Double bookied

We arrived at the guesthouse but the owner told us that we had bern double booked but he allowed us to use the wifi and charge our phones until we had another place sorted . Even put some English channel on tv for us which was appreciated due to what had happened.

It’s a good hostel close to metro and city. Private rooms but shared washrooms(shared still clean). Very pricey compared to other hotels. If you wanna leave your comfort or luxury and still be near to city at low cost, then it is your place .

I did not like anything about this horrible, dirty, unsafe place... DO NOT VISIT THIS PROPERTY.

Although the neighbourhood was quite sketchy, the hotel itself was quaint and clean. The staff were very helpful and didn't get annoyed with my many questions. :-) Thanks, Panos!

Don't be fooled to check in there

In about a paragraph, I will sum up my experience. First of all, as a frequest traveler, NEVER go out in the middle of the night in the streets around the hotel. The place is crowded with Transgender prostitutes on every corner as well as mobs of drunk guys and you never know what they would do. I was advised by a store clerk to never go out with any belongings due to the excessive amount of thieves. The neighborhood is not at all welcoming and filled with drug addicts that storm the streets at night. Second, regarding the hostel, don't be fooled when they state 24-hour reception service. When I arrived there was nobody and I had to wait 2 hours in the lobby for the receptionist to come and assist me. Moreover, they ripped me off and charged me 15 Euros for a room when on Expedia it states 8 Euros as my receipt says. Also, I am pretty sure I prepaid the booking via credit card but they claimed Expedia did not charge me anything and it was just a booking procedure and I am meant to pay them by cash. Last but not least, the receptionists are very creepy, one of them scolded me and embarrassed me for losing my key exclaiming that I am an "irresponsible baby". They look at you in very creepy ways and their eyes are always red and smell like weed. I advise noone to stay at this aweful excuse of a hostel. It's true you get what you pay for but the minimum is being honest about what they provide for services and amneties.

Very unprofessional staff

First of all, I prepaid for this hotel a sum of 90$, around 8€ per day for 9 days. the hotel informed me that they did not receive any payment from expedia and that I should pay them by cash. I ended up paying 15€ per day to a slum excuse of a hotel with creepy staff that don’t make you feel welcomed and that you are a burden to them.

Arrived with confirmation # of reservation & was told they were fully booked with no bed for me. I was eventually taken to a hotel where I paid double what I had intended.

Prostitute and criminals in front of this location

Do not book here! This is not a hotel! When we got there after our flight was delayed, the Taxi driver warned us about the location not being safe. There were two prostitutes in front of the location. The lobby had no lights on and the door was locked. While we are trying to get buzzed in the locked door with the assistance of our Taxi Driver who spoke the staff's language, we were almost robbed by three guys. We had to run to the car and leave for our safety. This location would not give us a refund even thought I explained everything! This was a nightmare!

This is not a hotel more like a brothel.

When we drove up the taxi driver told us we were in a very bad area which was obviously. Two prosstitutes standing in front, we couldn't get in because the light were off and doors closed. While the taxi driver is trying to get us buzzed in the building, three guys are trying to rob us. It was a very scary moment. We left and tried to get a refund and they refused. Days prior to arriving I tried to verify if it was a hostel and they didn't respond. When I explained what happens and asked for a refund, now they respond that hostels do not give refunds.

a good cheap place to rest while traveling

Cheap simple hostel in the city center

If you have low expectations and want to stay almost in the center of Athens for a very cheap price, this hostel might be OK for you. It is 2 metro stations (or 20 mins walk) north of Syntagma in a run-down area with not very good reputations, better not to go out late in the night, but during the day it is OK. The hostel is on the 5th floor of an old house, with lifts and is very old from inside. Rooms are basic, but OK, bed was good, wi-fi was working. Toilets and shower are shared, but each room has a sink inside. There is a well equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave and appliances. All the premises are very old, but still working. The day receptionist was a very strange person (seemed exactly like a drug dealer), but was surprisingly helpful and spoke decent English. The female manager persuaded me to pay cash, but accepted my credit card in the end. So, if you just want to sleep cheap, it is OK, but do not have high expectations. Single room costs 15 EUR, you cannot expect more for this price.

Very nice hotel near the metro station

We stayed 4 nights on a 3 persons room. Very nice decor, sink with mirror in the room, Bathroom and shower very close to room. Staff and owner very nice to us.Very good price and near the metro station Omonia. We really enjoyed our staying. Best conditions for the price !

Don't stay

Terrible, don't expect any help from the staff. They were also bickering throughout my whole stay seems like the staff is a family and a couple was arguing for my whole stay. Also you can't check in early as there is no one working early. There was a couple that was trying to check in around 9am and kept ringing the bell at the desk and they never came out waited for 2 hours. Hotels/hostels usually give you maps and I was not given anything. Also I booked a single room with one bed and I had to share with 3 other guys.... I've stayed at hostels before so I don't mind it but when I pay for a single room I expect a single room , I didn't wanna say anything because I checked in at midnight and didn't want to have to look for a new place especially since they already had taken my money via credit card. All in all the ratings are terrible for this place for a reason.

This was not a nice place to stay the beds was hard and we sleep cold there was no space the place is full of smoke shower is small and full of water no toilet paper

Very good value, free internet access and printing

Very good value, free internet access and printing, room wi-fi works well. Excellent 24 hour staff, friendly, accommodating, service orientated! Just ask and they go above and beyond the call of duty to make you happy. Nice HOT showers with great water pressure. Rooms are basic with a sink in the room we had. Good location in central Athens, very close - 10 minutes to the National Archaeological Museum and Omonia square where there is a Metro line.

Poor value, however cheap it may be

Very run down. Very noisy and no A/C so all the windows need to be open. Kitchen sink has no hot tap, let alone hot water; good luck washing those greasy plates.

Bad experience

It was the worst experience ever. I booked this hostel and they didn't even reserve my room so I had nowhere to stay. Across the street there was a prostitution hotel. Everyone in that neighborhood stares at you.

A short stay

I stayed there for 3 nights. According with the location, it's located in city center, 5 minutes walk from Omonia Square. No heater in room, but there is an electric plug in bad, it's helpful, keep warm for sleep. Close to Metro, restaurants, and other access. According with the price, this is good enough place to stay for a while. Free WiFi, common kitchen, helpful staffs. I don't mind to stay there again.

They charged me twice!

We arrived late and tired and slightly shocked at the poor state of the area and the reception. They said that they hadn't taken payment so could I pay them which I duly did. Anyway checking my bank statement when I got back it seems they charged me twice which isn't on! They also don't seem to be contactable by email so I can't help but fell well and truly conned by them. Anyway there age definitely gar better places to stay for a similar cost so I would recommend steering clear!

Poor service

Had to wait because they had overbooked and needed to rearrange the rooms. We were told it would be short but had to wait for a long time

Overall had a good stay. We left something behind & tried to contact Athens House but the phone was never picked up and we used the ph no from the web site so that was a disappointment. Having kitchen facilities was great but it needs to be upgraded.

It was aufullI I was very unsatisfied. I will not recommend to anyone to stay there. I left the hotel I imidiatly live the hotel and fined another one

Nice and quiet place

Enjoyed stay here, some things need to be improved .The location is good close to public transports,nothing to say if one day I go back to Athens I will consider stay on this hostel again .Really cheap

Just a basic accomodation

The staff was rude and not welcoming at all. This hotel is on the 5th floor of an old building. They do not accept credit cards, so we had to pay cash for our room reservation.

Já coloquei a avaliação dessa espelunca junto com a outra, o Hotel Terrasse em Clignancourt, Paris Repito: vcs devem me devolver meu dinheiro porque fui enganado no preço e na informação sobre dois hoteis( de la Terrasse em Paris e Athens House) O senhor que nos recebeu é sem dúvida gente boa.Nada contra, apesar de eu me assustar um pouco ao ver , à uma da manhã, minha reserva anotada à mão num canto de caderno. O resto foi deplorável. Deitamos à uma e meia , levantamos às seis e fomos para outro hotel. Se abrir o bidê, inunda o banheiro Na banheira tem que se ter coragem para tomar banho Se vc tiver medo de barata, na frente da privada tem E não sei o que nos picou durante a noite, apesar de não termos tido coragem de trocar de roupa para passar a noite Um inferno Como ficaríamos varios dias e pagamos por todos mas não ficamos , não podemos dizer que o barato saiu caro: o caro saiu caríssimo, porque coisa assim no Brasil não custa mais de 25 reais. E é mais limpo. Ficamos sem direito a receber nosso dinheiro de volta pelos outros dias. Apesar de constar nas informações que poderíamos ficar menos tempo ( caso não gostássemos). Pagamos todos os dias em que ficamos em outro hotel, esse sim uma maravilha: uma suite na Agiou Andreous,Live in Athens Suite, tb já avaliada aqui como excelente por nós.

Nous avons choisi cet hôtel pour sa réception ouverte 24 h puisque notre arrivée était tardive et qu’il était situé près d’un métro. Par contre ce quartier n’était pas rassurant à cette heure. Confort basique, non conseillé aux enfants. Odeurs de cigarettes dè s qu’on ouvre la porte de chambre.

Non lo consiglierei a nessuno

Camera sbagliata, sporca (trovata una blatta o similtale), letti marci, lenzuola orribili. Il giorno dopo con la promessa di cambiarcela ci fanno aspettare la signora della pulizie durante il pomeriggio nella camera a noi destinata ancora sporca degli ospiti precedenti. La signora delle pulizie non é mai arrivata. A un certo punto ci siamo rassegnati e abbiamo cambiato hotel. Inoltre, l'hotel manca di pulizia.

全てが値段相応です。 部屋は古びた感じで、部屋の水道はお湯が出ないですし、風通しも日当たりも悪く、クローゼットはあるもののハンガーはありません。Wi-Fiもかなり弱く、利用者の少ない昼間は割と動きますが夜はほとんど繋がらないに等しいです。 トイレも夜はトイレットペーパーがないことがしばしば、、、 ただ値段が値段なので、バックパッカーであればこのくらいは想定内、くらいの感じです。 ただ、私はWi-Fiルーターを持っていなかったので、ホテルでWi-Fiがほとんど使えないのは致命的でした、、、

興味深い。

オーナーは本当に変なおじさんでした。笑 到着したらノートに予約は全て手書きらしく、私たちの名前はありませんでした。いくら？とあちらから聞かれたのでネットで見た額を言いましたが、値引き交渉も可能なようです…笑笑。 シャワーは水がちょろちょろ程度、部屋は綺麗だと思います。寝るだけなら十分ですね！ この辺のエリアは夜はあまり治安が良くないらしくギリシャ人のウーバードライバーがここまで付き添ってくれました。

Good hotel for the money

If you don't want to spend a lot of money and you don't need a lot of comfort or space, this is your hostel of choice.

My room had a big and good bed with soft mattress. The view to the backyard is bad with a dusty grey backyard that never have been cleaned.The kitchen is old and small and the handlebar to the cold water was broken when i came and it was broken when i left 2 weeks later. The handlebar in the shower was also old and many years of use and it had almost only cold or hot water.The doors to the rooms have a easy-standard lock key you find in all rooms in family houses so 1 key can open all rooms so you have to take the valuables with you or have it in the rooms with a risk. (The area ouside is a drug and red-light district in the nighttime so be careful) The hotel staff was nice. Outside the hotel there is a 24h. open kiosk and many kebab shops and supermarkets wich was handy. The nearby area is shabby and full of traffic and people in the daytime and nighttime but in the nighttime the area is a drug and red-light district and i asked a police officer about the area and he said we had to be careful in the area in the nighttime becouse they sometimes attack tourist but the kebab shops and kiosk nearby was allways nice and friendly and i had no problems.My rec:If the owner had been thinking trough what a hotel guest think is important (handlebars for the water,doorlocks and paint )and used 500 euroes in renovating the stay would have been very different.If you want a cheap stay and only sleep in the room the hotel is just fine, if the hotel is a big part of your stay look elsewhere.

Terrible experiencia

Mi reservacion no fue respetada por lo que tuve que buscar otro hotel a la medida noche en el centro de athenas sin conocer el idioma ni nada con toda mi familia y dos personas mayores de 80 años con discapacidad . Insólito, insensible e inaudito, no se diga del pésimo servicio a cliente.

従業員に騙されました

ホテルに着いたとき、受付の女とマイクという男（ホテルに住んでいてお金の管理や領収書の発行をしていた）からホテル代を現金で払うよう言われました。受付の女曰く予約時に入力したクレジットカードからお金を引き落とせないとのことだったので、言われた通りにマイクにホテル代を渡したのですが、後からカードの請求を見て騙されたことに気付きました。

권하고 싶지 않아요

호텔스닷컴에서 예약완료후 방문했으나 예약되지 않았다고 해서 잠시 황당(업무처리가 완전히 아나로그임. 공책에 적어서 예약관리). 다행히 인근 숙소를 물색해줘서 대체숙소에서 해결. 전반적으로 권하고 싶지 않아요.

Skromny, czysty, wyjątkowy inaczej

Sam hotel znajduje się w okolicy dość biednej, wyglądającej jak po opuszczeniu przez tubylców dzielnicy, aczkolwiek nadrabia z pewnością fajna obsługą, pani w recepcji zawsze miła i uśmiechnięta. Pokoje czyste, zadbane, skromne, ale łazienki.. ooo matko ! jakby to napisać, by nie urazić nikogo.. prostota ponad wszystko, ciasne, stare jak Partenon, z 3 łazienek 1 posiadała tylko ciepłą wodę. Surwiwal, ale dało się to przeżyć :) mimo tego stanu, znów podkreślić muszę łazienki i toalety CZYSTE. aa i ten balkon.. extra, ale hałas ze skrzyżowania ulic pod zabijał cały urok miejsca.

Recibes lo que pagas, ademas, la zona es muy peligrosa y el hotel es viejo.

Pensione centrale, comoda, pulita, ospitale. No riscaldamento.

1.入住時工作人員正在抽煙，整個大廳都彌漫煙味。 2.旅館附近區域環境雜亂，感覺不太安全。 3.離地鐵Omonia走路約五分鐘，到piraeus搭船很方便。

Night in the Athens

We came to the hotel tonight by 23:00. With a population turns out that our rooms with perfect image they have not reserved. That tells us the administrator, like Iggi Pop by glancing red notebook, where in a chaotic order records were scattered. The question is what happened to our record? We were pretty offered to shut up and listen carefully. Instead of two double rooms four-place was offered to us. Looking for a hotel there was no time, so they agreed to what is. Even at night in Athens terrible heat and humidity and instead of an air conditioner us waiting room with three fans.
