We greatly enjoyed Villa Coba, with the private pool and jacuzzi. Excellent breakfast right by the beach. Very happy with the service, friendly and helpful staff
This hotel was wonderful, the location, the comfort in the rooms, the food, the service. I really recommend this hotel, after doing a lot of research I found the right one. I will definitely be back. Thank you Melissa, Rafael, Maria for your attention.
Oasis
Everything was perfect. Everybody was helpful. I will go back if I ever go back to Tulum. Celebrated my husbands birthday. Had ordered a cake. They made it so nice with music and singing. I was very touched, more than I expected. Clean and everybody is very attentive. The airport shuttle was working very well too.
This is a perfect case of false advertisement. It's a horrible hotel, I felt I was in a Netflix horror movie. I left the hotel did not get refund or credit. That was $4,500 down the drain.
Definitely a location I would visit again. It was such a great experience. ALL of the staff was always very helpful and attentive to our needs. We had a group of 8 and there were absolutely no complaints. The food was excellent, beautiful beach and great amenities. Thanks for making my brother's birthday trip an amazing one
The service was great Rafael & Paulina are top class.
The property was well maintained and offered a boutique feel, which we loved! However we were not expecting families to select this property because there are no kid amenities here? The beach service was lacking too, they only came around maybe every 3 or so hours. Housekeeping was inconsistent as well. The food was absolutely amazing here!!
Beautiful place, perfect hospitality
Absolutely beautiful place. Everyone was so welcoming there and the food was amazing. We loved Omar! Such a great sense of humor and made every meal/drink even more enjoyable!!
Service is excellent! I spent 3 nights and had a relaxing, peaceful time. It rained a lot and I ordered room service for dinner two nights and the food was really delicious and healthy. Omar deserves a special shoutout for being a fantastic and hilarious waiter. He recommended meals that were superb. My last night I ate at the restaurant and wasn’t feeling well, and he recommended the grilled fish and quinoa risotto, since they were light. Great choice. The spa services are a must! I had the best facial and massage, 70 minutes each, by I think, Abigail? I booked one for each day. Just amazing! My room was large and had everything I could want. The beach when it stopped raining, was fantastic! My last day the sun came out and while it was not hot, nice breeze, I still got sunburnt. This was my first solo trip and thanks to Ana y Jose, it was perfect due to staff and amenities. I will definitely stay there again when I visit.
I loved my stay at this place! Very friendly staff, and a beautiful hotel! I think the pool area could’ve been a bit bigger, but the beach made up for it! The food was definitely exceeding my expectations! Very great quality food.
Nos recibieron excelente, muy amables, las habitaciones lindas, solo que en una de ellas el aire acondicionado estaba mal localizado y fue insuficiente por la noche. Pero en genaral bien y la gente muy amables y atentos. Centrico y lindo
Local thief’s broke in to our room broke into the safe and stole all are money and jewelry We reported to the local police and hotel management have videos of the break in. The hotel have donde nothing for compensate our losses worst resort ever be aware.
Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel next to the beach.
amazing stay and service
Like everything in Tulum…. Massively overpriced and you are only viewed as a money extraction opportunity. This is a 2.5 star hotel with a few cute touches. If the room was a third of the price I’d give it a 5 star rating, but at what we paid, and how they continued to treat us as an ATM… I’m disgusted. EVERYTHING is extra. You want in-room coffee at $800 nightly?-No! You pay! You want the room upgrade you were promised? No! You pay! You want anything other than bread and fruit for breakfast? No! You pay! You want WATER? No! You pay! Many of the staff were awesome! Truly we we’re treated well. The food is authentic and great, Rafael at the beach and front desk staff tried hard. The problem with the hotel is the owner/management. You ARE NOT there to be given value or have a remarkable experience. You are there for their pockets only. The hotel is older and I can even see it as charming. The rooms were fine and there are a lot of cute things about the people. Tulum at large sucks.
Beautiful small hotel, good food, amazing beach and comfortable beds. Great food. We were in one of their new suites which was beautiful but noisey at night which didn’t bother us. The view from the balcony was not the best but the beach made up for any negative things. Would stay here again
Amazing
Great place, but unfortunately it has increased in price significantly.
The location of this property is excellent and the restaurant food is amazing however, the service was not consistently great every time. The complementary breakfast does not include any warm food, it’s only a basket of bread and coffee and a few pieces of fruits. The level of noise is super super loud due to construction next door and also the music from the bar across the street.
clean property with very friendly staffs. good location. the only issue was , included breakfast is not what we expected. it's basic.
Best go to in tulum
Ana y Jose is the consistent standby in Tulum…Ive stayed many many times… the location, rooms and staff are great-
This hotel is amazing! Our room "The Palma" was priced very reasonable, spacious, private hot tub was amazing, beds were so comfortable, we will definitely be back.
Great location, beautiful rooms, very clean, ultra friendly staff. We will be going back for sure!
The staff at Ana y Jose made this trip really special for us. Would absolutely go back. Our room was great, the continental breakfast was perfect every day and the conditions of the hotel itself was really well kept. Loved our experience here and would love to return.
Beautiful hotel! Excellent location!
Amazing service. All the staff was the best and made sure that we could find and enjoy everything that we needed. They were on top of everything.
We like everything, the atmosphere, the service, the food and the parties
Fantastic!
Tulum treasure
Charming just like the name. Great service and fabulous staff
The staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to accomodate. The staff was also very courteous and friendly. Property is beautiful and a great central location.
Beautiful oceanside view. Staff was friendly and helpful. I broke my ankle during the stay, Concierge Paulina and restaurant staff member Jorge went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. Jorge accompanied me to the physician's office to translate!
Try to sell you on something every time you see someone from the hotel
The staff is excellent! The food no so good and it is too expensive for the things and space they have. Besides the location there is nothing remarkable about the hotel. Over rated!!!!
Go again and again
Double digits stays over the years-always great and in the center of everything on tulum beach...
Such a beautiful resort and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was right in front of the beach easy access. The beach chairs were clean and nice. The hotel was absolutely amazing would definitely stay here again.
It’s a very nice hotel. beach is super nice. Continental bkfst is coffee, fruits, bread and juice. It is a great continental. You could pay for something else and anything in the bkfst menu taste very good.
Beautiful, place elegant and excellent services I love it
The private pool was a great service on the beach was great
antastic
Wonderful experience and great service
I liked the service at the front desk, check in was efficient and they helped book my transportation back to airport. I liked the beach bag we were able to use. Food was excellent!
The whole experience was amazing! Our room had a perfect view of the ocean and the sound of the ocean was so relaxing. The food at the hotel was delicious and the service was OUTSTANDING!! Okay for every good there has to be some bad...the bathroom does not offer any privacy!!! So make sure your with the one you love!!! 😂😂. Other than that 5 STARS!!!
lovely stay
Charming resort right on the water and close to lots of great bars and restaurants. Pool area could use a little more seating and service is sometimes a touch slow (but you're on vacation!).
Beautiful place, no activities like other hotels
Great stay! The breakfast was great, the grounds were beautiful. I wouldn’t recommend it for dinner though, theRe were many other restaurants to choose from that were better. My other critique is that they did not have any activities on site. All the other hotels on the beach in Tulum offer free yoga, meditation and other activities but this one did not. For the price, I was expecting a little more.
Wonderful place with great hospitality. The staff is always attentive and very professional. The grounds and landscape are classy and well designed. We truly enjoyed our two nights in this property. Amazing food and service. We enjoyed every moment of our stay.
Service was great and staff was very friendly. Location is fantastic for Tulum.
Fantastic location, and attention to detail. Unfortunately lots of seaweed on beach, nothing the hotel could do about this.
We stayed in a 4-room complex, Room Jose, 2nd floor. The complex shared their own private pool, beautiful with amazing, comfortable water! Staff was welcoming and very attentive to whatever you needed. Breakfast was included with the room, which was delicious and had lots of choices, and located in a great spot next to the beach. Great views! Loved our stay! Would definitely recommend Ana y Jose to others.
Exploiting travelers
For the price you pay the food and the wine is limited and very expensive. A $15 wine would cost you $80 there. You have to wait for your food 20-30 minutes even breakfast when you are the first one. The waiters and staff are very friendly. First & last time for me and my family. You cannot drink the water there and you have to pay for bottled water.
Excellent service and attentive staff. Only 30 rooms so the resort has a very leisurely feel. No problem getting a palapa, towels and chairs on the beach. All included with your resort fee. Nice touch is beach basket and slippers for your use during the stay. The breakfast buffet is excellent with lots of choices, american style and mexican style items available. Taxi to Ruins around 250 pesos from here. Lotsa restaurants in walking distance of hotel. They also have hammocks, bean bags, surrounding a very clean and well maintained pool. The private beach is extremely well maintained. Not crowded at all.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. We thought it a bit overpriced. Our first room did not have a door on the bathroom. The second room was very nice.
Amazing stay, perfect hotel choice in tulum
The beach area is beautiful, one of the best in tulum. There’s nice amounts of space between chairs making for a relaxing and uncrowded beach. Love the hut design of the rooms. Nice to wake up to the sound of birds every morning. Plenty of restaurants and amenities nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful without being pushy. Restaurant also is great, tasty food and great drinks. The overall vibe is more romantic / chilled / family friendly, which we really enjoyed.
Unbelievably beautiful boutique resort, with some of the best service we have encountered. Andrea in particular really made our stay a special one
Everything was fantastic. Super friendly staff and the hotel is absolutely beautiful!
Great breakfast! Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff are very attentive.
Lovely place to stay on Tulum beach
My second trip to Tulum, and we decided to book this stay at Ana y Jose for five days, and it was a wonderful experience! We'd definitely return. No complaints!
Tulum Getaway
The stay was great, loved the hotel, staff and location. Having the beach right there was great and the staff was very helpful!
Excellent stay , service was great in all parts of the hotel from front desk to beach waiting. Highly recommended for couples or family
Boring hotel, not really worth it. The beach chairs are mega cheap. Not worth the money.
Tulum beach
The hotel was great. The service at the red was excellent. They would remember what you drank for coffee after the first morning and never had to ask. The beach is amazing.
Great vacation!
We had a wonderful stay at Ana y Jose. Everyone was so pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. The reception staff helped us plan several days of tours and the tours were awesome. The restaurant staff was cheerful and attentive. It really was "charming." We'll be back!
Great small hotel, ideal for familiesll. Loved the beach. Food was excellent and staff friendly and always offering to help. I would really recommend this hotel and would.love to come back
Nice place, price was reasonable in a town full of overpriced yoga huts. Great beach! WiFi and air condition is had to come by on beachfront property.
Absolutely Perfect
Super relaxing, gorgeous property and top notch service. Paradise on earth.
Ana Y Jose Charming Hotel & Spa is a Standout! :o)
Ana Y Jose Charming Hotel & Spa exceeded all of our expectations immensely in every way! All of the staff were helpful, friendly, informed, and a pleasure to interact with. It was a happy atmosphere the entire time we were there. We took the time to walk the incredible beach that fronts Ana Y Jose and we took notice of all the other hotels along the long stretch of the beach, and we all decided we would rather stay at Ana Y Jose than any of the others. It might have been slightly more expensive but it was worth every penny! Valet parking with staff there waiting for us! The restaurant serves superb fresh cuisine with friendly waiters. Serene environment without the obnoxious loud music and booze fest present at many of the other locales. If you want the party animal atmosphere it is within walking distance without being so close as to influence the pleasantness and the serenity of Ana Y Jose. The only thing wrong with our visit to Ana Y Jose was that three nights were not enough and we would have stayed longer! If we ever get the chance to visit Tulum again we will be staying at Ana Y Jose! Just cannot say enough good things about this wonderful property, location, and experience! Five Stars and Two Thumbs way up!! Highly recommended so don’t miss it! You will not be disappointed! Be sure to say “hola” to Napoleon the Parrot when you check in! ***** A++++ All The Way!!!! :o) :o) :o)
Week end in Tulum
We have been several times to Tulum and always wanted to try Ana y Jose. We finally booked a suite with ocean view for a week end before another stay closer to Playa del Carmen. The overall experience was really good, the staff is very friendly and helpful. the location can't be beaten. The room view also can't be beaten, to listen to the ocean falling asleep is amazing. Beach palapas and other equipment were pretty good. The restaurant hall has sand on the ground which gives you the feeling to be on the beach, this is nicely done. We only had breakfast there (as we wanted to eat out at local restaurants) and it was very tasty. We used the "office" room on second floor above the restaurant: great quiet place with impeccable ocean view, A/C and strong wifi. The room overall was good, wish the wifi was stronger inside...we had a perfect signal on the beach. The look of the room looked a bit outdated but it did not matter in the end much as we did not spend too much time inside the room. They provided a baby crib which was awesome for out 11-month old girl. The grounds are nicely kept, lovely pool area as well. Very happy with our stay!
We are glad we chose this hotel. The staff was attentive and friendly. Luis and Wiliam are efficient and hard working all the while with a smile on their face.
We paid a lot of money for a nice room and barely received any service. We had to chase down waiters to take our order by the beach and the lounge chairs were nothing compared to other hotels
Very nice hotel
We very much enjoyed staying at Ana y Jose. It's a lovely hotel, very nice staff, great and super fun breakfast every morning. It's a quite spot for the southern section of the Tulum beach. Absolutely heavenly beach. We would absolutely stay there again.
Nice Hotel on the Beach
My wife and I stayed here a few weeks ago. Prime location and you are right on the beach.
"The vacation we take every five years.
We were greeted by sullen staff members that bordered on bring rude. The Garden View room we booked was like a basement and the "Garden View" was a tiny patio that backed up to a storage area. We up-graded our room the next morning. There was trash on the dining room floor and on the beach that the staff didn't seem to notice. The beach chair area wasn't taken care of and the chairs weren't set out to look nice and inviting. They were just left like they were from the day before. The food was so-so, and the drinks tasted watered down. The bed was a mattress on a concrete slab and the bedding was very poor quality. The Bathroom sinks were cracked and all the fixtures were totally corroded. House keeping was haphazard but was improved by requesting another maid. I didn't see anything before I booked about construction, but it was going on. The hotel one down from us had music playing Loudly all day long until late at night. It was very disturbing to see the parrot they keep at check-in. His cage was filthy and his perch was so short he just dangled off of it. He was fed on the floor along with his droppings and everything covered in ants. I checked several times, and there wasn't water for him. I consider this abuse. The furnishings in our room were very dated and unattractive.
Best spot on the beach!
Ana Y Jose surpassed our expectations in every way. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast included every morning was absolutely terrific. Unlike most places, you are able to choose your breakfast option off of a menu. We had a garden/pool room close to the street- it was like our own private paradise. A few reviews complain of street noise, but I only heard a few trucks go by- we mainly woke up to the birds singing. The beach area at Ana is also the best- their beach chairs are spread apart and everyone can have a wooden umbrella for shade. Other hotels have people crammed together and no shade to be had. Also, Kevin at he hotel helped us plan a day to the visit the Mayan Ruins and swim in a cenote. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
Outdated rooms and antique bathrooms
We stayed at the hotel for 5 of our 9 nights in Tulum. Our room was ocean front at cost of over $500 per d nigtht. Tiny room with outdated furniture and old style wooden shutters without actual windows. The room has a cheap noisy AC that barely cools the room with the winds blowing thru the closed shutters. If you chose to open the windows and front glass you will splashed in rain and sand blowing in. Other rooms may be better but this top room is uncomfortable. The sink barely had any water for the first 2 nights while our shower needed a safe cracker to adjust the delicate cold/hot water combination. Even then every 30 seconds you must jump to avoid the water turning mysteriously from warm to boiling. after 2 days they managed to fix the sink but the shower remained a constant danger. Even a precious afternoon nap was impossible with children constantly screaming below my closed shutters which happen to overlook the pool. So If you are a couple escaping from your own kids and looking for a place to relax avoid this hotel. The manager offered us 2 free 30 min massages as consolation for the sweaty nights, camping style bathroom and missed naps. I politely declined. There are plenty more charming hotel at half the price in Tulum and many much nicer hotels at the the price. There's no excuse for this hotel to charge misleading prices for the low quality they offer.
Best place on Tulum beach
Ana y Jose's is an amazing hotel. We spent four nights there in an ocean suite and the staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating! From the staff at the spa to the restaurant people to the people in reception, everyone was very helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. And it was! I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very clean and beautiful
We stayed in Tulum for a wedding. Here are some random things to know: we hung out at multiple restaurants, hotels, and houses. this was literally the ONLY place where you can flush the toilet paper. Every where else you have to discard of the tissue in the trash can which can be kind of weird when you go number 2. Our shower was aaaamazing. Great temperature and water pressure. Everyone that works there is super friendly. They provide you a pretty large bottled water in your room everyday plus deliver some kind of dessert every evening. The free breakfast you receive is not your standard cold continental breakfast. It's delicious, hot food with some sort of appetizer (for free). All you pay for is drinks. All of their food is so fresh and fancy. I loved the omelette. The room is a decent size, not huge or anything. But nice and incredibly clean. Very few places in Tulum have AC. this place does! They do not have king sized beds available FYI. Room does not come with a TV or fridge or microwave. But that's ok. Whatever room you're in, you're so close to the restauarant and beach. Beautiful beach. Loved the hotel and recommend!
Lives Up to its name
We were upgraded from a garden view to an ocean room which was a nice surprise. We loved everything about the hotel - very pleasant staff, wonderful location on the ocean, beautiful grounds. Only downside was the food which was not so great but that seemed to be a factor in the entire area. Limited choices and quite expensive. However, hotel is very pleasant and comfortable.
Fantastic stay in Tulum!
Ana y Jose was a great place to stay during our sister trip to Tulum. Everything about the trip was great. The service at the hotel - the entire wait staff, was fantastic, friendly and accommodating. They arranged a snorkel trip to Akumal for us, which was the highlight of the trip. We just wish we had more days in Tulum.
Above and beyond expectations
We arrived before check-in. The hotel staff suggested we change into comfortable clothes and enjoy the pool/beach. We had breakfast on the beach. There are lovely day beds for use. The pool was cold and refreshing. Our room had a private pool which only 4 rooms had access to which was quiet and nice. The staff made my birthday very special with champagne and cake delivered to the room.
Paradise on the beach
The service was top notch, the view was amazing, and it is in the middle of all the good restaurants.
Very nice hotel. Kevin and Grace at the front desk were wonderful. When we got there I requested a room with a TV (they only had a couple) and they were nice enough to change the room we were originally scheduled to have to give this to me. Also, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the Continental breakfast that came with the room was actually anything off the breakfast menu, not just a small basket of toast/rolls and coffee, the usual Continental breakfast everyone thinks of.
There are many options for places to stay at the beach in Tulum and you definitely want to be on the beach(but do go to town for tacos at Antojitos La Chiapaneca). We chose the high-end (partly for air-conditioning and free wi-fi). Ana y Jose Charming Hotel exceeded expectations. It is indeed charming. Our rooms were fantastic, the restaurant is very good, and we (mostly) enjoyed the spa. We had a few problems communicating at the restaurant and spa, however most of the staff is fluent and everyone is extremely hospitable.
Great room better than we expected
We got a garden view room when we booked but really it was a partial ocean view and right in front of the pool, beautiful beach great drinks. Loved the relaxing non resort feeling, amazing included breakfast looking at the beach every day.
Pros and Cons
Very expensive. Be careful what room you are given, our was very small and old. Not one complaint about the service, couldn't have been better.
For a relaxing break
Love Ana y Jose - Kevin was great (front desk) - he move us to a new villa with 2 bedrooms that was very nice. The next door property was hosting a wedding on Friday night so the music was pretty loud till after midnight....otherwise it was very comfortable. Food service and beach service was good and we enjoyed the breakfast each morning
Pleasant hotel, great location top notch staff
We had an nice stay at Ana y Jose, the staff was most excellent and our room was comfortable, though the bed was a little too firm. Our only real complaint was the noise from the hotel bar of the resort next door that continually was pumping techno beats. We choose Tulum to get away from the night life and this was disappointing. We were in the Villa del Mar section which was right next door to the offending bar. The breakfast which was included was quite tasty and we sampled all the offerings. The wait staff and everyone at the front desk was top notch and my wife had a good experience at the Spa. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
nice hotel next to beach
very comfortable and quite, truly a relaxing vacation. The beach was next to the hotel.
Great hotel
I would definitely come back! Beautiful hotel great location and the staff is amazing! Great great service! A little expensive but worth it because you have air conditioning in your roon and most of the hotels in tulum dont and you need it! The weather gets pretty warm there. No tv in the room but was okay... The pool was great and direct acces to the beach with all the amenities. It was our first time in tulum and we had a great experience here! Will definitely come back! To not doubt it! Stay here!
Great hotel, service could imrpove a bit...
Hotel is very nice and cossy. We had a garden suite and we loved the balcony and the almost private pool. Our room was nice and clean and ammenities are really nice. Breakfast (included on rate) was great the first day, good the second day and just ok on the third. Drinks and food on the beach is quite good and prices are ok. By accident a waitress spilled some boiling eggs on my girlfrind and they offered to take cloths to the laundry for free and later ended up charging us the laundry... other than that I would really recommend the hotel. Take into consideration that the beach in most of the caribean is covered with sea weed son swimming on the sea is not a nice experience.
Pleasant stay and right on the beach.
I would have given the hotel a 5-Star but two major thing were missing in the room. First, there was no electrical outlet by the bathroom sink. Second, there was no place to hang your used towels. Other than that all was nice. Loved the candles in the tiled shower. The bed was firm and comfortable which made for a great nights sleep. There was a safe in the room for valuables and nice lighting for ambience. I found the restaurant staff to be a bit unfriendly but overall accommodating. The pool was fabulous and the beach chairs were very nice. Loved that staff served you on the beach. Always a nice touch! The location was the best. You could walk to all the nice restaurants. (Note: Take a flashlight along for walking along the beach or the road at nighttime, it came in very handy). The downfall of the stay was the rough surf and the seaweed. Bad timing on our part but still enjoyed the ocean water. The guests consisted of mostly adults. There were a few young children and I must say they were very well behaved! It may not be the best place to visit for children. Very quiet and reserved atmosphere. We would most definitely stay ay Ana Y Jose again!
Couple trip
You have to consider the fact that Tulum lacks some infrastructure. In that sense it is a plus that it has fresh water for taking a shower. However, the beach is just ok, food is good nothing outstanding, my room was spacious and nice. So in a few words, the hotel is nice but in my opinion it is too expensive for what you get.
honeymoon in paradise
We came after our wedding in Playa del Carmen for a little honeymoon. Ana y Jose was absolutely beautiful. The service was amazing and we were very pleased. The food is excellent and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We did upgrade our room as the rooms listed online are not always exactly as they are in person so this would be our one piece of advice.
Amazing hotel in Tulum!
My husband and I just returned from our 5 day stay at Ana y Jose. We couldn't have loved it anymore than we did! The hotel is so charming as is all of Tulum. It's close to everything you'd want, the staff is so great and helpful, it's clean, air conditioning is a plus! Overall, we had a great experience in Tulum and I believe Ana y Jose was the best place to enhance our time in Tulum!
Perfect Location
Great service, delicious dinning, especially the breakfast menu, try the Huevos Ana...with chorizo from nearby town of Valladolid. Beach is very nice. And you can walk to many restaurants at night.
Wonderful, relaxing hotel
Wonderful experience: friendly staff, free and fast wifi, complimentary delicious breakfast, great location, room has good wifi + fan and views of the ocean. The restaurant has delicious food as well. Best place in Tulum by far!
March trip to Tulum
Charming hotel and caring staff who were very helpful in upgrading us to a room with more of a view. Room was comfortable and clean with partial view of ocean once we moved. Beach was lovely with gardeners working hard to deal with the unusual seaweed that was being blown in. Enjoyed Breakfast/restaurant area and massage. One night had noise from band at neighboring hotel till 5 am - but luckily only one night. Birding at muryil was excellent as was the snorkeling at laguna yai-Ku in akumal. As for restaurants in Tulum had great seviche at el Capitan in town and pasta at Posada Margherita in beach area.
Excellent Service
We were scheduled to stay at the Ana Y Jose hotel for our one year anniversary. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and were not able to make our accommodations as we had booked them. However, upon our delayed arrival the staff did their absolute best to make us comfortable at one of their other hotels in Tulum (Corals) and they greeted us with Champagne. While we didn't receive our money back for the first two days, we did receive excellent service and we would stay at one of their hotels again. The food/beach/accommodations at Corals were beautiful.
I've visted Tulum a few times and was looking forward to finally staying at Ana y Jose after trying a few other hotels in the area. On check in we were told that the hotel was overbooked and we were being "upgraded" to a nearby hotel owned by the same group. The hotel we were sent to was beautiful, but NOT what what we booked. It lacked the charm and location of Ana Y Jose. After speaking again to management the next morning we were moved back to Ana...only to be told we would need to check out again the following morning as our room was promised to another guest. Three nights, three hotels moves....put a bit of a damper on the weekend. The management worked hard to sort out the booking problem, but there should not have been an issue in the first place. Not a smooth visit, but the hotel and it's staff are quite lovely. The beach is beautiful, but beware...seaweed is taking over! You will have to tend with wind and rough waters, but the ocean is warm. The hippy feel of Tulum is slowly being replaced with a more expensive resort feel. Go there before the charm is lost!
Lovely Caribean Beach Destination
Visit for a family wedding. Absolutely wonderful. Only marred by my wife's engagement ring disappearing from our room.
Ana Y Jose, Tulum
Ana Y Jose is a very nice hotel by Tulum standards. It has a great location on a beautiful beach with comfy lounge chairs, palapas and drink service. There is a small pool on the property which is mainly used by small children. Beware of the poolside rooms if you are traveling without children, the noise from the pool is quite loud. Our room included breakfast every morning which was quite good especially the huevos rancheros! We did not eat any other meals at the hotel since there are so many other places to choose from within walking distance. Our room was nice but had some drawbacks which included no outlet in the bathroom area, very dark, no drawers to put away non-hanging items, not very sound proof. The nice things about the room were A/C, comfy beds and pillows, in-room safe, private patio. Also, the minibar items were quite affordable compared to other hotels. Whenever we needed assistance Lilly at the front desk was very helpful. All in all it was a great trip!
