Good, but could be better.
So the hotel location is good, the room was large and comfortable, but the bath didn’t work and I was only told on the day that I was arriving. However, I did hear another jacuzzi bath from about 10pm, which was quite loud. Other issues were the following 1. parking, if you arrive from 4:30pm onwards, no problem as the parking is maximum 2 hours (£20), and free after 6:30pm. 2. One of the towels smelt quite bad.. the other was fine and smelt clean, but one did have a not so nice smell. 3. The kettle was full. I know that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but in terms of hygiene, you should empty and dry kettles as standing water for a prolonged period can be quite dangerous. 4. Someone else managed to turn on my TV at 10:15pm, went onto Disney and tried to play a show - bit odd, but I didn’t fancy watching the bear. 5. There isn’t any reception, just keypads to enter the property, this includes the bedroom, although you can lock the door from the inside. I don’t know, I just didn’t think it felt that secure… All in all it was a comfortable stay, but there was plenty to be improved on. I also think there should be more clarity on the parking and if there are any issues (which have clearly been there longer than that day) they should be mentioned at the time of booking, or at least a few days in advance as the only reason I stayed in the hotel was for the bath.
The property is actually quite nice but the people in the room above thought it would be a good idea to have a jacuzzi at 3:15 and then stomp around all over the room for the next hour!!! Which is probably okay if you’re not there for work. If you are this was just really rubbish and maybe not the right place to stay
Everything was fine🙂👌
Haunted
My partner and I enjoyed our stay. The room was everything I hoped for. Very much enjoyed the hot tub!! Great view of the city from our window, which was a bonus to wake up to. The only reason I cannot give a perfect rating, the bed was a little uncomfortable and we could of done with 2 more towels. Other than that, we loved our stay.
It was cute. Looks like dorm apartments. WiFi was terrible. We were told to use the coffee shop downstairs WiFi in the meantime and password was wrong. Had to go ask. No TV as in no regular channels. Needed to sign in for Netflix etc. overall good if you aren’t going to be home. Affordable. Clean.
Excellent stay here for 1 night. Excellent communication from the owner providing helpful information in accessing the property etc. Really pleased with the room - was very clean and comfy, loved the jacuzzi bath.
Good stay, nice area, very quiet however due to rain and upstairs rooms hot tub the ceiling began to leak resulting in using the bin to catch the water which created a bad smell in the room. Wasn’t a major issue but should be looked at for repair
Don’t stay.
Unclear information about self check in. ‘Hotel’ would message my WhatsApp which felt invasive and the image was of some random bloke which felt unprofessional. Noise from the floorboards in the room above was awful awful awful. The pigeons outside the back window were loud as well and the street lights were not blocked out by the shutters. Will never go back.
It was quite a small room, but fairly recently renovated and nicely appointed. We knew going in that there would not be any housekeeping service during our week-long stay. Toiletries such as shampoo and shower get were provided as well as a bath towel and hand towel for each of us. We did not use the jacuzzi during our stay. It was nice to have Netflix, Amazon Prime and the BBC available on the television. It is totally self check-in. We received codes to get into the building and our room. The only person we saw associated with the hotel was the cleaning person we passed in the hallway.
Not great
The bed was uncomfortable, the linnin and towels were cheap and over used. There was not enough furniture, no desk or bedside tables, and the room was not clean to a good standard. You can here other people through the floor and the weird spa baths make a lot of noise. I was woken at 2 pm from the noise
Very ticky check in process. No staff on site to greet you and provide any info. Spent an hour trying to contact management before receiving checkin instructions
This is such a lovely neighborhood! So glad we picked Angel to stay because we just adored the area, so many cute shops and pubs (find Camden Alley!) and the giant bathtubs in the room were amazing after a long day of walking! They let us do an early check in which was also incredibly helpful after taking a red eye flight here. Really lovely rooms with a quaint view. From the neighborhood we easily took the bus and train anywhere we wanted to go; but it was nice staying in such a quiet, charming area.
The place has potential to be really cool but the focus on a bathtub in the room rather than practical things like end tables, proper sun block for the windows or any sort of air circulation make this place fairly disagreeable to stay at. The bed was also so worn out that it felt like sleeping on a downhill angle and the coffee shop downstairs turned into a club without warning and we got bass through the floor and cigarette smoke blowing in through the windows we couldn’t close because the room was too hot.
The price was very good . The hot tub in the room is a huge plus. The room was a little worn out. There was one big hair in the hose of the hot tub, I’m being a bit petty and fussy there I know. The plug was unconnected to the chain so had big difficulties in pulling the plug. Having a member of staff to contact on WhatsApp is a great idea. Any questions I was able to text and would get a reply.
Good value
Very convenient for Islington and surroundings, not the most straightforward check-in but found the place to be good value and everything was as expected. Would stay again.
Nice little apartment
We had a lovely stay here No reception or anything, just entry codes Room was clean & warm, roads were quiet A big fridge in the room Kettle , tea/coffee and a shot of UHT milk provided Bed was very soft Smart TV Hot tub was not the biggest but very nice Pophams Bakery down the road is an absolute gem & great place to get breakfast
I really enjoyed my weekend in there the room was clean bed was comfortable Ricardo was so helpful with any of my questions I would stay there again 😊
Angel townhouse
Hotel clean and tidy room a bit basic no wardrobe to hand your clothes ,stand in corner with shelf’s and a rail that some coat hangers could have been put on .No glasses for a drink ,2 little pods of milk if you wanted a strong cup of tea, tea coffee milk not topped up daily only had on day of arrival.looked a bit run down and feel a bit expensive for a room . Didn’t see anyone from the hotel just sent 2 codes on the day of arrival 1 for front door 1 for your room didn’t see anyone from the hotel at all .
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and well-kept — and to our pleasant surprise, housekeeping tidied up, made our bed, and refreshed the bottled water on day 3/4. The jacuzzi was a nice touch. However, there are a few things we think are worth noting, and for future travelers to keep in mind. On the day of arrival, you’ll receive a text via WhatsApp from the host, including a link to complete payment. When we received this text from a random number, we assumed it was spam (since we thought we had paid via Expedia), so we ignored it initially. However, this step is required in order to receive the door codes. As foreign travelers, we were surprised that we had to pay via a suspicious link, and that we weren’t notified of this until we were on our way to the hotel from the airport. There is no staff present so this is the only way to access the rooms. The hotel is located in a second and third-story townhome, directly above a restaurant/bar. The plus side is their food is delicious; however, on Friday night, they stayed open until at least 1am, with loud music playing and cigarette smoke lingering in our room. If you request a room on the other side of the hotel, these things may not be as bad. There are no lifts/elevators, so be prepared to carry your luggage up 1-2 flights of stairs. Finally, the WiFi did not work. We connected to the restaurant’s WiFi instead, which was far more stable, but this was disappointing considering the price point.
