I loved the beautiful hot springs and the grounds were peaceful and beautiful.
Nice large suite with a beautiful view of the Volcano! The thermal spa pools are lovely, and the property is well maintained. Friendly staff and good service at check in!
My boyfriend and I stayed for three nights in the family suite and we had an amazing time. We saw the volcano right from our room each morning. The pools were amazing and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food and drink were delicious. Highly recommend for a romantic or family getaway
Beautiful hotel is like staying in paradise. Staff is incredible.
Love it
The facility was nice. The staff was wonderful.
Food was incredible! Being in the rainforest, the foliage on property was gorgeous! Rained our whole stay there so did not get any views of the volcano unfortunately.
Overall a great experience
We picked this one for the volcano view from the balcony in the room. But our room is on the first floor, a lot of trees and plants blocked our view. Very disappointed. Other than this, it’s a beautiful hotel with good service.
Temperature of hot springs and bathrooms hot water were too low. Hotel was old. Mattress was too poor quality and noisy . Sofa’s bed was too bad and noisy. Interior Hot tub was pretty bad and made all the room wet. All staff were very friendly. Location was beautiful. Food was great but room service menu was limited. All in all together it is too much expensive for no reasons.
Beautiful resort however had very loud people up all night very loud moving furniture so we asked to be moved however they said they do t have any other openings and so 2 of our days were spent with very loud disrespectful neighbors lesson learned request top floor room because not worth $350 a night to hear people stomping and moving furniture all night long
Hotel views and rooms were amazing. Grounds were also ideal. Close to arenal as possible. Hot springs on site were also very cool! Large rooms and super comfortable.
Great food, wonderful staff and absolutely stunning property!!
Amazing
Amazing views, very clean and everyone was incredibly nice!
Great location and large.sized rooms. Hot tub in room is a plus. Problem is thst there is no hot.water.in showers.even though we.complained twice. Hotel is dated but still nice. They need more.lights in the room.
Very nice property. Great time to kick back and relax. Breakfast was very good. Couldn’t see the Volcano because of the time we went but it was still nice.
Excellent experience
Absolutely wonderful experience. Google says it’s a five star hotel, which we do not agree with however for the price you are paying and what you are receiving it was such a great value. You are close to everything, all the other fancy double the price hotels, and Hot Springs Fraction of the cost. The mattresses are comfortable. Rooms are clean. The facilities are old and a bit dated, as is the gym, but otherwise everything was super. One thing to know, there was a wedding one night during our stay and the music went on until 11 PM. We had a 5 AM wake up time the next morning, so that was a bit frustrating, but the management was deeply apologetic and comped some of our room charges. I guess somebody was supposed to alert us upon check-in of the upcoming private event. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is a full breakfast, with an omelette station, and delicious fresh fruit. We had dinner there one night and the food is decent for dinner. Granted we did not come to Costa Rica for a culinary experience. Very conveniently located, it did not take us more than 12 minutes to get to any of our activities or meals. Despite the dated amenities and structure, I would in fact stay here again.
Room 1102 had no hot water in the shower. Show floor is flat so water doesn’t drain properly and spills into a room floor. Everything else was okey, average.
The beauty and phenomenal amenities were only surpassed by the excellence and kindness of the staff! Pros: each room is oriented towards a breathtaking view of the Volcan Arenal so that, if you're so inclined, you can sit on your balcony from early morning until sunset enjoying the various moods of the mountain. The rooms are spacious and well apportioned with high vaulted ceilings, very comfortable beds, and many extra amenities (and spotlessly clean). Morning breakfast is nothing short of phenomenal with offerings for every taste served in the main dining room with 20 ft windows opening up to views of the volcano. The numerous pools and hot springs on the property were immaculately clean, not crowded and had plenty of relaxation areas. That said, the best part of the stay hands down was the staff. Professional, kind, extremely attentive and above all friendly, their efforts catapulted this stay into something so memorable! Cons: while a minor point, the restaurant needs some re-tooling in their menus for lunch and dinner as the fare is fairly pedestrian and to our palate, bland for Costa Rica. A better bet is the nightly BBQ offered by the pool- tons of good food and a wonderful atmosphere. Overall: having stayed at both Tabacon and Arenal Kioro, this is far and away the better of the two for value, excellence and location (it is much closer to the volcano than Tabacon). Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Amazing, loved to here all the wildlife.
Beautiful views of Arenal Volcano
Can’t wait to go back in February
Excellent stay. Bartenders were amazing.
Spent 8 nights here and was a wonderful stay
the property was beautiful, the staff was quick to respond, everything was fantastic, the breakfast was great, and the room views were spectacular. great experience.
This is probably the best hotel we’ve stayed in our whole Costa Rica trip! If I had to pick one negative thing is their septic system. You cannot flush toilet papers in the toilet bowl and I find it disgusting esp if you have to do #2.
The most beautiful grounds ever. You are just engulfed in the rainforest right on the property. So all kinds of tropical life from our hotel room I have to add that the staff, especially Carlos and Gabriel went above and beyond to make our dining experience excellent.
Great Eco Friendly Hotel with Amazing Views
We loved the location for day trips. Complimemsry access to Titoku hot springs was a nice bonus. We had Breakfast included and it had lots of variety. Service was good. Grounds beautiful, lots of birds. There are a few sloths that are on property. Unfortunately we didn't see them. We attended the coffee and chocolate onsite tour and enjoyed.
This is an average or slightly above average hotel. Staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet is very good. It is not close to to town but Uber worked fine. Nice view of the volcano
Clean space service facilities food location and the beautiful view
Excellent location. Love this property! It was super quiet and private. Breathtaking view of the volcano. The room was quite spacious and well kept. I will definitely love to visit again!
Beautiful place
Very helpful and friendly staff. Huge rooms with great views. Very clean but a little outdated. It’s a ten minute drive to town but close to hiking and lake arenal activities. The food was ok … the food in town was better. Overall, I’d stay here again.
Very relaxing and tranquil stay. Incredible service at the restaurants and front desk
The food... Omg the food. I've traveled to many countries and even lived in Italy for several years. The food here is by far the best I've ever had. The spa was fantastic and their masseuses were worth every penny. Get the "Traditional" complimentary breakfast. It's perfection. The rooms are amazing, the view was incredible, the grounds are gorgeous, and the pool and hot springs are clean and serene.
Beautiful property with amazing view of Arenal Volcano from our rooms. Appreciated the friendly staff and service from the gate keeper to check in clerk. Would recommend.
The views are breathtaking.
Absolutely stunning resort. Beautiful view of the volcano, lots of birds and flowers. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Very little hot water in the shower. The hot springs were neat but are man made.
The property is amazing, depending on what room options you get your in for a treat. This property has all the amenities you need including a private beach area just for hotel guests. Book extra days at this property; its worth it.
Would totally recommend this hotel to anyone going to the Arenal area. Stunning view of the volcano from our bed!! Loved the hot spas at the hotel, the vegetation around the property and the friendliness of the staff were above our expectations.
The rooms were large and gorgeous. Incredible view of the volcano. The grounds were lovely to walk. I went to the Titoku hot springs off site, but the hot springs on the property were a lot nicer. I stumbled into them on my last day 😁. The food was good and the service was great (I might go into town next time for some local restaurants). Overall a really fantastic stay.
The views and quality of this resort is worth every penny.
Esoectacular
La vista de la habitación, el jacuzzi espectacular, el personal muy amable, desayuno variado. Definitivamente la mejor opción, las piscinas de aguas termales una belleza.
Awesome view, great property. Safe, gated entry. Food is good but not great.
Amazing Resort
Amazing resort, wonderful staff, great food, would highly recommend.
The staff was awesome!
La locación excelente , los cuartos con una maravillosa vista hacían al volcán, jacuzzi y muy limpio todo ..sin duda regresaremos
My room had an amazing volcano view and the jungle was my backyard! Saw howler monkeys and parrots and toucans from my balcony and this was the most amazing stay I have ever had in my life of 59 years! Staff went beyond expectations to ensure I was happy and even had a smart tv taken to my room especially for me,

We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, thermal pools. Staff were welcoming and provided excellent service. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Food was delicious in restaurant. And view of Arenal from our room was spectacular. We will return!
No denying that the surrounding property is beautiful! We loved that every room has an amazing view of the volcano that can be seen from the sitting area, bed, or hot tub! Every night my daughter was thrilled to find a new towel animal! The complimentary breakfast was delicious. We also enjoyed the BBQ dinner at the pool restaurant. The hot springs on property were wonderful (consider skipping the Titoku springs with kids. They were much too hot and my kids weren't a fan). Only opportunities I saw where the window by the hot tub was obviously harder to clean so big dead fly right in the view of the volcano (less than magical) and the paths to and from the pool and restaurants to our were long and at night were poorly lite so difficult to see, especially with young children. Otherwise, an amazing property in Arenal!
Our stay at Arenal Kioro Suites & Spa offered a mix of delights and disappointments. Situated against the picturesque backdrop of the Arenal volcano, the resort boasts stunning views and spacious rooms. Upon arrival at 6 PM, however, we encountered some initial hiccups. The room's air conditioning was not turned on, leading to an uncomfortably warm welcome. It took a considerable amount of time for the room to cool down, which was not ideal after a long journey. Additionally, the room key didn't work smoothly during check-in, causing a minor inconvenience. Despite these initial setbacks, the resort's tranquil location provided a serene escape. The awe-inspiring view of the Arenal volcano from the resort added a touch of magic to our stay. The morning breakfast spread offered a delightful array of options, ensuring a pleasant start to the day. However, the dinner options were limited and relatively expensive, detracting from the overall dining experience. In summary, while Arenal Kioro Suites & Spa offers a serene setting with breathtaking views and spacious accommodations, there is room for improvement in terms of guest comfort upon arrival and dining options. With some adjustments, this resort has the potential to provide an even more memorable stay for its guests.
Good stay
Staff is very friendly. Rooms are nice and spacious. Hot springs area nice.
Quiet rooms with great views. That’s what our group appreciate.
Views and natural wildlife were spectacular as well as dining options and other amenities.
Excellent hotel with great facilities, including two thermal baths. Rooms were huge. Food was delicious. The location is a bit further out of La Fortuna and nothing is within walking distance, so you need to rely on transport. But it was a great place to stay.
Staff was friendly , warm and helpful. Grounds were beautiful and offered opportunity to see wildlife.
Loved the hot springs on site; hot tub in room, service was great. Easy to take transport to tours from hotel. Also not a lot of people hanging out in hotel because they are all doing tours - makes for a nice day or two of quietness
Beautiful property right at the base of the Arenal volcano! Our balcony has a magnificent view of the volcano. The pool side grill has good food and drinks but the main restaurant tends to either overcook or undercook meat. Our fish was dry so they smothered it in sauce. The streak, ordered medium was completely raw after the first cm.
Beautiful and relaxing stay. The staff was fantastic and friendly, the hot springs are peaceful and private, and great spa!
Nice
Amazing and Simple. Spa, breakfast, parking, rooms, and thermals couldnt be more perfect! Loved this place and the location.
We liked the pool area, suites and grounds. The breakfast was very good. The dinner needs help. They cooked the fish too long and then smothered it in sauce to try to fix it. The steak I had was raw in the center even though I ordered medium. The pool area stops normal meals at 5:30 and goes to three large price fixed options. The price gixed are good but large. We had ti go back to our room to order nachos.
Loved my stay!
The hotel is beautiful and tranquil. We had a great experience from the time we booked. They helped us book our transportation and all the tours we wanted. The spa was amazing as well. The hot springs on site and the other one we have access to was great. We were well taken care of for our girls trip. We WILL be back!!
Great location. Little ambience. Rooms a bit tired. Service in restaurants poor, very slow. Beautiful property with great gardens and great view of volcano
Payment and checkin were a bit clunky. The dome was cool! Although the price was fair it was a bit high given everything we received
If you can afford it, stay here you will not regret it.
It felt like we had the resort to ourselves. The room was very spacious. The spa treatment was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay there. Thank you to all the lovely staff.
Do not stay here
Awful food, outdated rooms, ripped off for a shuttle service when I requested a taxi. Do not sat here
I expected a decent resort but the resort was fantastic. Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and clean room, great dining options, and awesome view and location for the volcano. Beyond happy with our stay there!
Very nice hotel, better than the pictures. Rooms are very spacious and clean with volcano view. Breakfast was perfect but dinner menu and prices should be better
Loved it
Great staff, amazing views, and all around great experience.
Excellent place to celebrate our 30 wedding anniversary.
We loved staying here. The property has amazing views of the volcano from every area. The hot springs are plentiful and clean. The dining options were very nice and the included breakfast was fantastic! Our room had a private hot tub in the room and was nice to have. The property is gorgeous and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. We absolutely loved our stay here.
Impecable hotel amazing view.. so beautiful it blew my mind.
Remote, tranquil, charming hotel with luscious surroundings and stunning views of Arenal volcano
One of the best of my stay.
Excellent
Great stay!
Beautiful grounds, views and friendly staff. The rooms were a bit dated, but very spacious and clean.
Location
Delightful resort priceless views
This resort is delightful, this really suns it up. Beautiful views of the volcano, grand suites and cheerful service.
No view like it. Amazing.
The best thing this property has going is the spectacular view of the volcano and the grounds outside! It’s been said before — the room and main areas (restaurant and lobby) all could use a major “refresh”. The decor looks stale and the rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, new linens and curtains. The towels and linens for a “spa” hotel were very thin. Service points of check-in and out were awkward and took too long. Specifically, they asked me to write down my credit card number — after they already ran it. Then at check out, I had to re-present the same card that they already had on file. We probably spent 20 minutes in the lobby waiting for the check-in process to be completed after we had driven 4.5 hours to get there. If you want to charge a premium and present your hotel as “luxury”, then there’s some major improvements. This isn’t a luxury hotel by any standards I’ve experienced. It’s a “nice” hotel with a lovely view.
Good for older people or family
Beautiful grounds! Enjoyed the dining, hot springs and abundant bird watching throughout the property!
Incredible view of the volcano. Beautiful lush grounds with walking paths. Hotel & rooms need to be updated. Rooms were large but the furniture was not functional. The room was so poorly lit that you couldn’t read.
Average
The hotel room was just okay. For the price and pictures, I expected more. Everything that they said was in the room was in the room. The outdoor paths to the hot springs and pool is not well lighted at night which made it confusing, there should be more lights out there. I drank the coffee the 1st day and when we got back to room that night and after the room had been cleaned the dirty coffee cups were still on the table.
they placed us in the suite that's used in the photo ad. the volcano was right outside. fed a coati and other critters off our balcony. beautiful place . great service.
Peaceful and relaxing
Beautiful resort, breathtaking views, and really good food
The view of the volcano was spectacular. Hot springs were nice. Lot's of wildlife to see on the property such as sloths, toucans and frogs. In November, the place was not crowded. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
A wonderful hotel
Excellent hotel, excellent service, excellent staff, highly recommended
The view from room of the volcano was stunning and the breakfast was very good.
Hidden gem
This is one of the best resorts we have ever stayed. This is comparing to all 50 states as well as more than 70 countries around the world. It is perfectly located, the staff was wonderful, the rooms were spacious and clean. This is an under discovered gem.
great ev charging , great service
Beautiful very friendly staff love it
