The room was spacious and the price was great. The shower pressure could have been much better. Besides that it was a good experience.

Small, dated and poor facilities. You get what you pay for

Stayed in the Pukeko Suite, it was cute, clean and comfortable. The property looks abit tired, some areas could do with a lick of paint and tidy up. Other than that it was reasonably priced.

Had an awesome stay here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Had a free room upgrade which was a nice surprise. Location is by the river and and shops within walking distance which was perfect. Would love to come back again :)

Clean rooms, left to do our thing, plenty of space and lawns around the complex and being a little distant from town is not an issue.

Beautiful place to stay

The floor sloped in our room and the bed was the same so not very comfortable at all. Very dated and property not well maintained.

The room was warm & clean. Very good value for money. Would be good to have a small hot plate in addition to a microwave. Shower excellent - large & excellent flow. Clean comfy bed. Some electrical fittings need attention, safety hazard - electric blanket control had exposed wires, taped up. Broken / Loose power points. Great outdoor setting & facilities.

It is a well placed motel right across the road from the river. The staff were very helpful. It was extremely clean. I liked the little additions that give it character .e.g. The lovely big light shade in the main bedroom, and a heater. The motel is painted a dark charcoal colour, but don't be put off by that as the staff are extremely helpful, and the suites are well presented.

Good value for the price. Convenient location.

Nice motel. Quite and save. The location is a 'bit out of town' but for us that was an advantage .

If you want to stay somewhere cheap and cheerful Anndion is the place for you. The rooms are clean and the staff are pleasant and helpful. A loose shower head was fixed promptly and the cleaning staff eager to please. We would stay again and recommend to others. Good value.

Great location

I had to defrost freezer box to shut the fridge door. The bed and couch was too low, difficult for someone with disabilities to get out of. However we had a comfortable and pleasant stay, and would probably stay there again.

Was a nice quiet spot for a getaway, facilities were nice and room had just what was needed.

Starting to show its age with a lot of repairs and maintenance needed but still a comfortable and affordable place.

Comfortable stay

Very noisy guests in adjoining room, 5am they woke me with very noisy kitchen activities, pots banging etc. Loud voices both inside their room and in the passageway outside my door, they departed, in work vans around 6am.

Good gave a free upgrade. Quite and peaceful. Not so good - Lolly stuck on headboard of bed (still there). Out door furniture dirty with cobwebs. Tree rubbing on roof in the wind a bit noisy.

Slow / non existent service

Place was ok. Most importantly it was clean. When I arrived I had driven from Hamilton to New Plymouth to Stratford to Hawera then onto Whanganui. I was tired and needed a toilet stop. I waited what stemmed like an eternity for service at the reception desk despite walking through the electronic sore beep several time and calling out. I could here people behind the wall so was very frustrated.

Decent value hotel short drive from Victoria Street restaurants and shopping. Reasonably well equipped kitchenette. Small but nice pool. Across the street from the park and the river on the road toward the National Park

Easy parking. A lot of space Stairs we did not like

What was advertised on the internet was nothing like we where given never coming back. Worst place I have ever stayed !!!

Lovely staff and excellent cleanliness. Some holes in the walls where signs taken down and generally unusual decor but all fit for purpose

We had three adults and were offered the poolside apartment - perfect for a meal in and right by the pool to spend an afternoon of relaxation - perfection in space and accommodation Excellent value for money

May was delightful, place was clean and tidy and had all we needed. Swimming was a bonus.

Older property. Eclectic furnishings and decorations. I like that each room had a name and theme. Great shower. Very clean. Nice property grounds. Very nice staff. The walls were a little thin so gould hear the neighboring room.

The staff were friendly and thoughtfully turned on the fan in our room, as there is no aircon. While there were updated aspects in the bedroom, the toilet seat was not properly attached, the bathroom tap did not run properly, the blinds were very dusty, the bathroom fan didnt work, and the smoking area was below the bedroom, so smoke came in our unit. So overall, attention to detail was needed. There were no staff in the office to advise of these issues (and about 4 others!) and my email explaining them has not been replied, so that is not great customer service. With a few tweaks, this could be a great stay.

I don’t want to damn this place with faint praise, because there are lots of positives. Firstly, it’s cheap. Secondly the staff are very kind and thoughtful. Thirdly it’s very clean. Did I mention it’s cheap? You get what you paid for. I was given a free upgrade to one of the “suites”, which I very much appreciated. But, it’s basic accommodation, nothing fancy. If you want posh, don’t come here. If you want cheap and cheerful, try this place out. Oh, and the best thing of all, it had heated towel rails, which many places at twice the price don’t even.

Property is a bit dated but studio suite was spacious and comfortable. Nice riverside walk apposite. Good ovetnight stay.

I was in the PalmView suite which was a hotel room with a wetroom bathroom complete with secure grab rails. The room had a small frig and jug but it was as not set for meals. Good bed and a large picture window looking towards the river. Single glazing let the day time traffic in but because it is essentially in a residential area traffic was quiet at night. The operation was essentially thee house combined so it was a bit random. It does cater for seasonal workers in the lodge area so expect a bit of busy ness early evening.

Property recently purchases with owners currently upgrading. Very friendly and should do well.

Loved the room layout

Just felt bedding, pillow cases, bedspread looked very old and gave no confidence in using.

Property was a little run down looking, however room was large and had everything we needed

Majority of units have steps to gain access - this does not show on web site. As my wife has mobility issues asked for unit without steps - got told none were available. Seemed strange most units were vacant. Units are un-serviced because of COVID? Our unit was not provided with an additional toilet roll - office closed and had to go out at 9.30pm to buy. Checked out on Sunday 10.00am office not open - closed because it was the quiet time of the year - could not make them aware of the issue with the toilet rolls - wondered why they were unable to provide a unit without steps if it was quiet. Units are not air conditioned temperature during stay over 26 degrees - only free view TV

Friendly staff & convenient location. Interiors fine. Great shower. Kitchen & bathroom facilities need repair - vanity tiles coming off wall, black mouldy looking silicone & badly water damaged kitchenette. Reception smelt badly of dog. Our room was a fire exit so was supposed to be left unlocked which seemed odd. Thankful of curtains as room was open onto a conservatory which was freezing.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and accommodating allowing me to use the sauna outside of operating hours as a Health and Fitness Professional. The Motel was near a park which allowed me to run then quick plunge into the salt pool yes its cold but so beneficial to recovery for your body then sauna to follow. Washing and drying facilities in the main building you need pay of course but great if you need your clothes laundered

Good place to stay

Lovely place to stay, nice sized room. Getting a little dated and the main bed was a little worn. Room was very dark as not much natural light got in but for the price it was great. good location a few km out of town Owners are fantastic and friendly. Nice to have the pool as well

Swimming pool was nice. Close to city centre. Spa was not working. Amenities are old.

I was very pleased with my room everything was to a good standard and the quality of service was very helpful and friendly, overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.....it was especially a great bonus having access to the walkway and park alongside the river across the road.

Very, very good. Quiet, clean and far enough away from everything without it being too far. We were behind the pool area and made good use of the pool & spa. Highly recommend.

No Microwave in room, paid extra for own bathroom and didn't even get the usual room amenities I expected, that you normally would expect for this sort of pricing. . Was right on the road front so noisy! Had a small fridge only and an electric jug! NO Microwave, which lets face it, most travelers will use! So cold dinner! Will not be staying again, when returning annually!

only down fall was the queen bed was two singles pushed together

Liked the location near the river.. didn’t like the condition of the premises. The deck is a safety hazard. The shower is very poky . The door knobs required attention. The hand basin in the toilet was coming away from the wall. Money needs to be spent. I believe that the premises have new owners. When the founding owners had it, it was kept beautiful.

The shower was dirty, the chandelier light fitting had not been cleaned for years and only 2 of the 5 lights worked. The curtains were ripped and the fridge only just cooled the food inside. It was very noisy with other guests, who obviously had to share the bathroom and toilets, talking and using the amenities late at night and very early in the morning. On the positive side the bed was very comfortable.

Wish we could have stayed another night

Stayed for one night on route to Wellington from Rotorua. Clean room, very comfortable bed. Wish we’d arrived early enough to make use of the pool, hot tub and sauna facilities. Friendly service included good advice on where to go out to eat that night. Located on the outskirts of town rather than central.

Friendly, comfortable, a little funky

Reception was friendly and helpful. She upgraded our room to one upstairs with a little view. The place is a little funky and worn but our room was comfortable. The motel is across the street from the river and an extensive greenway.

Perfectly fine and reasonable price

Warm room, good view, a bit tired looking, many flies on ceiling, intrusive exterior lights, some traffic noise. Friendly reception. Didnt use other facilities. Lovely heated bathroom floor.

It was very noisy room. Also curtains above the bed was short so outside lights came through. Other then that it was a great room and great hospitality from the owner.
