Clean and central to everything. Breakfast could improve.
Room was cramped with barely any room to move around the beds. Curtain was in effective with light throughout the night. Extremely noisy due to the design of building and not as good place to rest.
The hotel lobby was cozy and had a good ambiance. The room was adequate. There was nothing available on the TV, but I did not come to Cusco to watch TV. A decent room for a fair price..
Great place to stay
Great place to stay
There was no hot water, the room was very cold, we couldn’t lock the door from the inside so we had to sleep without locking it. The hotel had good reviews, but it didn’t do for us this time. We checked out on the first day and had booked it for another 3
Extremely good price. Very clean. The location was very good.
The manager, Marita, and her staff , made me feel like family...My phone got pickpocketed, and when I arrived, overdue, from a trip they all were at the front door wanting to know how I was... and how happy they were to see me....
The host Dani was great, excellent quiet location ❤️
The location is great, almost behind convento Santo Domingo and inca Raíl office. We were 3 persons and they were prepared with three beds, a big room and bathroom. I 100% recommend!
Adequate. Not fancy. They lock the front door late at night.
This is a nice little hotel with very helpful staff. The breakfast room is small, but you can also have breakfast in the beautiful interior court. Breakfast always consists of fruits, yogurts, breads and jam, as well as 2 hot dishes( banabas, eggs, french tasts, etc..). We left our luggage 3 nights to do the inca trail and came back for a night. Our luggage were already waiting for us in the room. The location is perfect. It is a quiet alley, and you can walk to everything in the historic area. Would definitely go back
Great budget friendly option!
It was a lovely option with great service for a budget hotel. The staff even helped us with weighing luggage for our Machu Picchu trip!
Apart from WiFi being a bit slow or non existent everything was great. Location very good, easy walk to old town square, breakfast adequate and staff very friendly and helpful. Laundry next door, useful for travellers like us.
Good location for easy walk to old town. Staff very good and happy to help if they can. Bed very comfy and overall very very clean. Breakfast adequate but Wi-fi almost non existent.
Good hotel, BUT ...
Generally nice hotel located close to the city square. Comfortable room. However, major issue with reception staff when it comes to issuance of receipt for the stay at the end. Room was booked via Expedia, but for money to be paid on site. Despite money paid, I continued to wait for just over 30 minutes while the female receptionist apparently tried to generate a receipt. She was typing away at the computer screen claiming that the reason for delay is due to a ‘complicated’ system. My taxi had already been waiting for me for transfer to airport, and I had to eventually abandon waiting for the ‘official receipt’. There was also apparently no way for them to just write me a simple note on a piece of plain paper, in order to confirm that money had been paid to their establishment.
my Experience
Example our bed spread was stained, however the bed was very comfortable. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was available early which was great for us. There are many choices in Cusco, however at this price this is a good option.
The room is much smaller than expected, basic supply and stale towels
1 night stay
The hotel is very small, same with rooms. Cold because the roof is partially exposed to the outside such that hallways are cold. You have to ask for a floor heater to have heat.
Perfect little hotel, close to the plaza but very quiet. Staff was wonderful, breakfast was good, and I was even surprised with a slice of cake and song on my birthday morning. Would definitely stay agsin!
great location , great breakfast.
Room a bit cold
Room was okay, breakfast was very simple room a bit cold but overall was okay
Nice place, good staff, basic and enough resources
People is nice, close to historical center. Staff is kind and place is clean; I had a not so big enough bed, so if you're traveling with company, ask for a bigger one. Place is really good enough.
Quiet, decent hotel
Pretty decent hotel for the area. Rooms are small, and cold just like any other hotel in the city. Service was great, they held our luggage while we went on a 2 day hike to Machu Picchu. Breakfast was decent. Nothing luxurious about this hotel, but it served it's purpose. Location was far enough to be quiet, but under 10 minute walk to the main square. Would stay here again.
Avoid rooms above kitchen with early start
Uneventful wifi not great
Great affordable hotel close to Plaza Del Armas. Comfortable and welcoming.
Good hotel a short taxi from main square
A friendly hotel a short taxi from the main Plaza. Double beds are standard double so be aware it may be smaller than you're used to.
Excellent. Quiet
Great Staff. Great breakfast. Excellent and corteous lobby staff
Close to the center of Cuzco.
Stayed here to acclimate and check out Cuzco city. I can't stress this enough but great location right close to the cultural and tourism center of the city. In fact, on one trip, I forgot my ticket, let the guide know to wait around fifteen minutes (was still waiting for others) and I just went back to the room found it. The rooms were clean, they have storage space for when you take prolonged trips, e.g. Inca trail. Television service has Spanish cable channels, but a lot of American movies, mostly all in Spanish. Internet was spotty. Had to walk just outside my room for a good Wi-Fi signal. Bathroom was clean and shower was warm and comfortable. Pillows are a bit firm, but I slept well. Overall would recommend this hotel if you're looking for basic accommodations and a great base to explore Cuzco and the surrounding area
A Boutique Hotel
This is truly a "Boutique" hotel, very small, no elevator and sadly under construction with jack hammers going through all daylight hours and into the evening. Fairly convenient walking distance to the shopping area where we found a fantastic restaurant for beer and food. Beds were good, bathroom facilities good and mostly a good stay.
Good base for trips around Cusco
Stayed here 4 nights and will stay another 4. Stayed with a friend, rooms a bit small but adequate, kept very clean. Good location close to the main square, on a quiet street with no traffic (dead end). Staff very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast included - enough choices to fill your stomach before your next adventure.
Just around the corner from the sun temple
great location in cusco, near the temple of the sun (santa domingo) Staff very helpful and profesional. Doors not soundproof, so noise (talking) in lobby made it hard to get to sleep.
Great location, very friendly staff
The Hotel Antawasi was so much more than I expected. For the price, it was very clean, fantastic breakfast each day, wi-fi worked fine at all times, quiet location, and near the main sight-seeing.
Great central location
I really liked this hotel: welcoming staff and welcoming tea, nice room, nice central patio, great location (10 min walk to plaza de armas), free airport pick up and good rates. I totally recommend it!
Great rooms, service, and location
The rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel staff at all shifts were nice and helpful. The location was just far enough away from the main square to be quiet, but close enough to be a few blocks from everything.
Great location with friendly staff
This hotel is very close to all the main tourist locations. It has an adequate breakfast and clean rooms. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. Good value for money.
Great location and staff
Location is very central and a short walk from the main square. The staff are very friendly and helpful, even storing our big luggage while we went to Machu Picchu. It's an older style hotel that could do with a few upgrades (eg better pillows and bed covers). Overall, a comfortable place to stay in a great location with value for money.
Yes for Antawasi
We stayed in Antawasi after our return trip from Puno. I was surprised by how clean and nice the hotel room was inside. We initially stayed at another hotel on a busy street on our first night in Cusco and had other nights reserved in this hotel, but once we stayed at Antawasi we decided to cancel our reservation at the other hotel to stay at Antawasi for the remainder of our trip. Our room in Antawasi was big, enough room for three adults to navigate through and each bed had their own charging station. The accommodations were clean and well worth the money. The street in front of the hotel was intimidating at first because it was on top of the hill on a one way street but we found the hotel was conveniently close to the center. Highly recommend.
Love this hotel
Wonderful little boutique hotel. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice modern bathroom. CNN, BBC etc on TV. Location was fantastic. Right in the middle of shopping, good restaurants, Inca ruins, Spanish overlay construction. The hotel is fantastic and the location as good as you will find.
Great staff, free storage = awesome :)
Very helpful, English speaking staff. Serve you coca tea upon your arrival to help with Cusco's high elevation. Even held our big suitcases in storage for 5 days free of charge while we went on the Salkantay Trek. Room's are a little small but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Good hotel for price
Good hotel, small. I stayed in room with queen bed, they called it the matrimonial room. Room was large with its own bathroom. Always clean, good wifi, cable tv. It is not heated, so sometimes cold, but not under the sheets. My only concern was that hot water was only available in the morning, they probably heat it at night and have a limited amount for the day. Breakfast was good and coca tea wad always available.
Nice hotel close to tourist attractions
This was a nice hotel very easy to find and close to the main square. Staff was friendly and helpful, coca and mint tea was provided through out the day to help with the altitude sickness, the receptionist explained to us about the closes ATM, Pharmacy, Stores and suggested good places fro lunch and dinner. Breakfast good, the room was clean and over all we had a great time staying there.
great hotel
very clean hotel with new bathrooms and comfortable beds. breakfast was good with lots of variety. rooms can be small but was not a problem. service was excellent.
Very helpfull staff.
Very helpfull staff.
Overnight in Cuzco
It was great, nice and Clean. Small and compact but we did not need a lot of room was an overnight hotel. They picked you up from airport but did not take you back which I found unreasonable. Good breakfast.
better alternatives in Cusco
The room was very small, the double bed was a slightly larger than average single bed. The room was clean and the shower was good. Wifi didn't work on the 2nd day and the reception staff were uncooperative, to say the least. The breakfast is disappointing. We moved to a different hotel for the remainder of our stay.
excellent and convinence
We stayed for 2 nigths. The owner and the staff are very nice and helpful. Easy to get around. 5 mins walking distance to the tourist area but not noisy. 24 hrs sercurity, very safe. They were very helpful because our outbound flights was cancelled and they rebooked everything for us without pay any penalty.
Nice place
It is a nice place to stay. It is located just 3 blocks from main square. Friendly staff and good breakfast
Great Affordable hotel near Plaza de Armas!
We stayed at this hotel before and after doing the 4-day Inca Trail hike and had a great experience. The rooms are simple and clean, the staff all speaks English and the showers have hot water and great water pressure. The staff arranged a taxi to both pick us up from the airport and bring us back and were very helpful with restaurant recommendations in the area.
Room was adequate, wifi worked most of the time and location was a reasonable 10-15 minute walk to Plaza de armas. Only negative was a slight smell from the bathroom/toilet. Never ran out of hot water. Friendly staff and reasonable breakfast selection.
My little secret
I stayed here when this place first opened in 2011. I love it. The staff are the best! the rooms are small and cute, nothing fancy. They have free wifi in the lobby, and a simple breakfast. The best thing is it's location. It's directly behind Koricancha and walking distance to anything you need in Cusco. I stay here every time I go to Cusco on my own. :)
Close to main areas & far enough away from noise
The hotel had a very clean and warm feeling. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The extra personal help and cultural connection from the owners and some of the staff has created a life long friendship!
this hotel is different
As I said, the hotel is different. There is no one available to help with luggage. The wi-fi does not reach the rooms, only the lobby. The checkout time is 9AM, be aware!!!! The check-in time is 10AM, which may be a better fit for many people, but that's up to the individuals to decide. Further, they wanted the p[ayment in US dollars.....this is not to say that I was prevented from using local currency or credit card, but it was stressed at checkout that they wanted dollars. I do always bring very clean $100 bills, but she didn't like my dirty $20....too bad, I said, this is Peru, not the USA. The room itself was small, but comfortable, somewhat difficult for two people to move around at the same time. The bathroom was clean, decent-sized, with a good shower. Breakfast was average, could have been better, but was by no means bad. Too many slightly wrong things for me to recommend the hotel. The price was inexpensive, but the location (12-15 minutes from Plaza de Armas) negates the good price.
Enjoyed our stay
Very helpful staff! Also in a good location. Only a 10-15 min walk to central plaza up sol avenue wether all tourist shops are located.
Comfortable stay
This hotel was very clean and comfortable and reasonably priced compared to other hostels closer to the main Plaza de Armas. (It was only about a five minute walk from the main plaza). The beds were very nice and the showers were hot. There was also a nice continental breakfast buffet in the morning with fresh juice and eggs. There was some street noise on the morning but nothing that woke us up early and it was always quiet at night because it is away from busy areas. It was really nice to stay here after camping and trekking for five days!
Good location and pleasant
Very convenient location near the Qoricancha temple ruin. Helpful staff, clean room.
Good for overnight stay
Clean rooms and good for overnight halt. The reception was accomodative in helping us find a room on the lower floors in the hotels but the constant selling of tours was a bit of a put off. one of the receptionists actually asked us how much we had paid for our Machu Picchu tour! Breakfast is very basic. Had to call the hotel three times for our pick up from the airport after having confirmed twice over the email that we will be picked up !! Also, there was no hot water in the morning but was sorted once informed.
Very good service
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. the one major glitch was the promotion which appeared on Expedia for this airport. Expedia reported that this hotel had free airport shuttle service. This is not entirely accurate. They only do free pickup. After that you are on your own. The ad should have read free airport pickup.
The best hotel in Cusco
This was a great experience. This is a great value hotel with excellent service and a great location. The hotel is just a few blocks from the main plaza de armas, so it is definitely walking distance. We never had to take a taxi in Cusco except to go to the airport. But the greatest part of our stay at Antawasi was the service. The staff is very helpful and they go out of their way to make sure everything is ok.
Good value for money.
Small rooms, but clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here. It's about 10 min from plaza des armes. The staff was friendly and helpful. Best of all, the showers were hot and the water pressure was great.
Hotel was fine for what it was worth - low budget option - yes, you can hear noises next door and breakfast was just ok but what do you expect with such low price?
Cozy bed and breakfast
A very nice and cozy place to lay your head. If you're looking for a low price, with a good breakfast included you'll love it. They arrange a shuttle from the airport and to the train station. Very nice people and close to the markets and main attractions in Cusco.
Good spot for short stay
Only stayed one night but very convenient for the central cusco station, and staff were helpful in organising taxis.
Just Okay
Great location, just make sure you have enough cash for the room. Apparently my credit card did not work here, but worked everywhere else. Spent half hour on phone (international) trying to figure out what issue was. CC company said "nothing wrong, hotel terminal issue". Had to pay extra service fee to withdraw cash, then hotel had issue with a US20, small crease in one side. Make sure you make your 20's fresh before you pay!!! Was slightly inconvenienced by this and left a bad taste. Had another small issue with trying to have a friend in the room. Apparently no visitor's allowed! Felt like was still living at home but paying for my room?? Hotel a bit noisy, all windows faced the inside court so you could hear everyone come and go. Pricey rooms considering everything else seemed to be half the price.
very nice 3 star hotel in cusco
great location j. just a few block from everything in cusco. breakfast very good . nice hot showers. good tv with english channels. free airport pickup.very warm but heavy blankets.very clean!
great hotel, needs better pillows
Great staff, nice and cosy hotel. I had to ask gor different pillows, other than that I would totally return.
Simple, Yet Inviting
Only stayed for one night. Was very small and welcoming. Rooms were average, but the staff was very helpful and attentive.
Great hotel
Great hotel, not far from main attractions. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Quiet street.
We Liked It
Nice place, good location, great breakfast. I am going back
I was perfectly satisfied with all aspects of my stay. Hotel is like new, Staff is very helpful. Price reasonalbe. Located close to older part of Cusco.
Great Location
The hotel receptionist was pleasant and accommodating. Upon our arrival we were given a Coca tea to help our altitude sickness then give us a free map. There location was spot on near the main tourist attraction. At night, it was freezing cold and no heater in the entire room we just used the Alpaca blankets which is slightly useful.
A great value with high international standards
Relative to our other hotels in Peru, Antawasi was about as close to a North American hotel as it gets. We stayed in the hotel on two separate occasions. The second room was smaller than the first but still in the same excellent condition. Very clean lobby, breakfast area and rooms. The hotel appears to have just opened because the interior is in immaculate condition. Wifi in the rooms is also an added perk. Many hotels say internet access but it may just be in the lobby and not in your room. I was also surprised by the TV, which isn't why you'd come to Peru, but it was nice to have so many selections. The other hotels we stayed at didn't have a TV or only provided a few spanish only stations. Truly a great value that made us very comfortable. Lots of laundry places nearby if you need to wash your clothes afterwards. (better rates than the hotel) Plenty of plugs to charge your gear and well insulated rooms. Insulated from the cold and noise. The city can be noisy and wakes early. We didn't hear anything all night. Great night sleep
Is good
Nice 2star property in central Cusco. Sufficient for a weekend stay.
