The LOCATION of Aprillis Gold, emersed in history!

We were fortunate to be in Istanbul both pre and post touring other areas of beautiful Turkey. The staff at this hotel are very professional, helpful with sightseeing, restaurants, transportation. I commend Smiles for easy name recollection. All the staff in housekeeping, breakfast and reception went out of thei way to make this our home during our three day stay. Wonderful. The reservation included breakfast that offered a broad number of Turkish and European food selections. Hot soup and multiple vegetable salads were an extra bonus. The LOCATION of Aprillis Gold emersed us in history. Just two short blocks, uphill, to the trolley. Narrow streets are closed during the daytime to cars. During daytime hours, taxi pickup is just one block downhill, or two blocks away, walk right on the street fronting the hotel. A grocery and wine store is one block to the right, same street. We enjoyed two meals at Glass, just across the street with colorful lights in red, yellow, and blue. Soups, meze spreads, lamb with dried fruit, vegetables sautéed in mild curry, pizza, generous wine pours. A bit pricey, excellent preparation, attentive service. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Underground Basicalla Cistern, Muslim Art Museum on the Hippadrome walkway, Topkapi Castle complex, Museum of Mathematics and Science are all nearby. The Spice Market and Grand Bazaar are each about 15 minutes away.

The location is excellent for visiting historic İstanbul, with easy access to the tram and walking distance from major Byzantine and Ottoman monuments. The breakfast was good and the room was clean with powerful AC for a hot, humid summer visit.

Beautiful city, Great people, Clean hotel

Extremely positive experience. We got an upgrade without expecting/asking for one. The entire staff was very courteous and friendly. We had coffee with Ismael who was extremely helpful in not just meeting all our needs but also in suggesting places to visit and arranging transportation. Would definitely stay at again if we go to Istanbul.

Very good, in a nice, quieter part of İstanbul. (Please note, İstanbul is not quite, but this area is not as busy as other parts). The hotel is opposite a cargo shop. And they start making noise from 7am. Hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of all the sites. The roads outside are not flat. So not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. We had 3 rooms. The safe in one didn’t work and the a/c in a different one didn’t work. The hotel resolved the issues by the second day. Breakfast is small, but nice. It’s a Turkish breakfast, with cooked eggs charged extra (5euros). Spa is quite expensive. 70euros for 1 hour hammam.

Excellent location, close to all tourist attractions. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, especially Murat, ishmail and Al Mattin. Would definitely recommend!

Location is minutes walk away from trams and main high Street where the shops and some tourist sites were based Staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay, Murat and Mr Alatt helped with registering our Istanbul Card for travel, ordering taxi and general support for every day tourist. Rooms were clean and tidy

Overall good stay

Everything was good. Rabia the receptionist was very helpful the only suggestion is to provide free water and add more to breakfast menu. Also there was no blanket or duvet only a thin bedsheet was provided which was not enough

Good hotel

It was amazing and the staff were sooo friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect.

Unfortunately we stay 8 night there, they give us not the same room we booked, 2 beds instead of one king bed with my wife. However they make us trouple at the 1st day, they said its fully booked and you cant stay here for the 1st night after negotiation they send us to other hotel from their groups, we got a stupid small room with no windows. I have to announce they didnot change the breakfast varieties 6 days the same except the last 2 days of my checkout they add different foods. Honestly, it was the first bad lucky hotel in istanbul. The hotel should be rated no more than 6/10 ONLY.

I did my reservation to Aprilis Gold Hotel and then they made us walk to Aprilis Hotel. The location is not the best.

Very good at the price and near to all sites.

Our stay at Aprilis Gold was very good and we were very satisfied with the staff, especially Ebrahim. However one cupboard door was jammed and it took them three days to repair. The shower could do with a stand for soap, shampoo and other bath paraphenelia. The breakfast was palatable and filling. The wake up call was made by a knock on the door instead of a simple telephone call. The room was a bit small without much walking space. The price was good and we may use it again. There was a simple to use safe in the room and there was a time that the beds were not made up as the press button instruction to staff was not functional and we had to leave instructions at the desk to clean up the room.

Pros: Very clean (only 2-3 year old hotel). Good location, has quadruple room and connecting room which are very convenience for a family. A few minutes walk to Grand Bazaar, and other attractions. Umit and his colleagues at the front desk were very nice and friendly. Umit provided me with all information I needed and called taxi for me several times and offered me affordable and competitive local trips to resorts inside/outside Istanbul. Cons: wifi, was not that good. Since its small hotel (only 28 rooms) there is no guarantee getting the room you desire!

Great Hotel, Great Service, Great Staff

I had several business meetings in Istanbul and this hotel was the hub of our meetings. Prior to the meetings my wife joined me and the hotel was so pleasant, nicely furnished, roomy, and easy to get to ATM and tram line. The hotel also has a contract with a local restaurant to bring in your lunch and the staff was so kind to set up the breakfast room for the lunch meetings. It is a bit noisy outside, but the hotel is equipped with very sound-proof windows. We were on the corner of two streets and it was very quiet inside. They rate an A+

A Hidden Gem near the great Museums

The hotel is on an "off street" but actually is just 1.5 blocked to the Tram stop and from there you an get all over the city or connect to the underground metro.

We thought they had free shuttle to and from the airport but they did not.

Great stay. Nice clean hotel in good location. Slightly uphill walk (100 yds) to tram stop.

Birthday Holiday!

We booked this hotel after reading the very good reviews and seeing the pictures, however everyone failed to mention there is a huge construction site right outside the hotel! The hotel itself is lovely and the staff are very helpful especially Gurkan! Thanks for all your help and the amazing birthday cake!! The location is fabulous, walking distance to all the main attractions and restaurants. For the birthday celebration we went to a restaurant and club called Reina! Don't miss this...its epic and everyone should check it out! Its located on the Bosphorous open air...simply stunning! Great hotel great staff...just unfortunate to have the construction work going on!

Loved it

Staff were absolutely wonderful and super friendly and willing to help. Location was great, close to everything we needed. Only negative would be the construction going on was noisy and we could smell smoke coming from other rooms despite the hotel being non smoking but thats not really the hotels fault.

Hotel centrale molto comodo con personale gentile

Hotel in ottima posizione, centrale a tutte le principali attrazioni. Personale molto disponibile e cordiale, unica pecca non usano il lenzuolo ma solo una specie di coperta senza nulla d'altro. La prossima volta mi prenderei su le lenzuola :-)

Хороший отель в самом центре города. Квартал до остановки трамвая и 5 минут до Голубой Мечети. Хороший завтрак, чистый и уютный номер, супер персонал. Единственное что не понравилось - слабая звукоизоляция.

Il personale si fa in quattro per aiutare gli ospiti. La distanza dal centro è minima: l'hotel si trova a 100 metri dal corso principale. Le camere sono silenziose e non manca nulla. La prima notte ho dovuto soggiornare in un hotel della stessa catena per un problema idraulico alla camera, ma il personale ha fatto di tutto per minimizzare il disagio.

excelente hotel precio/calidad. cerca de la estacion de tranvia que te lleva al aeropuerto. personal educado amable y predispuestos siempre que necesitamos algo. nos alojamos en una hab para 3 personas amplia colchones comodos y bano con todos los accesorios necesarios. todo muy limpio y ordenado. volveria sin dudarlo muy cerca del gran bazar y las mezquitas mas importantes. el unico punto en contra es que para llegar a la avenida del tranvia es en subida y se complica al momento de trasladar mucho equipaje. por el resto todo perfecto volveria sin dudarlo

Hotel in posizione ottima per visitare la città, vicino ai luoghi di maggiore interesse e con la tramway che collega a tutto il resto. La colazione e' buona ma con poche cose dolci. Dovrebbero migliorarla. Lo staff è disponibile, ci hanno servito colazione alle 5:45 al check out.
