Perfect, easy stay
Great stay, went solo for a couple of days. I know Catania well and the location was perfect for me. Super hospitality and the value is correct!!
The hotel is very centrally located and the AC works well.
The hotel claimed it offers transfers from the airport for surcharges. In reality, when I requested the transfer to the airport, they called a taxi for 22-25 Euros. I also needed a transfer from the airport to the hotel after I have dropped a rental car, and they advised me to take an unfamiliar bus in an unfamiliar city. So, I had to take a taxi again. The conclusion is that this hotel DOES NOT offer the transfer. Also, for those traveling by car: you will be lucky if you find a parking space on the street near the hotel. So, I do not recommend this hotel, especially to those traveling by cars.
Tucked in a side street - very clean & accommodating with arrival & storing baggage during the day of departure.
Nice old building. Classic. Room was very spacious. Had a balcony. Close to shops and restaurants.
Absolutely superb! Stunning building and probably the best lift in the history of lifts!! The whole place is beautiful. Staff were kind, knowledgeable and really cared that I got the best out of Catania. Loved it.
This is a beautiful hotel located in an apartment building. There are many charming elements such as an old fashioned elevator with red velvet seats and beautiful painted ceilings. You can walk to the main piazza. There is a municipal parking lot very close by. Let the owner know you need to park your car and she will send you the exact name. There is also a large park with a fountain and playground right next to the parking lot, less than a 10 minute walk. There is also an open air fruit/veggie market there too. The area right around the hotel is a bit run down but we felt very safe walking with our toddler and it’s such a quick walk to the piazza. The owner was very kind and helped us with some questions. We loved our room, it was spacious and the air conditioning worked very well! The ceiling was painted beautifully. We would definitely stay here again.
Incredibly kind staff. We arrived late due to a delayed flight and somebody stayed at the reception for us until then. The host was also generous in giving us good advice for safe parking, activities and get arounds. The bed and breakfast is ideally located, at 2 min walking to catania's heart. The building is very old and charming. Our room was decorated simply but functionally. Everything was clean and the bed very comfortable.
Lovely cute place..very happy with the management and owner. Nice comforting bed with lovely ceiling decorations, nice breakfast and the location is very close to the city center. I will definitely stay here again..
centrally located basic rooms
best location for someone who wants to stay close to the airport and still be at the center of the town with very near by night life location ( 3 minutes walk). The owner is very nice and the process of check-in was effective and short. The building itself is old and the entrance is a slight challenge. the biggest concern is with the noise coming from the cars in the street even in the late hours.
Great friendly hotel with Amzing Sri Lankan Staff
Great friendly hotel, very central with lovely bedrooms and a funky lift. Only lost a few points from me as the bed in room 5 was Very uncomfortable and sagged when anyone laid on it - replace the bed guys! Owner suggested a room change after the first night and the second room was great. Beautiful building with great ceilings in each room. Special mention to the two Amazing Sri Lankan Staff who work in the hotel - nice to meet you gents, and thanks for your hospitality. Would recommend.
Great Location!
Hard to find as is everything in Catania. No or limited signs and crazy drivers. The place exceeded our expectations. Amazing location, beautiful frescoed ceiling and quite a bargain.
Friendly warm greetings
A nice place to stay but a noisy dog in the area. Not outrageous though
Great service
Close to historic section, but the neighborhood was a little rough
Charming and Comfortable
We very much enjoyed our stay at Antica Dimora. We were first greeted by Pinella, who was very kind and friendly. She made us feel at home. Pinella answered all of our questions about things to see and to do in Catania. Antica Dimora is very centrally located and within walking distance of everything. Pinella also recommended the restaurant Pitti for dinner. If you’re a meat lover, then this fantastic restaurant is for you. Our room was a triple room which was up the stairs from the dining area. One area (which in itself was its own bedroom) had a queen bed. The other area had 2 twin beds. The linens were new, fresh and clean. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The wifi was fast. The bathroom was not en-suite but was just outside the room door. As this was the only room up the stairs, this bathroom was just for our room. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of breads, cakes, meats, cheeses and a lot more. Pinella also arranged a taxi for our departure to the airport. Yes, I would return.
Nice stay
perfect nice service, superb location
More of a B&B - without the breakfast- than a hotel, but the Senora was delightful and more than ready to be helpful.
Great location for drivers, nice family B&B
Nice location, just south of the city center, very close to the fish market and just a 15 min drive from the airport. This is a nice family run B&B. Good option for families as they have rooms with 4 beds. Very friendly staff but limited English and no German spoken. The old elevator is really cute and fun. However, it's small so you may want to avoid if claustrophobic.
A lovely owner
The stay in this was very nice as the owner was lovely with us and helped us very nuch finding our luggage as it didnt arrive with our flight
Brilliant and so unexpected
Staff very welcoming lovely lady. Impressed with everything, room very comfortable. Going back on Tuesday. Would definitely stay here again
Lovely hotel
Great place , very helpful and welcoming staff. Spacious and clean rooms. Would stay there again and again !
Friendly, well-located B&B in Catania
All the reviews that I based my decision on staying here were completely accurate. Pinella and all the other ladies were friendly and helpful, and run a wonderful spot in Catania that I will be making a beeline for when I return.
Great location for sightseeing, public transport
Pinella is a wonderful host, warm and helpful, as are all the staff. The accommodation was very comfortable, excellent quiet air conditioning, and the buffet breakfast a mix of fresh and packaged foods. Don't be alarmed by the access to the b&b - there's a lift or stairs to the second storey off the street, it's all part of the quirky Catania experience. Marvellous market on your doorstep and local bus station made our stay easy.
Close to the town center and airport. Reasonable
We had a language problem at first but Pinella quickly solved that with her smart phone. We found the staff very helpful and the acomadations very clean. Location was good
Really good, price good too.
Close to everything, room clean, staff very helpful and friendly..If I go back to Catania, I ll stay there again!
Beautiful, clean family run B&B
The B&B is a very lovely place to stay. The house lady is a very sweet Italian lady who is available for questions at any time and was very helpful when we asked about certain things about the city and beaches near by. The room was very clean and nice, as well as te bathroom. Great place to stay for a holiday.
A charming place
We arrived on the ferry from Naples at 0900, well before the check in time. Pinella, the owner, had a lovely room waiting for us just as she said she would try to do. Our only sadness was that we were only there for the day as we were catching another ferry to Malta that evening. It is such a beautiful place, so beautifully decorated & Pinella is charming. The position is really close to the great fish market & the city centre. We would have loved to have been able to stay longer and highly recommend it.
Nice hotel very close to the centre of the city
Very nice and helpful staff. We took a ride on the Hop on Hop off bus around the city. The only problem you could not hop off because it never stopped.
Value for money
As a budget stay prior to a flight this hotel was a good choice. Comfortable room & very helpful staff. Parking could be a problem, we managed to get a space in the very small shared courtyard otherwise it's on the busy road. A 5 minute walk to the Cathedral, 10 to the ancient theatre (well worth a visit). The hotel lift is a work of art, albeit 19th century........
a little gem in catania
Fantastic location, superbe room and very personal and attentive service. If we ever come back to Catania we will stay here for sure!
A lovely little find with a super friendly service
We had a wonderful stay at this cute Baroque style B&B which is well placed for access to the main sites of the city. The owners were really lovely and so helpful in giving hits and tips of where to go and where to pick up transport links. The bedroom was nice and spacious and although the views from the room were nothing spectacular, it was nice to have a Juliette balcony. There is a lovely reception room with cute ceiling frescos and a gorgeous old lift so those seeking a bit of nostalgia in the city rather than a boring new build hotel will be well placed here! It felt very secure (we had about 5 keys to get in!) but like most beautiful old buildings of it's time, the initial building entry gangway might feel a bit spooky to someone on their own at night. Only small critique was that the breakfast was not within the hotel but at a cafe about 1 block away - we could eat it after check out time though which was good!

Mainio sijainti, kävelymatka tärkeimmille nähtävyyksille. Vilkkaasti liikennöidyn kadun varrella, tosin kaupungissa harvoin on hiljaisia katuja, meitä ei meteli härinnyt :) Huone siisti, kaunis stukkokoristeinen katto plussaa. Omistaja ja henkilökunta erittäin ystävällisiä. Myöhäinen check-in onnistui sekä taksikyydit lentokentälle sovitusti.
Nice place, kind people.
Ottima posizione centro, personale gentilissimo
Good place in the center, good starting point for all kind of activities. Clean and friendly. Since we slept facing to the water, the boat traffic was a bit noisy in the morning. Otherwise everything fine.
Molto buono
charming, but underwhelming
At first glance, I wanted to love this authentic-seeming B&B for it's good location (very close to the Duomo and the main historical center) and it's charm (painted ceilings, adorable sitting room...). But I was quickly disenchanted just a few hours after our arrival. We arrived at noon, and were welcomed by the owner (friendly, warm welcome) and told our room wasn't ready, but we could leave our luggage and return in one hour. So we had a quick lunch, and at 1:15 pm, our room still wasn't ready, and we were invited to wait in the sitting room. We waited for nearly another hour before we could finally go to our room. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable, the A.C. worked well. However, the bathroom was nothing short of a disaster. As this B&B is in an historic building, the plumbing had to be adapted to install bathrooms in many rooms using a sort of pump system connected to the toilet that was supposed to carry sewage and shower/sink water out of the room. The pump system was not working well: as soon as you start the shower or run to water in the sink, the smell of sewage fills the room, water also backed up in the sink and was very slow to drain, after taking a 5-10 minute shower, the pump box thing appeared to be leaking and there was water over half the bathroom floor. Flushing the toilet also proved slightly problematic (sometimes needs up to 3 or 4 flushes to flush everything).
Lovely hotel
All you want from a hotel. Roof paintings. Quirky elevator with velvet seats. Run by really nice people.
Ottima sistemazione in centro
Camera spaziosa con soffitti alti e decorati in pieno centro. Consigliato
Excellent séjour
Hôtel très confortable et parfaitement situé à Catania
Vicinissimo al centro e facilmente accessibile Il personale è molto accogliente e disponibile ed affronta i problemi che si pongono con capacità

Not enough to poke around the neighbourhod. Overnight on my way somewhere else in Sicily. Once one figures out the bus from and to the airport way convenient. Alibus.
