Beautiful lagoon-front self-contained hotel, room was spotless, staff the most courteous and helpful I’ve ever met. Lagoon tour (arranged by front desk) was peaceful, full of birds, Captain Rohan a fantastic guide to birds and wildlife. Transportation to Negombo is via tuktuk, driver Asim polite and exceptionally kind (provided tour of Negombo and a short errand for salt and Type G adapter for my travels, Amagi Aria has universal outlets but the rest of Sri Lanka has Type G). Excellent breakfast buffet too!

There was no fridge in the unit n I needed to put my insulin in the fridge.they said they would bring 1 but never did . I gave them the insulin to put in their fridge. I asked them again about the fridge.then they bought one n plugged it in. They brought my insulin and the box was all wet n one cartridge was broken.as I had 1 extra I didn’t bother complain.after a while I found the fridge was not working at all.i just left my insulin outside. Why they have to put that they probably knew it wasn’t working. At my age I didn’t want any drama n said nothing to them. I was disappointed.

Horrible. STAY AWAY

Rooms are shoddy at best. First room with broken lock, warm fridge, dim lighting (couldnt even see my clothes let alone face in the mirror). Second room, was give their nonfunctioning family room, fridge had been removed and I was provided warm water and a subpar A/C so woke up in a sweat, shades did not even open so could not enjoy sunshine in their dull dimly lit rooms, bathroom was horrendously dirty and dilapidated. Room key never worked and doors didn’t lock (I believe the maintenance guy must still be on his way). Horrible and wouldn't even stay there for free. Zero vegan options other than fruit unless you are allergic to any since all are mixed together using same serving spoon. No nondairy options in a place with majority Asian visitors is just inconsiderate. The “spa” is a joke and so rundown for being “new” (one year old) -looks like walking into an abandoned construction site, nobody washed their hands, no sheet even placed on the body, cold and made colder when massage guy put fan on blast for his own comfort after which he continued to massage with his sweaty hands. Not convenient to visit anything in town and takes forever to get Uber to and from property. Do not offer free airport pickup/dropoff and considerably more expensive than an Uber (airport only 15mins away). They left used toilet paper roll in a family room suite with about ten squares on it.

It is a good hotel on the lake/beach with all sorts of services available.

The place was very nice

Early flight in the morning to Europe and too much noice of loud music coming come from the bay. I could not sleep the hours I had available at the property, plus when I woke up and turned on the light I saw a big cockroach on the floor running around .... no comment

We arrived late and sheets were not clean on the bed.Housekerping was poor service Staff were helpful and pool was nice..

Convenient & comfortable

Hotel a short drive from the airport. The hotel’s airport pickup & check in was seamless, although we arrived around midnight. The hotel room was clean & comfortable, with a fantastic view from the room balcony, it’s right on the lagoon.

The people were nice for the most part. Veg options were limited, AC in room was weak, ants in bathroom which wasn't that clean.

The room were OK. The lagoon set was interesting. Restaurant service could be better. The offering of a room to our driver was commendable.

Location is good

We booked a taxi to the airport for the morning of our flight and when we checked out there was no ride available. Along with 2 other groups that Morning. We ended up having to order an Uber to get to our flight. Front desk was over whelmed with more than one checkout at a time. Almost missed our flight.

Very average

Arrived and the first room was so full of condensation that the bed was wet and the water was rolling down the wall. They moved us to N upgraded room which was not clean, floor was sticky and bathroom has a horrible smell. We were in transit so the stay was literally 8 hours. We ordered food from the restaurant to have on the balcony and it was over priced and pretty average after a big upsell on how good it would be. Staff were super friendly

Thank you to the beautiful staff at Amagi Aria❤️! We stayed only 1 night but was met by friendly and lovely staff. The location is amazing, really close to the airport but still tucked away with a beautiful view to adore when you wake up!

Good hotel for Colombo airport

Great hotel if you are flying and need to stay over for a night close to the airport.

Breakfast not good at all!!!! Too expensive for such kind of hotel.

Do not bother staying here. There are so many accommodation options. Pricing is in line with other 4 and 5 star properties, however the pictures are misleading and property is in poor condition. Service is average. - We arrived late at night and they couldnt find our reservation - We were checked into a room in a lower category that what we'd booked. After seeing the room and challenging it they went to change it - The room was very worn out and run down. Dirty floors, damaged furniture. The bathroom was a disgrace. I've never seen anything like it. The toilet seat was heavily soiled with all sorts of stains and a terrible smell. - Bed linen soiled - Communal areas were dirty, food on the floor in the outdoor and indoor dining areas. Looked liked they'd been there for ages. Given the obvious lack of cleanliness and hygiene we were afraid to eat the breakfast as we doubted the kitchen hygiene - After a late flight we got into our room around 4am. We didnt sleep or use the facilities because of the poor conditions, and left the hotel before 9am.

Very nice place to stay. Town centre close by. Staff are very friendly with excellent customer service.

Good place

Nice setting and well designed facility. Room generously proportioned but was a bit dark at night as lighting not really adequate. Air conditioner was noisy and it sounded like there was a tropical rain storm happening I had to turn it off to get some sleep. Buffet breakfast was good.

Amazing views, outstanding food and staff that go above and beyond, genuinely beautiful all round. Our room was amazing with a stunning Lagoon view, cleaned daily with bottled water also replenished daily. Everything was clean and service was amazing. Food was outstanding, the chefs amazing, my partner was particularly partial to the Seafood platter, the buffet was incredible with a wide variety of options available, Cakes were beautiful. All staff we very friendly, couldn't help enough and were a key part in making our holiday as memorable as it was, we are truly greatful to all of the staff particularly Subash for being so welcoming and helpful, Supunika for remembering our awkward lunch requests and still smiling : ) Sumeda for helping make our meals so outstanding and delicious and last but by no means least Malinda for his excellent, friendly and attentive service. There are many others whos names we didn't manage to take but you know who you are and thank from the bottom of our hearts, all of the staff are amazing. To make it that little bit better the hotel is also only a short drive to the airport so transfers were quick and easy. Thanks so much again for making our holiday one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. Hope to see you all again soon. All the best, Charlotte and Mr Mauri : )

Negambo gem

Excellent resort great view over lagoon. Rooms were big and comfortable. Air conditioning was great. Good to have a balcony. Organised a car through hotel to pick us up at airport and it was there waiting which was good as flight arrived late at night. Food in restaurant good. Organised car and driver through hotel to do sightseeing. Staff were excellent always friendly polite and so helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel. It is in Negambo not far from airport on lagoon. You don’t get any of the traffic of Colombo.

This was a beautifully appointed residence on the shores of the lagoon. It was in excellent condition with large comfortable rooms and good facilities/amenities. Close to Colombo International airport and staff were extremely accommodating arranging pick up in the middle of the night and allowing late check out so that we could catch up on some sleep. I thoroughly recommend.

Staff was friendly and introduced us to the seafood buffet for only LKR 2000 per person. Property was clean but there was some insects in our room and the gym was limited

This is the perfect place for the first night in Sri Lanka to then head off an explore the beauty of the island. It’s close proximity to the airport makes it an easy stop after a long flight. Accommodation more than satisfactory

My last review was about not having hot water. This time all worked out well. I have been at this hotel several times, there was one time that was poor. This time all is well.

The front office was not courteous and inspite of we requesting for a Airport pick up, no arrangement was made and we had to call multiple times on the same. Also, they were trying to charge unreasonably for the pick up and drop. For a 5 km ride we were charged LKR 2000 which is normally only LKR 500 by a regular taxi.

Service staff are faultlessly BRILLIANT. WiFi needs serious attention. Given access codes that failed, after a few annoying hours, got logged into a system that would only work in my room. Fine for some people,some of the time, but you don't stay in your room all the time, Important phone calls were missed while by the pool, Bar and wandering around the grounds. Returning the calls proved an issue as the connections kept dropping out. Yet the availability of 5 other Amagi services were visible with full bars, these I was not allowed,able to access!

Efficient service. Organised for the Hotel to pick me up from airport and the driver was not there when I arrived. Plane landed early and I moved through the terminal quickly but disappointing to be left waiting for 20 minutes. Power went out a few times while in the room and trying to watch TV. The shower in my room all didn't drain properly and I almost flooded the bathroom. It was only a short stay and the staff were very accommodating and friendly, the room was tidy and check in/check out was all very smooth.

The staff were all so lovely and the location is amazing, such a peaceful atmosphere. Also really easy to get from and to the airport. I would 100% recommend!

My first room was a lagoon view and I was upgraded to a large room with a view from the balcony of almost the whole lagoon, sunsets included. Brilliant.

Pros: The interior design of the room was very nice. I had the sunset suite and the room was very spacious. The property was quiet and conveniently located near the airport. The spa was nice and reasonably priced. Cons: This property was definitely overpriced. Sri lanka is generally inexpensive and this hotel was not. I had the jacuzzi room and the jacuzzi was covered on the balcony. But when I uncovered it before use, it was very dirty. Not from dust or debris from outside but it hadnt been cleaned after the last person used it. It was late so I didn't feel like having housekeeping come to clean it so I didn't even get to use this amenity that I paid for. I had the halfboard meal option but the dinner and breakfast were mediocre at best. Overall: Okay property if you can book it far in advanced for a cheaper price. Pass up the upgraded room option as the jacuzzis are not cleaned regularly. Best as a transit hotel.

I liked the rooms and it looked nice. What I didn’t like was the strong unpleasant smell from the Lagoon and it was isolated from any outside restaurants or nightlife.

Great stay! Really nice views of the city and lagoon. Nice pool. Great buffet selection. Staff was super helpful and nice. Would absolutely recommend for anyone.

Really nice, super close to airport but a bit far from Negombo or other town to walk too, we were just there for 1 night to chill before our flight which is what it was perfect for. Also the food was really yummy! I think thier check in process could be a little quicker

Short stay

The hotel is about 10 minutes drive from.the airport, ideal if you arrive late and don't fancy going far. Quick easy check in, in a 2nd floor room overlooking the water. It was clean, comfortable bed and washroom was fine with a good shower. Breakfast had a lot of choice. We stayed just one night before travelling to Sigiriya.

Good place

Great hotel and room. We got a sea facing view. The rooms are good. The food is decent. The beds however were too soft.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were lovely and well kept, but with the pool in the corner of the hotel, it felt like there could be a better use of space. The breakfast buffet was okay, good variety, but not excellent flavor. The Air photos looked as though there was a tub in our room, but there was not. Overall it was a really great experience. The spa was also good, but the girls didn’t seem extremely confident or well-practiced. We also ordered a massage from their menu that we were told they don’t offer, so that was slightly disappointing. i would certainly come back again or recommend it.

Great start to our Sri Lankan adventure

A super location so close to the main road yet when you're there it feels so remote and tranquil. A beautiful setting on the edge of a lagoon where you can see lone fishermen in their little boats. Buffet menu was really extensive, with fresh food items cooked individually too. Good to see a lot of Sri Lankan foods as well as more international and other Asian items. Our first night in Sri Lanka and a great start...

The hotel was really nice with a great view of the lagoon. Our only complaints were that they did not give us the requested wake up call and that the items on the menus in both restaurants were different from the English description

Good location for the airport, approx 15 mins. Otherwise hotel is basic and far better hotels can be found in the Negombo area for a similar price point.

We only stayed one day/night as it is very conveniently situated near to the airport. Lovely staff, lovely swimming pool :)

This time we stayed in room 3301 facing the lagoon. The room was more spacious and doesn't have a musty smell. Bring your own amenity, hotel only provided with soap and shampoo. Breakfast was okay.

Poor check in service, super loud all night long, until 4am-there was massive partying happening, loud voices, loud music. Food was unimpressive given the richness of sri lankan food. Buffet was way overpriced. Food service very poor at dinner. Spa was the best part, I spent 3 hours there. THe bed was comfortable, decent pillows and sheets.

Dont stay in room 2108. Shower didnt drain right. There is AC compressor or maybe water pumping loud humming sound most of the night, not even ear plugs can block the sound. I have stay in this hotel many times before, other rooms are ok. This one is a no no.

Great for overnight stay

Was only an overnight stay which was excellent for us as so close to the airport. Breakfast was exceptional.

Nice hotel and lovely stuff

I stayed only one night as I went on tour after. I have to say the stuff was great and very lovely very helpful with everything. I highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely stay!

A drive down a narrow street off the main busy road we would not have expected to come across such a lovely place!! A beautiful quiet location was a great choice away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town or Negombo city. We were skeptical about the Lagoon having a bad smell but this was not at all the case. The Lagoon was so gorgeous to wake up to each morning. Rooms were clean and spacious except the bathroom was a bit tiny and dark but no big dramas there. Buffet breakfast was delicious and just enough. Would recommend and stay again :)

Lovely small hotel located on the beach with a pool near the airport. They offered a generous breakfast buffet included with the room. Our room was comfortable, with a lovely balcony facing the beach. Everything about the hotel was very pleasant and we wished we could have stayed longer.

Average hotel tucked away from main Negambo area

Reasonable hotel but lacks service. Check in took 20 minutes even though it was 7 pm and room should have been ready. I was told that I got upgraded from pool view to lagoon view but before the sunrise, they put a huge marque for a wedding party which blocked everything in my view so I didn’t get neither pool view nor lagoon view but a sloppy marque view. Spa was closed as apparently only 1 person works in the spa and he was off sick. Breakfast was decent and rooms were clean but no blanket provided in rooms. Apparent their standard rooms are house in a building which has no lift but this is not mentioned anywhere in the hotel description.

Good quality hotel, with great food. Spoilt by rowdy guests partying in their room all night, with hotel staff not taking any action to quieten them.

You get what you pay for

The "pool view room" we booked only had a view of a large tent put up for a wedding, this went on til half 11. At breakfast a coach load of 75 Chinese students ran around the buffet, which little care for any other guests. But we only paid 45 quid for a night

Nice room but very rude staff

The hotel is ok, some parts seemed under construction. The pool is small and spa is not finished. The hotel is not in a convenient location for restaurants and shops or beach. We stayed in 5 hotels in Sri Lanka and the staff everywhere else were lovely. At Amagi Aria EVERY SINGLE staff member we encountered was rude and acted like anything was a bother. At the front desk when we checked in the man took about 5 minutes to finish stapling papers before even acknowledging us. Didn’t collect dirty plates after room service for a full day, left them in hallway all night. Man in spa was in a horrible mood and acted like he was doing us a favour by giving us massages. Then took about 15 mins at front desk for them to give us a piece of paper for spa service bc he was busy stapling papers again. These are just a few examples. I’ve never encountered anything like it before. The room was very nice and we had a nice view but the service ruined the experience, so we just stayed out all day to avoid them. We went to other hotels for spa and dinner and the staff were all lovely. I’d stay in the beach area next time. Amagi Aria’s staff really ruin it for them.

4 days stay

Gym outdated, location far from Colombo but short ride from Negombo city, not a single TV to watch at the bar. Room clean but outdated, mattresses terrible. TUK TUK make it easy to move around. Breakfast average. Pool clean and warm.

Only good for 1 night. Arriving or leaving from the airport. Nice place. Nice staff. Great hotel.

Out of the way hard to find isolated place - we were here for 3 days and changed it was that bad - only stay there if you want an airport hotel - rooms basic - no bath mat - no tissues- damp musty smell - in helpful staff Once you ate there you are stuck - not in SriLanka

Very nice hotel

This hotel was clean and comfortable. It is situated nice and close to the airport which was handy for our late night arrival. The pool was very nice and staff all lovely.

There was a huge issue with early check in. The night staff were horrible and rude. The manager who I spoke to on the phone was half alseep and refused to help so we had to wait in a cafe from 3am till 8:30am until they were able to provide us with a room. I don’t normally leave bad reviews but it is important that you understand what you are booking in a foreign country. Thankfully I’m both a srilankan and a Aussie so it made it a lot easier for me to sort this out.

Loved the hotel and most of the staff just found the manager on the particular day we stayed kinda of rude otherwise the rest were good. The breakfast was ok preferred if they had more local spread , loved the pool, the view of the sea and the room, one of the best hotel i have stayed in my 10 days trip in Sri Lanka

I have paid for three nights but leaving hotel after two. More than a month I trying to change reservation but it was unsuccesfuly. It should be corect back my money for one night or get me a voucher for next reservation (same amount).Kind regards, Goran

No service

Pool boy was not in attendance ,asked three times for a towel,,and we couldn't find any either.....ordered a cold beer which sat on the bar..waiting for waiter who also was not in attendance..finally went for it my self by this time the beer was getting warm.....order lunch the waiter didn't advise us the dish we requested would take 45 minutes.which would have helped as we were very hungry...lovely lagoon but nothing else there....near airport

Weekend stay

Rooms were nice just bathrooms not as big or nice like pictures. Views ere awesome and hotel facility very clean. Love the hotel and would stay again with no problem. Room service a little slow but staff very nice. Breakfast was Ok , but they need to make sure they are ready to start on time cause visitors have scheduled tours and breakfast served 30 min late delays tour or miss breakfast.

Great place to relax after a long flight, Boeing area so glad to move after 2 nights. Service so good, clean, food good!

Beautiful location- great hotel

The road entrance to the hotel is a narrow one , which made me to feel apprehensive, but once inside the hotel campus, I was thrilled. Beautiful location and a comfortable stay. Enjoyed with my family. Very relaxing.

Amazing stay at a beautiful hotel

I got so lucky to decide to stay here on our last night before leaving Sri Lanka. We chose it because it is only 15 minutes from the Colombo airport. But wow- what a nice experience. First, we chose the highest level room- a lagoon sunset view suite- because it was only $108 with tax and all. And I was VERY pleased. It was located in the brand new part of the hotel- just 6 months old. The room was very big- I will attach pics. Living room area, HUGE closet, and big balcony overlooking the lagoon. Bed very comfortable- pillow menu if you want. High quality coconut oil toiletries. The service and staff was amazing- some of the best we experienced in all of 3 weeks we spent in Sri Lanka. The room service food was good. We visited the spa and both enjoyed our massages. My boyfriend's therapist was from the Philippines (didn't get her name) and my therapist was Rassena- so sweet and very good at her job! I would highly recommend. The manager Ashen was helpful, friendly and there when we needed anything. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone- only thing I would change is that I would stay more than 1 night!!!

Very good hotel, at very reasonable price

Exceptionally good hotel with very good attentive staff. Restaurant served excellent food. We chose to eat in the ground floor restaurant, the roof restaurant looked excellent but the air con was on full and it felt too cool for comfort. Rooms were very comfortable. Great views over the lagoon. Not sure if you could stay more than a couple of nights as poi might be limited. Great location for early flight departure from CMB.

helpful staff and tranquil environment

After I checked in, I realized that the door could not be locked. At the end, they changed the room for me. The staff was very helpful and tried to help immediately. The facility is quite well maintained except the door. Although the door for the room I stayed in could be locked, it has some damage. The hotel is next to lagoon. The environment is really tranquil if there is no group tourist. The double bed is actually a combination of 2 single beds. I don't actually like it.
