Overall the hotel was an excellent experience. It was close to the train which made traveling into the city easier. It is far out from most London restaurants but again the train being so close made it easy to get around. The staff was always available to assist with anything when needed. The bar however was closed during our stay but luckily the restaurant was open with a bar.
Excellent location and great service
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great facilities and food and drink. Modern, comfortable bedroom. We would have liked a door on the washroom area.
★★★★★ Great Stay, Highly Recommend! Loved my stay at Aloft London Excel! Spacious, modern rooms, fantastic staff, and great amenities like the pool and gym. Perfect location for Excel events and easy transport links. A few minor areas for improvement, but overall, a top-notch stay—would definitely return!
Great location and service
Hotel is in very convenient location, walking distance from Elizabeth line / DLR. Breakfast was very good as well. Hotel staff was very helpful and nice.
Convenient location with plenty of parking at a fair rate (discounted via the hotel) clean and modern hotel with great facilities. Would recommend and will booking again.
We stayed here for the location primarily, as we needed access to the Excel Exhibition center. While it is connected as advertised, it's not a covered pathway. So if it's raining you will need an umbrella for the short walk. Other than location, we found our stay lacking in many areas for a four star property. The biggest issue was with the temperature control. We had two rooms on the sixth floor, we had to call the service engineer several times to fix the air conditioning. The room would get hot and stuffy and it would take hours to cool down. Toiletries like body lotion had to be asked for from housekeeping. Due to the Pokemon convention, the bar area was full of noisy rambunctious children as late as mid night. The hotel staff made no effort to ensure the other guests weren't disturbed by this. One of the bartenders was rude and condescending during a brief conversation. Food from the dockyard restaurant was also underwhelming. Overall, we won't be staying here for the next convention as there are hotels nearby that provide better value for money.
Very close to the Excel. So convenient
All fine, except lighting in the room and the bed. The former too bright. The latter gave me shoulder pain.
Facilities not great but everything else ok
Staff were friendly and the room was clean but the pool was not in working order for half the trip and then when it was it became apparent it was an unheated pool (unadvertised) so not suitable for kids. Also the restaurant has a limited vegan menu
Its not too bad
Great staff at front fest bars and restaurants. Pool area was closed which was disappointing for our valentine's getaway, Room had no heating it was very cold, thanks to the night team for bringing us a heater. Very good sleep, bed was comfortable 😴 Food I think is expensive, no Netflix on the TV.
Great clean hotel and handy location for Stratford Westfield and O2. Easy to get into town too. Friendly staff. Great Breakfast. Bar and dining room slightly cool in temperature. Pool and gym great.
Restaurant food was amazing staff was amazing overall lovely hotel
Perfect hotel if you’re going to Excel Centre.
The staff was very helpful and accomadating, rooms were quiet and breakfast was pretty good.
Very good service accommodation excellant Thank you
The pool was good as was the room layout No dislikes
Very spacious and comfortable room
Amazing stay, the staff are superb and the hotel is lovely
Stay 28/29January 2025
Lovely hotel. dinner in the restaurant Excell food and great and helpful service.Went to a 2 day conference in the adjacent Excel exhibition centre. Loved the fact I could leave the luggage there after
Aloft and a trip to the O2
I use the Aloft whenever in the area. So handy for my trip to the O2, and other hotels closer were up to 4x the price.
Really enjoyed it
Staff were extremely helpful and the hotel itself was a blast to stay at
Will stay again
Great hotel in good location for what needed. friendly staff
My go to hotel from now on. Friendly staff, and very clean!
5* Hotel
Hotel was amazing. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Will definitely recommend and be back.
Great Hotel & Location for Excel
Check in was efficient and we were greeted by Redz who was very welcoming and made us feel very welcome and appreciated. Room was good, clean and spacious. If I had one issue I found the bed a little hard and uncomfortable and the two nights I didn’t sleep too good. We ate one night in the restaurant, we were served by Alex who again offered us excellent service. We did have a few issues with the food being cold and Alex did his best to rectify this. It was a great location to stay for Excel and although we have mentioned a few issues we would recommend the hotel and would choose to stay again.
Room was lovely with comfy beds and good amenities. Staff friendly and helpful. Commendations go to Alex in the restaurant.
Loved my stay so I had to stay an extra day
Aloft London Excel
The entire staff was very pleasant and courteous and extremely helpful. I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future.
I had a wonderful stay at the Aloft London Excel this weekend while working at RuPaul's DragCon. The hotel was perfectly located for the ExCel centre with plenty of transport options nearby. I dined in the hotel on Friday evening and had a lovely meal. The staff couldn't do enough for you. I was especially thankful to the member of staff who was on reception on Friday morning for allowing me to check-in early when I asked to leave my suitcase. This was hugely appreciated. I'll look forward to staying here again in the future.
.
Had an excellent stay. The facilities and room size plus the price, 10 mins from the city center of London was well worth it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be using this hotel again.
Excellent hotel
Excellent hotel, a real taste of luxury. The bed was huge, breakfast was brilliant and the staff were all so helpful. Looking forward to staying again next time I'm in London.
Comfortable room with good facilities.Being able to use the swimming pool, sauna, steam room was great.Staff friendly and helpful.
We liked that the suite room has lots of space, and it's as if it has two rooms and it has 2 bathrooms. The extra space and available storage closets was great too. Loved that the shower was walk in, every other hotel we stayed at had a high tub to get in. Only thing to keep in mind is the hotel is far from everything, but the train station is like a 3 minute walk.
Good hotel. Excellent for Excel
Stylish, clean and quiet room with a large bed. Liked the room layout and utilities. Wish we could turn the light off in the tea/coffee area as this affected our sleep a bit. Internet TV and room wi-fi did not work for us.
Excellent
Clean , neat hotel The only downside is the staff at reception could have been more friendly. We had to ask for help to take our luggage. If we have not asked, the staff would not care as they were just looking at us. Customer service side was lacking. However the lads that helped us to get our luggage downstairs ( not front desk) were very helpful and friendly
Pool open late
This hotel was great! The indoor swimming pool stays open until 11 pm and they provide robes for the pool upon request. The pool area is nice and warm. The hotel and room was clean. I wish it was closer to Heathrow though. It is right at the District Line, so it is conveniently located for the tube.
Close to horse show and inside pool
Great hotel
Perfect
Excellent room
do not feel warming
Good stay on the whole.
Good stay only thing that could have been better was breakfast could have been hotter, toaster in wrong position as if you just wanted toast had to wait in queue. Also very thin bread for toast. No cranberry juice.
Good Stay
Super friendly and helpful staff Spacious room and dog friendly, great breakfast
Nice hotel, great location for the Excel
Nice hotel, great location for the Excel
Lots of work going on. Poor
Okay but attention to detail missing
Nice hotel, let down by some details. Charging £20 for parking is a bit much and a further £25 “which will be returned in a few days” wasn’t a great start. I get taking card details, but shouldn’t be taking money… Room was spacious and clean, but no power point by a mirror for my wife to do her hair. I went for a swim, and the first changing booth didn’t have a lock on it. Went to do a timed swim so checked the clock when I set off. Swam some lengths and checked the clock which hadn’t moved - clearly the battery had run out and not been replaced. The little things make the difference between average and good…
Clean, nice hotel
What a great property and staff. Well Done
I love the Aloft Hotel London transportation to Heathrow Airport and other places, it was very convenient but the only thing l didn't really like was their gym. The gym is not spacious and they don’t have enough equipments in there that’s all.
First time staying at this hotel. We had a spacious room (although it was the disabled room), it was clean and the bed was really comfortable. Food in the bar was also really good.
Excellent and friendly customer service! Easy check in and they provided extra assistance with a nice cup of coffee after an overnight flight. I would be very happy to stay here again!
O2 Visit
We were visiting the O2, even though this hotel is next to The Excel it is also a great location for the O2. Easy access to the Cable Car across the Thames (2 stops on the DLR) or a couple of stops on the tube/DLR.
Pillows were too flat and old. Lights wouldnt turn off at night.
Convenient for Excel
Decent sized room. Quiet location. Friendly staff. Very convenient to Excel and the DLR. Pillows on the bed were flat and very uncomfortable. Weird lighting in room. Could not find a switch to turn the lighting off over the coffee making station in room which was annoying when we went to sleep. Really appreciated the gym, pool and sauna facilities. Two days there were mum and baby classes going on in pool - which was a bit of a squeeze, but they were friendly enough. Just something to be aware of if you're planning a day time swim.
Really enjoyed my stay Big spacious room Time in the pool Friendly staff The only thing was the heating was a bit tricky to turn down
Really lovely hotel, staff friendly, Tv wouldn’t connect to my devices is my only negative
Great stay. Hotel staff were great and a great location near to the Elizabeth Line
Excellent spacious room, quiet, comfy bed, excellent bathroom
Excellent
Very clean, modern, and comfortable. The king-sized bed had beautiful crisp white sheets and was very comfortable. I came her for the pool and sauna which my child loved. The room has tea and coffee. We got robes ans slippers on request plus a toorh brush kit. The snack bar and restaurant are very convenient. I recommend the hot chocolate from the snack area. Its a good price for London and close to the DLR. So its easy to get to anywhere central in London. There are some works going on at the Excel but that didnt bother us. The TV in the room is large. The air con and heating very efficient. They also have a bar area with table top games. The staff are friendly and professional. A fun thing to do in the half term break.
Hotel was good, room was okay for comfort but we didn’t sleep hardly due to air conditioning not working. There were No windows to open so this made it worse. We were out all day back late each evening so to late to call reception.
Helpful and freindly staff felt always welcome,
Hotel was lovely quiet and child friendly
We exhibited at ExCeL and there were a lot of build works in the immediate area but no consequent noise. The hotel was extremely clean and well kept. The staff exceptionally friendly and the whole stay outstanding. One solitary issue was the very highly-priced Chardonnay (two large almost equalled our two main courses) so I'd suggest caution at the bar. Still totally worth it and will definitely stay again.
Easy !
Easily accessible for excel. Friendly staff
A Nice Stay In A Quiet Hotel
This was a lovely hotel, reception staff were very nice and helpful. Food was good, but restaurant staff kept forgetting what we asked for. Would have been nice to know building works were going on.
Very difficult to find from railway. Needs more signs .
Easy check in and lovely room. Will definitely stay here again.
Great location for excel
If you have a conference or working at the excel it’s the best possible choice as it’s connected to the building
Excellent service from front desk employee redx
Second time staying here, even more pleasant than the first.
Great located hotel in London Excel
Excellent located hotel in excel. Great of you are attending excel conference or forums. Near DLR. offers parking too. Which is amazing in London. However, like before the room’s thermostat was off set and continued to throw cold air. This I experienced in my previous stay too. The thermostat is limited in its settings and cold air fan automatically switches on even when you try to increase room temperature
Great stay and location. Would book again.
Awful matters
I had a back sore after a night sleep and during the weekend as kids next to our room who were making awful noise couldn’t sleep well there. Otherwise, breakfast was the main high light of the hotel.
Fantastic location Fantastic rooms really pleased would stay here again
Beautiful hotel and great location. Lovely breakfast too.
"Mr. Reds at the reception provided excellent service and even assisted with an early check-in. We will definitely stay again."
Modern, clean but standard stay.
It was a clean, tidy and modern hotel. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room on the 8th floor overlooking the trainline and London. Be aware there is building work going on surrounding the hotel which now restricts views and accessibility. The bed was huge and comfortable (but rather warm!) Facilities were clean with everything there and working. Our room was quiet as we were away from the lifts and ground floor. We didn't need to have our room cleaned but the staff were friendly and everything looked tidy. Breakfast was good. Better on our first morning as the second was busy and some items ran out. The restaurant was also quite noisy but we found a less busy spot. A mix of visitors, business, couples, friends and family etc. One downside was the pool area.( We had booked this hotel in part because of it's pool. ) It is a small pool with swimming lessons taking part every morning. Many children in and out, families stood watching and noise and commotion in the pool area. Access to the sauna and steam room is restricted to certain times too. I'd advise checking as no information on the website. Very handy for the train in and out with a few changes.
Great hotel spot for excel neighborhood
Fabulous Aloft Hotel
Aloft House next to the Excel is a great place to stay if you want to explore London. Right next to the DLR line and the Elizabeth Line just a short walk away. The hotel has good size rooms, which are modern and clean. Great restaurant and bar with a great selection at reasonable prices. If you opt for breakfast included, there is a great selection of food that caters for everyone Staff are very attentive and provided great customer service
Great staff. The room was beautiful and well equipped, only downfall for us was the AC, it was not getting hot, it constantly felt like it was blowing cold air and it was quite a chilly weekend. Everything else was good.
Go anywhere else
Didnt give us the kingsize bedroom we paid for. Downgraded us to two single beds. Very unimpressed that they gave away a bedroom we paid for ages ago and then have the gaul to downgrade us. On top of that had to remind breakfast staff several times to give us fried eggs. Wont be staying here again.
could not really fault it, great stay
Great location right next to the excel and also prince Regent DLR station is only 2 mins walk, staff were great, hotel was quiet and spotless will def stay there again
Overnight stay.
Very clean and comfortable stay.
Despite the lovely staff and lovely venue I was terribly disappointed with this stay, when I arrived I was greeted with construction work that I had zero warning of otherwise I would not have booked My room was a nice size, on the second floor My windows were facing a brick wall and construction work vehicles which was depressing within itself I could have stayed and got over all of that, but the thing that ruined it all until the point I had to check out was The whole corridor stank to high heavens of paint and cannabis To the point I actually threw up and had to leave at 2am in the morning I don’t know what type of paint was being used but it I do know they were painting the restaurant area My room was near enough on the other end of the hotel and it’s all I could smell until I left Also, I & my wife was unable to use any facilities as it was full of single men drinking and laughing It was a very uncomfortable experience walking into the swimming area and me and my other half had to leave as there wasn’t anywhere for us to relax
This Hotel is just very nice My son loved the swimming pool warm water I definitely recommend this place for any occasion
Excellent Spot in Central London!
Amazing hotel. Always come to Aloft and the service is fantastic everytime
Just what i expected.
Stayed here for one night with breakfast the following morning. Nothing to complain about, everything was just as expected. I will stay here again.
Amazing
Really close to the DLR (Prince Regent). Quiet and comfortable stay. Good selection for breakfast.
Lovely hotel, we stayed in the urban room on the 8th floor. Lovely large room, big bathroom shower area too.
I’ve stayed here many times and it never disappoints. This time was no exception. I enjoyed the pool, steam and sauna several times. I went all over London by train. The Prince Regent stop is super convenient
Overall experience excellent!
Comfy but a little noisy
Room was comfortable but sadly there was building work opposite from 0800 every day (Mon -Thu) which also impacted our safer walk to other side of Excel meaning we had to walk on road.
Great design. Only issue: need signage to elevators!

Will be better when surrounding building work done
Good location for Excel . Modern hotel and nice rooms, will be better when surrounding building works complete . Pool is very small and I arrived during swimming lessons so very noisy . Changing rooms not great and no private shower.
