Great hotel and location

My wife and I stayed for 1 night and it was ideal for our city break. We wanted to enjoy the Christmas markets in Salzburg and the hotel was perfectly located for this. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, and the service provided checking in and at breakfast was excellent.

The room for four was big with lots of space. The staff was great and very helpful. This hotel is a very short walk away from the Christmas markets and the shopping. My only issue is getting to the hotel if you are in a car. You have to put up to a barricade system, push a button with Weisse Taube written next to it. I was looking for "ALTSTADTHOTEL" and not "Weisse Taube". When you hit the button they give you a 7 digit code to enter that lowers the barricade system and you drive into the city. This code changes every hour. You drive down some narrow roads to the hotel and park the best you can to unload. Then you check in and have to drive your car back outside of the downtown area using that code to get past another barricade system. You circle the block coming back to the area of the original barricade system and they have a parking garage on your right. The parking garage is not for the faint of heart... it's TIGHT. You get parked and then walk the 10 minutes back to the hotel. Checking out is the same process to get your car back to the hotel to load back up. The location of this hotel makes it all worth it. You care 150-200 feet from the start of the Christmas Markets and shops.

The central and lovely location was fantastic. Close to the fortress, cathedrals, shopping, restaurants, and more. Hotel was clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Heidi, Marie, Isobel, Shaymon, and all were so welcoming and provided excellent service. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in beautiful Salzburg!

Wonderful Gem in the Old Town

Great location, on quiet street near center of the old town. Large rooms. Clean. Quiet. Modernized but still charming. Conveniently located next door to the best restaurant I know, Zwettler’s. Near other restaurants and bus stops, and the funicular up to the top of the Festung.

Wonderful for a stay in Salzburg

A charming hotel in the midst of old town Salzburg. Close to a number of attractions. Rooms are large and comfortable, and the hotel layout is fascinating— it’s obviously a very old building that’s seen a lot of different uses over the years. Friendly personnel.

Great location near the fortress and cathedral. Room was very small.

Our room was on the top floor. It is a walk up as the elevator only reaches fourth floor. View was of the building behind and the mountaintops. Very touristy area. Showering resulted in A LOT of water leaking out onto floor due to shower door and high pressure water. Clean and comfortable room. No A/C but floor fan provided.

We reserved a room with 3 twin beds, but got a room with a single twin and a king bed. Hotels in Europe don't seem to believe in top sheets, but give each bed a separate duvet, which we could not use because the room was so hot. We had to ask for top sheets for each bed. Also they don't believe in washcloths in the bathrooms. It was so hot in the room that we had to leave the windows wide open to the public street ( no air conditioning, just fans), so had to listen to noise and have street lights pouring into the room all night. There were very few outlets and we had to unplug the TV in order to plug a fan in where it would reach the twin bed. Mattresses had foam toppers so were pretty comfortable. Good food at the breakfast buffet. Woman at the desk was very kind and very helpful and seems to be wearing many hats. She did check in and check out and housekeeping as well.

I really enjoyed the location of the hotel. Very close to everything. The room was quite nice and had a lot of space in it. The staff was very friendly and kind and really did a lot to explain what was happening in the city over the couple of days we were around.

We absolutely loved to the location of the "white dove". Our room was clean and very well appointed. The cleaning and servicing of the room was always spot on. Note that the hotel does not have air conditioning. We were there in June and at times it could be a little warm. But, I think most hotels in Germany don't really crank the air conditioning. It's just a thing. We also did not get the buffet breakfast. It was extremely pricey for what it was. There was construction going on around the hotel, but the front desk had codes that allowed us to bring our car out in front of it, unload bags, and then park the car in the parking deck. Lastly, the young lady who check to send was superb. You could tell she was willing to do anything to make our stay more comfortable. I appreciated her friendliness and her willingness to help us with whatever we asked. I would definitely stay here again (but probably not in July or August). The location, the room servicing, and the friendliness of the check in staff were all top-notch.

Reception staff was extremely helpful with information and sites to see. We had a lovely room with bright and clean bathroom. We did not have the breakfast option. Would definitely stay again as close to everything

Great Place to Stay

Nice room, comfy bed. The only real issue was no AC and room overlooked a noisy courtyard. So opening the window meant a lot of noise was coming into the room. But it was still a great place to stay and I would book again.

Very comfortable and convenient

While it was tricky for the Uber driver to get to the location, it was a very convenient location, close to dining and shopping and the fortress, which was what we wanted. Very friendly and helpful staff. Most spacious room we had on our trip that spanned five countries! Quiet location, comfortable bed. Enjoyed the stay thoroughly and would love to go back!

Hotel and staff are nice. They say they have parking. There is public parking and you pay for it.

The front desk where so helpful and consider

Very cool place, location was excellent, parking was ridiculous!!! Had to drop luggage and park 10 minutes away, however I was able to enter the square but unable to leave. So I parked illegally for free but what a cluster, not sleeping for fear of being towed!!! Fine stay other than crazy parking issue.

Unfortunately when we visited there was a lot of construction going on, so it wasn’t very quiet and the hot water wasn’t working in the morning of our departure. Without the construction noise it was quiet at night, and the room was comfortable and clean.

Very good hotel I can recommend for everyone

A quiet, clean, and pretty place. Conveniently located near the main squares of Salzburg, and near transportation. Staff is super easy to communicate with. Some facilities were not cleaned/maintained properly (hair in shower, unusual continuous creaking of floors/pipes, unwashed kettle). But nothing concerning enough to not recommend this place. Great stay for the value!

GREAT LOCATION AND NICE STAFF. OUR ROOM WAS VERY SMALL. MOST ROOMS ARE BIGGER.

Hotel staff were nice. But the stay left us feeling uneasy. Facing the shower was a hole in the wall which we blocked with a towel. The next day we had put a do not disturb sign up while away and came back to that sign being back in our room and the room being cleaned. That itself made us feel uneasy as we had left out some of our belongings we would’ve put away otherwise. They also removed the covering of the hole which again left us feeling uneasy. Overall the hotel is in a good location but recommend being vigilant when inspecting the space.

Had a great stay

This property is a 10 star gem in Salzburg! It’s located on a pedestrian street, so parking is about a 5 min walk, but you can get into the street for loading and unloading with a code from the hotel. It’s in the heart of the town, so close to sights, shopping and eating. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were smallish but comfortable. But what really made this hotel special was the staff. They were extremely pleasant and friendly, went out of their way to be helpful to even the most unpleasant of clients. When they noticed I wasn’t using the duvet because it was too hot, they brought a sheet to our room. They helped with directions and where to find the sights. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

We have only positive things to say about this place ! The location, right by Mozartplatz, was the BEST for walking all over Alstadt. The room itself was large and had wonderful shelves all around for handy storage and a big closet and lots of hooks. Fabulous restaurant right next door too. Best room and best location we have experienced yet in 5 weeks in Europe. Decent price but breakfast was too expensive. Coffee in the lobby would have been great too. Overall 10/10.

Just an absolutely perfect place to stay in Salzburg. Very good value for money. Our receptionist Maria was the epitome of friendliness, warm welcomes, and passion for her hotel, city and country. Hope and pray you get a chance to meet her when you stay there.

Great Hotel, Great Location, Don't try to Drive.

Hotel is in a great location and perfect for a first trip to Salzburg. One caution if you are driving you cannot enter the area of the hotel unless you push a button at the bollards near by. We had no idea and then started pushing the button, labeled for the hotel, and no one answered the phone to allow the bollards to lower. Finally a taxi did it for us. When we were checking in we mentioned no one was answering and the desk agent said she "was on the phone with a customer and couldn't answer" other than that, we would highly recommend the hotel.

It was easy to walk to everything

Staff super friendly and helped me through check in for my entire family (I arrived early and solo with 5 people’s luggage). Front desk printed train tickets for me and very helpful in arranging multiple taxis to train station. This is a hotel in an old section of the city and in a historical building so rooms will look and feel accordingly. Rooms are very clean and can’t beat the location and price.

The property was in an excellent location. Super walkable to all major attractions and lots of restaurants near by. The room had good storage but no air conditioning. It wasn’t even that hot out but the room was stuffy and we couldn’t open the window at night of our stay because it was too noisy. The floor was gritty the second night which led us to believe the floor wasn’t swept/vacuumed that day.

It’s not a 4 star or any star property. Besides the location there’s nothing else to give marks on . The rooms are dark and no air conditioning. They don’t clean the floors and didn’t replace used coffee mugs. Staff has take ig or leave it attitude.

Great location in the old town, maybe 5 minutes ‘ walk from the cathedral. Helpful staff. Room not large and no aircon, but clean and the fan worked fine. Nice shower. Breakfast would have been extra for us (and pricy, as seems usual), but there’s a nice bakery just round the corner.

Very central location. Hotel is great but rooms are small, really small. We had a two bed room and besides a couple carry on bags there really isn’t much room for more so be aware of you have big check in suitcases. Shower is also small. It’s all doable but if your expecting/needing more area in the room, consider elsewhere. Also elevator only runs to 4th floor not to the 5th.

I have one major problem with this hotel: there is no elevator to the 5th floor-- this means that guests must carry their own (heavy) baggage up a steep flight of stairs. There are no hotel staff to help. This is dangerous, especially for elders and children. As a result, I would rate this a 3 star hotel, clearly not a 4 star hotel.

Absolutely fantastic location. Was told there was air conditioning, which wasn't the case, it was only a fan. It was very warm weather and made sleeping difficult. Especially if using the shower which only warmed the room more.

We only stayed 1 night in Salzburg and the hotel was very accommodating with bag drop off at 9:30am prior to check in and also on departure. It was a particular hot night the night we stayed and no airconditioning was a shick however the fan did its best to keep us comfortable, however I believe no airconditioning is standard in this area.

Central location made walking the town a pleasure. Great stay and very nice staff. Breakfast was also very satisfying.

Great property located in the middle of art, museums, monuments and historic buildings. Staff very friendly and accommodating! A car park garage is necessary if you are driving as the streets here are pedestrian friendly and limited traffic is controlled by coded bollard. No big deal as the result is lots of walking without the traffic!

Excellent hotel with very comfortable rooms and an easy, convenient location. Breakfast looked good, but was too expensive for our family of 4; but there is a grocery store close by that suited our needs.

Loved this hotel! Very clean, large family room with large bathroom. Breakfast was great too. Parking drop off was kind of a pain but not a deal breaker.

Room is small but average sized for a central location in a European city. The room was clean and quiet but not well set-out in relation to furniture and lighting. Staff at the front desk and breakfast were friendly and helpful. Elevator is small so had to go up one person at a time with the luggage when arriving and leaving. One issue we had was cleaning staff coming in to the room even when the Do not disturb sign was on the door - we were there at the time. The staff insisted on coming in even when they saw us sitting on the bed. This just shouldn't happen. The other issue we had was the shower was difficult to use. A shower in the bathtub is fine as long as you can direct the water to stand under to have a decent shower. This one had the shower head on the side wall so you couldn't stand under the water. I would look for another place to stay if coming to Salzburg in the future.

This is a 3-star hotel at best. The 5th floor rooms are in the laundry area and don’t have a lift (stairs from 4th). No assistance offered with suitcases. The whole property lacks retouching of painting and changing of stained carpets. The whole morning the property looks chaotic with piles of sheets and towels everywhere

This hotel was in the middle of Old Town (Altstadt) and was located in an fantastic spot to go to the Christmas Market. The hotel staff was super nice. To get to the hotel, you have to have a code to get into the area where the hotel is located. You can go to the barriers and get the hotel to "buzz" you in, but if you are not prepared for this, it is very confusing (this was us). Parking is off site, but not a far distance once you know what you are doing. The area around this beautiful hotel was simply stunning!

Clean and quaint hotel in a fantastic location in old town. Leaving the hotel and going in any direction will provide you with memorable sights of Salzburg, very near to Dom. Public transit is less than 200m away, as is the fortress.

Incredibly well located near Mozart square. I would stay there again. The rooms were small but renovated. Hotel was clean. Staff were friendly enough. We didn’t add the breakfast but it was available.

Room was very large with two bathrooms. Perfect for the three of us. Super clean. Only issue is the hotel didn’t have hot water for approx the last 12 hours of our stay. Would stay again due to the cleanliness and size of room.

This is a terrible hotel. It is advertised as 4 star and I paid $400. Rip-off. There is no air conditioning. Breakfast was awful. Front desk lady was terrible and impolite. Only good thing about this hotel is it's location. Not even worth one star.

We loved our stay here! We had a two bedroom suite and the accommodations were lovely. There is no A/C but they provide large fans and we found it relatively comfortable with the windows open. Great location.

Wonderful small boutique hotel in the Old City. It is surrounded by dozens of excellent restaurants and all the city’s historic sites are close. I would gladly return.

The location right in old town was perfect for walking, dining and other activities. The rooms were spacious for Europe and the beds comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom, however, was poorly designed. The shower head was placed on the side of the bathtub instead of at the end and the tub was narrow so it made it very uncomfortable to shower. Also, there was not nearly enough counter space to spread out your toiletries in the bathroom. Also, we got a room with virtually no view.

The hotel’s location is unbeatable. Park hot car in a parking garage a few hundred yards away at a discounted rate of 21 Euros per day and start exploring the city by foot. There are plenty of restaurants nearby incl a few literally around the corner for a night cap. Staff is super friendly. Breakfast has a nice variety of breads and rolls and tastes great. The hotel goes back to the 16th century and the composer of silent night was supposedly born here, too. The city of Salzburg is an absolute beauty and the views from the fortress are breathtaking.

It was very centrally located in Old Town and lots of good eating places nearby. It was really nice to borrow an umbrella for the rain/snow we encountered there.

I’ve never visited Salzburg before, and don’t speak the language. During my stay the staff left at 2 pm and was not available for ANY assistance. You were on your own. Very disappointing.

A cozy and convenient dovecote.

Each of my stays here over the years has been really wonderful. The reception and other staff are always warm, welcoming and helpful, and that sets the tone from first walking in the door. A great addition has been the cooler of drinks available for purchase in the lobby 24/7. The rooms are fairly small, but always immaculate and very comfortable, and the Hotel is in a great location for exploring this beautiful and very walkable city on foot.

Staff were amazingly friendly and the rooms were modern and spotlessly clean.

Excellent location with recommended restaurants within 2 mins walk on the same street. The staff was very friendly and easygoing. No hotel site parking, they suggest several public parkings and give a discount to guests. No minibar/fridge in the room. Breakfast selection was average, nothing great to be honest.
