it's ok.

The Ascott is an older style motel. The room was large, however the was not enough space to put your luggage except the floor. There were good drapes, so the room was dark at night, which helps with sleeping. the unit was clean apart from a few ants in the bath room

Great property for our family trip with plenty of living and lounge space, great bathroom and comfy beds. Only thing the unit didn’t have was a dishwasher.

Modern and comfortable motel conveniently located to the city centre and lake. Easy check in. We'd happily stay again.

Checkimnwas seemless. The property was clean. Beds were comfortable. Grest syay. We'll stay again if needed.

Didn’t expect much and was pleasantly surprised and would stay longer if it wasn’t booked full during the following days of our trip.

Well-maintained property with accommodating staff who promptly changed our room to suit my needs, as I'm currently on crutches. I appreciate their attentiveness and will definitely choose this place again.

Lots of positives- nice family unit. Separate bedrooms. Staff friendly. Small kitchenette but no oven. Couple negatives- Spa bath had to be filled with shower head- something wrong with the tap. Queen bed super hard, and not overly comfortable. Tea and coffee cheap brands and unpalatable. Overall ok but pricey given what else is available in the area.

Perfectly good motel, as you would expect from an Asure property. Lovely firm bed. Couldn't find tissues, and no decaf coffee sachets, but other than that, a very comfortable stay, with even a view of the lake in the distance!

This is a great place to stay the rooms are spacious and clean its quiet but close to town and the lake the staff are really helpful and friendly parking is tight but overall a cery great place to stay

Very accomodating staff and clean room

Very clean and well equipped. Was noisy due to thumping all night from room above, although that is not the fault of the accomodation - more inconsiderate guests. There was an issue with the spa bath. Couldn't get to fill via tape - seemed to be broken so had to fill via shower head, but a lovely big spa. Would book again.

Great stay

Helpful check-in process for our late arrival. Comfortable room with great large massage bath. TV channel choices were spectacular including cable channels such as BBC, kids channels etc. Great stay overall.

Good size units, warm and quiet.

Had all the necessities and close to everything.

Booking process easy and stress free. Allocated parking for 1 vehicle. 2brm suite clean and fully equipped for short stay. Staff helpful and friendly. Great location - shops across the road, main centre a short walk and lake at end of the street.

Ascot a nice motel

Enjoyed our stay. Stayed an extra night. Payment was taken before we arrived but was supposed to have been pay on arrival. But all in all were very happy with the motel. Very nice unit. Would recommend as a good place to stay

Carpark thief.

Returned back to the motel around 10.30pm and somebody else was in our dedicated carpark which is always annoying.A quick call to to the manager and he instructed me where we could park for the night. Great stay and would stay here again.

Just had an overnight stay , everything was in order and communication from reception about parking and room was great.

We stayed just one night and paid extra for what was advertised as a "private hot tub". On arrival this was actually just a very small spa bath that we struggled to fit in.

Could be my new go-to business stay in Taupo!

I like the location because it is very close to shops and restaurants and activities,you don't want to miss.

Clean and quiet

Great staff, easy check in, spotlessly clean, close to swimming area at the lake, cafe and fiur square across the road, good prices. Could fit out wjole family in one room, (2bedroom apartment) room had everything you need. Only slight improvement could be to mention that one of the double beds is a flod out couch. But We didnt mind it at all because i already knew about it from the reviews so no hassel for us.

We booked for 6 and the room wasn’t really suitable for 6. The sofa bed was super uncomfortable, creaked a lot and was stained. There wasn’t enough cutlery and plates for 6 (they did bring more when asked). If we were 4 it would have been good but for what we paid for 6 people, it wasn’t great.

Please specify how many bedrooms as we were expecting three rooms but was faced with having to sleep on a sofa bed , I would probably not have booked this accomodation had I known someone would be sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge

It was good value for money and very clean but just an older property showing its age in a few places. I would stay again.

Our unit was lovely and clean and just what we needed. Taupō town is easily accessible too. Great value for money and we had a great stay!

Great motel with good room facilities. Friendly staff. Only downfall was the heater in our room was ridiculously loud so we couldn’t have it running for long which meant the room got cold.

Fill length mirror, fragranced soap and hair products, lots of pillows

Good stay. Bedding was great. Good heating. And the room had decent apartment level facilities. Bathroom drainage was a slight issue but not major. Had almost no contact with the staff as everything was prepped in advance and service done while we were away. Enjoyed the stay overall.

Stop over on way home

Booked on line and within minutes received confirmation by text from Motel confirming booking, room number, parking and location of key. Everything was as expected and the room was very clean and well kitted out.

Friendly and approachable staff. Facilities very well maintained and looked after personally by the owner. They are giving this motor inn a red hot crack with customer service and this is apparent. Would return there next time passing through Taupo for sure. Well done Ascot Motor Inn Taupo team.

We were lucky to secure this wonderful room at the last minute. Assuming it was a cancellation due to Ironman going on down the street. The room was comfortable with a nice bed and shower and a kitchenette. It was perfect for a 1 night stay!

Run down motel

The staff does the best they can, but this hotel is in need of an upgrade. Even just getting new beds and bedding would go a long way. In the evenings there were ants and one hut (maybe a beetle?) later that night. Request a room on a higher floor if you don’t want risk of that. It didn’t feel clean to me due to all this, even though it was cleaned up. I didn’t like staying here and wouldn’t do so again. Location was good though- even without having a car. 15 minute walk from bus stop, and city scooter system in town was helpful.

Very easy to book, great facilities very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

This unit was well supplied, our one night stay didn’t do it justice. Felt like a home and would be perfect for a week or more.

Well maintained

Our stay was great, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom towels were great. The area was very quiet.

Very comfortable, unit had it's own carpark, good facilities. I loved that there was a private courtyard at the back where we could sit and relax. Very welcoming

A great place to stay,highly recommend ed! Clean, well appointed rooms and very helpful and friendly staff.Located within walking distance to the lake and a short drive to shops and restaurants.

Lovely accommodation. Very comfortable stay.

Bathroom window was broken, would not shut. Radio broken, plates and glasses had greasy marks all over them. Reception locked on Saturday afternoon during their normal opening hours, only contactable on a mobile number. Motel manual said free newspapers available at reception, was told they no longer get newspapers.

A bit disappointed

A bit disappointed, we stayed two nights, there was no room service on the second day, only replaced the clean towels, rubbish bin was not cleared out, bedding was not done. Not sure if it was due to the Covid 19 situation. Air conditioner caused the short cut of the electrical system, we had to turn off it.

This was our second time we've been there, & we will come back again, we have been so comfortable, & it was big enough for a family with two teenage daughters, & it was so much clean & modern.

Contactless service on the way in and out. Only downside to the stay was the bed being super soft. 9/10 would stay again.
