The area was close to town, clean inside. But if you’re not use to the Rotorua smell it is very strong in this area.

Definitely stay there again nice a clean friendly staff!!! Just the bloody smell is very strong around that area

Peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed the jacuzzi. Smoke alarm went off early first morning. No face cloths or dish cloths. Would definitely stay again

Absolutely a great place to stay! The standout feature for me was the Spa and soundproof walls—you can hardly hear any noise from the neighboring rooms, which is a huge bonus. The location is also fantastic, as it’s conveniently close to all the places I wanted to visit in Rotorua. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay!🙂

Great place. Clean and tidy. Over all great stay. Only lackint ironing facilities in the room and wardrobe space. Worth the money spent.

Good enough.

Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, and spacious bathroom. No luggage racks or place to put suitcases, there was plenty of space to put benches or luggage racks. No wash cloths. Heated towel bar was nice.

Great spot so close to everything and in walking distance, staff are friendly and very nice. The room was clean and smelt so nice. Will definitely come and stay again.

Nice well kept motel. Staff was very nice and friendly. We had a 2floor room and the stairs were not up to OSHA standards, but very manageable. Big room and bathroom. Recommend you stay.

Stayed 10 nights for work. Loved kitchenette and big bathroom. I had studio but plenty of room for long stay and felt safe. Would stay again

Nice place to stay, the kids loved having the private spa. Only thing I would suggest is having hooks by the spa so you can hand your togs and towel up to dry

People smoking outside the units I had 2 small children & I didn’t want to let them go outside so I left. They look to have long term welfare tenants which was the main concern as this was the issues

Comfortable bed. Wish there was a wardrobe or something to hang or put clothes on/in. An extra blanket and pillow would of been nice to have also.

We booked a jacuzzi room. We stayed at number 7. Jacuzzi is worn out and too dirty to use. We didn’t used it. Dead flies in the kitchen… definitely not worth the money we’ve paid. Bed is small but clean and shower works fine. Can not believe the good reviews…

Decent place to stay. There was a small change in my Expedia booking the manager was not bothered about it and made the customer sort it out. It would have been better for the motel to call Expedia to sort out instead of me overpaying and dealing with Expedia for a refund. Not good for service industry.Hence the 4 stars

It was a newly renovated room, modern design, extremely comfortable firm bed, huge space, perfect for a multi-day stay. Do not let the sometimes present smell of sulfur stop you from renting there, it is much better than most run down other places. The staff was so, so helpful when it was needed, the kitchen had all the basics for home cooking, it was an easy 20min walk from grocery and restaurants, and so, so convenient for all the fun the Redwoods offer.

Quiet, convenient location. Perfect to explore Rotorua and surroundings. The room has recently been renovated - clean, roomy, well-presented, well equipped kitchenette, smart TV and good wifi. Staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful.

Property has been renovated and is very pleasant to stay in. Bed was very comfortable, plenty of hot water with good pressure in shower.

Had one of the Spa units which were great after a lone day out walking. Staff at the front desk were so helpful and gave us some great places to visit plus they were all so lovely to deal with.

Units have been updated and are modern and fresh, lovely kitchen & bathrooms and new carpet. Only disappointment was there is literally never any staff around when you want to check in, ask a question, come back to retrieve your pants you left behind...twice. Staff should always be on site and available during business hours in the least - this lets down an otherwise great motel that i would absolutely stay in again.

While it might look a little dated on the outside, it's clearly been renovated inside, with quite modern fixtures & fittings & appliances. I was impressed with how big the bathroom was and I loved how quiet it was (I'm a light sleeper!) - set back slightly from the busy Fenton Street. I was travelling with my 2 teenage daughters so they had one unit and I had the one next door which worked out well. They offered us a late check-out (unprompted) which was most appreciated (see comment about travelling with teenagers...). There was the odd minor thing that could use some attention: the sliding door was very hard to lock; some of the window latches were broken & it would be good to include a shelf in the showers to put soap, shampoo, etc on so you're not having to put them on the floor of the shower. Being a lazy tourist when on holiday it would've been nice if house-keeping washed the breakfast dishes but it wasn't a big deal! (Great kitchen facilities with a good-sized fridge with ice box; a microwave, hob, etc.) Fairly reasonable price; would happily recommend. :)

The motel is as it's advertised. Very clean and luxurious with private hot tub. Kitchen is so modernized. Would recommend to stay at this place. Check in/out was easy, parking in front of the room and free. Also, free wifi.

The motel was close to some major attractions, walking distance, and only a few minutes in the car for others. The motel had been refurbished recently and the carpets, kitchen and furniture were in good condition. Good WiFi, TV and air conditioning. Easy parking.

Everything we needed was there. Kichen was very nice.

As a family of 8 we booked for two nights. The rooms were modern, spacious and very clean. Both rooms had smart tv options such as netflix. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. A nice quiet location with useful amenities. We will definitely return.

Well I could not check in this hotel I booked as I was told the toilet was blocked for the room I booked. And as it was long weekend they couldn’t get it fixed. I was very upset thinking I will have to cancel my trip but the motel manager Billy arranged me another Motel which saved my day. Thanks

Okay stay but probably would not return

The security lights were extremely intrusive and one needs to wear a black out eye shield. Black out curtains would help or turning off the security lights at 10pm. Bedside Table would be helpful. I used one of the chairs instead.

It was nice and handy to everything but the shower had mould around the shower door, there were a few light bulbs needed replacing, the fridge door wouldn’t shut properly and a good spring clean all round wouldn’t go amiss. Otherwise it was nice and central and the bed was cosy and the spa awesome

Good experience. Booked at short notice. A bit dated but cost effective for what i paid and plenty of space.

The manager is hospitable but the facility is quite poor, the cutleries were dirty and the plates disgusting needs a thorough scrubbing all over the kitchen and the shower. I didn’t use the spa as it looks grubby.

Excessive noise from upstairs rooms from mid afternoon until midnight. I complained first up on arrival and reception staff spoke with other guests but as there was no phone in room I was unable to complain again during the night. Bed comfortable but very low. Main Curtain broken from track.

Fairly clean on the inside, very dirty and untidy outside of rooms, with smoke butts everywhere and rubbish on the roof which you looked out at. Very noisy and police drama going on with minors, verbal abuse from people getting kicked out of hotel. This all left us with a bad impression overall. Ridiculously overpriced for what it was nothing like on website.Would never stay there again.

Didn't cater for family of 5

We were a family of 5 and this was specified when we booked. However, there were only 4 towels, not enough cutlery, no tea towels, generally lacking in facilities. Could do with a bit of paint and general tidy as room ok but a spruce up would have worked.

Unclean nasty hotel

This motel was advertised as a 4 star, very clean motel. However when we checked in, it was far from what was advertised. The bedsheets had nasty stains on them, there were dead bugs on the bed, and the towels were dusty and dirty as well. When we asked the owner for extra blankets in case it got cold that night, she said there were no extra blankets and to turn on the portable heater, which turned out to be broken. When we opened the cabinets, we found the pots and pans dirty as well. Furthermore, the spa was moldy, which made for a very unhealthy environment. We informed the owner of all of these issues in the morning, but she refused to acknowledge them even though her own employee agreed that the room was dirty and unhealthy. Steer clear of this motel, it is falsely advertised as a 4 star motel. Would not recommend it to anyone, even for one night.

This hotel needs a renovation.

This hotel is in need of serious renovation..or at least a very serious cleaning. The bed was soft but the bed linens were good. Carpet and the bathroom looked like the original from away back then.. The living room divans (Twin beds) were so soft you couldn’t sit on them to watch TV or do computer work. However, , the young lady in Receptiom was good, friendly and knowledgeable. The hot tub was a nice touch but , again, needs refurbishing. We were booked in for 2nights, the second day we received clean towels but that was it, not a second package of plunger coffee, bed made or carpet vacuumed. No housekeeping apart from having clean towels delivered. Don’t understand how it can have the rating it does.

This place is old and run down feeling it has potential if the right people actually put time money and effort over all disappointed for how much I paid

A tad expensive for what you get

Stayed over labour weekend paid more then $250 for the night disappointed we didnt get sky tv. also was a little cold and no electric blanket. otherwise, staff were friendly and rooms were very clean.

Budget and Retro

It's 2017, this place is overdue for a renovation. The decor, furniture and fittings are still stuck in the 90s. The location is ok, not close to town but on the main street. The plus is each room has a spa tub, although dated, but functioning. The price is towards the lower end of the market, which kinda matches what it's offering.

Needs a good clean.

Rooms were dirty ins not emptied, and noisey. The accomodation is run down and need to be upgraded to be competitive.

Tired but okay for the price. Good location and close to all the main attractions.

Although a little run down, the motel was walking distance from the shopping centre and the staff could not do enough to help. A nice stay.

Well priced quiet location

Clean tidy motel

The room was very clean.The kitchen well equiped and the spa pool was lovely.Overall the room was pretty good.The bed,couches and bathroom could do with updating but maybe the owners will get to that. Would def go back.

Excellent, friendly proprietor and his wife. So obliging Wonderful private spa pool a bonus. Well stocked kitchen. Not too expensive and plenty of room.
