Such a beautiful property- we especially loved our gourmet breakfast on the balcony overlooking the bay and being able to easily walk into town. Peter and Greg were very accommodating hosts - we so enjoyed our time in Russell.

Spectacular

Greg and Peter were wonderful hosts. The room was extremely clean and a good size. The views of their garden and towards the bay were spectacular. Their breakfast was an absolute masterpiece - great choices, variety each day and so well served. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend them to anyone looking for special accommodation so close to Russell town centre.

Perfection

Perfect hosts. Amazing breakfast. A wonderful heritage home in a truly special location. Quite simply, the very best.

This historic house, built in the early 1900's has been beautifully maintained with exquisite attention to detail throughout. The views are stunning and the breakfasts, prepared by one of the hosts who is a trained chef are to die for. Easy walking distance into Russell, with loads to do, see, and places to eat there. A variety of rooms and super friendly hosts, can't wait to return, summer or winter.

The outlook from the property is spectacular and our hosts, Greg and Peter, went 'above and beyond' to make our stay extremely special. The breakfasts were a true feast!

Historical Bnb

Historic Bnb with multi level rooms. Hosts were gracious Would return with request of a main level room which had views. The attic room was with no view, low ceilings and slanted floors. Enjoyed Russell and it’s history.

Amazing Arcadia!

Arcadia Lodge is a very special place. The hosts, Greg and Peter, have lovingly crafted a nest of tranquility overlooking the water, on the edge of Russell. From the accommodation to the meals, to the caring from G and P, it was an idyllic stay.

Arcadia Lodge is a beautiful old historical home which has been upgraded to luxury standard with decor and furnishings that reflect the history of the time. All this surrounded by a beautiful garden. Guests can not fail to relax due to the outstanding hospitality of the hosts,the attention to detail and the special touches that make guests feel special. As well as this the breakfast offerings are second to none served on the deck when possible overlooking Matauwhi bay.The location is excellent. A few minutes to Russell township by car or an easy ten minute walk. Restaurants,activities,shops,vineyards and beaches are all easily accessible if you can tear yourself away from the ambience of the lodge. A world class accomodation without the airfare!

Lovely views, great hosts, excellent food. The grounds were beautifully kept and the rooms had nice period pieces and original local paintings of the Islands/scenery/birds.

I liked everything about this property. The hosts, the food, the views, the beautiful furnishings, the history, the class, the thoughtful points of difference. This was one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed.

Wonderful place to stay with amazing views

Just a short walk out of the centre of Russell, the Arcadia Lodge was a great place to stay. Both Peter and Greg were amazing hosts, offered us loads of great information about the area and their restaurant recommendations were fantastic. The rooms were spacious and the breakfasts were excellent, all served on a wonderful terrace overlooking the small bay. Highly recommended.

From our initial welcome to our departure a couple of days later, Greg and Peter were super hosts. Our room was very quaint and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the property. The views and the fragrance from the gardens were great and the walk into town was only 10 minutes. Peter spoiled us with amazing breakfasts. We would highly recommend Arcadia Lodge to other travellers looking for a really nice B&B experience.

Everything is so well presented. Bedroom so comfortable beautiful views. Excellent breakfasts nothing is too much trouble. I loved the ambience of the whole place. Linden leaves shampoo was fabulous touch.

Peter and Greg are wonderful hosts, and the breakfast on the balcony overlooking the bay was spectacular. Rooms were very nice and super clean. And we saw a weka outside. We found the bed a bit uncomfortable and bouncy, so it wasn't a great night's sleep.

There was nothing to dislike about this property. Peter and Greg are excellent hosts, location was perfect - lovely views and easy walk into town. Greg's suggestions for restaurants were bang on and he made booking any excursion a non-event. Breakfast was terrific and sitting on the balcony enjoying wine in the afternoon was an excellent opportunity to meet and chat with the other guests.

The food was amazing. Attention to detail in all the rooms was brilliant, just a wonderful experience.

Greg and Peter are excellent hosts providing first class hospitality. Arcadia Lodge is a great place to stay, a short walk from the Russell ferry, restaurants and attractions of the village. The bay views from the deck are stunning. The breakfasts provided are first class!

Tremendous house overlooking the yacht filled bay Lovely hosts very professional and friendly couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our stay A great b& b which we will return to on our next trip to New Zealand

What a fabulous experience. Greg and Peter are wonderful hosts and their Lodge is just so dreamy. We enjoyed all the lovely touches and the breakfasts were just so lovely. It is a lovely walk into town and the views from the lodge is incredible. Thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Greg and Peter, getting the lowdown on Russell but also just to be able to chat and share our love of Boxer dogs. Thank you Greg and Peter, we will definitely be back!

There is nothing not to like. Hosts are wonderfully helpful and welcoming. Home is in a great location with unbelievable views. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Peter’s breakfasts (We enjoyed three of them.) were unique, creative but not too avant- gard that reasonable people would not love them. Russell is fantastic with great hiking.

Beautiful view and a gourmet chef!

We loved it! Most accommodating hosts/concierge and the breakfast was amazing. Met other travelers from all over. Did not want to leave.

True gem

Such a lovely place! Greg and Peter are delightful hosts, they made us feel at home and warmly welcome. The rooms and the house in general are beautifully decorated and the garden is done with so much love and dedication. Definitely worth a couple of nights stay!

Best place to stay in Russell

We completed a recent trip to New Zealand in Russell staying at the Arcadia Lodge. It was the perfect ending to a great trip. The location is great; beautiful views of a small bay, quick walk to town, beautiful grounds, and comfortable beds. Inn Keepers Greg and Peter were very attentive and helpful. The breakfasts were amazing. Will definitely stay again!

Wonderful hosts and a great historic hotel. Breakfast was great.

Oasis

From the moment we arrived everything was more than we had expected: the view, the friendly hosts, great breakfast using local fresh produce and the homestead itself. The hosts have great local knowledge and went out of their way to ensure our days were full of options suited to our interests.

Amazing B&B in Russell

Very nicely renovated villa. Peter and Greg were amazing hosts and the breakfast was better than anything in town. We are going back at the end of the year.

Wonderful retreat overlooking the harbour.

It was a great experience staying at Arcadia. The views from our bedroom were marvellous. The house and gardens are maintained meticulously and it was a delight. Our hosts were very friendly and useful and cooked a delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here. Elderly people should request a downstairs room.

Step back in time

Lovely old home carefully and tastefully furnished. If you want modern fittings, tv and heated towel rails this is not for you. But if you want quiet, charm with good service and delightful breakfast ...then there is the view. We loved it - thanks David & Brad
