The location was good. But the hotel room is a bit old and the bed is too soft.
Not like 5 star hotel
On the side of the hotel where my room was there was a construction site which created noise in the room from 6am through to 10pm. This was minimal and after the second day I dint really notice the the noise so much.
Awesome thank you!
The location is great and easy to hangout!
The hotel was cool, and the room very comfortable. House cleaning was very slow - didn't happen until very late afternoon. Restaurant options were too limited - either very high end or not many options.
The hotel is actually great, but there is a massive construction site in the back and it is very noisy. So make sure that you get the Xintiandi view side.
Very good hotel.
Very nice hotel. Well designed. Highly technological and well located .
Excellent hotel, first rate service all round
Love this Hotel, but Showing Signs of its Age
I've been staying at this hotel for close to a decade now and still keep coming back. I have noticed that the rooms are showing signs of aging and wear which is a bit disappointing. Also, there is massive construction on one side of the hotel and for the last 3 trips they have put me on the construction side. Maybe chosse a "city view" if available when you book.
The staff are great and the happy hour treats and coffee machine rocks. However the room is quite old, and the toilet flush was weak and clogged daily.
Beautiful bathroom and bedroom. The only drawback was there was massive construction outside the bedroom window and the curtains are alway drawn.
Great location and the overall services were excellent! Will stay again.
Breaktfast was excellent. King bed room size was good and gym so were the gym facilities. Overall pleasant stay.
Beautiful hotel! Very convenient location!!
good location happy hour at the hotel is amazing
The shower was really pretty, but one day there was no way to adjust it to be cold, then there was no hot water.
Incredibly disappointing
There was absolutely nothing special about this hotel, which I found extremely disappointing. The room itself was mediocre at best, the view out the window looks down on a massive construction project, the pool was cold and had mold dripping off the walls, the breakfast was underwhelming and the food was as cold as the dining room. Things I had seen such as a free mini bar or hosted happy hour were not true either. All in all, a colossal disappointment. If this is the “concept” that Hyatt had in mind, they should go back to the drawing board. I’ve had better stays in hotels 1/4 of the price.
Amazing hotel with a great location.
Excellent! Well worth staying at! Great location!
Location was excellent. Theres even a excellent restaurant Rong Cuisine next to the hotel. Staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.
1 hour waiting for check-in, front deck staff was not professional and nice, detail of hotel has already been dirty and old.
Swimming pool and gym was closed. The temporary gym is too small
Trendy hotel in great location
Lovely hotel with great breakfast. The free happy hour from 6-7.30pm is the best!
Pool and gym were under maintenance so we had to use another hotel facility. Other than that, the rooms were cool, spacious bathrooms and good brekky buffet!
Premium experience has diminished a bit
Always enjoy coming to this hotel as a break from a long week at the factories. I was a little surprised to see so much construction and limiting of amenities int he room. No razors, toothbrushes, etc...given the cost per night of these rooms. The rooms are also starting to show some signs of wear-and-tear. Overall, still a decent experience, but wonder what's happening there
Firstly no one helped me to bring down luggages from taxi at my arrival. When I informed them of the service inadequacy no apologies was given only reason was they were busy doing other stuff. Then for renovation the swimming pool was closed and I was advised to go another hotel for the facilities and gym was shifted to some hotel rooms. At booking this should be highlighted!!!! Again no apology just they “feel embarrassed” to put me in the situation and responsibility was pushed to Expedia platform. One of the days there was no cleaning done! I waited till late afternoon and again my room was not made up. When I enquired the service central line I was told probably my “ do not disturb” sign is on. I was mad as other hotel would have informed me with a slip of paper slotting into my room. And the button shows no sign of whether it is I or off and I have to go out of room to see it from the outside. Also the hotel room is not carpeted. You can hear some footsteps in other rooms. Furniture also not well maintained and looks old. Worst is the hand held shower head that gives loud noise when it is used. The blanket is not warm enough like other hotels only saving grace is the bed is comfortable. The staff also gave me unclear and wrong directions for my enquiry of nearby places. Overall the young staff are not well trained and not engaging in their service only the old staff handled customers slightly better. I will never ever want to stay here anymore!!!! Five thumbs down.
As all Andaz hotels, the concept is OK, but maintenance of facilities is terrible. The bed mattress is the worst I’ve ever seen. Well located in Xintiandi area where stores and good restaurants are It looks a lot better in photos.
Great Hotel, great location, great staff
really good experience. Check-in has improved even more since the last time we stayed here. cold water, cold towel, a beer, and very pleasant staff
Must stay in Xintiandi
Amazing service! Everything in the minibar (excluding alcohol) is complimentary and they have a nice happy hour with snacks, beer, and wine!
Great location . The pillows provided are flat and uncomfortable. I requested them to be changed, however, they don't seem to have any good pillows options for me. So my sleep wasn't great during my stay there.
Features are Modern and up to date. Good location.
There is a vision behind interior of the hotel. I love it.
All good nice location hotel clean and staff was very friendly
Great location for shopping and dining in the middle of Xintindi area. The room is nice, but is too hi tech. Problem for our parents in the other room.
excellent location and close to F&B outlets and transportation.
Very pleasant and comfortable stay. I went swimming and the hotel pool was still quite cold despite being heated.
It's proximity to Xiantiandi where there are choices of good restaurant.is a plus Also, lots of shopping in the area and very close to Shanghai subway
Nice hotel view
The receptionist is very helpful and nice. The hotel is close to underground and many restaurants around.
Happy stay here
The hotel is in a good location, easy to go to central places. Service is good
Great business stay
Fabulous stay, lovely staff, really comfortable and great provision of amenities. Was even presented with a departure gift on check out!
Great location, great staff, great room
Beautiful, unique room Wonderful bathroom Very helpful staff No issues with communication in English at all Great location just across the street from the Xiantandi central area
Amazing Boutique Hotel
Great seafood buffet, well worth the value. The breakfast is good but over priced for sure. The shower and bidet / washroom is amazing, as are the views and bed. The condition is a little worn depending on the room as I've been here a few times before. But man, the location is amazing, walking distance to Xintiandi and great food nearby. Can't do much better than this to be honest. What was stupid was that the staff let someone into my room without my permission, and nothing was done about it to compensate me for it because I damn well certainly should have been.
Older Andaz Hotel
Lobby lounge was not as good as other Andaz like in Singapore Andaz at Duo. Coffee machine at check in lounge was also not working. Good location and deserves better facilities in the hotel.
Boutique hotel. Nice. No carpet in room. Great.
Ok
Ok. Cleanliness of the toilet closet is not good. Still a bad smell.
Very nice hotel with convenient locations. The check-in counters are a bit chaotic and separated into two islands so there is no designated queue to line up while guests were wandering around it. The iPad room control is a nice feature. Wish there is a handrail to hold on to in the shower.
Excellent hotel in great area of Shanghai
Perfect place and location for a trip to shanghai. Bikes tours food tours and a whole bunch more right on the door step of this great total.
Amazing hotel!
Love this hotel. Everything is great! I want to say that John at the Concierge was fantastic! He is super! No complaints. Great hotel!
Of course you should stay here, it's Andaz
Typical Andaz Awesomeness! In a fun area, not too far from The Bund. The property, decor, attention to detail and amenities are exactly what make the Andaz brand such a treat to stay at. Skip the lobby bar and Xuan, overpriced as expected. Room service is surprisingly affordable compared to the lobby bar & Xuan
nice location
The hotel is in Xintiandi. Shanghai has many centers. None is better than XTD in my opinion. Andaz is right in it. The hotel gives a luxurious feel in a great neighborhood. Bed, and everything else are very comfortable. The staff are helpful.
And as Xintaindi for one night
A wonderful hotel, located in the heart of Xintiandi. Room was wonderful. An amazing view. Staff very attentive. Breakfast very tasty with a wide selection to choose.
Nice hotel in city center
Good location everything was walking distance in shanghai center. Good evening lounge access and perks, service and concierge was a little dissapointing
Highly recommend
Amazing place for fun. I’ll come back for sure.
quick check in and check out
over priced, should go for 1000 rmb max with breakfast, not 1500 and without breakfast, and i hate when you can't open a window, rooms are highly automated, liked the bathroom, very fashionable, but not luxurious
Modern hotel in Xintiandi
Check-in was perfect. Tea was served. Action was quick. Staff was very professional. He handled my check-in quickly and, at the same time, managed the queue behind my professionally. The room was clean and well maintained. AC was quick and strong, and water from shower was hot enough, essential for staying in SH during winter. Every electronic things in room can be controlled via the Apps on an iPad, and the Apps was very responsive. Free soft drinks and snacks in room, and many more form the lobby. Evening canapé time was OK, small selection of food, some wine and beer, good pre-dinner drinks. Considering it is an Andaz and its location, I found the rate for such room in a Saturday night very reasonable. Recommended.
Amazing hotel~ Great location
This was my first time staying at the Andaz Hotel and will be back. The staff was very helpful from the moment I stepped on the property. Very clean and contemporary hotel. Room was awesome with very cool features... Electric drape and sun shades.. open and close by the push of a button. The bathroom had clear acrylic tube and sink with optional color themes! Very nice design and look. Everything was great about this hotel and I will be back.
Great stay at Andaz
The location is awesome as it is in the heart of Xintiandi. Shopping malls, art centers and metros just meters away
Love this Hotel!
I love to stay here! It is such a great experience ! The Staff! the Rooms! And all facilities are superb!
Great business hotel
Srayed for only ine night on a business trip. Great staff, beautiful hotel.
Great hotel! Nice rooms, great area!
Amazing hotel in a great area! one of my favorites in Shanghai!
Nice hotel walking distance to shops and restaurNt
Everything in the hotel is very good one down side have poor wifi
Good
Great location in Xintiandi. Hotel is new. Staff service was alright. Check-out very smooth, but almost too standard...
Close to the hottest spot of Shanghai
Manager wasn't so friendly as a hotel next to Andaz. Besides the unfriendly manager, everything was great including clean rooms to the closeness of restaurants.
ANDAZ Shanghai - just amazing!
Absolutely fantastic! Nothing else to really say except I wish they had an Andaz just like this in every city I travel to.
great staff, great service
Great hotel for business
Modern hotel located in the heart of Xintiandi. Perfect for business stay!
I would highly recommend this Hotel - staff are very accommodating
Irked in Shanghai
A great hotel with great staff. I was however, annoyed to find out on the day I checked out, that the hotel offers free drinks during 'happy hour' in its bar. This was not explained to me at check in. I was however told that mini bar contents are free, but not told that alcoholic mini bar contents are not free. I was offered a room upgrade for 500RMB, including breakfast, but refused it, and instead opted to pay 270RMB for breakfast the following day. Breakfast is not worth paying for. Places like Wagas and Baker and Spice offer great breakfast choices for way less. Staff were otherwise lovely, professional and courteous. Door staff need better English skills. I tried several times to ask them to inform me when a car from Emirates arrived. In the end, I saw the driver wandering around the lobby with an Emirates placard with my name on it. Will stay again, and will make use of 'happy hour'. Irked..!
Hyatt Andaz biz stay in Shanghai
Fab hotel, little bit different. Free happy hour for guests. Nice location and not far from the underground. Buffet breakfast is excellent catering to both Asian and western tastes. Free soft drinks biscuits/snacks from the mini bar and lobby which was a nice surprise in a hotel, usually seen as a way of fleecing guest's. So well done Andaz.
Great Location and Fantanstic facilities Hotel
Really fantastic facilities and great location
Nice hotel in good location
My fifth time at this hotel and it is still as good, close to everything with eating places and shopping places all within minutes and the underground line 2 is just a minute away. soft drinks are provided free plus a complimentary happy hour at the lobby very good for a break of the day before dinner.
The service was excellent in the front desk, restaurants, bar. The staff was friendly, courteous, solicitous, accommodating.
Very smart with neat features hotel
Although more than my usual hotel budget allowance the complimentary extras make a big difference like free soft drinks and complimentary 2hr happy hour each eve.. andaz is centrally located in puxi business and upscale shopping district. There is a great restaurant and bar complex 5 mins walk away. Room had very nice features including a fully automatic toilet that even washes and dries your behind!! Have only seen one of these before but very novel and not as tacky as it might sound!. Staff service was top notch
Wonderful Stay! Will be our go to place for future Shanghai visits :)
Very helpful staff and the food is good
Lackluster Service Ruins this Hotel
Horrible service throughout our 5 night stay. The staff here could use some serious retraining. Very, very rude and unhelpful with few exceptions. Great location, but not worth the frustration and hassle.
fantastic hotel - the best hotel experience ever
Great service, great location (xintiendi), beautiful amenities, happy hour, free non-alcoholic beverages - this was absolutely the best hotel experience for me.
Great location
Bed and pillow was not comfortable but overall the location and facilities like complimentary minibar, happy hour and all day coffee and tea makes it very welcoming.
Excellent, wonderful, fantastic ....
Excellent hotel, excellent breakfast, great sushi restaurant. It feels like home. The rooms are exquisite, the bathrooms are amazing. Highly highly recommended. You will love the lobby ambiance ...
Definitely staying here again
Awesome hotel!
Very good hôtel. Clean, calm and very modern. I will book it next time I go to Shanghai for sure. I definitely recommend it
Business trip
We always stay in this hotel when we visit the city and Hotel and staff were amazing as always!
Andaz Xintiandi is a gold stanard....
after staying at several Andaz hotels before, this one in Xiantiandi met all our expectations both as Andaz and Hyatt hotel; comfort level was outstanding; the aesthetics of rooms, lobby, restaurant did not disappoint us! the famous bathrooms are truly awesome and deserve to be bragged about...complementary sandwiches, pastries, apples, drinks, coffee (great espresso), tea in the lobby was a very welcomed perk. Keep the good work Andaz Xintiandi!
Very hip hotel
Staffs are very friendly and tends to my needs everytime I have asked for their favor.
Delightful westernized hotel
While there were a few issues with the dining at the hotel (food coming late or incorrect during breakfast service) it was a lovely hotel full of modern conveniences and inspired styling. I loved the convenience of the location and EVERYONE on staff was always willing to help and serve in whatever capacity was needed. Upon learning my co-worker and I had issues with our breakfast one morning, the chef, manager, and waitress all found us the next morning and apologized profusely. I put this in the review only to state that if you experience any small issue- they are so willing to help fix the situation and make it better. As an American female traveling on my own, the hotel was extremely safe, secure, and went above and beyond my expectations.
Fantastic location near Xintiandi
The staff were absolutely great. Shout out to Wendy who is a fantastic.
Stylish in an Excellent location
Fast efficient check in, very comfortable room. Adjacent to the pedestrian distraction Xintiandi. Good value for money.
a hotel Hyatt left behind
modern fashion "cool" room, good for a business trip that your company pays for it. bad for a family trip that you pay your own money...hotel staffs are somehow snobbish...no one helps to upload/ unload the luggage at the front door (actually no staff stading there), 2 front desk staffs vs. dozens of checking customers....why not hire more hands? few junior staffs (maybe hotel interns?) standing at the corner chatting but ignoring guests who need help to carry stuff (a concept by Hyatt??!!)... guests' questions are answered with a cold, machine-like manner...kinda cool, but we are not in the Wall Street and I am your hotel guest I hope the questions are beeing answered with smile from a nice hotel staff...after all that's why we called hotel business is about hospitality...huh, maybe it's becasue I am not a white male, businessman travel oversea to Shanghai. I am just a local Chinese in Shanghai and want to figure out what "Andaz, a concept by Hyatt" is...gosh...now I know.
Very well located hotel in Xintiandi
Great location, across the road from a very good range of Asian and European restaurants in the architecturally attractive food quarter. The room , rather a suite, was super spacious with a breathtaking view of Shanghai . Very high tech with gadgets for anything that can open or close - though sometimes unnecessary but fun such as alternative colour selection for basins and bathtub. For such a large hotel, it should have had more than just one restaurant and a larger gym with more equipment. Unique in that it has free sandwiches , pastries and fruit in the morning and unlimited free access to non- alcoholic drinks.
great all around
the xitiandi is in the french concession, which my favorite shanghai neighborhood. the hotel is surrounded by overpriced 'luxury' stores but if you walk a bit you'll find some great neighborhoods to explore. the hotel is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. ipad mini's in every room to control everything from lights to curtains to the tv. only downside is the food is really expensive, i got a ginger ale in the lobby lounge that cost $11usd. otherwise will stay there whenever i can.
Hotel Temperature
I was there in 1st week of February for one night. Looks nice and very modern hotel but coldest hotel ever. Lobby is freezing cold. Room, 26 degrees is maximum but actual room temperature was much lower, no hot water shower only warm water but not enough to make me warm.
This hotel has it all
I have only stayed at about ten 5-star hotels before, but I wanted to do something special for New Year's Eve. Upon arrival, the service was impeccable. They asked me if I would like a late check-out the next morning because of the holiday. The room has the 'wow' factor with a giant bathroom and very large windows and an overall very modern feel. The free coffee downstairs includes a cappuccino machine that makes the wonderful cappuccinos. When going out the back door, the famous XinTianDi area is right across the street. This is the best hotel I have stayed at.
Very nice
Perfect service and location!
Great experience at Andaz
Really nice hotel in great location near xiantiandi. Friendly and well trained staff. Nice that they offer some basic extras for free - didn't feel nickel and dimed to death unlike most similar chains.
All around great experience.
I enjoy staying here when I travel to Shanghai. It's a very clean and modern hotel. The staff is friendly and speaks English very well.
Love this hotel and will stay here again!
I visit Shanghai at least twice each year for business. This was my first stay at the Andaz Shanghai but it won't be my last. This was probably the finest hotel I have ever stayed in for this type of room rate. The rooms are immaculate and the lighting is fun. The shower was incredible with the rain shower head and the impressive granite walls. The Toto Washlet toilets was a pleasant luxury. I would say this bathroom was as nice as any in any hotel at any price that I have ever stayed. The bed was comfortable, the closet roomy and the complimentary sodas in the mini fridge were a nice touch. I always appreciate when the wifi is complimentary! The location is fantastic with Xintiandi directly across the street and most other Shanghai attractions a short taxi ride away. I have stayed on the Bund many times and while those hotels have a great view, the location is otherwise not so great. The Andaz location is preferrable to me and I will choose this hotel on my next trip for sure. The only thing about this stay that doesn't get 5 stars was breakfast. There are no eggs in the buffet and the egg/omelette station moves too slow. But, the fresh squeezed orange juice is the best I have had in China.
hotels.com doesn't solve booking problem
Neighborhood great. Hotel staff attentive, friendly and efficient. Hotels.com is unreachable by their 800# outside of the U,S. to problem_solve and their website wanted me to "state the nature of your problem" from a short and incomplete list. Both expensive and disappointing. A one out of five rating points.
ANDAZ XINTIANDI, SHANGHAI, BY HYATT | Hotel in Shanghai | Travala.com
It is in the middle of city and easy to go anywhere. Just the external wall looks a bit old.
