This is the second time we have stayed at Alyeska Resort. We have always enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. It has always been kept nice, and the pool was warm, which made it enjoyable during winter months. Room and hotel as a whole are clean and has a great atmosphere. We could not get TV to work in room but only stayed one night so did not push the issue. It is disappointing on how expensive the restaurants in the hotel are. We live in Anchorage area and visit Girdwood often and are aware of the price rise due to it being a little further from "town". But the restaurants inside the hotel are even MORE expensive. Took away from the convenience of having dining options, when it is cheaper to leave hotel and go out to eat.
Great facility! Dining options were great and the pool and hot tub amazing.
Seems like the rooms have been slightly updated since our last visit and the seven glaciers restaurant was delicious! Lê has so much potential can’t wait to see what all the new renovations bring!!
Property was wonderful! The rooms we had were not yet updated, but clean! The staff was so kind. We also did not spend much time in rooms except to sleep. The Nordic Spa was well worth it! We spent time there from 5pm-845pm, had a Nordic Massage as well. It started to snow large snowflakes later in the evening while sitting in the hot tub surrounded by beautiful trees. Felt surreal.
It’s a nice relaxing place to stay at
Very well set up for ski in and out. Live that they store are skies each day!
This place is amazing. The front desk was able to check us in at 9a.m. Everyone is super helpful. I love being able to go right from the resort to the mountain.
Great stay, but avoid the A Bar
This was our first stay at Alyeska. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with one exception, the A Bar/resturant atmosphere & service left a lot to be desired! We even gave it a second try! We only ordered dessert, but 30 minutes later with no dessert and no waiter returned to check on us, I informed them to cancel our order. It was super noisy both times we went and it was the middle of the week! The food at the Forte was good and so was the service!
A great destination getaway to ski Alyeska.
The property itself looks grandeous and has an amazing location on mountain. The valet staff is welcoming and most often present. Checkin was easy & finding the room was also easy. The hotel decor and room decor is quite dated and still has carpet throughout the property, which can be unknowingly dirty if not cleaned properly every few weeks. Value for stay wasn’t there, but we were happy to visit
Location was perfect. The hotel itself could use some updating
Nice old school resort with everything you need or want within the resort or close by. Very convenient for hitting the slopes (except that bunny hill lift closes early).
Beautiful spa and resort. Has everything you need for a relaxing vacation.
Dining options are very limited, roundhouse closes too early when there’s night skiing. Hotel rooms aren’t updated but they decided to update the bars and lounge area (which were completely fine) first.. Don’t waste your money
The hotel is continually updating its amenities. Perfect location and has everything you need within the hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at Aleyska Resort! We stayed for our last night in Anchorage and wish we had stayed longer. We are not skiers, but this resort offered very convenient ski in/out facilities. Onsite services were available for equipment and rental needs. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and reasonably priced. We als had a fabulous meal experience at Seven Glaciers. We hope to try the spa nex time!
No thx
Loved the scenery and overall stay with the resort
This was a very nice, peaceful and relaxing stay. The room was very clean and the staff was very courteous, polite and helpful.
Connor at check in was wonderful! Friendly, efficient, helpful. He offered a borealis wake up call. I had no idea that was even an option! He got me a lovely room with a beautiful view. Your rooms are incredible. And clean. So many lighting options. I used the spa for the outdoor hot pools and sauna and steam rooms. Expensive but worth it! What a magical night. My only complaint was my fault. I ordered some meatballs from room service and got upsold foccacia. It was not up to par with the rest of your hotel. The meatballs were very good however.
We came here to have a nice day swimming, hot tub, (see following comment), Sauna and watching the skiing. Even with the kids out of school, there was plenty of room for everyone. It was very relaxing. Our room was good as always. The only thing I saw that was not up to par was the hot tub. I heard a grandmother tell her family "This is not a swimming pool, it is a relaxing pool ". There should be a big sign put up on each entrance to the hot tub.
Breathe-takingly beautiful. I loved going up the aerial tram and having lunch at the top.
I would recommend
We spent New Year's here with my family and had a great time. I love the skiing resort and all the amenities it offers. Definitely coming back!
This is a great ski/snowboard resort yet it is a little worn out - rooms. The maid service is weak, they do not clean the rooms just supply soap and TP.
Always a wonderful when spending with grandkids
Staff was friendly and helpful
If you like a warm room, you should love this one!
The room was fine but thermostat was set at 71 with no way to change! At one point it was 78 degrees!
Room service loves to get you out right at check out even when you ask to have a late check out they are rude
Wayyyyy over priced. It’s $125 nice but not $600 nice with all added hidden fees and whatever. Foreign greed is to insane. Last time staying here unless some reality strikes with a thunderbolt.
Not my best stay
The room was not cleaned well. Many areas of carpet very dirty and not vacuumed The sofa bed still had dirty linen as the bed was not made. The bathroom was also not cleaned well. Room service seemed upset that they had to bring us another set of utensils that was forgotten by them. Just an over all disappointment.
Love staying here!
It was wonderful
Was a nice getaway
Pure Bliss
My room had a beautiful mountain side view. Booking on hotels.com was easy, affordable and quick
Perfect ski in/out place with tons of entertainmen
Second year there snowboarding, absolutely love this place!!
Great Dining and spa potions
Nice hotel, good restaurants
Alyeska is definitely paradise in Alaska.
I didn't like the old carpet and the fan didn't work in the bathroom. Trim missing on fire suppression system, very tacky.

Resort was great, but after calling, emailing, and filing a lost item report I have not heard back. It's been over 3 weeks. Hoping this review may trigger a response back?
Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
Great place to stay, for whatever you’re staying for!
Spoil yourself!!
We went on a girls bday trip and did massages and spent the day at the Nordic spa. Expensive trip but it’s nice to spoil yourself sometimes.
Beautiful resort and very friendly and caring staff! We’ve received a complementary room upgrade. Thank you!!!! The Cleaning staff was wonderful and the hotel manager Bassie rocks! The restaurants are just ok… with the exception of Sakura. Ask for Megan! She is so happy, friendly, and very informative. You will learn a lot about the local life realities and she will suggest the best dishes. We shall return …. In the summer :)
Stay was okay. For more than 300$ the beds were horrible the mini fridge was crazy loud. Shower has little pressure. And you’re paying resort prices for everything. Just stay in Anchorage. It’s a for profit resort.
Yes
Love this beautiful, serene get away!
Great location for skiers
Rooms need an upgrade. Good restaurants within the property.
For a well known ski resort, the experience was average. Upon check in, we were told we had a reservation for 2 rooms, which was weird since I booked only 1 through Expedia. Our room had broken drawers, knobs that kept falling off and a shower/tub that wasn’t draining (standing in an inch or two of water every shower). TV’s aren’t smart so you can’t stream anything and they had no HDMI cables. We struggled to get adequate supplies (TP, toiletries) on our first day and then on our last they gave us more than needed. Restaurants in the facility were ok on flavor but portion sizes were small. Our breakfast at the Forte took over 45 mins to come out and they weren’t that busy. Staff was friendly enough but whole experience was meh considering the ambiance and surroundings.
The restaurants were very good. My wife and I had a lovely stay.
Nice Building but lacking. Heat would NEVER warm room past 67 degrees. Food delivered cold in Forte restaurant-caused by waiting to deliver 1 item, all the rest was tepid. Not adequate staffing at front desk. Calling front desk with questions hit or miss. Example checkout time 11:00, why during busiest time would you have only one person who had a line. 20 minutes to checkout seems inadequate. There were other items.
Fantastic location/surroundings. Facility needs renovated/cleaned up, very tired and worn.
Need new beds. Paid 750$/night for a jr suite and the beds were jankee.
The views, customer service was excellent! We’ll be back that is certain.
Stayed for 3 days. But it rained in December. Didn’t get to do much outdoors. Enjoyed the kind staff. Very attentive to guests. I loved that they sold made local coffee (Kaladi’s) and Zip kombucha and other items. Restaurants were delicious. Bellhops were awesome. Lobby is grande. Swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and gym available and not too crowded most times. Maid service was spot on I appreciated their prompt service. Lots of activities to do if you don’t ski. Hotel furniture could use upgrade. Lobby was a bit dark. Rooms are not quite soundproof, it was a noisy hallway on 7th floor. The room refrigerator was noisy. Loved the bath towel heater in the bathroom that was a nice surprise. Dried all our ski gear. Tram to the expensive dinner had no heat, not a pleasant experience when you are dressed up ready to dine extravagantly. Room service didn’t get my food order right, I asked for a salad and received fries. BUT !! The fries were delish.
Always a great experience at the Resort. Staying and skiing is a wonderful experience for the family. We have been doing this for over 20 years. Lift ticket prices are not affordable anymore so we have to limit the number of visits.
Disappointing for the hype.
So So...
I stay at the hotel for one night, it was a business trip. Hotel rooms a bit outdated. But the scenery around the hotel is awesome.
Nice place
The staff was wonderful - from the door to check in, room service, and every server at every restaurant. Genuinely kind and friendly people. The hotel itself is in various stages of upgrade, so some areas (like the restaurants) are really lovely and new. Our suite was quite old and located beyond a stairwell, which was nice and quiet, but also we navigated past some water-damaged walls and it just looked very brown/beige and dated. It was clean and had great water pressure and all that business, so we didn’t really care, but do keep in mind that they’re phasing in new and not everything is upgraded yet. If you book a “suite” at this time, that doesn’t automatically mean fancy!
The resort was undergoing construction and maintenance. It was not clearly marked how to navigate around the construction. The elevator to the spa was not marked and my husband has mobility issues that made the icy staircase to the spa treacherous. At the spa, the steam room was closed and the pathways were equally icy. The standards did not meet the cost, and though it was a beautiful resort, it was not set up for relaxation.
Gorgeous
Luxurious hotel
Great location. Under renovation. Our ac heater didn't work but we didn't know until checkout.
It’s a beautiful town
Everything almost close
No power to portions of the resort when we were there, so linmited restaurants and no pool/hot tub. Fire alarm went off at 4am because of the power issue I assume.
Good stay. No trash can around the pool. When I ask the guy at the front desk he acted super offended. The lounge area with the fireplace was closed. And you had to walk up and down the stairs to get to the pool.
Resort is beautiful.
Good. The hotel was extra busy but we liked the sushi restaurant
Gorgeous setting
One of the nicest resorts ive stayed at. Service was amazing. The setting of the resort was breathtaking. Definitely going back.
Relaxing. Spa was fantastic.
very quiet,very clean love it
Nice place to visit
There was a lot of construction going on. But it was amazing as always
Always a good stay. All the staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable, great mountain view from our room. The pool is the best
The day we got there, we are in the dark at the restaurant, Forte. The next morning, we had to walk down 4 flights of stairs because the elevator was not working. There was a fire alarm after 4 AM. It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend. I was exhausted from this crazy experience.
The hotel was lovely. Only issue we had was the Gondola was shut down as was the restaurant at the top of the mountain. We wish that had been disclosed to us in advance. Otherwise our stay was magical.
Its always a nice place to stay. I loved the pool and the property is beautiful and i love love the spa.
Very nice place but be aware very very limited parking including Valet and there is no valet service to over flow parking which they could do. If they think its close enough for customers to walk why cant valet walk there? Over flow is not super far but when its pouring rain, dark, and cold its not close. Its also not paved so there are puddles and mud so you might want to drop your bag off at the front desk first.
Loved it!
We loved our stay in Girdwood. We made it for the last tram day of the season. Loved the view and fall weather. My favorite thing was the sauna. I took a long walk in the morning around the resort and enjoyed the lovely soaking tub. Loved our luxury stay here!
Nice stay.
Hotel is a bit worn down as is to be expected with a 30-year old ski resort. Beautiful setting.
Aleyska Resort is an amazing hotel. I've previously stayed with them twice and look forward to returning. The inside of the hotel is beautiful with amazing views of the mountains and glaciers surrounding the property. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is eager to assist, and you really feel like you've been on vacation!
Comfortable
The property is amazing. The service in the Sakura restaurant was not good. You should have a customer focus.
Is a magical place where you can rest and relax and enjoy the wonderful nature around the complex. The frozen mountains are so beautiful and the air's super clean. The staff is super nice, the two restaurants are excellent. Resuming is a wonderful place to pass your vacation.
Great stay all around
Was not impressed with the rooms. Paid over $300/night to be in an unrenovated room with heavily stained carpets and outdated decor/furniture. Ended up having to upgrade for an extra $50/night to get something renovated that didn’t smell. Even the renovated room was still tight. Separating doors touched the bed, door to the bathroom made it tight to get in and out and bathtub was too deep making it almost dangerous to get in and out. Not a great renovation but definitely more comfortable. Food onsite was good but expensive. None of the pizza was worth the price. Enjoyed the sushi restaurant best and the pool. Jacuzzi only worked one of the nights we were there. Overall not really a luxury experience for the price of the rooms.
Amazing property
Tv didn’t work. No good place for breakfast
I live fairly close by and needed to get away for the night. Could not have been happier with my overall experience. Guest service was exceptional, each member of staff I interacted with were cordial, friendly, and professional. I’d like to recognize Trent at the front desk, overall demeanor was pleasant and personable, gave me a wealth of knowledge about the history of the property, and was a real joy to speak with. He is a consummate professional and an excellent steward of guest service. The room was spectacular. I had a lovely stay and plan on retuning again.
Excellent place to stay and amazing facilities.
Loved the pool, beds were quite. Great view though expensive to take Tram. It would be better if you could get a day pass.
Wonderful stay - awesome staff and we were Blessed... We had a wonderful room great mountain views... Definitely a 5 Star rating in everything
Access to mountain trails... trail running and mountain biking
Big. Lots to do.

The pool is hidden in an awkward place.
