Deceived

Looked good online. Came highly recommended. But the we arrived. Front door would not stay latched. Shower head leaked and sprayed water all over bathroom. Used towel to mop it up only to find out they charge extra for replacement towels. Noise all night long. Breakfast was good but they made us wash our dishes. Had to strip our beds and deliver sheets down stairs. Place is quit worn with sloppy maintenance. Absolutely not “very good”!

my experience from the time i stay at Arava hostel

amazing place to spend the weekend, very good service i slept like a baby because the area is very quiet, there are shops nearby so you can go to eat lunch only 300 meters from the hostel, the crew is very kind and i felt like I'm staying in my family place, not in a hostel, the one that stands above all was Tommy great guy with very high service awareness, i will come again for sure :)

Great budget room for night

Great budget room for night; walk-able to beach/center (not in summer). Good breakfast included; nice ground; room with kettle and small refrigerator; easy street parking (and limited on site parking). Very clean.Locker is 10 NIS (up to 24 hr).

Good location, close tó everything by walk. Tomi, the owner, wonderful host. Nice staff, helpful. Clean common areas, very comfortable terrace forint chill out. Delicious breakfast.

Easy walk to bus station

Easy walk to the bus station and good inexpensive restaurants. Good outdoor lounging space. Only concern was that my bunk room was stuffy and had no windows; not the best place to share with two guys who were sick.

Even prices went up since last year it's still good! Hope they will reduce the prices when the hotel isn't full..

Basic comforts and the friendliest service imagina

The friendliness and service at this hotel was superb. All staff were super helpful, and given the cost, this was a super value. If you want luxury this is not the place for you. But if you want basic comforts and an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome, do not hesitate to book. You can even walk to the airport!

Great value with staff that truly cares

I stayed here for 2 nights on my way to Jerusalem. Eilat is not a cheap town as accommodations can be expensive but the dorms are good value for what you get. The hostel is nicer than appears in the pictures with a garden area to hang out / socialize, good Wifi inside, clean shared bathroom and rooms with comfy beds and power outlets by the bed and a good breakfast. It is well located and within walking distance to the airport, central train station and various restaurants / markets. A dishonest taxi driver took off with my main luggage still in the trunk which is every traveller's nightmare and the staff Ruth and Tommy were very kind and empathetic of my situation. They took the time to help me call all the taxi companies around town and helped me deal with it as best they could. I would highly recommend this hostel.

This is a hostel, not resort hotel

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful, with suggestions for places to eat and things to do. They were always cheerful and helpful. We were able to rent gear to snorkel for less than at the Coral Beach Nature Reserve. The only negative comment is that breakfast could have been better.

Breakfast was very good: salad, bread, jam and chokolate paste, milk, soft cheese, olives. It is very good location, 10 min walk to the Central bus station and very close to the local airport. Supermarket is 10 min by foot. But I didn’ like the shower.

Lovely patio, dreary single room

Checkin was friendly, quick and helpful. My room was tiny and depressingly dreary, but the bathroom was updated, bright and nice. I would happily have traded the tv for a bedside light. Location is a short walk from the bus station, and the downtown area was minutes away by foot. The continental breakfast was fine, and the instant coffee was actually ok. There is a beautiful patio out front, replate with couches, pinic tables, trees and a view across to the Jordanian mountains. As a nonsmoker, however, it was hard to find a place to sit that wasn’t smoke-filled.

Great time at Arava

Amazingly helpful and very friendly staff. Very flexible with booking and staying. Great atmosphere at the hostel, nice garden and good location. Rich breakfast at the morning and 24/7 reception. Internet could be faster in the dormitory rooms.

Amazing staff

The hostel is in a good location and the staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms were basic and the breakfast was limited in choice. However, it was pretty low price so all in all good value for money.

Amazing garden to sit in. Decent showers

Free breakfast. Clean. 20 shekel they wash your clothes. Ruth goes over and above for people, very genuine and caring. Friendly staff. Great garden. Beers/drinks for sale. 10 mins walk to beach , town, buses.

Nice

The hostel is in a near-central area, with rather easy access to a supermarket. The beach is a 15-minute walk away. The staff is generally friendly. Many special thanks to Ruth, who was very very nice.

Quiet, clean, just right for the price

The hostel was clean and easy to find, though not in the busy parts of town (which was nice and quiet actually). The staff were friendly and offered good recommendations, and the room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was available for small extra charge, and was pretty simple but enough to fill us up for the day (though would be nice if it was available earlier than 8 am). The outdoor space is really nice here, and there is a good sized communal kitchen. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We enjoyed this place!

Arava Hostel is a family-owned establishment, which demonstrates the value of years of experience and stable, happy staff. A special tribute to Tommy, Aaron and Akim, who keep the whole property immaculately clean, inside and out. It is in a great central location. -An easy walk to good local shops and Post Office, and pretty close to the tourist area and beach. We would love to come back.

Was nice for what it was. But since I was paying full price for a single room might have been nice if I was at least provided A towel. Told they were trying to keep costs low, but I found out I was paying more than a friend staying at a nearby hotel which provided towels soap and coffee maker

The room was clean and comfortable although having the air conditioner pointed at the bed resulted in cold air being blown right at us throughout the night. Turned it off but then the room got warm by morning. Ample parking, Really friendly staff. Our tv did not work. No big deal as we had no urge to watch it. Good price good value. I recommend it.

Nice, small and cheap

If you're looking for is a nice, quite, small and cheap place then this is the place for you. Only 10 minutes by foot to the mall and beach. It's not a fancy hotel but if you're out most of the day you're gurenteed a great time

Very nice surprise!

I will admit to being somewhat skeptical of a hostel. But it was Passover week and this was the cheapest place with an opening. This was a pleasant surprise. I did have a private room, which was a must for me. The environment was friendly with travelers mingling and good times and meals amongst each other. This is a place that is made by the people there and your openness to interact. If you don't want to interact, it's only about 20 minutes away from the beach. There are lots of places to eat around here as well. Very nice. I would stay here again.

Great location 7 minutes walk from the airport and close to town centre. Friendly staff, clean, well organised establishment. Strong wifi. Great value for money. I will be back for another stay.

Good value

We needed a place to stay for a night after crossing the Jordan border before going back to Tel Aviv. For what this hostel charges, is decent. We opted to stay on a room for 2 with private bath. Clean, cozy rooms with it being 4mins walk from the bus station. Wifi included just enough speed to check email and update Facebook. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Too crammed

This hostel could have been a great one if each room has two bunk beds instead of three. with six people in a tiny space I didn't even have a place to put my backpack. Every time someone came in and out, he had to move it. The other hostel I stayed has storage lockers under the bed so the room would stay clear, clean, cluttered-free. This one chooses to put the lockers outside to charge you extra to use it. It doesn't provide towels or shampoo. you have to pay extra.

Séjour Eilat 2019

On a passé deux nuits à Arava Hostel. Un l’endroit simple et sympathique .

Personal service and hospitality are top of the pops. Very clean place in walking distance to: Bus station, Airport, food and shopping. The hostel is well-organized and set like an oasis. Surrounded by a lush garden it offers rest and tranquility, even though it's set in close proximity to the city centre.

Ótima localização

A localização é ótima no entanto o quarto era muito pequeno para 6 beliches e o local de banho muito apertado! No entanto, o atendimento foi excelente!

Hostel usytułowany w bardzo dogodnym miejscu, blisko "tanich" marketów, oraz restauracji w dobrej cenie. Bardzo chiloutowy klimat, obsługa miła i serdeczna, dużo leżanek oraz kanap na zewnątrz służących do odpoczynku i to wszystko pod palmami i sąsiedztwie innych drzew. Wyposażenie - hostelowe, ale jak wiadomo w hostelu tylko się śpi, ponieważ miasto żyje całą noc. Polecam nawet rodziną z dziećmi.

The dorm has only a small window, and with 6 people the air gets unbrwathable in the night.
