Great backyard with lovely spa

The motel is in excellent condition. We enjoyed our stay. We had a sound sleep. Enjoyed our hot bath. Highly recommended. Great for family of four.

Was a great room, clean and the bed was super comfortable. The tub was good and the pool too but was closed for one day for cleaning. Kitchenette is so handy, and ensuite. BBq area was great too but too many rules, especially during summer and couldnt sit and talk after 9pm. No spa after 10pm, no swimming after 7pm, security every night. Would still go back if security didn't go past every half hour lol. Nice staff. We had police around one day for strange groups on the property, scared some families with small tamariki.

I loved that our parking was right outside our room. It was also really great to have a spa just for our room. There was only one issue with our stay and that was that the air conditioning was broken. To be fair we didn't end up saying anything as we were in and out of our room and by the time we came back to the room at night we couldn't be bothered.

We stayed for 3 nights and first day room is dirty then next day room make up team just did only bed not even done floor vacuum, bathroom cleaning, used facial towels then we talk with reception and he said “we have vacuum cleaner if you want

The room smells like smokers have been in it, TV remote not working, door handles scungey, kind of an unclean/gross feeling.

The room was pretty run down. It was clean, but had cracks in walls and ceilings. I wouldn't stay again.

Clean and tidy but in need of an upgrade/maintenance. Spa pool is just a big bath, no jets just a tap for filling, cooking hotplate ripped out and replaced with cheap, rusty Warehouse model. Otherwise ok

Nice place perfect layout of the room and the spa was awesome. Heat pump didn't work that was our only concern. Ave very clean.

The bathroom was well set out, comfortable beds and security windows that allow windows to be open for fresh air. The pool is very small for the number of units, didn't allow for any room to actually swim. The outdoor spa was very tired looking and not safe for elderly patrons getting in and out.

Great location. my unit had a private outside spa pool. I had left an item behind and they made every effort to return it to me

Top motel!

Well laid out motel, very spacious which is a good feature of slightly older motels. Very well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Good location for accessing cycle trails. Excellent parking, sheltered and right at front door. Will stay at Alpin again on future cycle trips.

This property is a 1 star at best, there is no aircon. Staff where quite short. Needs a make over

Enjoyed 3 nights whilst at Rotorua. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Our rooms were large and comfortable with excellent amenities available including laundry and BBQ's.The hot-tubs were old but large and plenty of thermal heated water. The hotel is close to many of the areas of interest.

The layout of the room was great for us. Bathroom is dated and the shower head didn't stay in the position you wanted it, toilet door was hard to shut. Tv didn't have many channels working, and the picture on tv wasn't great. Otherwise the property was ok, and served for what we needed.

The stay was during a full house time. Our unit was facing the main road and on Monday morning the noise from trucks etc was very high. On departure when mentioning that to the manager he stated that it pays to book early to get a rear unit.

Satellite TV channels are very limited. Children felt bored .

This motel is a great place to stay. The room arrangement for our family of four was really good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The provision of towels to the room is however is rather stingy (one really small towel per person per day).

Personal hot tub was great. Walking distance to the Redwoods & Living village.

The property is a little dated, but everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. We found it perfect for a family with a separate bedroom so the kids could go to bed and we still had use of the main space with another queen bed. When the main pool was full, we were able to fill the private spa and the kids splashed in there happy as could be.

Units were spacious - one separate bedroom and studio set up in lounge (bed, kitchenette, dining table, lounge chairs, and one bathroom. Ideal set up for our three families. Good parking at front of units, and private spa pools at rear, which open onto enclosed garden and swimming pool area. Property is showing its age a bit, but is well maintained, and the owners were quick to assist in any way they could.

second time here, the aircon was out of service (we only found out once we got to the room but the place was fully booked so no point asking for a room change) the rooms are a good size

Lovely place to stay, the room is clean and the beds are very nice very clean great services especially from reception. We stayed here for 2 nights great value for money, would definitely we will come back next time .kids enjoyed the heated pool I would recommend this place to stay.

Our Favorite Motel in New Zealand

The Alpin Motel was like a home away from home. They had everything we needed in the room. The breakfast was amazing and allowed us to try common NZ foods. The couple that ran the hotel were so nice. It's location was just a couple of blocks from the Whakarewarewa Living Maori Village, and there's a good bakery nearby.

Got a very large room that can accomodate for 6 people, also come with a private geothermal pool although we did not have time to try it. Room do not have ac, it is okay when we can when temperature around 18-26C. Room is clean. Thumbs up to friendly couple who manage the establishment.

Absolutely amazing, so glad we stayed here! Only issue was with the water pressure in the shower but that was manageable. Loved it!

It's old but well cared for. The tubs out the back are divine! The lady working in reception is lovely and a great guide.

The reception was very helpful and friendly. However the bed was so hard I ended up sleeping on the terrible bed/couch in the lounge area. The kitchen area was very small and outdated. The fridge froze everything in it solid. The shower barely had water coming out at all. The hot tub tap ran constantly & and although there was evidence that a hair dryer was meant to be there, it actually was nowhere to be found. The owners need to update the place. Also, perhaps they shld try out their rooms themselves occasionally just to see what it’s likd for the client.

I liked the spa pool & the price to stay (100) for a quick get away. Had all the basics, would stay again.

Staff was not at all welcoming especially reception lady. They were rude. Old property, small kitchen, dirty utensils, brokem airconditioning. The staff member was at the door at 10:13 am for the heckout.

Loved the private, geothermally heated outdoor spa and the very accommodating and friendly staff.

Great place to stay, clean and tidy! It may be close to the main road but the traffic noise is not noticeable.

It was overall good. The room was clean and well maintained. A bit of the downside was cold room and noise from the neighbors. We could manage the cold by using another heater provided in the room on top of the wall heaters. The usage of the outdoor spa by next door guests including kids (who were screaming) at night past 9 PM was causing a lot of noise and disrupting our sleep.

Every thing about the motel was great. Thoughrouly enjoyed our stay. We were greated with a smile nd looked after. Would reckomend this Motel to stay. Was very quiet comfortable nd relaxing. Very happy. :-))

Generally good, but was surprised that our room had not been cleaned after our first night. We were told that we needed to put the sign on our door before 10am. This was stated in the information sheet but we were travelling with a year old and we didnt read it. We also wanted to order breakfast but were told that 7.30pm was the cutoff , this was at 7.45pm. I feel a little more flexibility from the hotel would have been good.

Your own private pool is always lovely. Beds are really comfortable and room is always cosy and ready for you. We have stayed every year for the last 7 years!

Hot tub was a good way to relax at the end of the day. The room was reasonably tidy, some general fix ups are needed though. Check in and out was easy.

Thank you for accommodating an extra night for us. Tidy and good location. Beds a little hard, shame that there are no heated towel rail in bathroom when you have a great hot tub, for dying towels.

I liked that you had your own hot tub and that the common outdoor pool was heated.The beds were comfy and had clean white sheets.

Relaxing stay

We love the private hot pool you can have at your desired temperature - it was even lovely in the rain!!

Loved the hot tub. Two TV's, one in the living room, one in the bedroom. Staff very friendly, even lent me a clothes rack to dry some washing. Thanks!

Great hotel with excellent amentities. Separate room for the kids is a massive plus and having the spa down at the parents end of the room makes keeping an eye on the kids a breeze.

A good motel just a short drive from town . Its on a busy road but we still got a good nights sleep .Check in and out went smoothly . Hot plate in kitchen didn't work very well .Cost per night was right for this property .will be back .

The owners were very helpful and pleasant, stayed for work and then re booked a week later for pleasure.

Good value, clean, a little worn in places but very reasonable for the price and large one bedroom unit with very clean kitchenette.

It was clean and tidy. Loved the warm pool. Great layout of the rooms, economical with space, yet everything was provided. The courtyard spa bath was great too - a home away from home. If I have to find something negative it would be the building could do with a little updating, but that didn't interfere with our holiday.

Really pleasant and helpful staff. Very good meals in restaurant. Comfortable room with great views over the area. Lovely area for walking.

The pool and spa were excellent, staff were friendly. The bed was very hard otherwise everything else met our expectations.

Lovely location away from the centre but only a couple of minutes drive to get to everything. The grounds are lovely. Room was spotless and clean, comfy bed.

We like thé comfort of the apartment, the swimmming pool, the kindness of the staff but we don’t like the noise of the road near the motel.

Good times at the alpine motel!

Tinica was awesome, she gave me so much good advice when I checked in and went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed and more. I soaked in the patio tub every evening with wine and every morning with coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by how great this spot was.

We had a great stay. Rooms are big and clean and staff is friendly. Pool was fun for the kids. Would definitely come back

I am the corner unit next to the road. Traffic noise can be heard throughout the night for those who slept in the living room. Was quite surprised that the bed in the bedroom wasn’t make up next morning. The reason given was that the chambermaid did not want to move our luggages next to the bed.

Very pleased with this accommodation that had everything you could want. Reception very helpful with a booking error and provision of fresh milk and bubbles. Spacious comfortable, clean 2 room apartment with all you need in the kitchenette, plenty of towels etc. How amaxmzing to have our own private thermal jacuzzi and resfreshing bigger pool. Wish we could have stayed longer

Centrally located for local attractions. Clean and with nice swimming pool available, but hot tubs are not what expected and did not use.

The property was a surprise we didn’t expect much for the price but they had thought of everything and the owners were very accommodating. Would highly recommend this property to families looking for enough space for everyone.

Rooms well equipted, nice pool area easily accessible. Only concern was the sloping floor at the bathroom door, my husband slipped on it after a shower

Professional and friendly service.

Staff are nice, friendly and tolerant! We had an incident, one of our children vomited in the pool. They handled the matter in a really professional manner! Sorry for the hassles and thanks for your service! Highly recommended and will definitely be back the next time we visit Rotorua.
