Friendly and professional staff.

My 2 weeks stay was pleasant, the front desk, in the restaurant or meeting someone from housekeeping, all very friendly and professional. Definitely will come back, again and again. So close to everything to have fun and meet family and friends.

The room needs a clothing iron and a kettle or coffee maker. Some of the outlets did not work, the fees for the snacks in the room were wild. $6.50 USD for a small bottle of water and a mentos. Breakfast was good

very old room, stains on all the sheets, couches, electric outlet did not work. The front desk agent did not greet, he was on his cell phone while i was standing there to check in. The house man was nice. We had booked a suite, dint even unpack, went to the bathroom, the tiolet wouldnt flush. Asked them to cahnge the room but they did not have the same room type so downgraded our room and switched but the same issue. they did offer us complimentary dinner for our inconvenience. But the hotel needs major update. The rooms smell bad. Thank god we chceked out after one night. Did not want to spend any time there.

Wonderful location, walk distance of pharmacy, market, bars, clubs, restaurants, brewery’s and spas. Executive suite is very spacious, but unfortunately the floor wasn’t clean in need of few updates in the bathroom. Safe never worked. We’ve request front desk to repair, unfortunately they didn’t. The parking is outside the premises, you would need to request front desk to walk with you and open the gate, every time you need your car, in most cases it took few minutes for them to find someone to walk over, to let’s us in or out. Overall the food wasn’t bad but wasn’t that’s great either. Very basic breakfast.

Everything great except their coffee!

Great spot to stay and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Lima. Loved the Jacuzzi tub and sauna! Close to everything you could need from restaurants and shopping to parks and entertainment.

I did not stayed at the hotel. My room was not there for me and the moved me to another hotel . Far from that one and not same quality. Do not book this hotel

Very Nice stay

The hôtel is very beautiful with a friendly and helpful staff, rooms are clean, cosy, with a lot of space, well decorated, beds are comfortables, and yes we have the heat! It is well located with shops and cute restaurants around, and you can walk easily. We recommand this place !

Loved most of things in this hotel… beware that the saunas are particular to your booked room. I didn’t know that ahead of time and assumed that it was like any other hotel. Breakfast was great. The city air quality is extremely poor, so I would not stay that many days.

Very cute hotel and very good service

The rooms were clean and quiet. The Buffet breakfast was good. Unfortunately the staff were not overly helpful. Stayed here twice and on both occasions we had to wait up to an hour over check in time for our room. On second visit there were no towels and had to wait 2 hours for them. Staff could be friendlier.

One of my favourite hotel stays! This was such a great find - hotel staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The breakfast was buffet style and had a huge variety of hot foods, breads, desserts, juices, etc. and was always a highlight of our day. The room itself was spacious, clean, and smelled amazing. The area around the hotel is both walkable and quiet and not overly touristy. Exceeded my expectations for sure.

Lovely place

Very comfortable and very friendly staff. Ended up coming in very late due to a mishap at the airport yet we were greeted kindly and got checked in quickly. Will stay here again.

The room is excellent. It is my first day and I stayed inside all day. It seems they reduce the air conditioner during the day. But I complained and they turned it back on. So far it’s very nice.

I can't imagine find anything better in lima. I wanted to extend to my stay but they will booked.

Hidden charges

I was charged $5 for a bottle of water in the bathroom. Did not know this until checkout. Water that should have been complimentary. Building is old. This hotel is three stars not four.

Great location and the staff went out of their way to help us in all aspects especially the recommendations of where to eat and making the bookings, especially Julio Llanos who made our stay. Our accommodation room 209 was great and nice character. The breakfast was excellent A great place to stay.

Romantic staying and pleasant

We travel to celebrate new year in Lima and we had a romantic night with celebration in the room, that had a terrace and jacuzzi. All was according to the price that we paid, we got the same double room that we booked. Excellent service and very good breakfast. As a professional hotel manager I only can suggest that the owners should renovate only some things in the rooms, to keep the same elegant traditional colony style, and of course check the cleaning of the carpet, that was the only thing careless that I could see. But the rest was excellent and pleasing in general. We had a good memory of our staying.

Nice place to stay during business trip

A pleasing exterior leads to a faulty interior. The room we got was old and stinky because wait for it, it is a SMOKING property. The bathroom had mold on the walls, and inside the nozzles of the spa tub. Breakfast buffet was utterly mediocre, coffee tasted like it was day old and had be reused? Cereal was stale. This place looks nice, but is not. Would not recommend staying here.

We booked this location on a recommendation from a friend as a hotel with Peruvian charm. Our room was not available and we were sent to stay at the tacky Hotel & Casino across the street. We used your restaurant & concierge service and were very happy with the service they provided.

NEVER SPENT ONE NIGHT HERE...ROOM NEVER READY

On our recent trip to Peru we made reservations through Expedia months in advance, called and emailed in advance to confirm and was told all was confirmed. We arrived at the hotel and were told our room was not ready, there was some sort of plumbing issue. They sent us across the street to the El Condando Hotel and asked us to return the next day. We did and our room was still not ready with no estimate of when it would be ready...we spent the rest of our stay at the El Condando. We were told it would be less expensive and a discount for our inconvenience. Not only were we overcharged based on our confirmation from Expedia, we were never provided a detailed bill from EITHER hotel and are now disputing it with our credit card because neither EXPEDIA or the Hotel will help us resolve the billing and simply provide us with an itemized receipt. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Great location

Our experience was very good for the most part. The location was excellent, the staff was very good. The hotel is located on a street that is busy, but not too busy, pretty good for walking. There is a grocery store adjacent to the property on the corner and there are several restaurants and shops located within five minutes walking time. The only issue that we really had, was that our family had reserved four rooms and they could only accommodate three of the rooms at that time because of A plumbing issue that had occurred. They did take care of the fourth party by placing them in a room, in the hotel across the street. The breakfast buffet was excellent and well presented each and every day. We did not have dinner at the hotel, because there were too many options locally in the surrounding neighborhood. I did have one issue regarding the laundry service, I tried to get a couple shirts washed and pressed, they failed to pick them up and I had to go to an outside source, which was inconvenient.

My Booked Room Was Unavailable

I booked this hotel through Expedia several weeks before traveling. I had a long flight. My kids were tired and looking forward to check in the hotel. To our surprise we were told that our room was still occupied and they had us wait a very long time in the lobby. The manager arranged for us to go to a hotel across the street. We still had to wait for the other hotel to bring one more bed. We were three people, me, my daughter and my son. It was not that comfortable to have only two beds. very disappointing.

Hotel said check in was at 3 pm but confirmation from Expedia said from 1 pm. The hotel was able to let us check in at around 2 pm and they gave us a very nice room on the ground floor opening onto a small courtyard. The room has a safe and a well stocked fridge but we were able to buy bottled water and fresh fruits from the supermarket two doors away. I thought the best was the breakfast, it was wonderful and can beat a five star hotel any time. We even had a choice of so many types of tea from a magnificent presentation box. I would definitely go back to the Antara if I go to Lima again.

Not our best experience

Good sized room. Bathroom in need of update and affected by noise from kitchen. Restaurant cramped. Room still not serviced by 4.00 pm. No towels left on another day. Late query about credit card on day before arrival not conducive to relaxed stay.not recommended.

Don'stay here

What a mistake. I was put in a "broom Closet" the first night. Rm 204. It wasn't a hotel room but I believe a changing room for the Sauna/Steam room with a bed. I complained but they couldn't do anything about it until the next day. Didn't sleep !!! No air conditioning . Moved the next day to the room we had agreed to. After complaining I was given a small rebate.Breakfast average. Service below standard.If it weren't for the manager they could just as well close the doors.

Only there for one night, but I liked the hotel and it was in a good location.

Great place to begin Inka adventure

Great location n front desk help. We were upgraded to a matrimonial suite n helped with restaurants n sight seeing advice. Hotel was gorgeous with a rustic but elegant look/feel; we had a patio n sauna in our suite Wonderful way to start our Peru adventure. Price was excellent would have paid more. Christian was great help, he even walked us to restaurant even though we did not ask.

Good Hotel in a great neighborhood

The hotel is nice but with a more classical infrastructure. They serve a good breakfast and the rooms are clean. The only problem I had was with the air conditioning, which did not seem to work properly.

Antara - beware of the room sizes!

I rebooked a double room at Antara hotel having had a great experience the previous time. At check in I was told the room would be smaller than the last time, which was fine since the room was huge before. But seeing the room was a real disappointment! It was tiny, just a bed with hardly room, a huge difference from the previous one, not even worthy of a 1* hotel. I told the manager I could not stay there and wanted to cancel. I was looking for an alternate room on my laptop when the proposed to put me up in the Fiesta Casino hotel, worth about $30 more, for the same rate. Great deal! But be careful when booking rooms, they are the same and definitely not like in the pictures. I think the first time I got an executive room for the price of a double, huge room with a sauna, a real bar and huge bed!

Nice original charming hotel

The hotel has a lot of charm, lots of effort was made on the decoration to use local art. Restaurant is right by the entrance with an outdoor terrace where the breakfast buffet is served. Also has tables indoor. Friendly staff. I got an amazing room #205 at the double room rate, huge King Size bed, big flat screen TV, small Sauna! and a bar, an actual bar with glasses hanging from the top. Also had a large table. And a window across the whole room giving on the street, not noisy. The location is great, walking distance from the Larcomar mall right on the beach, lots of shops, 2 casinos within 100 meters, nice park on Larco avenue, coffee shops, restaurants and Banks with ATMS. Very location in Miraflores.

Expected much more

My wife and I stayed there for a night in Lima. We had stayed there previously so were expecting a similar stay. Unfortunately, it was not the same. The room itself needed some work - hot water was inconsistent, the phone did not work, breakfast was sub-par and the hotel decided to clean the shared terrace the morning we were scheduled to check out. We weren't offered to switch rooms, and were too tired to push for them to do so. Staff was friendly however, and the location was good.

Very cute, smaller hotel.

Antara was very cute. The greenery combined with the older style of the building was perfect. The staff was very nice and Alexis let us eat free breakfast despite the fact that we arrived three hours before check in. It is an older style building and the smell is not for everyone. We did notice renovations we under way in the rooms next to us but they were very quite and polite. They street noise is awful. In Lima it is common to hear car horns anywhere you go but it was particularly disrupting here at all hours or the day and night. Mainly because the AC was useless and we had to have the window open. I would recommend this place for a temporary stay as ours had been but nothing longer.

Cant say more great things about this local Peru 4* hotel. Why stay at a homogenous western chain? when you could sample a luxury local with character at a faction of the price. The room and food was fine... but the Staff is extraordinary. They really looked out for me.

The people just could not be nicer. It has ambience and great things like free valet parking, free internet that actually works and is fast, free breakfast, great location, very comfortable beds and even a fireplace in the bedroom.

Friendly staff, clean , comfortable small hotel

This hotel is small, but the rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. We were on the top floor, overlooking the street. The staff are very helpful. The driver that picked us up from the airport was still smiling and relaxed after waiting two hours for us . The airline had lost our luggage and we had to wait to fill in forms etc. finally got through at 2am. The hotel is well situated, close to the shopping area and many restaurants . They arranged for a city tour for us that was excellent. I would stay here again.

Excellent, beautiful, wonderful Hotel

I loved it! The room is very big, the bed was very comfortable, the decoration is really beautiful, it has a samll fireplace, a seating area and a dining area, the bathroom is big with a delicious shower head. It is very cozy and I was very surprised to find this hotel. I will definitely will stay there everytime I come to Lima. I wanted to stay three additional nights but the room wasn't available through Hotels.com so I decided to get another hotel. Hopefully next time it will be available again through Hotels.com

Tired Hotel needs remodeling

Excellent helpful staff who tried real hard to over come this tired hotel. This hotel needs upgrading, some windows didn't close and the bathroom jacuzzi was old and not very clean. On the plus side the breakfast was very good. Overall this hotel was not worth it's dollar.

I liked that it is a small hotel and not a chain, and it's really cozy. However, it may look a bit old-fashioned, and the water in the shower is a bit low. Aside from that, the hotel is very convenient and close to everything. The breakfast is good, the people are friendly, and the bed is comfortable.
