It was our family's second time at ANEW RESORT Hunters Rest, and it outdid the first time which was great! Again, we had a family birthday being celebrated, and we were greeted by Thabang at reception with a message from the staff. That was followed by a cake and a written greeting card upon arrival at our accommodation, which had been generously upgraded much to our great pleasure and comfort. We had an enjoyable weekend and the pool was a main hangout for our children. We appreciated the coureous service in all respects - reception, dining, etc. and some names come to mind - Thabang, Tshego (reception), Boibelo, Dimakaso and Chris (dining) - of course we can't forget to Big Up GM Stephan (whose guiding hand we are sure was at work - we hope to see him next time we visit). Keep up the good work ALL!

Terrible Stay for our anniversary

hile I appreciated some aspects of the hotel, there were several issues that affected the overall experience. I believe this feedback will help you improve your services. Romantic Turn-Down Service I had requested a romantic turn-down for my stay, and unfortunately, it was not done on the evening of my arrival (Friday). I followed up on Saturday, and again, the requested service was not provided. This was a key part of my expectations for the stay, and its absence was disappointing. Hot Water Issue On Saturday morning, there was no hot water available in our room. It took approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes for the issue to be resolved. This was inconvenient, especially considering the early morning hours when hot water is typically expected for a comfortable start to the day. Room Door Lock Issue Our room door did not lock properly from the outside, and we reported this issue on Friday. Unfortunately, despite our request, it was not addressed or fixed during our stay, which left us feeling concerned about the security of our room. This is a critical matter that requires prompt attention. While I understand that some of these issues may have been caused by unforeseen circumstances, I feel that they detracted from the overall quality of our stay. I trust that the hotel will take the necessary steps to address these issues to ensure a better experience for future guests.

Dissatisfied

Dissapointed at the resort, warm pool was cold, we were told that they put the pimp off. Went to the restaurant ans after 15 mins of no service we has to get up 3 times to get a waiter. No dusbin bags in the rooms so had no where to throw away dirty nappies. No sink to wash bottles. Would not have this under a family resort.

We enjoyed our stay the place is beautiful pity i was a bit dissapointed with the cleanliness of our room on our arrival and the blocked drain.our room didnt have the microwave as per the advertisement,but overall beautiful place ,staff is very friendly.

Got the wrong room

I did not get the room that I booked. I booked the family self-catering and got the superior family room, which was very run down. The toilet seat was broken and there was mold in the shower. I specifically booked the self-catering room for this purpose.

Great property with a lot of fun things to do. The food was pretty bad and the staff are not helpful.

The property has a lot of activities like golf, hiking etc....

Rooms need attention

The communal areas were great but the rooms need attention. We stayed in an eco room and everything was broken. I would not pay that money again. Not happy with my stay. Room 246.

Anew Resorts - Home away from Home

Anew Resorts is trully a great destination for families. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and the whole family felt at home.

The rooms are comfortable and neat. Enjoyed our pool and service at the pool. Their dinner buffet was not upto my standard on Saturday hence we opted for dinner at Waterfall mall. Breakfast was okay however their omlette did not have relevant fitters. Not sure if they were lazy to chop ingredient.

The location it is situated on it's own is refreshing, it was the best peaceful birthday outing, I think they prioritize buffet to other meals because we waited for over 25min for a pizza and chicken curry, in overall I'd still choose that place whenever I need to escape the busyness and the crazy challenges of life

The staff were friendly and professional. Our room was ok, the couch was filthy with stain marks & fridge had old food in it. We needed glasses as they catered for 2 instead of 4 people. Also had ring 4 times to get room service.

The facility offers great value for outdoor activities.

my stay was awesome up untill i had a leakage in my bathroom, room 248, and i almost slipped to fall as pregnant as i am. the neighbours were rowdie and noisy and i had to stay up untill 3am on my first night. but overall the staff is friendly and my issues were sourted out immediately.

The hotel is beautiful but looks can be deceiving. Our room had a number of issues: 1 the shower door did not close so the floor was soaked (even with a bath matt), 2. the phone did not work, I had to make a number of calls with my mobile. 3. The TV would not work - but it was attended to the following day, 4. the hot water (only in the bath) took forever to run, 5. the MC at the pool was so loud you couldn't hear what he was saying, 6. the service was so slow I think they are understaffed, I had to walk up to someone who worked there every time asking for a cup of coffee during breakfast, 7. the pool was always dirty

I like the programs they are creating to keep the children occupied. However the room I was given was not the one I requested and the carpets were dirty. we were booked for a Gala dinner of which the staff had no idea about.

A few days in Rustenberg

Overall it was a great holiday. we enjoyed every bit i.e. children games, range of activities etc. One of the receptionists confused us about whether breakfast was included in our price or not - so clarity is always good for a better experience.

The garden is a mess, we found a dirty plate,wine glass, iron and ironing board in the balcony. But the swimming pool area is amazing I must say

The staff were friendly and bedding etc was clean. Nice big shower area and separate toilet. No refund for days you could not stay is highway robbery. I checked out a day earlier and lost out on payment I made more than a month back.

Beautiful setting on large grounds. Reception and restaurant area looks newly renovated and top class, but the room needs an update. Bathroom seems renovated but there are white paint splashed everywhere and the shower was shocking with almost no water pressure. I booked since a gym was advertised, but the gym looks terrible with very old equipment. Staff generally very friendly and dinner was very good.

my stay was great, had a wonderful time with family and friends and the hospitality for the stuff was fantastic. big up to the team at the pool bar and the one for who were organising the activities and music for the guest.

This was a last-minute booking through Expedia. The staff at the hotel did a great job working with us even though the booking was delayed by the internet. They were very pleasant and accommodating and pleasant. We had to leave early the next morning. I discovered that I had blundered badly by leaving my laptop and case behind in the room. When I called to inquire the cleaning staff had found it and it was waiting for me at reception. The honesty and integrity of this hotel and staff has made me a huge fan. They are outstanding!

Worst possible service

Had the worst experience of my life..firstly was goven the wrong room ..standard instead of luxury..after sorting that out the service was awful..u had to request every thing like wet wipes aftwr they serve you with ribs and you are told they dont have they dnt even compensate..the manager was terrible by the name of Obed kept on giving more explanation instead of solutions..i will never book here ever...worst service ever

Staff friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable. Rooms are not attached to main area of hotel. Rooms are a driving distance from the main hotel reception, breakfast area. Inter leading door to another guest room. No privacy. No undercover parking.

Our stay was excellent, enjoyed the hotel though the main Pool was not working, but we had a great stay and is perfectly located.

Comfortable, well catered with friendly staff. Good place for our overnight stay.

The hotel had more of a holiday resort vibe than just a Hotel. Had an amazing stay.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere around the pool. The kids could swim and we could sit and sip our cocktails.

Nice hotel, rooms are very old and tired. They did upgrade me to one of their newly refurbished rooms which was very nice! The next morning none of the rooms lights would work and i had to do everything in the dark. Overall a nice stay but hotel needs attention!

This was by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The basin was blocked, the room telephone wasn't working, inter leading doors very badly constructed so much noise from adjacent rooms, Wi-Fi does not work, the taps make a whistling noise the entire night, reception does not answer calls. All the above were reported several time but nothing was done about it.

This Hotel is definitely not one that I will recommend to others. We struggled for 3 days to be placed in a proper room. We sat at the pool for 2 hours and nobody came to serve us.

Terrible!!! Noisy, pool parties. When we requested the music be turned down, we were told by the GM we are being unreasonable. The next morning at breakfast she approached our table and repeated that we, as paying guests, we unreasonable to want peace and quite in a resort that advertises itsself as a quite hotel nestled at the foot of the Maglies mountains. Breakfast overful, no seats available. The only person deserving of her position is Desire, who did her best to help where she could. Electric connection on hairdrier dangerous, toilet leaks, hot and cold water taps wrong way around! No Mariott - this place doesn’t deserve your name on it!!! So much potential, with the wrong mangement.

worst stay ever!!

If only there was an option for 0 stars!! I got food poisoning from the restaurant, there are different awful rooms for the same price as the nicer ones, the aircon may as well be a heater!! Management tries to deny that we got food poisoning from the hotel, even though we ate there every day for 5 days!! the phone in the room didnt work so we couldnt call reception, room service or house keeping. For a place that has hospitality training on site the food is litterally horrendous!! The toilet in our room was leaking during our whole stay. If i was to recommend a better hotel in the area i would say the formula 1 by the highway!! The lighting in the gardens were mostly out, the so called stables have no hourses as advertised, just a rubbish fantasy story!! Oh yes and the very first day i arrived i ordered the chedamelt steak from the restaurant, with a few extra ingredients i didnt ask for, not 1 but 2 hairs on my steak, i was so disgusted i lost my appetite!! It came to a point where i was more comfortable getting macdonalds, and i did!! Get your affairs together Marriott Hotel!! If it was up to me you would have lost a star or 2 on your rating!!

Very good hotel generally with good food

Stay was amazing with very loving and caring staff;they are well trained.the ONLY disappointing fact is the internet and network coverage in the room(306) very very poor. Even the TV signal was disappointing.please please fix connectivity coverage ,internet is the part of life of monitoring our home and business in our absence. I felt like back in the days when letters and telephone lines are only mode of communication very isolating .

Had a pleasent stay, just staff at the reception were not welcoming.

I expected so much more. Our family were in a suite and a room and neither met with our expectations and both could have done with an overhaul. The furnishings in the suite were definitely not up to scratch. However, the room and linen were very clean. The service was not good and the food was the very worst that I have had anywhere and not at all worth what we were charged. Altogether it was a very disappointing few days.

The whole setup shows signs of neglect . Bedside table missing drawer , flushing toilet was an ordeal as it threatened to fall apart . WiFi not available in room (261) . A wonderful potential and environment is wasted by poor management .

Potential to be much better

The surrounding area is amazing. Breakfast is fantastic and the pool area is treat (large pool with smaller heated pool) surrounded by trees and awnings. When I booked, the booking clearly indicated that breakfast was included, but upon checking in I was informed that this would be an additional charge. The putt-putt course needs urgent restoration and should be cleaned once in a while (the damaged and dirty course makes it impossible to play). There was no TV remote in our room and it took five calls to reception and a two-hour wait to get a functioning remote. Our room only had a bath and not a shower and the room was extremely small (we booked a luxury room). The bathroom door lining was broken and the room generally showed signs of wear and tear and could be a lot cleaner. The dinner buffet is decent but not cheap.

Not value for money, staff have no listening skills.on arrival we got givenour roomkeys only to findout when we went to the room that it had not yet been cleaned, after the previous guest have checked out. Foundthedoor opened, was told ohthey wereunder the impression the room was ready. the quality of the food was extremely disappointing considering the price being charged, especially the buffet breakfast and dinner. R250 for dinner d all serviced is dry chicken and a bad excuse of beef curry please. No information provided on check in as to facilities of the place. The lighting outside the rooms(we were inroom110) did not work ask for them to have alok at it as it was a safety hazard at night when you walk outside. Was told they would get maintenance to look at it the following day 3 days later still nothing was done. In the rooms the toilet door would not close asked for them to sort it out , when we got to the room later they has scraped the door and left the shavings on the floor did not bother to clean afterwards, after that the door still did not close. The condition of the patio table and chairs outside the room was pathetic.

nice hotel with potential to be terrific

The rooms are not properly represented in the booking site; we wanted a family unit for 4 (parent plus kids - 4 & 11), couldn't get anything on website, we end up booking 2 rooms. We get to the hotel and upon further inquiry about inter-leading or proximity of the rooms to keep an eye on the kids; we end up with identical family suites side by side (a 2 bed unit with bunk beds in other room for the kids! lounge and bathroom with separate toilets). At this point we can't cancel the other room (it's all paid for by this time) so we have keys to both!

It was disappointing. Very expensive. Nothing for kids to do. Extremely expensive. When I booked I was told breakfast was included and it was not. Overall a let down. Staff were good and GM was awesome. I was told I would have a fridge in my room, did not. I complained and it never came. So overall it was really disappointing and very expensive.

A superb family hotel

A great family hotel with lots of activities for the kids. Good fun atmosphere, super friendly service and a wonderful all round hotel.

Frendly staff and attention to Kids.

It was a very rainy period, the staff made effort to entertain the kids in this conditions. The warm swimming area also added to swim time, cold weather conditions.

Convenient hotel, nice pools, not very clean

We booked two rooms for a family stay. The good: - Nice spacious family room with two TV's. - Nice pool area. - Chef accommodated my request to make some kids food that was not available on the menu.. The Bad: - Bathrooms in both rooms were not cleaned very well. My bathroom where one would normally keep soap seemed to not have been cleaned for a long time as it was grimy. Toilet not cleaned very well. No cold water in sink and bathtub, hot water tap was not working 100% and need to be forcefully opened and closed, my wife and kid could not open or close it. We used the shower due to no cold water available for bath tub. - The 2nd room bathroom was also not cleaned well, as well as there was a big hole in the ceiling from which insects came out of. - It seemed that most of the staff were on training or brand new and a state of confusion even though they were friendly and trying to assist. ( Ordered a beer and was asked if I want it with ice :) and when I requested a glass I got a normal whiskey glass, which at least made me laugh a tad) - As we were on holiday I did not bother complaining to reception as I did not want to ruin my break as I am 100% sure they were aware of the above mentioned issues with the rooms and I was not in the mood to listen to any excuses. Unfortunately I believe that the bad outweighs the good considerably and whilst we did enjoy certain parts of the stay I would not go back.

Rustenburg stay

A great place to regroup after a long flight, not too far out of Johannesburg but just far enough. The last stop for amenities on the way to Botswana
