5 star B&B

This place is spotlessly clean, in a great location on the water and a short drive to the town centre. Our host Leo was unobtrusive who cooked and served us a delicious breakfast. I can’t think of any ways to improve our stay. This is one of the best b&b’s you’ll ever stay in.

We had the most wonderful stay at Ana Mandara Luxury Retreat. Leo, our host, went above and beyond to make us comfortable and feel welcome after a difficult roadtrip from Brisbane. A delicious dinner, candles lit, and wine poured, greeted us on arrival, followed by the best night sleep in the most comfortable bed and spacious room. Breakfast was such a treat too. Highly recommend!

The host of this boutique stay goes above and beyond. The amenities are amazing and we will definitely be back to stay again.

The overall service was excellent. In particular the attention to detail in every aspect of our stay. Breakfast was amazing. We chose Ana Mandara because it advertised accessible accommodation and in regard to this, it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend Ana Mandara to anyone with mobility issues.

Leo was a wonderful host, the property was immaculately clean and the food was amazing. Seeing dolphins in the river from our breakfast table was unforgettable. Can’t wait to return.

Wonderful hosts - so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The property is very clean and well maintained with all amenities needed and comfortable beds. Leo cooked us some great meals and Jenelle shuttled us to town and helped with anything we needed. We were in town for Ironman and the location was close to town. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend to others. We are avid travelers and this is one of best vacation properties we’ve stayed at.

Wonderful

This is a wonderful guest house. The hosts are extremely hospitable and friendly, and everything is modern, clean and in perfect working order. When we arrived we were offered nibbles and wine...the host is actually a professional cook...and made to feel like family. Breakfast the next morning was very nice as well, and especially pleasant and relaxing looking out over the river. We could only stay one night, but wished we could stay longer. We will definitely remember this place and stay again whenever we return to Port Macquarie.

Very comfortable room with lovely views over the Hastings river. Well appointed lounge. Excellent hosts. We dined in and had friends join us for a gourmet evening meal prepared by Leo - highly recommended. Breakfast also very nice.

Hosts were very friendly. Room was very clean. We wouldnt say the stay was luxurious or that it was a fine dining experience for dinner or breakfast. I think the website over promised but it underdelivered.

The hosts Jen and Leo were so warm and welcoming, we woke up to delicious gourmet breakfasts from Leo. They were like family suggesting good spots and beaches and were very kind throughout. The rooms are very clean and always kept like that, the hotel faces the gorgeous Hastings river. Would love to go back soon.

Truly wonderful luxury B&B

Ana Mandara meaning ‘beautiful refuge’ is exactly that!!! The hosts Jennell and Leo were the perfect hosts from the start of our stay to the end. Leo is also the chef, the three course breakfast and dinner on both nights were delicious. My husband and I both felt very much at home at this beautiful place we even got a visit from the native wildlife, a very loud green frog named Kermit And a kangaroo family in the back garden😀would highly recommend this unique, beautiful place❤️

Fabulous place to stay

We had a lovely stay at Ana Mandara! Jennell and Leo were great hosts and our room was very clean and comfortable. We loved how quiet the location was, facing the river we saw dolphins while eating breakfast.

Absolutely perfect stay in a wonderful property and idyllic setting. We visited in "winter" and were treated to a 20 deg C afternoon and spectacular views over the water from our room (#4)'s balcony. Jennell and Leo were aces; the former with her hospitality, travel advicel; and kind offer to drive us to and from dinner in town. Leo was equally friendly and helpful, and his cooking -- we only ate breakfast, and regretting passing up the in-house dinner -- was truly on-par with a high-end restaurant. We would return in an instant, and wish we'd spent more than one night at Ana Mandara. Highly recommended.

A one night stopover.

We had a great time as were warmly welcomed by the hosts Leo and Janelle. We felt immediately at home and very comfortable. The service offered was of a high standard and the rooms elegantly appointed. We had a very pleasant stay here and will most certainly choose to stay here again should we travel to Port Macquarie in the future.

Excellent hospitality experience, Leo was very welcoming even though we arrived late at night. Everything was meticulously prepared with great attention to detail. Breakfast was amazing too. Highly recommended!

Fantastic stay!

Amazing place for romantic getaway! Very nice and welcoming hosts, who’s turned their house in luxury mini-hotel. Fantastic views on the river, where you can spot dolphins during the delicious breakfast made by host. Backyard with bunnies, and family of kangaroos visiting sometimes in the mornings. Big rooms with most comfortable bed ever, gorgeous bathroom, cute terrace. Hosts are very nice, and treating you as most important guest ever, they have given some good travel and must see tips to us! Also, you can find nice jet pool on the main terrace, and you can use their bbq. Definitely recommend, and we will try to come visit again.

This is the most perfect experience a purpose built property with exceptional quality and the owners Janelle and Leo are the most welcoming couple - the food is 5 star I had Peking duck eggs for breakfast from a local farm 😁👍

Ana Mandara Luxury B & B is absolutely beautiful.

I stayed at Ana Mandara for 5 nights on a business trip and it was fantastic. The owners Jennell & Leo are such lovely hosts. The food is delicious and fresh. The place is modern, luxurious, and immaculately clean and tidy. The location is beautiful overlooking the river and close to everything, and it has easy parking on the premises. Jennell & Leo do everything they possibly can to make your stay enjoyable, and it definitely was. I can honestly Highly Recommend Ana Mandara to anyone and I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Exceptional

This B&B is truly exceptional. After a month of traveling around Australia, we had our best night’s sleep at Ana Mandara. Quiet and very comfortable. The place is lovely with attention to details.The lounge and several of the rooms look out at the river across the street. The host and hostess welcomed us with offers of a drink and answers to our questions. A gourmet breakfast was prepared for us. We wished we had more time to stay another night as we felt so nurtured.

Was able to have a long weekend away and our experience at Ana Mandara was amazing. The hosts we accommodating in every way.

2-Night Stay

Our hostess warmly welcomed us upon our arrival, it was such a personally touching welcome that it lingered in our minds. The genuine warmth of our host and hostess was prevalent throughout our 2-night stay. Every interaction that we had with them was not only extremely courteous and helpful but has been a real pleasure. Our room was luxurious with expansive views of the Hastings River. We simply returned early after our day's holiday activities to enjoy our stay at Ana Mandara. Our holiday experience in Port Macquarie became uniquely special when our host who is a trained international chef acceded to our request to cook a tailor-made dinner for us on both nights. He cooked mud-crabs (locally sourced) on our first night and baked pork spare-ribs on the second night. Both dinners were exquisite, tasty and generous.....surpassing standards found even in gourmet restaurants. Our heartfelt thanks to Jennel and Leo for making our Australian holiday truly special.

Right on the river, perfect view at Sunset

Just had a quick stopover on our way back to Sydney. Leo and Janelle (sorry about spelling!) were absolutely wonderful hosts. A must do is to have a glass of bubbles in the amazing spa overlooking the river at sunset - dolphins may be an added bonus! The breakfast is amazing - you will not need to eat again all day! Will not be disappointed :)

Wonderful experience

The owners were wonderful and accommodated us to the max. The room was spacious and comfy; the breakfast fantastic out on the deck with a water view. We arrived late, so they made a wonderful, last minute dinner for us. It even had an elevator to the second floor. A GREAT experience.

Superb!

First time in a B&B and I couldn’t have picked a better property! Jenell and Leo make sure your stay is one to remember for all the tight reasons. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel so welcomed, and nothing was too much trouble for them. From the beautiful room with the beautiful spa and the personal touch left on the bed, to the amazing breakfast the next morning and the find farewells on check out. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone. I felt so spoiled and at the end it was like saying farewell to family.

Comfort and luxury on the river.

Impressive from the moment we arrived. Greeted by the kindest and friendliest hosts who ensured that everything was perfect for our stay. The facilities and rooms are excellent, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms were large and well equipped. The balcony has fantastic views over the river and the mornings 3 course breakfast was delicious. Thanks so much! Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

Simply the best hotel of our Australian adventure.

We never write reviews about our holidays but on this occasion felt we had to let others know about this superb accommodation in Port Macquarie, Australia. This boutique hotel is run by Janelle and Leo who are simply the most professional and welcoming hosts you could wish for. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed with champagne and a beer and lots of information about restaurants, excursions and things to do in the local area. Their self built home is amazing and looks over the river where dolphins can be spotted whilst you are eating your breakfast. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well presented and put to shame some of the 5 star hotels we stayed at on our extended stay in Australia. Overall this accommodation was one of the highlights of our trip. We wish we had stayed longer and will definitely return to Port Maquarie and the Ana Mandara as soon as possible.

A place I'll remember fondly

Had a wonderful time. Was well looked after by our hosts who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Great room overlooking the river. Great outdoor spa and bathroom spa. Great all round experience.

Enjoyable and relaxing - will stay again

Host met us on arrival and offered us cold drinks. Our room - with a water view - was very large, extremely clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a gourmet dinner and the breakfast next morning was first class and very filling. Janelle and Leo were very friendly and the perfect hosts.

A lovely weekend away.

We had a lovely stay, the proprietors we very friendly and the Breakfast was sensational. View from the balcony was beautiful in the evening and in the morning we even got to see a few dolphins swimming up river.

Perfection in Port Macquarie

Nothing was too much trouble for Jenell and Leo. From the fabulous breakfasts to the leisurely (optional) dinners they were diligently attentive, always charmingly helpful and never intrusive. They have poured their souls into Ana Mandara, designing the new building to be comfortable and elegant with a large, high-ceilinged central area for eating and lounging, giving onto a huge patio with uninterrupted views to the picturesque river just across the road. A deep spa bath in a well-appointed bathroom, pelicans, dolphins and bell-birds outside the window and spectacular sunsets. Need I say more?
