Very very disappointing
If paying 2 star prices then fair enough. But this hotel is vastly lacking in any 3 star plus comforts or considerations. I’m actually shocked at the standard. Don’t think I’ve ever given such a damning review. Photo taken is just where I’m currently sat. I didn’t even need to move or look for issues lol
It’s a 3 start not a 5 star. Property less fancy and maybe a bit more worn down than a fancy new place. A bit out of the way, as is most of the coral beach area. Food (I was half board) was plentiful if not fancy. It’s clean, service was good, and the hotel/pool/bar/beach worked fine. I recommend it highly.
Table, coffee pot mal function Aiicon noisy
Not great
Far away from what they advertise
I’ll keep it short because there really is too much to say. We arrived and the hotel had no idea that we were staying even though I had my booking in front of me. We finally got into our room late at night. I was flat out asleep and the receptionist said I needed to ‘provide my papers’ as proof of my stay there. I went downstairs and she shouted saying ‘you need to show your papers! What do I tell head office?! What do I do?! I don’t know who you are’. This was finally sorted, very unfriendly staff. The hotel is very dated, I found out whilst there that they are using photos from 20 years ago to promote their hotel. Also, it’s advertised as a 4 star. This rating is given by the local council, not anybody in the UK or elsewhere. Whilst we found the hotel clean. It desperately needs a complete overhaul. The food is mediocre, which isn’t an issue for us, we ate out every day, and do us, we would never go abroad and stay in a hotel for the entire duration anyway, but for those who do, this would potentially be an issue. We ended up hiring a car and spending as little time there as possible. It’s not horrendous but it’s FAR from what they advertise. I would go elsewhere if you are looking at this hotel, but fully do your research. We had friends staying at a 5 star hotel 10 minutes away and they were far from happy with theirs as well!
The older lady on reception was very helpful and gave us our requested room. We would have marked higher but some of the new staff are letting the hotel down. Having stayed at the hotel lasy year the staff we are familiar with are still very friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast service is efficent and organised. Loved our holiday but at times there was a strange atmosphere.
Firstly, I will mention the positives. The room was tidy and very pleasant, and was tended to every day apart from the Sunday. Sadly, this is where the positives end. On a couple of occasions when asked to remain outside the room the staff were more than happy to let themselves in to change our towels whilst myself and my partner were undressed getting ready for our day. Secondly, when the room was tended to, the sheets weren’t actually changed at any point. This was evident due to some small stains that hadn’t come out in the wash remaining on the sheets throughout our stay. I would say despite this we were pleased with the overall condition of the room. On arrival we went down to the dining area and ate in the hotel as it was very late, this was to be our last dinner at the hotel as the food on offer is what I can only describe as looking appropriate in a soup kitchen. If you like soggy spring rolls then you’ll love this place. We gave it another chance at breakfast the following morning. This was also to be our final breakfast at the hotel and all I can say is that the bacon looked like it hadn’t seen the sun all of its life. It looked like it wanted to apologise for being there. This ‘fantastic’ breakfast set us up for a lovely day at the beach where the sun beds on offer were sun such bad condition they looked as though a 2 tonne car had been sitting on them. Advertised on their website as 4 star, this is a 2 or 3 star hotel at best.
Good for a hotel resort on a budget. Within walking distance of the coral bay strip and beach. The pool is a good size and temperature. The building itself and the rooms felt quite dated.
Ok hotel for the proce
We stayed here for 5 days and to be honest, I wasn’t impressed. We stayed in the half board and the food was not that good. It wasn’t horrible but just wasn’t great… the rooms were clean on arrival but not cleaned after. The cleaning crew only remade beds and changed towels… the pool area is nice but the beach area was a big disappointment. The staff were not friendly, except the cleaning lady, she was really nice. For the price it wasn’t bad but I would probably find a different place to stay next time.
We were put in the bungalows. Lovely sea views but ended there. Room was very grubby very damaged furniture dirty windows room not very clean. Entrance to the block had graffiti on the glass doors and side walls it was also a staff accommodation block . Anyone can gain access to the complex. This became quite clear when I was walking to the pool with my sister and a man exposed himself to us he asked if we liked what we saw. We reported this and to be fair reception were on the phones straightaway but we didn’t see any form of security checking for the rest of our duration. This put a different slant on the holiday as we didn’t feel as safe as we should always checking so not as relaxed. Evening meal was very nice. Breakfast could have been better and warmer I also think the management roles could have treated their staff a lot better Hotel was a small stroll to the strip and bus stop
Great hotel
Great hotel in a beutiful location, room was cleaned everyday with clean towels and shower gels. Large fridge and safe in room. Great aircon too. The evening meal always had lots if choice and the afters were amazing. Would not hesitate in staying again.
Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
Disappointing
disapponting Very poor service Need to be renovated No air codition in some areas
Overnight stop
Just an overnight stay so not much time to get an accurate opinion. The hotel is in a nice location with it's own beach and walking distance from the coral bay strip. Staff are friendly and helpful. I was a little confused about covid-19 regulations within the hotel. There were plenty of notices about wearing masks and not overcrowding the lifts but nobody took notice of it. The staff were not enforcing it and indeed a few of the staff were 'maskless' themselves. Wifi in the hotel is 10 euros a day I can't remember what the weekly figure was but as we were there for a very short time it didn't seem worth it especially as if you go up the road to the strip most pubs and restaurants have free wifi.
* This hotel was overbooked and sent us to another hotel where we wasted 2 nights of our holiday living out of a suitcase. * The receptionist said we were being sent to 4 star hotel - we were actually taken to a different hotel. * We were told a taxi would pick us up to take us back on 3rd day - it didnt turn up so we had to make our own way back. There were lots of other holidaymakers in the same position as us. * Food at the Ascos is repetitive and not very hot. * A lot of the staff look miserable, some of them are abrupt - bordering on rude. * Very loud music day and night around the pool and terrace - which were overlooked by a lot of rooms. Not good if you want a peaceful holiday as its hard to escape it. * Not a 4 star hotel, in my opinion. Dirty carpets in the hallway, damp on walls on 1st floor. * Lots of broken loungers by beach area. Some positives - * Large, clean pool. * Good location for strolling out at night - some bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance. * Comfy, clean bed and good maid service
The location of the hotel, rooms, pool are just fine. But there is a serious problem for people with disabilities - disabled or wheelchairs. There is no lift from the reception level to the pool level They cannot go down to a dining room by the pool, pool or sea. The beach does not allow access to water and the descent from the hotel to the beach is very steep. Hotels in other countries in this case have a shuttle service to the sea shoreI
Hotel. Com mixed up our reservations. Ascos did not know about our reservations. The booking confirmation numbers did not exist a cording to hotel
Ants in the bedroom Most of the restaurant Staff not helpful & quite rude Buffet selection was terrible
I booked this hotel because it's categorized 4 stars everywhere and i saw the pictures and liked what i saw. Even though the reviews were mixed we decided to give it a try. The room was ok and clean, the pool, beach and overall surroundings are nice however the food was absolutely terrible and evrything from pool towels to tv remote required a security deposit! Most amazing and annoying of all, we had to pay for wi-fi! I will not come back to this hotel.

The hotel, sadly, was in a very poor state. The carpets were all terribly stained. The door frames on the majority of doos were falling off. The hotel rooms themselvels were not cleaned fully, with large chunks of dust under the beads, stained bedding, and even bloody on one of the bed cushions. The food was terrible quality, to the extent we had to buy almost all meals out. When we did eat at the restaurant at the hotel, it was cold and barely had flavour. The drinks were fine on the first day. However, bar stafc confirmed the pumps had been adjusted for the fozzy drinks and therefore the syrup was not coming out properly, causing the drinks to taste like soda water. Therefore, for almost the whole stay, we had to buy drinks out too. I would not recommend this hotel, if anything, would recommend to avoid. The only positives were the entertainment staff who were very welcoming.
