A dump!

The only positive about this hostel is that the staff were pleasant and the email communicaiton was clear. Other than that, this place is a dump in need of major upgrade. The common area couches and seats were dingy, sagging and really tired. The bathroom and toilets left a lot to be desired. When I booked this "hotel", I was informed that I had one twin bunk bed. It turns out I was sharing one of 8 bunk beds in the room. The room was full of unwashed body odor. The beds were uncomfortable and rickety. Fortunately, I had booked this place just to store my luggage for the day before I took a flight out that evening. I used the room for a couple of hours rest before my flight.

Short stay in Buenos Aires

A friend and I stayed at the Art Factory in San Telmo for 3 nights as part of a trip around south America and I can thoroughly recommend it. It is a pleasant hostel around 20mins walk from some of the key tourist spots in Buenos Aires through perfectly safe areas. There is an indoor bar area that is open in the evenings and a nice rooftop terrace too. You're not allowed to bring your own drinks in, but the prices in the bar aren't too bad, though we would have liked them to open a bit earlier, I don't think the bar opens until 5.30pm. The reception staff are helpful and can book taxis (agreed rates for things like airport transfers) and suggest places to visit around Buenos Aires. Entry to the building can be a little tricky, someone at reception has to buzz you in and then you'll have to carry luggage up some stairs with a slightly awkward door. Not a huge issue, but a little inconvenient. My friend and I shared a private twin room with a shared bathroom immediately across the corridor. The bedroom was fine, plenty of space and quiet at night and even when our nearest bathroom was occupied there are several more fairly nearby. If/when I ever come back to Buenos Aires I would happily stay here again.

Friendly staff but average facilities

Pros: situated at quite near to everything , near metro and bus stops, well situated for exploration of the city. Staff are nice and helpful. The place is well decorated and with a roof top terrace that is good for enjoying music and drink from the bar. There is a kitchen with cooking utensils , microwave and refrigerator for use . There is a common place with sofas and computer for meeting new people or just searching for information . Cons: The hotel itself is a rather old building and some of the walls and floors worn out, accumulating dust. I once dropped a wet towel onto the floor of my single room, it stuck with a layer of dirts when I picked it up. Kitchen is tiny and the cooking untensils are just adequate for 2 people cooking at the same time. The hot water in my roomwasn't promising and finally I used the public shower to have hot shower. The breakfast is not included and costs an extra of 150 pesos for very basic breakfast.

The rooftop bar provided a really nice outdoor area. A bit unclearly for my liking and the dorms were quite dark.

Hostel had bed bugs but tried their best to solve

We stayed here in Feb 2019 and two rooms we stayed in had bed bugs. The hostel did try to help clear them but couldn’t move us to a room without them. The bathrooms aren’t great either. The area is good and the bar and terrace are very nice.

Cheap n cheerfull..! It's a backpackers in a great location of the city. Staff are very helpful and friendly....but its a backpackers not a posh hotel But great value to money to me, I even extended my stay....

Great Place To Stay in BA

A really great place. Quirky decor, loads of atmosphere, friendly staff and an excellent location. Really good breakfast too.

A relaxed yet social stay

In comparison to Millhouse a few blocks away the Art house is super chilled with a lower key, yet still social scene on the rooftop terrace and the bar. Breakfast was the usual hostel fare, but done well. Beds were comfy and rooms clean, but note lockers were only big enough for valuables.

Staff was awesome ! Warm welcoming ! Dirty showers and no hot water at all (they told me at the arrival, but still). Insonorisation is weak, but like 90% of the hostels. Other than that, the location is great. Walkable from a lot of sites. I’ll return despite some imperfections !

Area is decent enough. Close to subway, laundry and walking distance to most things. Terrace is great and hostel is rather social.

Great hostel in perfect location

Brilliant hostel with very homey, friendly feel and great staff who were willing to help with anything. The location is perfect, very close to the metro and with historic San Telmo in easy walking distance on one side and the Plaza de Mayo and city centre on the other. Rooms are fine, the breakfast is simple but very nice, and the common areas are lovely. Would strongly recommend and wish I had been able to stay longer to check out more of the activities offered.

Good hostel!

I was only on a short stopover but I found the hostel good, functional, and in a great location for getting my domestic flight following morning.. would visit again and may so towards the end of my trip!

Good location, walking distance to anything you might need, or buses close by (buy your SUBE card before boarding). Friendly, helpful staff. The free walking tour was great.

i would never choose this hostel again. it was dirty, smelly and noisy. We had a private room with bathroom and the bed and room smelled. the bathroom was very dirty. we did have hot water which was one good feature. the front desk staff were helpful and polite. the roof top was a nice place to have a drink. we could not wait to leave because our room was the worst.

Good hostel, but no so good neighborhood

The rooms are relatively clean. Breakfast is good, but could change a little (it's exactly the sme everyday). Rooms next to the bar are too noisy. Neighborhood apparently it's not so safe and far from other importante neighborhoods, as Recoleta and Plaermo.

Great first time experience in BA!

The Art Factory hostel is well located, in San Telmo. Rooms were ok...a bit smelly. What made it great was the staff, always there to help out with directions, touring activities and general information. Adrian in particular was plain awesome...even helped me out with painful blisters. Do not leave the place! The roof top terrasse was also a great way to meet fellow travellers over a few drinks. Definitely worth the money. I would go back.

Um lugar muito agradável! Banheiros sempre limpos e quartos confortáveis. Localização perfeita e as pessoas que aqui trabalham são muito solícitas. Recomendo sem ressalva.

It was okay, but the bedsheets was dirty at arrival. The plans that were at det weekplanner wasn´t followed, and when we asked about it the staff didn´t know. The area was okay, short way to the metro. The bar upstairs was empty, but maybe it´s better when there´s a lot of tourists.

No geral foi bom!

A localização é excelente, perto dos principais pontos turísticos do centro da cidade. O bairro de San Telmo é ótima gostei bastante. O hostel não decepcionou, limpeza ok no quarto que fiquei, as camas ok, nada luxuoso, mas tudo agradável, ão menos as coisas eram limpas. Eu hospedaria novamente.

Experiência única! Bem localizado, excelente acomodação e funcionários muito simpáticos. Os grafites nas paredes tornam a estadia bem leve e divertida!

O atendimento foi perfeito, todos os funcionários muito atenciosos, porém havia muito barulho no local principalmente a noite e madrugada, o ralo do banheiro exalava um odor de esgoto, quarto sem janela e ventilação natural.

O hotel tem o preço acessível e é muito bem localizado, no centro de buenos Aires. Mas falta fazer uma reforma nas instalações e o edredom do quarto é encardido.

Déçus

Nous avions réservé une chambre double pour 4 nuits. À notre arrivée, notre réservation n’avait pas été prise en compte et nous nous sommes retrouvés dans un dortoir de 8 personnes pour les 4 jours, sans excuse ni remise commerciale de la part du personnel. Pour accéder au dortoir dans lequel nous étions : nécessité de passer par une zone à l’extérieure (ce n’est pas le cas pour les autres chambres), il faisait donc très froid (pas de chauffage). De plus, dortoir à côté du bar donc très bruyant. Pas d’eau chaude à notre étage mais nous avons découvert après une douche glacée que l’étage en dessous en avait. Au total : déçu de cette expérience, les autres dortoirs ou chambres sont peut être mieux mais je vous déconseille vivement le dortoir 4

Les chambres sont très variables on a du en faire 3 avant de trouver une bien (pas de fenêtre, lits diff,bruyante,...) Les sdb commune sont plus des douches usines (pas d’espace, collés,...) Sinon le personnel est sympathique et l’esprit Est sympa, hôtel très bien situé en revanche

Antigo mas, atendimento e limpeza excelente

O atendimento é excelente, limpeza também mas, o hostel é antigo, inclusive o bairro é todo antigo, para quem ama história é o melhor lugar. Ficamos no quarto e banheiro privativo, o banheiro era bem pequeno, mas limpo todos os dias... Vale o custo x benefício...

cuidado por que el aviso es un poco confuso pense que era una habitacion de dos con litera compartida con baño y cuando llegamos era de 8 compartida unixes, a otro muchacho le paso lo mismo, la cerradura de la habitacion no funcionaba, el resto bien!

Veldig kult hostel og veldig hjelpsomme i resepsjonen, var derimot utrolig bråkete på kveldene og utover natten i andre etasje hvor baren er, og mange folk som løp rundt utenfor rommene våres så det ble vanskelig å sovne.

A pesar de su sencillo establecimiento, podemos encontrar un lugar muy agradable y reconfortante para los turistas, de todas las nacionalidades.
