Best kept secret in Stockholm!

Absolutely wonderful! It’s not often you get to stay in one of the original buildings in the heart of Gamla Stan. Well appointed place, very comfy! Beware the low doorways, tall people! Also note there’s no elevator. Carrying our big suitcases up the two flights up to top floor wasn’t bad at all though! We absolutely LOVED our stay, and will absolutely stay again!

Interesting property. Location was wonderful. Property needs renovation and cleaning. Old building for some experience but can be challenging due to its condition. If you are the person pursuing unique experience in old town, this may be okay but if you need clean rooms and good condition of the room, this is not for you. I was uncomfortable at the beginning but after two days, it can be another experience in old town. Pictures are deceiving though. Its condition would not the good as shown in the picture. Acting it is quite old and run down building and room.

The apartment is in great condition even if it is in an old building in the walkable area of the old town. Good location even if we had to walk a few blocks about 400 m with our luggage to the place because the stone streets are only pedestrian. No cars allowed.

It was in a fantastic location right in the middle of shopping, restaurants, and sites. We could walk anywhere we needed to get. It was also close to Central Station, so we could get to busses, subways, and taxis within a 20 minute walk. The bathroom was quite wonky. There was no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so the water was all over the floor in the bathroom. It also had a warning about using too much hot water, so we were afraid to take a shower that was very long for fear of running out. My husband would shower at night, and I showered in the morning and turned off the water between washing and rinsing. That seemed to work because we didn’t run out. Something that was frustrating was that we didn’t get a booklet with information in it upon arrival, so luckily we had an eSIM so we could check email because the WiFi password was sent in an email. If we hadn’t had the eSIM, we would not have been able to use the WiFi because we needed WiFi to get the WiFi password. Not super helpful. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay agin if we were in Stockholm.

The location was great, spacious apartment, but did get noisy at night with I'm assuming a bar downstairs. If you can sleep through noise, this is a great place to be! Will recommend to future visitors.

Excellent location, big appartment with all ameneties

The apartment was very clean and the sheets were ironed. It was in a walkable area. The building itself was quite noisy. Also the hot water in the shower was limited and the floor was always wet.

I would recommend and return. Location is perfect for touring Stockholm, code access worked well. Apartment was well equipped, a couple of doors are quite low and bathroom could use a redesign but was fully functional. Great for us as tourists. Stairs were steep so not recommended for anyone with mobility issues.

Beautiful old apartment. Apparently the oldest apartment building in Stockholm. Comfortable with a lovely layout. Unfortunately full of spiderwebs, the bathroom is cramped, and we were only given 1 roll of toilet paper. The check in process was well managed. But bring your ear plugs. You will hear everything go by at night and early morning. Owners need to invest in modern double isolated windows. Other than that very nice apartment. The original doorways are still in place. Really adds a nice touch of how old the building is and how much smaller people were.

Perfect location to explore old town

This is an amazing location! The place was really cozy and great. The door ways are super short (just beware if you’re tall like me). I would’ve given this place a perfect rating however it is a bit noisy in this area. Fun fact this is the oldest house in Stockholm. With that comes thin walls so you can hear everyone above/below you and outside on the street. If you’re a light sleeper you’d struggle here but if not, it’s the perfect spot! You can walk everywhere you want from here and it’s close to public transportation

The property consists of 2 apartments. This is a review of the larger of the 2. Great apartment, right in the centre of the old town. It is an old character filled apartment. Some reviews have described it as noisy. It really isn’t. The windows are double glazed and even when open, it's the gentle hum of a city. This apartment has a washing machine and the kitchen is well stocked. Some of the electric sockets didn’t work, but as there are loads that's OK. The apartment was really clean. Highly recommended if you like older buildings and great locations.

The house is one of the oldest in the area and this ,probably,supposed to be an excuse for bad condition of the flat .Doors don’t close,lock doesn’t work,not enough hot water for three people to shower,very noisy ,no working tv no customer support other then “we will look into it”.big disappointment:-(

Great location. Full of character. Easy to find and walkable to most sights

Location of the property near Royal Palace. Taxi vehicles are not having access to the property. We found it difficult to explain the driver about pick up place while we stayed in this property.

Character apartment but so noisy!

This apartment is right in the middle of the old town, which is great for sightseeing. It is a historic building, the oldest in Stockholm apparently and that gives it a lot of character. The space is great, plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds super comfy. Check in is super easy with a key code, no need to make arrangements to meet up with someone. What would prevent us from returning though is the noise, our sleep quality was terrible. People walk through the street next to the apartment day and night and it sounds like they are traipsing right through your bedroom. And the garbage truck that comes by every day at 6am makes the most incredible racket, impossible to sleep through. Shame, because outside of that we really liked this place.

Would definitely stay again!

Brilliant stay at this spacious apartment with 2 friends, in the old part of Stockholm. Really simple to use - no faff, a great stay!

Great location in Gamla Stan

Finding a place to park for our stay was CRAZY! We ended up in a parking ramp that seemed like a bomb shelter but once we figured that out and dragged our luggage to the place everything was good. This place is right on a main pedestrian walkway above a pizzeria place. You open up the window, look down and see all the people walking around. EXCELLENT LOCATION for walking around and seeing the sights of Stockholm. Close to restaurants, shops, bars, etc... The room itself is historic, large and spacious. The kitchen had what we needed. Life was good at this apartment.

Gamla Stan Apartment

An old apartment in the centre of Gamla Stan, which has been modernised. Centrally situated for shopping, with easy access to underground, restaurants and tourist spots. All are within easy walking distance. A quiet and central location, no cars in this area as most of Gamla Stan has thin cobbled streets. <Survey note above: this is an apartment so there are no "Hotel Staff" - ignore that rating.>

Nice Apartment, great location.

Nice apartment in the middle of the old town 5 minutes walk to metro and 10 minutes walk to ferry.

Really nice. Felt like home.

No complaints. All good. Staff helpful. Had to flip a few switches in the electrical cupboard to get power to the oven and hob but otherwise very comfortable. I will be booking this again.

Self Contained Apartment in a great location. Loved the area and all the old buildings.

Excellent location in old town

Simple, low ceiling but characterful, clean, efficient system and couldnt be better location-very buzzy area: Restaurants and cafes abound and lots to see on Gamla Stan. Also can get ferry to vasa museum and rest of that island. It is 15 min walk from Central station to the apartment so ok with light luggage. No hotel staff as apartment and you gain entry via efficient entry code system. You just need to think what to do with your luggage on the last day as no left luggage system at apartment. Are lockers at central station and some museums. We structured our trip to visit the Nobel museum (2 mins away) on our last morning and was fine as we just had small bags we put in their lockers whilst we looked round.

Great tourist location

The apartment is very well located in the old town - ideal for sightseeing and eating out. It is an old building and is in need of a little tlc with some of the window frames being a bit rotten. I was a little too tall and hit my head quite a few times on the door frames but otherwise it was a good place to stay.

Old town cute apartment

The apartment hotel was in a great location! It's on a relatively quiet street in Gamla Stan. You are in the middle of the old city -- just like how you see in guidebooks! The only thing I did not like about the place is that the shower room did not drain properly. I was not happy about that. But overall I'm glad we stayed here.

Spacious and convenient

Amazing location, very spacious, staff responded quickly to emails. It would have been nice to have a little note about for example where the heaters were. Kitchen was well equipped.

hotel is nice and cozy plus its really old and it matches the neighbourhood. Its comfortable even if its an old building. The stairs are just high so difficult if you have a lot of luggage. But generally its a nice hotel and highly recommended.

Old property in Old Town

The big advantage of ApartDirect Gamla Stan is that it is in the heart of the Old Town, and so close to lots of eating places and tourist sites. The apartment is old (to be expected in Old Town!). Generally it seemed surface-clean, but could use a scrub in corners, on the grout between bathroom tiles, and particularly the rug on the floor in the bedroom. It was quite warm while we were in Stockholm, and there was no means of getting moving air in the apartment. A fan would be a welcome addition, especially for sleeping comfort. A mirror outside of the bathroom would also be convenient. None of these things would prevent us from staying again, as we didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment - there was too much else to see and do, and it was absolutely fine for what we needed.

stayed for 5 days with a family of 4.Pros: The location couldn't be better: 2 min to Nobel museum, 4 min to the Royal palace. Clean sheets, well equipped kitchen. Cons: the basement is shared with restaurant, so there is very strong smell of kitchen in the hall and it leaks into the apartment. The windows are taped shut and it's impossible to open and freshen up the apartment. The "city view " is next door building through very dirty windows. The bathroom was unacceptable: the shower was clogged and not draining well. Really disgusting experience. On top of that there was not enough hot water for 4 people to take shower and then wash dishes after the meal. You have to schedule your showers. The apartment was advertised for 4 people, but the sofa in living room was not reclining well and you could feel bumps all over. Set of 4 towels for a family of 4 for 5 days isn't enough. The linens should've been replaced at least once. The email warning about staying quiet before 10am and after 10pm with possible eviction was not particularly welcoming. We will not be back.

A weekend in Gamla Stan

Generally found the apartment very good. Location was excellent for exploring Gamla Stan also close to metro for easy access to the rest of Stockholm. General facilities within the apartment very good, only area for improvement was the use of a pull out sofa bed for 3/4 person was very uncomfortable and not made up apon arrival despite booking made for 4 people, also no sheets provided for sofa bed had to hunt them down outside the apartment. The sofa bed when cushions removed to pull it out was found to be dirty/stained.

Live like a local

Great base for the many museums/boat trips and sight seeing trips. It was great to be able to pop back to the apartment for a cup of coffee and a rest mid-day if you wanted to especially with children. The choice of restaurants right on your door step makes it really easy to please everyone. This has got to be the closest you can get to living like a local. The Vasa museum and Skansen is a must.

Slitet men charmigt.

Passar om man vill ha en lägenhet istället för hotellrum. Ganska slitet men charmigt. Kan passa bra om man är 4 personer då det är rymligt. Fanns bara 2 förvaringsskåp för väskor i källaren om man vill droppa sitt bagage innan incheckningen. Borde kunna ha fler.

Nyår i Gamla Stan

Ett underbart boende i Stockholms äldsta hus, mitt i Gamla Stan. Endast 15 min promenad från centralen. Perfekt beläget med gångavstånd till allt. Restauranger och pubar i överflöd. Vi firade nyårsafton på Skansen och det var lika fint.

Great stay in cosy apartment in Old Town

Very good location in Old Town. We stayed in the apartment on the ground floor, view towards Prästgatan and Västerlånggatan. Very cosy. Please note that this is a very old house, and that is part of the experience. The apartment is however in great condition and well equipped.

Källare

Vi kommer först till en trevlig ingång , sedan blir det en rätt brant trappa som leder till en källare, vi öppnar och inser att det inte är samma biler som dem visar i annonsen, källaren är inte alls hemtrevlig, min mor som är 70 år och har svårt att gå i trappor. Detta såkallat hotellrum blir en stor besvikelse för nästa gäst !!

Ett något bedagad 50-tals intryck.

Jättegammalt hus, vilket förlåter en hel del, men en uppfräschning av samtliga ytskickt behövs, även badrummet. WC-sits bör bytas omgående. Handfatet trasigt. Köksutrustningen bör vara av samma slag, dvs likadana gafflar, kaffemuggar etc. Utrustning för 6 personer bör finnas.Måla takplåten utanför fönstret. En ordentlig hängare för ytterkläder, istället för den enkla mässingspinnen. Släng de konstgjorda blommorna etc. Sängar och spisen dock helt OK.

Fantastiskt läge mitt i Gamla stan. Mysig lägenhet med allt som behövs. Lite gammaldags men det får man räkna med i ett hus med anor ifrån 1300-talet. Överlag fräscht och fint.

Smack in the middle!

Quaint but a bit run down. Location perfect if you want to be in the absolute center of Stockholm's old town. (Take in to account that it can be a bit noisy.) Clean, but could do with a freshen up. The bed was very comfy though. Perfect for a family on holiday, as there is a sofa bed too. Wifi was good.
