicer.
Lovely!
Located in the heart of North Hatley, amazing breakfast with daily little smoothie shot and delicious cakes, great people very friendly.
Staff was accommodating and friendly. Included breakfast was tasty and filling! Location was perfect for visiting Sherbrooke, Magog areas.
