The air conditioning was broken and the black light shined right on the bed all night. Hair in bathtub. Not a great stay at all.
Well in terms of a 2star inn, not much else to expect on top of what you get. The room was great - spacious, clean, great beds, pillows, everything was perfect. The receptionist was extremely nice and friendly. Downsides- no breakfast, no vault in the room, coffee machine made terrible coffee, no paid laundry services, and on some occasions they did not had enough clean towels to provide.
While this hotel did go through some renovations and updates, it's still very old with paper-thin walls and dark lighting. The door to my room didn't close fully, did not have a adequate locks, and the walls were paper thin, so I could hear everything the room adjacent to mine was saying and doing. Would not recommend. Will never stay here again.
Very minimal for the money. Don’t expect too much. Recent renovated rooms cheaply done.
The room was beautiful. The staff was very nice.
Great location, very close to downtown Disney and Disneyland. Easy to get to. Rooms are basic, great for a one night stay.
No handicapped accommodation.
They didn't have a first floor room for us and my dad is disabled. We had to climb steps and the last one was very high. When booking it's better to call them and request what you need instead of rolling the dice like we did.
Priced well
The room was great, clean for the most part ( a hair or two in shower) . The bed was comfy, look forward to seeing the updates .
Nice place
Was a nice simple stay. Nothing spectacular but good overall. 15 min walk to disneyland
The room was nice, modern and clean. However, the showers had no shelves to hold anything so razor, shampoo, conditioner and soap had to be left on the ground. The sink had no room to put anything on. The beds were comfortable and a huge wall in closet but we didn't stay long enough to use it. The parking was HORRENDOUS! There are about 20 (and that may be being gracious) spots and the property sits on a busy intersection so you can't park on the street. One night there was no parking so the receptionist graciously moved her car so we could park. Everyone that worked there was super nice and helpful. There is no laundry so we did need to go to the laundromat. The best part about the location is its proximity to Disneyland. We drove and were there within 5 minutes each day.
The stay at the hotel I have no complaints. The only issue I had was with Hotels.com. This wasn’t a very customer friendly experience.
Parking is limited and difficult. But the rooms are very clean and comfortable.
The recent renovation has made this a wonderful budget friendly place to stay
Perfect stay
Amazing stay. Our room was clean and very well decorated.
The room was worth the cost. Very pleasent place.
Súper agradable y cómodo
Its perfect the bus Station is súper near to go a Disneyland
The rooms were spacious and clean, the lobby was open and welcoming. The staff were generous and easy to talk to. It was a smooth check in and out process. You can see the fireworks right from your room window!
Close to Disneyland and price only good points!
I stayed here because of the Half Marathon going on the following day. It was ok but rundown and smells. It was walking distance to Disneyland was the plus but definitely wouldn't stay more than one night. For the price I guess you ger what tou pay for!
Was charged twice for parking, spoke to staff when checking out who said charge would drop, never did. When we turned on the AC unit a huge cloud of dust was blown in our faces No shelves in shower to place soaps and toiletries for use.
This is a great stay if you are looking to save some money at Disney but with a clean and modern alternative. Not sure where the bad reviews are from- this is an inn not a hotel and doesn't have the amenities which is why the price is lower. The staff were very friendly and 15 minute walk to shuttle.
Traffic in front was heavy most of the time due to its location. My TV died on the last day. other than that, nice place. It would be nice if they had some snack/drinks for sale in the lobby.
Poorly redone hotel
The best way I can describe this place was "putting lipstick on a pig." So they definitely are doing renovations and things look great for taking photos, BUT the actual product is cheap and shotty. We were first concerned when we went to our room on the second floor and the outdoor walkway on the second floor felt like it was leaning and not level. All the tile along the edge was also missing. Inside, the sink didn't drain properpy because the stopper attachment was the wrong size and had to be completely unscrewed in order for the water to go down. The shower door also wouldn't stay closed because, again, it appeared to not be level and kept rolling open. I had to call the front desk to get new linens because when i turned my bed down there was fresh lipstick on the mattress cover, which was exposed because they use flat sheets instead of fitted sheets on the actual mattress. The girl from the front desk brought me new sheets but she handed them to me to make the bed myself. There appeared to be no actual housekeeping staff. The front desk attendants were friendly, but the hotel overall seemed like someone's first flip. Location was in good proximity to Disneyland and the parking was cheap ($7/day) but I don't think we'd stay there again.
It's a really good stay near Disneyland. I ubered from the hotel to Disney and it was really convenient. Everything is super clean and the staff is really helpful.
Rooms are remodeled and decor looks nice. However unlike my friends room next to us, we had no blankets on the bed. Their room was a double bed room and mine was a 2 queen. They had a mini floor size fridge/freezer and microwave with coffee maker. We had no coffee maker at all, and a wine cooler for a fridge no freezer. Our telephone was pulled out of the wall, dust under both beds, low water pressure shower. Toilet only fully flushes after you flush it the second time. Rust on the bottom of shower drain. The unsafe part was the outside hallway path is smooth tile and it was raining during our stay si when you walk out I nearly slipped 2 times you have to tip toe to get to door to make sure you don't fully slip. Wet floor sign was put after the fact and only saw 2 of them placed on the walkways. Our room faced a leaky sewer drain. Pity because it is a good location to see the Disney fireworks, but the maingate in there name was not near the maingate it would be a 15 min walk so you have to call lyft/uber and no Disney bus to park either.
I really want to like this place. You can tell someone put their heart and soul into this place. The staff was out of this world kind! Upon walking into the room it looked and smelled clean. Under the bed was so dusty. We pulled the trundle out on the bunk bed incase our little one fell out of bed and there was mouse poop on the bed. The day we were checking out I noticed that the person staying before us must have been on their period because there was blood on the front of the toilet. The faucet in the sink was leaking and the walls were starting to rot because of it and the faucet handles kept falling off. All these things can be fixed to where the next person has a pleasant stay. The perks, the bunk beds for kids were a nice touch. Our king bed was so comfortable, and we sat and watched fireworks from the front window! And again the staff is absolutely top notch!
Cheap for the price
It was great other than the lack of ice machines or vending machines but had a great stay I’d come back , also maybe a blow dryer would be nice to have as well!
Jan 2025
Was open late for check in. Didn't have an elevator and we were put on the second floor so getting our stuff in and out of the room was difficult. No one was at the desk in the morning for checkout. Forgot one of my earbuds in the room, and called multiple times but noone answered.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, but the beds were quite hard and the bathrooms were not even close to ADA compliant/wheelchair accessible. Couldn’t even get into the bathroom, the door was too narrow.
There is no question that traffic is noisy and the buildings are old, but the staff were all super friendly and helpful, the room was clean and fully functional, it was incredibly conveniently located near Disneyland, and the price was very reasonable given its proximity to Disneyland. We would definitely stay there again!
Good location
My sink and showers were the worst part about the stay. Sink barley drains after use. Had to wait ten minutes for next person to brush teeth. Shower- temp was very hard to control. Took forever to warm up enough to shower. With that being said my friends stayed in 104 and didn’t have any of these issues.
Everything good, it would be 5 stars for the price except there was a humidity stain in the bathroom ceiling. Everything else was ok, clean room.
I want to say first off the staff here are AMAZING! It appeared ask though they were ding renovations, but had stopped. What they have done looks good, but the some concerns. Cons: -The railing to on the upper floors had exposed crumbling concrete. - Right outside our room there was a leak and in the morning it was slippery. -There were a few alcoves that were filled with trash and old furniture. -The bathroom shower door was installed wrong which made it so you got soak turning the water on and the door would not stay shut. -When we first arrived there was a joint on the railing by our room, I understand it is legal in California, but it should not be left where kids could get it. Our room also smelled liked marijuana. -The ice machine broken, but the staff had ice in the office they had bagged up and you could get as many bags as you wanted. -Our bathroom was not cleaned very thoroughly we went to the store and bought cleaning supplies. -$7 per day for parking. Pros: -The hotel is walking distance to Disneyland. -The finishes are nice. -You can see the fireworks from Disneyland from the property. -Closets are bigger than normal -The refrigerator was bigger that a typical hotel fridge. -There was a microwave Overall not terrible, but definitely not
The staff was super friendly and responsive. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily. The location is right around the corner from the park! Perfect value for our 4-night stay!
Note clean and the room wasn’t in good condition
The hotel itself was nice and had a cute aesthetic. It’s just hard to go anywhere unless you’re going to Disneyland, which I was not.
Super nice staff, easy check in and check out, comfy rooms. Great stay!
We wanted to stay a night before our Disneyland trip, which for location was on point! Literally a block before you get to turn into the parking structure so that was amazing. The hotel was under construction which was unknown at the time of booking with Expedia - somewhat need to know information since there were things unfinished. We did find hair on the corners of the bathroom and on bath towels which seemed unclean but everything else in the room was newer and well kept. We would stay again for the night but hoping it will be under better circumstances.
Cute hotel. Staff was very friendly.
Super cute stay! We loved the remodel and aesthetics of it! Clean & pretty.
I loved it!
Super nice place
Great room for a great price
Motel has had a recent remodel and the rooms are clean and very well refreshed. The positives room was a great price for a refreshed hotel that was easy to access from Hwy 5, easy check in, friendly staff, easy parking. You are so close to Disney you can see the fireworks from the parking lot. The ART bus stop is there to save some steps from walking to Disney BUT the walk is not that far at all. The negative there was no towel rack back the sink so despite the cute remodel there was no place to hang a handtowel which was annoying but an easy fix. Remove the plant on a shelf decor and put a towel rack in. The other not fixable is the walls are paper thin. I could hear every single word our neighbors were saying (thankfully I travel with earplugs). Great hotel for going to Disney clean, close and despite the thin walls we crashed each night after a day full of Disney.
A happy return
As always we were so happy with our stay. The Anaheim Maingate Inn is who our family relies on for cleanliness, friendliness and affordability. Thank you, see you again in three months.
Great place to stay if you’re visiting Disney.
View of fireworks
Bus stop right there, cute updated rooms, comfortable space, can see the fireworks from Disneyland from door to our room. Overall great stay and experience.
Great customer service
Nice but checked us in late
When we arrived twenty minutes after check in time room was still not ready and was still being cleaned had to wait in my car until cleaning lady finished and when we got in our room it was still dirty had a bar of soap and hair stuck to the shower.
The remodel they did is beautiful. The staff was very sweet and efficient. There’s very limited parking and no elevator, which is fine except if you’re on the end of the building then you’ve got a track. It’s very noisy, the road is busy and you’re right on it. My main complaint is there was ZERO hot water! Even after letting it run for 20 minutes, worst shower ever. Also the room was really small, I wouldn’t put more than 2 people in there.
This property had just been renovated and the rooms were very nice however the exterior needed some more TLC. Inside Could use better cleaning of areas around the walls as some had stains, although the bathroom and bedding was clean. Property was in a main road and rooms were motel style so there was no internal hallway, which made us feel a bit unsafe at times. Great location being close to Disneyland, with a 25 minute easy walk to downtown Disney.
Staff were very kind and helpful. Let us park for free after check out while we went into Disney.
Great stay 20 min walk to Disney
This hotel was sooo cute!!! We loved it! Literly around the corner to Disneyland. The staff was wonderful! Great customer services! Thank you!!!
We ended up on the 3rd floor and the stair way was steep and the 3rd floor had a noticeable slant which my wife noticed constantly. The hitel was also undergoing construction so we did not hot water for a day. Overall this hotel.could be amazing but dealing with construction ruined part of our trip.
Was very clean rooms and convenient to walk to Disney but they are in the process of remodeling it appears and that looks a bit rough outside the rooms
You can tell they are trying to have a great hotel but they were definitely lacking. Very noisy, had to drag bags up 3 flights of stairs, sink filled with water and wouldn’t drain and then started dripping from the pipes.
I left belongings in the room and when I went to pick them up they were lost.
Close to Disneyland. Clean place. Nice front desk staff.
Cheap place to stay next to Disney. Staff is kind and helpful, but rooms are barely soundproof.
The rooms themselves are clean and serve their purpose for somewhere to stay whilst visiting Disney. It’s about a 30 min walk to the parks. Beds are very hard. The rooms offer little protection from the very noisy road outside. One day our room was not made up by housekeeping and they didn’t leave coffee on the other morning so not the best service.
Loved it here. Plan on coming back
Clean and close to Disney
Good value for the cost. It doesn’t seem like much from the outside, but the rooms were comfortable and clean. Both nights sleep were very quiet and we heard minimal neighbor noise and street noise. It was a 20 minute walk to the downtown Disney district.
The locations was grate. But the frist room we got was under construction the door frame was half painted. The next room the pillow cases had pai t on them. When we checked out before our time the house cleaning was right outside our door like waiting it felt very rushed. I believe the frint desk was recognizing us.
Its decent for a short stay
Live the fact that it is so close to Disney and also Disney parking lot.
Stay in Anaheim
Clean rooms, comfy beds. Great location.
20 mins or less to Disney on foot
Great location for Disneyland and we could easily walk in in under 20 minutes. Rooms were well decorated and nice, only downside was the dust from the tiling that was going on outside was in our room and the floors were constanly dusty meaning we couldn't walk around in our room without kicking up dust everywhere. BUT we spent so little time in the room it barely mattered, it was all about the ease of travel for Disney.
Love this inn. They were amazing. Worked well with us. Will stay again!
The main gate inn has fantastic AC. The location was very convenient for us as it was an easy drive to disneyland. Our hotel was very clean and maintenance was upkept very well. The only issue we had was parking. Not very much room for parking. If youre unlucky, it might require a tight squeeze.
Great for what we needed! A couple nights while we enjoyed Disney!
Great value
The property is close to the Disney parking entrance. It was a great value for the money. It was clean and comfortable. Service was great. The property is older but maintained. Highly recommend.
This is a great location to get to Disneyland. About a 22 min walk. Security line into Disney from this side has the shortest lines. Low rating is for cleanliness. The bathroom smells bad. The shower doesn’t drain and is dirty. Staff was super nice at check in and had extra shampoo/conditioner. Probably would not stay here again though.
4 night stay
The room was fine, beds comfortable, but the room could use a few additions: a second mirror (preferably full length); a box of Kleenex; soap dish for the sink (soap provided got mushy); a ledge in the shower to hold shampoo, conditioner and soap—nowhere to place items except on the floor of the shower); more than 1 roll of toilet paper at a time.
The property is nicely remodeled, very in a walkable distance to disneyland The only think we didnt like ,is that a depositof $100, needs to be made. Refundable but still inconvinient
Smelled really bad
Disneyland overnight stay
Overall,, it’s a cute facility. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The only negative was there was a loud noise coming from the air conditioner unit that would not stop throughout the night.
Very cute, they did a great job with the remodel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Walkable to DD security entrance, which is great since it's not very busy going in that way compared to the front. Our complaints about the room itself was that there were no washcloths left, which we didn't discover until after midnight when we got back from the parks and tried to shower, so just had to deal since it was so late. The shower did not drain well at all, like you were standing in a pool of water pretty quickly. By the 3rd person showering, it was deep, and kinda gross. The bathroom area floor could've been swept/vacuumed a little better, hair from others was left there. As others mentioned, the walls are kinda thin, but it wasn't too awful for us as we got in late, slept and left. Those were all pretty minor things, and we only stayed the 1 night, were barely in the room. It was fine for that, but I would probably not want to stay any longer. I wanted to like it more, especially at the rate and location.
This hotel has a very friendly staff and the room was clean. On the downside, this was the hardest bed I've ever slept on, there weren't enough outlets in the room and no ironing board available.
Good
I love it!
I loved our recent stay at Anaheim Maingate Inn. It was nearby the Disney Parks' main entrance. It's walkable I supposed, but we took an Uber during our day in both parks (10 min average distance by car from the hotel). The receptionist was very nice, accomodating, friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and free of any smell. It is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bed's were comfortable and the A/C works well. The concerns that I have however, is that the walls are too thin. The occupants beside us were talking too loud and you can literally hear loud and clear what they're talking about. There's not that many Electric plugs / outlets in our room too. There wasn't any table and chair to eat a your meal comfortably. Also, you have to request a hairdryer at the lobby upon check in because they are not made available in all rooms I guess. Other than these cons, I find the hotel very nice, upgraded and the area is nice, quiet and located close to a lot of stores.
The beds were firm and lots of noise especially people coming and going with luggage on the tile walkway made lots of clinking over each tile. Very close to Disney, easy walk seemed safe area just follow the signs to Disney. Nice check in lady held our luggage till check in time. Cleaning ladies were very nice and had the rooms very clean
Pretty good place to stay on a budget
If you just need a place to rest your head after a day doing touristy things, this will do nicely. It doesn't have much in the way of amenities (eg: no pool), but my room was spacious - especially the bathroom - and clean. (I'm not sure if my room was an accessible room as that might explain why the bathroom was designed as it was.) Can be a bit noisy and on-site parking is neither free nor abundant. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Disney parking structure where you can take the Disney tram the rest of the way to Downtown Disney and the parks. There are no restaurants nearby unless you walk to Downtown Disney, though there is a convenience store a short walk away.
It was so close to Disneyland within walking distance perfect!
Good
Stayed on the third floor. Very private, renovated. Very spacious and only a 20 min walk to the parks. Downside was that the front desk didn’t answer the phone. I lost my wallet within property area and wanted to leave a number for someone in case it was turned in. No one answered
It was so cute and comfortable I’d absolutely stay again!
The Inn was super conveniently located, very reasonable in cost, clean, I felt safe, and the bed was comfortable.
Fantastic motel, worth way more than they charge!
This gem is wonderful! The rooms are updated, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. $7 a day parking is pretty awesome in an area where most places charge $25 and up. We’ve stayed here a few times and if we return to Anaheim, we most definitely will again.
This was the perfect place to stay the night before our Disney Day! It was so easy to get to Disneyland parking from here. The hotel is currently under renovation, so I'm sure it will be even more clean and beautiful once it is all completed. I loved the modern simple vibe!
Great hotel, nice updates
Bed was pretty hard but there are people who enjoy a more firm bed. Other than that stay was great and walkable to the Mickey and friends tram in less than 10 minutes.
A great, recently renovated motel, within easy walking distance of Disney. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was quiet and clean. Pleasantly surprised having read old reviews which seemed to be quite negative, so clearly the renovation has brought new life to the place! The only thing missing were coffee facilities in the room, which would be an easy addition.
Very friendly and helpful desk staff. No frills hotel. But great for us since we were only there for one night, and weren’t spending time at the hotel other than to sleep and shower. We wanted convenience to the parks. Very clean rooms. It would be nice if they added shelves in the nicely renovated shower. Bath towels were super small. But beds very comfortable. About a 15 minute walk to Disney.
Loved the look of this inn. Very cute and fun. Beds were too hard and not very thick blankets. Was ok regardless!
Great place to stay for a Disney trip. Was traveling alone and felt very safe and comfortable.
loved it
Went for a Disney trip , with our adult daughter. Just needed a place to sleep . The place was clean , comfortable and a moderate 20 minute walk to Disney.
Was a lovely hotel! Would definitely stay again! Also the fireworks show was right over head!! Couldn’t get better seats even if we had stayed in the park!
Loved our stay! Family and I went to Disney and the stay was so close to the parking garage also walkable for those who don’t have 3 little ones! Clean rooms very spacious! And comfortable beds! Always had fresh clean towels which was a big plus since I had forgotten mine! Thank you so much maingate inn I’ll definitely be back soon!

A Ulitarian Stay
We stayed for a week to visit Disneyland & Maingate was very utilitarian. We needed a place to come, wash up, & sleep, and these needs were met without frills. AC was nice & quiet though did have a UV light on at all times, but it wasn't a bother. There was a small nighty parking fee & limited parking, but we were able to leave it at the hotel & walk the 15 min to the Toy Story parking each day, which was nice. We will likely stay again on our next trip.
