Great location and great service

Excellent location and staff. The rooms were quiet, very clean and a new favorite of mine! The staff made it easy for us to check in, find restaurants and ATMs, and answer any questions we had. Would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful family trip

My husband, my almost 4-year-old, and I stayed in a city flat. It was a very lovely room with lots of space for everyone. My in-laws stayed in a more standard room and were very pleased with the size of the room and the bathroom. All staff (reception, restaurant, and cleaning staff) were very helpful and pleasant. The building was charming with many of interesting, old features mixed with modern elements. The location was also perfect- next to the bus stop to go to the airport and right in the heart of the old town. If back in Salzberg, I would definitely stay here again. The entire family had nothing but good things to say about this hotel.

Will Stay Again!

A fabulous time! Next time we're in Salzburg, we're staying at Blaue Gans again. Excellent location, great rooms, great service - truly no complaints! Plus, lots of fun and interesting art throughout the hotel and the hotel library was a charming touch.

Fantastic hotel in the old town. Great location that is walking distance to museums, theatres, christmas markets, shopping, cafes and restaurants. Room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Design and decoration of the room and hotel was very nice. It was a bit hectic finding a spot to pull over to check in and take in our bags as this is a very busy area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is in a public garage up the street but the staff hepled guide us. Hotel gives a decent discount on the parking fee. Overall, 5 stars. Would definitely stay here again.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

Everything about Blue Gand was great. I highly recommend it when in Salzburg.

Was just OK. Was left wanting more from this hotel. Room was always cold despite calling down twice, they remote monitor temperature. The service and quality was more of a 3 star level than that of a 4 star. Location was fantastic but the details of the stay at this hotel missed the mark.

Ok, nice location, great Breakfast options, and great internet access. Room was small, and no desk or Fridge, made it very-very hard to work from it. The biggest drawback was reception was unhelpful, for simple requests, not what one expects from a 4 star hotel. Now I know the location is very-very good, but the room was down right tiny and the lack of a desk and fridge made far less enjoyable than it could have been, there was not even a chair. I was a single in a double room, but 2 people could not have been comfortable in the space as I was unable to even unpack a single bag.

needed to depart early for Florida to deal w hurricane Milton.. I asked for an exception due to a natural disaster re: my deposit .. and this hotel said NO! This has happened a few times in the past and every time the hotel understood the change in plans and did not charge me for a room i never showed up for AWFUL POLICY DO NOT STAY HERE !!! The more I dig, the more things re: customer service I am finding out AWFUL ENJOY MY MONEY FOR NOTHING YOU will NEVER see me ever try to stay in any hotel owned by this company

This space is beautiful!!! We had a studio room and it felt like an adventure going through the different halls and stairwells in the historic old building! Our room was quiet, clean, and extremely comfortable! The location was incredible in relation to sites we wanted to see, with gorgeous walks to the sites. Many good options nearby for food, again within easy walkable distance. We will definitely stay here again if/when we return to Salzburg!

This hotel would be my "go to" if I ever return to Saltzburg. My only critique would be the parking situation. They do not really have valet service. We left our vehicle at the front door when we arrived and it eventually got put into a parking lot. When we were ready to leave, they had to pull someone from the kitchen to retrieve our car!!! Really?

Hotel is nice but the service is terrible.

The woman at the checkin was terrible. She didn't provide any information about the hotel except for which elevator to use. I had to ask about breakfast and she didn't even understand the beverage credit that was offered as a silver member. Then I was told the bar/restaurant wasn't open this day so they couldn't even provide the voucher. I was offered a small bottle of prosecco but that would not have been my choice and clearly cost less than what was offered in the ad. When I arrived for breakfast, I was told i could sit anywhere so I picked a table. I went to the buffet but couldn't find coffee and was approached where it was explained that I order at the table. Sorry but this hotel has terrible organization. Why didn't the guy at the entrance explain this? Do hotels not understand that this ruins the entire experience for their guests?

Lovely place to stay in Old Salzburg. A walk to everything. Unique decor and staff very hospitable. Breakfast and dinner were excellent!

The location is wonderful but not easy to get to if parking a car. Surroundings are very busy in hub of shopping and tourism. Add the breakfast as it was great.

Worth the stay!

I booked a Double Room (medium) for 3 nights and the overall experience was great! 1) Location is 5* within walking distance to most places of interest and plenty of restaurants. 2). Both the room and bathroom are very spacious and clean with modern zen vibes. 3). As I did not want housekeeping, the considerate hotel staff left a bag of fresh towels and toiletries on my door daily. 4). Breakfast was good and their eggs were yummy. The only issue is that the air-con ventilation was inconsistent and would make loud noises. This is fine by me but maybe not for the light sleepers.

Beautiful building with interesting artwork. Loved the quiet reflection/ reading room. Superb location close to parking options. Friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was very good with excellent professional wait staff.

In the Middle of Everywhere

What a lovely find for a hotel. Centrally located and the staff was friendly and efficient at every interaction. I'd go back for sure!

Good hotel, bad WIFI

Very cute hotel in an amazing location. Close to many attractions in Salzburg. All within walking distance. My only complaint is the wifi is horrendous. It would always go out and certain parts of the room would have no wifi signal.

We loved this quirky and artsy hotel. The room was great as was breakfast.

Everything was great but I would like to make to recommendations 1. They can offer a few English Channels in TV 2. The TV in lunge area next to restaurant showing a short seen of the movie North by Northwest 24 hours a day which is annoying. I recommend to show seems from Salzburg or other part of Austria.

We enjoyed our stay here. Very clean, cute and comfortable place. It’s very conveniently located in old town with tons of restaurants and shopping around. We had a minor issue with AC and the staff were so prompt and helpful at fixing it. Definitely stay here!

Modern Hotel - Convenient Location

This hotel is in a great location in the old city. Attractions are in walking distance. The front desk staff was very efficient and made dinner reservations at an excellent restaurant the first night of our stay. The rooms are very modern and sterile. There is no mini fridge or coffee maker. The restaurant breakfast was adequate but not exceptional by European standards. We had dinner one evening in the restaurant which is alleged to be good. The service was terrible, the food mediocre, and the specialty dessert a flop. I wanted my family to see and taste a specialty-Salzburger Nockerl- that I had enjoyed on a prior trip. The Nockerl was uncooked and inedible. It should have been a beautiful soufflé. I complained to the waiter to no avail. The expensive dessert should have been removed from our bill.

Excellent location

Very Stylish! The quality of finish of the room was very good. Excellent breakfast and with linen tablecloths and napkins. The attention to detail is fantastic!

I loved the location! It was steps away from all the shopping and major sights. The rooms were all renovated and I loved the fact that everything in the minibar was included in your stay. The only drawback was because they were still doing renovations, it was quite tricky to get to our room. Our room was in the second floor but we had to take the elevator up to the third floor then go down to the second floor. My kids room was also weird as you had to walk down steps to get into the room. Made it a bit tricky especially with luggage. But I think once the renovations are done- it should be fine.

Great location in the middle of old Salzburg. Very cool Vibe with spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, higher end bedding and delicious breakfast. Very helpful staff. Love the art on the walls and at the entrance. We walked all over the area. It’s a great spot and very quiet too. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Location is great. Hotel staffs are very nice and helpful. Restaurant food is very good. Room layout is Ok. Too many drapes and feels muggy. Bathroom is great. Hotel is clean. I love the free hot tea everyday.

Great artsy vibe. Great service. Unique, hip spot right in the heart of Salzburg Altstadt. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the restaurant was on point.

We had a wonderful stay here. The location was incredibly central making it easy to walk to restaurants and different sights.

Perfect location

The staff is excellent! I cannot say enough about that. However, I would not recommend having a car. Public transport or taxi is easier to reach the hotel. Also, the beds themselves are very hard, but you can ask the staff to put down a mattress cushion - they are glad to do it. Food there is excellent!

We enjoyed our stay at this property, so gorgeous. We booked the city flat and it was so spacious. The reception was great and very helpful. It is also located conveniently, walking distance to all attractions and next to bus stop for farther destinations. And we enjoyed the hotel restaurant that was delicious!

Staff was extremely lovely. Breakfast was great! A few tweaks - change the light sensor in the room WCs to a night light and where the guest can turn on/off the light in case of nighttime visits - bright light hard to get back to sleep. It was a great hotel and would highly recommend to anyone! We loved it.

A very comfortable and well appointed hotel in an idyllic location. The room was spacious and well designed with a large bathroom and separate sitting area. We loved the history of the hotel and position opposite the horse pond and backing on to the shopping street. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great Art Hotel Even if You Are not into Art

We had a delightful stay at this place. The staff were wonderful and the room spacious, clean and attractive. The hallways are worth walking around in both because of the building itself and also the art work.

This hotel was located in a great area. Very safe and several nice restaurants close to hotel. Bus goes right by the front door for easy touring around the city.. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was great!

Brilliant Professional Personable Excellent

We stayed for 3 nights and the property is very clean, staff were helpful and friendly. We felt extremely safe and it is in a great location. They were helpful with giving us firm pillows which we really appreciated! The room was modern and spacious. We would definitely recommend this property and would certainly stay here again!

This hotel is easy to find, excellent restaurant in front of the hotel ..on the street/ patio. The reception was very helpful with our train and bus schedules. She went out of her way. Could speak English which was helpful to us. The room is very clean and quiet. We had the breakfast which was delicious but to be honest expensive. But it is a buffet so you could eat to get your value. You could skip lunch. No problem walking around to see the sites. Highly recommend this hotel !

The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. When I got into my room the bed wasn’t made, the air conditioner was very loud, and I think that might be the worst bed that I’ve ever slept on.

Too short a stay

Just a one night stay in this superbly located hotel made us wish we were staying longer - fantastic staff and a beautiful hotel

Staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was ready early and they allowed me to check in early. The breakfast options were great and they made me a fresh egg (or two) to my liking and offered bacon as well. Beautiful view from the room and the room itself was perfect. Wish I could have stayed longer.

This property is situated in a very prime location and it’s a quick walk to most of the touristy points. It’s an old building with too many steps and one will need to deal with hauling their heavy bags/suitcases. Overall a beautiful place to stay in and with super friendly staff.

# 1 is location for us...and Blauegans is just that. Just walk out the door to the best shopping street in "altstadt". The hotel is very chic and modern...we liked it very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also like the breakfast buffet....but would like to see bacon added to the menu.

Driving a rental car, probably you are coming into Old Town Salzburg thru the tunnel. Just as you emerge from the tunnel there is a traffic light. Turn left. Immediately on your right is the BLUE exterior of the Blaue Gans (blue goose) hotel. There is a back in car unloading spot for one, maximum 2 cars. Don’t miss this! You will be right outside the reception desk. The nice folks there will tell you all about the relatively nearby paid parking.

Nice hotel in great location. Not snobby or over the top luxury, but extremely pleasant. Location is the best possible. Pretty much everything is within walking distance. It’s OLD, but they’ve made that funky and charming.

The hotel was lovely. The rooms were spacious and clean (we had a standard double room). The reception staff were exceptional, they were very friendly and went out of the way to help us. The main areas for sightseeing in Salzburg were easily within walking distance and the stop for the airport bus (number 10) was just at the hotel entrance. I would definitely stay there again.

Great location and friendly staff. Wasn't able to eat at the restaurant as it was very popular and didn't make reservations in time, which was unfortunate. The room was small, but comfortable. I forgot to ask about the VIP benefit and I wish they would've mentioned it. Overall a nice experience.

Gem in old town.

The location was amazing and very close to everything - 5 minute walk to the castle and the heart of old town. The room was unique and very well appointed.
