Close to downtown
Very nice hosts. Wonderful breakfasts. Super close to downtown and theaters.
Lovely place. Easy to check in.
Fantastic location central to the town of Stratford and the various stages. Friendly, accommodating staff and a clean, well-appointed room.
We spent four nights, for the Shakespeare festival. We were disappointed by the sagging mattress, the tired furnishings, the overly regimented, uninspired breakfasts and the lack of our host’s fluency in English.
Good place to stay
We were very disappointed with the B&B, we were put into an apartment-style room because bed's for the B&B were being delivered. The facility was very tired and uninviting- the living room was tiny and had old and depressing prints on the walls, cheap nylon curtains and no personality. The place was clean and the bed was exceptionally comfortable with good sheets. Towels were a total joke- postage-size and thin as paper. Two hand-towels, 2 face clothes and two tiny bath towels. We asked for extras and were told we had two people and two towels. Bathroom was large and had lots of hot-water. Breakfast was excellent with lots of fruit, eggs and pastry. Very sweet people running the place but definitely no idea of aesthetic appeal. If you want a place to lay your head, it is ok and it is within walking distance of the theatres and restaurants. Very dark and depressing overall.
The hosts were very accommodating and particularly nice. They were gracious without being intrusive. The location was perfect for the theaters. The room was clean and well serviced. The room was very small, smaller than average in Stratford. The breakfasts were just OK at best, though when we ordered the Chinese breakfast, it was much better than the American one.
The Host and Hostess were very warm and attentive to our needs. The breakfast was wonderful!! The property is ideally located so we could walk to anything we wanted to do. We would stay there again.
Very friendly and helpful staff
In a nice quiet area that is walkable to the theatres, restaurants and shopping.
Very friendly owners,
Modest Good value Exactly what we needed for one night
Although definitely not modern, it was clean and the hosts were lovely
Location made it possible to walk to both the Festival and Avon theatres. Owners were friendly and very accommodating and served a great and generous breakfast. We will be back the next time we come to Stratford.
Enjoyed talking with the owners. Wonderful breakfast and tea!
Loved the owners!
The couple that runs the B&B is delightful. The location is wonderful for the Stratford festival. The rooms are a bit dated.
Excellent service, breakfast and cleanliness
Pleasant Experience
Clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent! The hosts were very friendly and willing to share their story. It is an older home, at least a hundred years old and extensively renovated. The plumbing and cooling system is new.
Home away from home
The enrire house is very clean, the breakfast is fantastic. The owners are very professional yet friendly. A feeling of home away from home.
Lovely, perfectly placed B&B!
This is a lovely B&B in a perfect location to walk to all the Stratford Festival venues. Our hosts were a very charming couple of Asian descent who provided a huge breakfast fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, muffins, coffee and tea. Although their literature suggests that a "choice" of English or Asian breakfast was available... it appeared that one would need to ask for asian fare.
Great location. Reasonable price. Good breakfast but limited timing options.
Very comfortable bed
On a main road but the room was in the back, and was reasonably quiet. We stayed in room #4 (blue room) which had a balcony but which was accessed via the guest coffee room rather than a hallway, which affected our privacy a bit.
Great hosts! Wonderful relaxing balconies! Short walk to everything!
Friendly hosts and good breakfast.
Comfortable and clean. Sink drained very slowly. The room was functional but only place to sit and relax or watch tv was the communal area downstairs. But we spent most of our time at the theater so no real problem.
Hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Excellent Stay
Our stay was awesome. Very friendly, kind and terrific in every way hosts. Breakfast, second to none. Would definitely stay again. Location could not be better. Rating is a 10 for sure.
The Pengs are gracious, friendly and wonderful hosts, who operate a warm and comfortable B & B. Breakfasts began with fresh fruit and a dumpling, followed by freshly made eggs, bacon, sausage and toast. One morning Mrs. Peng prepared pork fried rice, a dumpling and won ton soup. Delicious. The location is ideal, within walking distance of the Festival and Patterson theatres. And there's ample parking behind the inn. The Ambassador B & B is a hidden treasure.
Neighbours were very loud and disrespectful — unfortunately, not much sleep on this stay.
The proprietors are very friendly. They serve a lovely Chinese breakfast on advance request. Room was clean with private bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Location is an easy walk to all theaters and downtown. I highly recommend this B & B!
Nice and clean.
Close to venue's
Close to downtown. excellent breakfast. The host is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and room condition is good. This is one of my best hotel steyed. It is quite recommended.
Hosts are excellent
Close to theatres
I chose this location because it was within an easy 10 minute walk to all the festival theatres. The host is friendly. If you have a yearning for coffee, there is a K-cup maker in a room on the second floor. Rooms have mini fridge. Breakfast may be typical Canadian or Chinese
They adjusted their meals to reflect our dietary issues.
The property was conveniantly located to the Theaters and town centre, all in walking distance. The owners were friendly and accomodating. We found the place itself to be bare bones, tired furnishings and finishings in the rooms. Breakfast was filling but again, lack of presentation, made it very mediocre. Unfortunatly, this is not a place we would return to.
Wonderful hospitality, warm welcome, excellent facilities.
Cute room, nice balcony with a pretty view over the trees. //Was given a form to fill out beforehand and chose 'chinese style breakfast' (other choice was 'standard), but was served standard breakfast which was strange. Food was good overall, very simple though. Husband talked at us all through breakfast complaining about how bad tourism is this year and asked us kind of intrusive questions! Wife was very friendly and gave us ample space. //Shower door is a bit filmy. //**Biggest issue - no fan or a/c, neighbour was doing construction at 5:30 am onwards (!) so opening windows for air wasn't an option.
Very helpful nice people
Good stay for Theatre.
Great location, clean, friendly.
Very nice stay. The food is good, the family so welcoming. Stratford is a lovely place to stay and the Ambassador fits in so well to the vibe of the town.
Happy we had a back room as Ontario St is a busy thoroughfare. Ask for it when booking.
Our experience with Bed and Breakfast accommodations is limited. This place satisfied our needs for rest and pleasant conversation with other guests.
Very convenient to Stratford Festival theatres, very genial hosts, off street parking, good breakfast, quiet at night, comfortable bed.
Full breakfast delivered to guest individually. Great variety of foods. Walking distance to all theaters. Private parking area.
Location was perfect, the hosts were wonderful, we had a wonderful stay.

The property is equidistant from the Festival and Avon theatres - less than 10 min walk in each direction. The hosts were quite accommodating of food allergies or aversions for breakfast. I will likely be going back.
