The whole experience was awesome.The service from the staff was outstanding.

Rustic on the outside, modern on the inside and very comfortable. Right off 25, walkable to town, so a great location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Our host was very personable and helpful. The suite was clean and well equipped. We had a nice enjoyable stay.

The hospitality was unmatched. Recommend if you’re looking fir a pmace to stay in a small waterside town.

Nice place. Shame they can't read the booking information. Booked clearly for 3 people and asked for 2 beds. Got 1 bed and they were surprised there was 3 of us. Supposedly the bed there was a king size, but has to be the smallest king bed of all time. My queen size bed is bigger. Travel to Coromandel very frequently, thought I'd try staying the night as an optio. For the future, but this experience just reinforced the fact that its better just to drive back each trip.

Host was very welcoming, thankyou. Setting of accommodation was amazing, short walk to collect essentials, surroundings beautiful.

Basic, but clean and comfortable. Nice view of the lake from window. Good shower! About 8 mins walk to shopping area.

Really enjoyed the spacious and comfortable rooms. The pool and hot tub were a pleasant surprise after cycling for 60km

Loved this motel. It was clean, friendly staff and very helpful. We had an ocean view out our front window and a jungle behind us. I felt like we were in a tree house.

Overall a nice stay, not much to do in the area so we wanted to unwind and relax. No ACs in the rooms so the room was hot, the wifi was useless but that's not why we were there. Overall, I think the place was quite expensive for what you got in comparison to the other 10 hotels we stayed in on our long travel journey.

We loved our stay at Anchor Lodge Motel, rooms very clean and comfortable, Sue couldn't have been a better nicer host. Absolutely recommend a stay here.

Idyllic spot with easy parking and cute rooms

I had a good time at the Anchor Lodge. Really nice beds and lots of kitchen amenities. The one thing I didn’t enjoy was the shower: it was just a shower head in the corner of the bathroom - no raised platform, so the bathroom floor was constantly wet. Other than that, this place is a great stay for Coromandel. It’s located right next to great restaurants and activities.

Easily accessible to the town. Beautiful walking paths. Friendly townspeople. Gorgeous weather and nice pool area.

Room was spotless on arrival, heater was on, room was nice and warm Staff very friendly Walking distance to everything, good central destination, loved coromandel town Little disappointed on daily service, only towels changed, no vacumn or cleaning, but not a big deal Would definitely recommend

Great value for money

Was an awesome stay this is the second time we've stayed there the pool is small but heated which is nice and there's a hot tub as well. Sorry really into town for meals and super easy to access activities.

Went with my family, and had a very enjoyable stay, albeit cut a bit short due to the inclement weather ! Excellent location and service, would certainly be my preferred accommodation when i visit this beautiful and historic town again ! On the downside, maybe a breakfast option at the lodge would be good to have, but we did note a number of cafes close by that provides excellent dining options !

No issue, accommodation was good. Only slight complaint was that no milk was supplied and did not know this until all the shops were closed to purchase some.

Pleasant surprise to arrive and see an outdoor heated swimming pool and spa pool available to use. Clean and fit for purpose room. Large shower!

There was no air conditioning in the room even though the property is advertised as having them. The room was sweltering hot especially in the evenings and the little electric fans dont help cool down the room because of the high ceilings. The communal kitchen is in desperate need to an update. It looked grubby and weathered down. I think that common basic ingredients could have been provided such as salt, pepper and milk (espcially sice they provide tea and hot choc powder but no milk). I did like that the room was tidy and clean. The property was walking access to the centre of town

Value for money.

Room was amazing, definitely value for money. Loved the stay and will definitely stay there again when in the Coromandel. Only 2 notes would be the sliding door needing a bit of attention and the windows above the bed needing blinds instead of curtains to block out the morning sun.

Good stay in a clean room. A bit small but all in enough. Always stay there in Coromandel.

The website didn’t have photos of the room we were given. Shared toilets and bathrooms but showers did not have lockable doors just shower curtain. Room that we stayed in were very small and bearly fitted a suitcase on the floor with room to walk around. Room was very hot so found it very hard to sleep even with the window open. Would not stay here again.

Myself and my little family loved our stay here. Definitely will be coming back in summer. We were well looked after from the beginning to end of our stay. Definitely recommend for a quiet get away.

Hotel staff is very helpful. Nice room ,special backyard and barbecue area .

One cockroach found in the living room and ants in queue in kitchen area. Mostly I don’t like the door beside the bed which connects to another unit that is not clearly stated on ADs.

We had a pleasant stay very relaxed first time in Coromandel town. Had some average weather but we still got out and about had a good look around the area.

Lovely place, walking distance to town, grocery shop and takeaways. Lovely staff, mountain bikes for free. Definitely would stay again.

Cosy room with a nice sized balcony and comfy bed!

The lodge offers simple and adequate accommodation with excellent support from the management. Walks from the lodge are great.

Good location, comfortable surroundings. Room had no iron, or kitchen sink, requiring use of a plastic tub and water from bathroom. Intertenancy walls and door not stopping noise from other rooms.

Great location, friendly host, very comfortable bed. We only stayed for one night but it suited us perfectly.

The location in Coromandel Town and the amenities such as the in-room spa, mountain bikes, DVD library, and free parking on site were fantastic and so convenient. It may have been our best accommodation in New Zealand! Unfortunately, in one night, we did have 2 cockroach encounters in our bathroom and room. The property did provide Raid for this.

Highly recommended, enjoyed our time here. Great to have a BBQ set up outside our room.

Stayed one night in January in backpacker dorm. Very new spotlessly clean bathroom. Big spacious kitchen with all the utensils you need Plus free tea and coffee. Big fridges plenty of room. Dorm beds are sturdy wooden ones built in. Bedding provided. Spa was lovely treat. Quieter spot of town but still walking distance. Lovely view of hills from deck. Staff phenomenal. So smiley and helpful. They are running a fabulous facility :)

A good overnight stay

Good location: out of centre of town but close to it. Very clean and comfortable, but rather cramped if travelling with 2 suitcases. Good parking close to cabin. A hob would enhance the cooking options.

Beautiful surroundings and great service; short walk into town. A little short on hot water but not a big issue.

Friendliest staff ever and immaculate accom. Our room had three levels, great heating, spa and every thing was perfect!! Will definitely stay again if in the area. Walking distance to restaurants and shops

Property was central and easily accessed. The re was plenty if parking as well.

Nice place with good facilities. Well located close to the centre of Coromandel. My only grizzle is that the wifi was painfully slow.

Well appointed motel units some of which some are elevated providing views and set amongst bush. A short walk to the town's shops. We had a pleasant stay with the only disappointment being the poor quality wifi.

Lovely place to stay at and within walking distance to town

The property was very unique and our room was really big and clean. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus. We also were able to BBQ right outside our room and enjoy the scenery as we ate.

I enjoyed the pool and the kauri walk. It is well located close to the shops and restaurants, yet still quiet.

Well appointed facilities and very close to town

We took a chance on this place and we came away with our expectations exceeded. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The facilities and what is available (like bike rental and hot tub) is great. Only a short 200m walk into the centre of the small town. We had a fantastic dinner at one of the local restaurants. Actually, it was the best meal of the whole trip.

Good place to stay

Great little place to stay! We stayed in a studio, it wasn't too big but it was only my wife and I so we didn't need a whole lot of room. Great service and accommodations!

Awesome stay

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, and our suite was awesome as a couple as it was secluded and private. Beautiful set up with a big bathroom and a nice outdoor pool.

Really good! Great location for exploring the peninsula. Excellent room - spacious, quiet and clean with good amenities.

The quaint cottages in a jungle setting were well-equipped and very cozy. Coromandel is full of gems.

Great location on the Coromandel Peninsula

This was a great spot to stop on our 4 day journey around the peninsula. Very well cared for inside and out. Spend some time in the afternoon at the Driving Creek Railway, where potter Barry Brickell spent decades hand-building a narrow gauge (15 inches) railway up the jungle-like mountain, around tortuous curves and up steep grades, through tunnels and over spectacular viaducts, in order to access the terra-cotta clay of which the mountain is made. The 360 degree view from the top, the Eyefull Tower, is stunning - the whole experience unique and exciting!

What a fantastic piece of paradise! very friendly staff, clean room, great gardens and very peaceful. Perfect for couples & Families.

Convenient and clean

This is a nice motel and suitable as a base for exploring the area. There is a good hike into the bush starting right outside the door and a short drive gets you to a kauri forest reserve. It takes only 5 minutes to walk into town, which has some fine restaurants and shops. The hotel is well maintained but the free Wifi was very unreliable and often one could simply not get on.

Reasonable motel

This is a reasonably good motel, very clean and tidy and the staff were friendly. My only criticism is that we were in one half of a double unit, with a locked interconnecting door. The door was not soundproofed so we could hear almost every word spoken on the other side. Fortunately, the occupants were speaking another language.
