Everything was good, the buffet, the room, the pools, the only thing I think should be better is the night shows, if you are not in the front line basically you can't see it

Staff were amazing and even upgraded us with no extra charge. I fell ill and they did everything to help medically. All the staff were kind including bar staff and cleaners. The kids entertainers were great with all the kids and really patient. Just sooooo impressed. Can’t fault the place at all. Happily go back there which is something we don’t usually do. Really happy.

Checkin was a breeze. They upgraded my room. Very clean. Our family enjoyed the many food options. Water was cold in April but kids loved the slides. Georgios at check in took extra care to make sure the chef knew of my son’s allergies. This property is well kept, and service was great.concierge gave great recommendations to see the area. Hotel is a 15 minute taxi from airport and we arrived early. Delighted that we were able to access our room immediately and even had a complementary upgrade. We can honestly recommend the swim up rooms, and location right on beachfront was amazing. The mini bar only sticks a small selection of fizzy soft drinks and a couple of bottles of still water. So don’t expect wine or beer! Staff were without fail polite and helpful. Thank you so much for making our stay so relaxing and lovely.

Hotel is really pleasing on the eye, very welcoming arrival at Reception! View from our penthouse room was incredible, such amazing sunset views. The downfall for us was the food, apart from the Asian Restaurant which was incredible. The other food areas did offer much variety or flavour. The pool areas were great but very very cold. The evening entertainment could have been a lot better to engage more of the hotel stayers but overall our stay was nice.

Great place to stay, everyone made our experience a pleasure.

Resort is beautiful and offers a very good view. All inclusive includes breakfast, lunch and dinner; which is good value for your money. However, some of the food options were dry ans lacking in taste. Friendly and accommodating staff. Rooms are big and clean.

This is a really nice all-inclusive. The property has many places to eat. Don't waste your time on the Asian or the A-la-Carte places.

Had entertainment and great food choices. Would have preferred a room near the beach.

Really lovely hotel, went for a week and enjoyed every min of it.

Check-in was excellent and the receptionist were welcoming , however as soon as we entered the rooms we noticed tiny moths, no hand soap and dirty sheets, which we then complained to the reception team too. They helped with the sheets but failed to eliminate the moths and gave us a bar soap for our hands. Overall the facilities were great with good amenities, but what frustrated us was they refused to turn on the tennis court lights when it got dark (for no apparent reason). The food was mostly tasteful but cold and the service was very non challant. Overall I rate the place a 3/5

All-inclusive catering to large tour groups. Food is average and certainly not 4 star. Rooms are clean but lack duvets, just a single bedsheet, and the fire safety light gives the room a bright green glow that you cannot lower; greatly disturbing sleep. The staff are very nice, but I just can't recommend the hotel as a 4 star. It's 2 at best.

Excellent hotel. Location was good and on-site facilities were good. Range of food was excellent but not as hot as I like it on occasions. All drinks at bars were strong and served speedily. Would choose to return so it must have been good !!

The main restaurant and pool complex were great, the restaurants were both excellent and the staff were brilliant. The rooms were a disappointment, the rooms shown on the web site are in the main hotel block and I assume quite new. The bungalows are older and are in need of an upgrade. When we booked the hotel website said there was a kids pool. This has since been changed and there is no kids pool. This was disappointing as the main pool has no children's area and is not heated, so quite cold for infants.

The photos of the rooms online are misleading as the rooms are quite old and the bathrooms are very rundown. The cats running around the restaurant is very off putting and also all of the cats around the hotel, all we could smell when walking to our room was cat urine not nice. Hotel was ok but not the 4 stars I was expecting, we felt disappointed.

Our first stay at an all inclusive resort. All very accessible, and all staff friendly and super helpful.

The resort is right on a sandy beach, lots of sunbeds available by the beach and pool. The restaurant is large with good selection of food. Some of the rooms were dated.

Brilliant food at buffet. Chef and concierge staff very attentive. Waiting and bar staff could have been more enthusiastic... felt a little like they didn’t want to be there! Brilliant pool and activities. A little playground or slide for the kids would be great, but then it was also nice that the Kids stuff was low key or there would have been more of them running around! Room was lovely, great view and the maids were very friendly and did an excellent job! Overall a brilliant stay and I would go back again!

Beautiful views of the coastline from a fantastic beach. Swimming conditions were great and beach chairs were accomodating!! The food was very well thought out and cooked for buffet style. Also just a short walk up the road, there were some excellent restaurants either on the main drag or by the sea. Nice to get out and experience some of the culture and authentic eats. Thank you to all the staff

This property though small in size and lacking much besides the pools for the kids was excellent. It was clean and tidy, modern and provided everything we needed for a two week holiday. Not sure what I would provide in the low season when the pools/sea aren't warm enough for swimming.

We usually don't write many reviews but are making an exception this time for Arina beach resort . Have had an absolutely amazing time there,for many reasons like a top notch- all inclusive buffet,perfect ambience and location, lovely and clean pools,excellent staff to name a few.A perfect family holiday destination,would really recommend it. Cleanliness and general maintenance is great,caters to guests of all ages.A convenient shop indoors stocked with regular essentials,spa facilities,live entertainment every night were definitely appreciated. In short-a five star experience !!

Good facilities, unfortunate incident on beach

Had a lovely stay, Riene in particular in the restaurant was fantastic and very caring - a credit to the hotel. The rooms were slightly outdated but the facilities made up for it. The food and drink were lovely. Serious incident on the beach highlighted that the hotel need to update their health and safety policy and it did take the shine off the rest of the stay.

Location was brilliant and the staff are outstanding!! The pool is beautiful and any closer to the water, you would be sleeping in it!! Well worth the stay.

Family friendly, clean all inclusive resort

We were delighted by staying in a completely new renovated room with separate pool wich was absolutely great. Hotel pool is big and spacious but you have to be into the Entertainment (water gym/fun and loud music) several times a Day. Located on a Nice Beach good for smaller kids on one side (lagoon) as water here is shallow. All inclusive concept works very well - huge buffet with wellknown kid friendly meals. Only but is the noise of numerious planes passing at low height over the resort to land in Heraklion airport. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Good food. Nice beach and pool. It is all inclusive which made it very reasonable. Good retreat for a day or two. You need a car if you are going to explore Crete from here. Close to the airport.

Good facilities for a family. But the rooms weren't very clean and the general hallways of the hotel are a bit run down/worn carpets. Perhaps it depends which building you're staying in a there are many. Grounds very clean and well kept.

Stayed here one night after arriving at the airport. This place was great! Very nice property, great food, comfortable bed. And really great views. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel had amazing food and the servers were very nice and friendly. The only issue me and my friend had with this location was with the entertainment team, we thought it was weird that they were allowed to drink alcohol while working. One time, people believed they were intoxicated during a magic show. Another thing we found different was on sundays they get the day off, which obviously everyone should be allowed, but they were drinking on the beach/pool with guests. Other than that resort was clean and food was tasty !

Decent hotel, but poor food.

I'll start with the positives: the room had a great view, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the beach was absolutely lovely. The rooms and facilities in general are kept quite clean and things were generally in good repair. That said, we were overall disappointed in our stay. The shower in our room was under-powered and under-heated; the bed was uncomfortable and, instead of being a king as we requested, was just 2 twins pushed together. And, most importantly, the food was abysmal. We stayed for 4 nights, during which time, not one dinner was good. Even on the Greek theme night, which you'd think would be their specialty, everything was either mushy or hard as a rock and all completely bland. The a la Carte restaurant may have been better than the buffet -- but they were booked up more than a week in advance, so we never got to try it. (Who is staying at this place long enough to book that far out?!) Given the great beach and overall quality of the facilities, the place is a decent value. But if you stay here, do yourself a favor, and plan on eating some (if not most) of your meals elsewhere.

It was a nice hotel right on the beach,very short distance from the airport, good facilities.

A nice stay

Booked this stay last minute as our ferry ship was cancelled. The room was nice and clean and the bathroom shower pressure was nice. The food was excellent and had many choices. We ate the breakfast buffet twice, the lunch once and booked a reservation at the fancy dining area. The service was speedy and polite. The beach area was nice and clean. The pool area was huge with lots of seating for sun bathing. All in all a very nice stay.

Definitely Recommended!

The staff - in every position - was friendly and helpful with high service level. The room was very clean, every day! The restaurant had a grade range of delicious food (really supreme taste) and every night a different cuisine theme buffet was offered. At the bars (main and pool) you can find a variety of drinks and cocktails. The pool was crystal clear with plenty of sun beds. The activities were funny and the night -live music- entertainment amazing. Outside the hotel there's a bus stop ( in case you don't have/rent a car). Ideal for families, kids, couples and friends at any age!

Our overall stay was nice. The room size and AC were a definite plus. The cleanliness of the room however was terrible, the bathroom in particular. The tub had visible soap and water scum and looked like I hasn’t been cleaned in a while. The toilet seat was dirty when we checked in as well. The vent in the bathroom had dust caked on it and clearly hasn’t been dusted off in months. The bed was comfortable and the view from the balcony with sea view was better than I expected. The beach was also nice. It had a bunch of seaweed compared to other beaches on Crete but overall was beautiful. The hotel was close to the airport and you can hear planes while relaxing on the beach. The food, drinks and alcohol that was included was decent considering the cost per night and being all you can eat and drink. The staff was very nice and helpful. The pool was really nice too. I personally would not stay at this hotel again because in it cleanliness and location but if you are looking for something all inclusive and inexpensive this would be a good choice.

Near to the HER airport (but you can hear planes), half-empty beach (no morning runs for beach beds), tasty meals, very nice shared areas, suite rooms could use some renovation.

Great location, staff and facilities. Room was kept very clean by the staff and they were all courteous. The buffet style food was tasty and regularly topped up to ensure there wasn't empty servings. If I had a complaint it was that there were never enough staff on the hotel bars. Guests regularly had to queue to get drinks and this was still the case in the evenings when there were even more guests wanting to order drinks. More than one person per bar was definitely needed. Overall recommended.

Nice hotel, right on the sandy beach. Warm water, delicious food, lots of activities.

Standard rooms in a very good facility

Fairly standard hotel room, but cleaned and serviced to a high standard every day. Hotel facilities are excellent, as was food variety and quality. The pool is probably the best we've had. Only down side was the noise from the nearby dual carriageway.

It was very nice, loved the beach, hotel staff are excellent, happy and professional. Albi & Lestheri were my favourite barmen, made me my favourite drink every time. The location is perfect. The food was awesome and it will make you want to stay here every hour of your trip. I would definitely recommend made this hotel, made our trip one to remember forever!

Comfortable and on the beach!

Late check in as flight was delayed but the staff was really helpful. All in all a great stay.

Family holiday

Cracking holiday in October, everything you could as for in a 4 star. Food was good and the hotel was quiet this time of year. There was just enough entertainment on as was after a quiet break.

Great staff, OK hotel

Hotel was OK, has seen better days but was comfortable enough. Food was variable from very good to just OK depending on the day but you won't go hungry. Drinks not so good, the wine on tap isn't pretty awful and the beer lacks any real taste. What made it was the staff - whilst there were a couple of miserable faces there were several that really wanted to be there and look after you - Maria on reception and Irini in the restaurants for example. We would go back and are looking to already for next May however we'll take our own wine!

Family holiday

Hotel was clean and comfortable although did need updating. Beach access and the beach itself were fantastic. Food was good, could have been a little more variety but quality was high. Staff were excellent at the hotel

Clean and welcoming but rather basic

It was supposed to be our well deserved family holiday after a difficult year. The general impression of the hotel when we first arrived was rather depressing; grey concrete buildings, some greenery but very little colour. I was pleasantly surprised though and very grateful to be given a room and a possibility to have breakfast before the official check-in time. We were desperate for some rest after an all night journey. Sadly, the room turned out to be very disappointing. Basic furniture, small beds, a simple chair and a coffee table, bathroom clean but in need of some update and renovation. Kids were disappointed about the lack of WiFi signal in the room and the swimming pool which was on a smallish side and had sea water. We were determined to make the most of our week's holiday though and decided to go out as much as we could. The hotel location is excellent for that with easy access to Heraklion, a waterpark and an aquarium. Shops, restaurants and car rental places are all nearby. On the whole it was an enjoyable week and we managed to make the most of our holiday. We would probably chose a better hotel next time.

Budget hotel that should be rated 2-3 stars

We had a nice stay at the hotel but be warned that it is a budget all-inclusive hotel. The hotel should be only rated 2-3 stars. Our room was very clean but the hotel is very old and shows ugly wear and tear. The food is OK but you can tell that every single thing from the juice to desserts are cheap quality. The beach in front of the hotel is small and dirty. It would be fine if someone cleaned it but it was dirty from the people and large amount of seaweed. We used two beaches that are adjacent to the hotel. The one on the left with a Beach club is the best, only 2 minute walk and free if you buy drinks. The staff were very nice. The kids disco was really fun for our 6 years old but I was not comfortable with the kids club as there is no system for signing in and out and not much accountability at the pool. We used the spa to get massages. They were really good for the exception of the fact that there is only one massage room and there are two tables in it. So if they spa is booked you will have another strange person laying next to you...not the most relaxing situation. The hotel is very close to the airport which is a plus after a flight but it is not in a very nice area of the island. We rented a car and spend 3 days driving around finding beautiful beaches and nice villages. Overall if you are looking for a budget all-inclusive it will suffice. But if you are expecting a 4 start hotel, like it is rated, you will be disappointed.

Aquis Arina Sand Hotel - not to bad

Honeymoon in Crete

My wife and I went to the Aquis Arina Sand for our honeymoon and it couldn't have been a better experience. Not only is it in picturesque Heraklion with it's perfect sunsets, peaceful atmosphere and warm clean sea, but the staff and all that we met there are lovely, accommodating people. From the second we got there the staff was very kind and took us to our bungalow on the sea which had a complimentary bottle of Crete bubbly and a fruit plate. It was a very nice touch to start off our honeymoon after a long 19 hour trip to get there from our home in Canada. The next 9 days were filled with awesome food from around the world, pleasant staff interactions, and relaxing time spent by the pool and sea. While we were there to just relax and unwind, there was plenty of activities offered at little or no cost at all. The resort has an arcade, pool & ping pong tables, as well as rentals of jet skis, paddle surfing boards and even parasailing. The 'Animation Team' is terrific. They put on activities and shows every night such as traditional Greek dancing, performance art and dance parties. Throughout the day they are seen greeting guests and ensuring everyone is having a good time as well as running beach volleyball, water polo and other activities. I could go on a lot more about our terrific experience there, but will sum up my review by saying it was a pleasure to be there and would recommend it to anyone. Crete is beautiful, and the people there are lovely.

awesome stay

great people, great food, it was all around pleasant

This is not a 4 star hotel !

We arrived to this presumed 4 star hotel and instantly understood that we are not going to stay. This is a very basic hotel, this hotel good days are long been forgotten. Even the staff is indifferent. The room is basic and undermaintained. We tried to cancel the reservation with the help of expedia but the hotel stuff could not help and there was no manager to speak to! Amazing! We found a better hotel and after one unpleasant night left to a great hotel.

Stunning location

The reception staff were very helpful giving us ideas for sightseeing trips. Providing us with DVDs and games such as My Rummy, Scrabble and Tripple Dominoes. Also played Tennis, Table Tennis and Air Hockey. Best of all was the chance to take a dip in the sea water as the beach was at the end of the hotel. The restaurant staff including the manager, chef and catering staff were all very friendly and helpful.

5 Tage pure Erholung. Das Hotel ist super, einfach alles. Super nettes Personal, sehr gutes Essen, die Anlage. Perfekt. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.

This is truly a great hotel for people looking for a full inclusive stay. Personnel is very qualified and helpful. Everyone is also very nice and attentive to details. Everything is remarkably clean and cleaning crew deserves nothing but praises. The food is also truly surprising by its quality, very fresh, tasteful and a gigantic choice. The buffet changes a bit everyday and there are options for any diet. The buffet is actually so good that both 'a la carte' restaurants feel underwhelming in comparison. Very good option for families with young children as there are water slides, pools everywhere, games, quality activities every nights and a gigantic beach. The tiny gym is functional but not remarkable. The only real downside to know before you go there is that planes fly almost above the hotel to land in Heraklion. Noise is not overwhelming but you hear it clearly. It gets a bit annoying on the long run as they are very frequent during the day. Overall a wonderful stay.

Super Hotel für All Inclusive Familienferien

Es gibt nichts Negatives zu sagen, es war super. Sauber, freundlich. Sehr gute Hotelanlage. Mit vielen Angeboten für Familien. Und nur 10 Min. Vom Flughafen entfernt.

Très bel hôtel avec des belles infrastructures il est grand et on a pas l impression d être les uns sur les autres.peu de clientèle francophone essentiellement des anglais et allemands. Mieux vaut avoir quelques notions d anglais! Le petit bémol par ce qu il y en a un: la nourriture !que nous n avons pas trouvé top top comme on a pu le lire dans d autres commentaires. On Sait les français sont chiants avec la bouffe … mais pour avoir fait un autre club en crete on y a mieux mangé. Donc un petit effort sur la nourriture pour séduire les français et ce sera le top. Je tenai aussi à remercier Arina beach pour la délicate attention surprise qu a reçu ma fille pour son anniversaire elle a eu droit à un gâteau monté en chambre pour ses 14 ans. Sinon cet hôtel est top bien situé mais il vaut mieux louer une voiture pour aller explorer les environs, un bureau de location est disponible au sein de l hôtel 😉
