I made the reservation for a larger more comfortable room. The picture showed a room with a double bed and a twin bed. When i arrived a had a double bed with little to room around the bed. Very small room. The AC/ heater did not work and when it did it only ran on AC DURING THE WINTER!!. Very cold room. The halls are very dark. the elevator is tiny to say the least. and there is only one. The hotel share the building with a residence.It is just very unorganized and will never go back!!!

Payment issue and no heating

The receptionist was terrible. He was not friendly. When I paid my bill with my US credit card, he did not ask me to pay Euro or USD, he select USD in a split of second before I had time to react. I complained that he should have asked me first because all other vendors did give me the choice. He responded that the Hotel always charged USD if you were not from Euro zone countries. If I pay in Euro, the exchange rate is based on the official rate. However, If I pay in USD, the exchange rate is way higher than the official rate. Another bad experience is that the room was very cool during my stay in early December. There was an AC control, but it only blew the cool air, not heating air.

Didn’t have much expectations but was amazed with the internal beauty of the high ceiling property, I really felt I’m in Spain. Staff are very courteous and accommodating. Bed and pillow are superb. We love the unlimited breakfast, so healthy and nutritious.

Easy walk to Prado, Thyssen, Sol, Plaza Mayor. Lots of places to eat and shop. Friendly, helpful staff.

Law quality hotel, best location

Very small room, no door to the area of bathroom and toilet , law quality towels, noisy area (we listen all who was walking outside or closing door). Unless location, is very poor quality hotel- its hostel that’s all. The property doesn’t worth the price for the staying.

Great location and good breakfast

No hay teléfono en habitación. El ascensor es uno solo y muy pequeño, el baño es muy pequeño y la puerta no cierra. El lavatorio está en la habitación y lejos del baño. Hay un teléfono en habitación y no funciona. El hotel no da a una pista FM de acceso. Al salir de madrugada hay caminar una cuadra para tomar taxi. No hay un cartel grande que sirva para ubicarlo. El desayuno lo dan en un restaurante que queda a la vuelta del hotel. No lo recomiendo.

Incredible location, access to transit, sites

Alhambra Suites is right down the block from the Sol metro station in central Madrid. Easy access to all the "three" art museums, Royal Plaza, and major train stations. Great cafe and night life within a very short walk of the hotel. A great spot I'll return to over and over.

We really enjoyed the location of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about Madrid. The breakfast was a nice addition to the stay, however after 2 days having the same food it became bit boring. The location of the hotel is very close to restaurants and bars and close to the Plaza When the bars closed you could hear all the partygoer waking down the street being very noisy. Besides the noisy people, which is out of the control of the property, we really enjoyed our stay.

This is the second time I stay in the Hotel!! Will definitely stay again, love it!!

Staff is amazing, every interaction was a smile and ready to go out of their way to help you. Most attractions are within walking distance and shopping and restaurants are abundant, 2 minutes walk to Gran via and 15 minutes to the palace and on your way you can also stop by at plaza mayor

Staff very accommodating and helpful in getting taxis and any questions. There is 1 small elevator but we just walked the stairs every time except for getting luggage in and out. Staff cleaned the room and bathrooms and made beds every day and it’s easy to ask for extra towels if needed. WiFi is included and consistent. Breakfast is a short walk from the hotel but is in a nice restaurant. Coffee is not “drip” coffee- it’s freshly brewed espresso (ex. cappuccino) and you can order specialty toasts in addition to the buffet. Hotel is walkable pretty much everywhere and there’s tons of shopping and dining options in less than a 5 min walk. Sunset in Madrid is not til 10 pm so it’s safe until late. It’s very close to the metro but you don’t even need it - just walk!

Hotel is very well located in the historic center of Madrid and less than 100 meters from Plaza del Sol. Room looked renovated with a big and confy bed. Bathroom is not big but shower is good enough with a ceiling shower head. Breakfast is just ok and it has a couple of incoveniences. First, breakfast is in a restaurant around the block and not in the hotel itself which is a problem if there is bad weather. Second, there are not juice, coffee or water dispensers available. You have to ask the waiter for these which is really a drag because you have to wait for them to attend to you. Breakfast cost 15 Euros and we think that for this price these dispensers should be available. This was our last stop in a 7 cities, 5 countries European trip and was the only hotel where we found this situation.

Awesome place to stay right in the center of madrid

Great Location - Ask for Interior courtyard room

Our stay at this hotel was enjoyable because the location was excellent. I must tell you that the photos of the rooms are very misleading. I know rooms are small in Europe but this room was nothing like the photos. We were unable to open either of our larger( 24") suitcases because there was no room except on the beds. Otherwise the staff were very helpful and the location was right in the centre of things.

This was not a nice hotel. I know I didn’t pay a lot, but still, I would expect a better bathroom & some coffee/tea machine in the room. Changed sheets and bed linen had stains, wall in the bathroom had stains, shower didn’t have a door all the way, so the water gets everywhere by the toilet. The location was convenient, but my local friend called it as a hostel, rather a hotel…and I would agree. Also the view was not great. The hallway sound traveled so loud, no ventilation either. Front people not always present either. People left luggages before/after? Check ins, but I wasn’t confident how safe that was. Breakfast was descent. I wish, though, they change menu a bit every day. People at the restaurant were nice. I will try to upgrade where I will be staying next….

Excellent location, not much else

We needed a place to stay very close to Sol. This was one of the very few places available. It was very noisy and not really comfortable. Also, for some reason, the room was not visited by housekeeping after the first night. Front desk staff is curtious and helpful, but I expected a bit better establishment. I don't think I would book again if I can find an alternative.

A couple from Finland

Very friendly and service-minded staff. Always helpful and proactive. District a bit party-zone (which can be a plus or minus depending on what you are looking for). Nicely located next to Plaza Sol with good connections. Royal Palace and Plaza Mayour in walking distance.

One night Sep. 2023

Al Hambra reservation information (made it clear it was on the second floor) helped to not choose the Al Hambra hostel. My partner did not like the proximity to Puerta del Sol due to the noise. Location was beneficial because so many restaurants on your doorstep. Same for the metro. In my room, there was no sink in the bathroom. It is in the main room area. Breakfast was nice

Lovely staff who are extremely helpful and willing to address concerns, but a bit shabby

There is work going on at the property and no taxi or transport to the street which means if you have luggage you are pretty much have to struggle to bring in the luggage to the hotel.

The hostal is located in a great place, the rooms area confortable and pretty, however the WiFi is terrible, and that is not acceptable now, as is indispensable for a lodging to have good internet

This place was excellent. Clean. Check-In and Out was straightforward. Great location for touristy things within walking distance. They stored our luggage the first day till check in time. We had a room with 4 twin beds and depending on how much luggage you have it maybe tight. We each had a carry on and personal item and were fine. Breakfast a nice bonus. The city was doing construction on the street in front of hotel but was not able to hear it in our room. Would definitely stay here again.

Terrific place

I highly recommend Alhambra Suites! It's in the center of things in Madrid, but just off Puerta del Sol, so not crazy loud. During my stay (June 2023), there was construction on the street but the staff made the inconvenience no problem by assisting with getting taxis where cars temporarily couldn't travel. Super clean. Spacious room. Free breakfast right around the corner(s) -- might be a challenge for those with mobility issues (walking, stairs) -- but only to the breakfast restaurant which is just off-site. Terrific place!

Located in the heart of Madrid, great location! Not a fancy hotel and modest breakfasts. All in all, good choice to stay.

One of the worst hotels I’ve lived in. Zero amenities, no phone, the street is under repairs so no car access. Not even a tissue box in the room. Dark, dingy and most uncomfortable.

Not the properties fault but there is major construction on the road the hotel is on. The shower is a walk in shower and no matter how hard you try water ends up all over the floor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location!!

This was not as advertised. It is not a 3-star hotel. It's a hostel. The staff was very nice, the place was clean. Our room was tiny, not even enough room to open our suitcases. No amenities. The free breakfast is at a restaurant down the street and is marginal at best. Lots of noise. Old and worn, superficially nice. Would not return or recommend.

Hostel not a hotel

The name of the property on this site is Alhambra Suites, when you arrive you see that it's actually a Hostel and includes that on the name outside of the door. Had I known this was a hostel I would not have booked. Though we had a private room it was not a place I would ever stay again.

Nice stay!

Location was great, close to the Metro. Hotel was very nice, and it has a lift/elevator.

Very friendly staff, secured with 24hr reception service. AC worked well during the hot days in Madrid, excellent overall

Great stay

Everything was exactly as described, very clean, Great service. The only issue was that their site mentioned they included free parking, but it was extremely limited (only about 4-5 spaces.) There wasn’t much parking available in the surrounded areas either, we had to drive around for about an hour until we found a spot, which was a half mile walk. The coffee machine in the lobby was also pretty terrible, but that’s not too big of a deal.

Nice room and lovely hotel right in the middle of Madrid close to everything. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Madrid perfect

The suite was great. Location excellent and suite very clean. Service was great, specially the helpfulness of staff - Alvaro. He was attentive and helpful with suggestions and questions that we had. He made the stay more enjoyable.

I think the staff was very good and the room was good balance price/quality.

This property is in a great spot near Puerta del Sol that provides walking access to a multitude of sites in Madrid (Royal Palace, Museums, Plaza Mayor etc.). My only knock is that there are some "interesting" people that hang around the area in the evening which seemed to elicit a more noticeable police presence. We also noticed that it gets a bit noisy at night when Real Madrid is playing!

Alhambra Suites is Great

Mario was great from the time we arrived to our departure. Great location, convenient to metro.

Quick check in, clean, professional staff, easy access to everything, 5 min walk to metro, bus, short walk to Gran Via. Room has 1 electrical outlet, no street noise, noise only coming from guests walking, talking in the hall way

Excellent at a good price in Madrid

Simple accommodations but comfortable, clean, and excellent service at the front desk. Close to Puerta del Sol and other sights and I would definitely stay again.

Close to everything in the center of town. Lively streets, restaraunts and bars within 100 feet. Router/internet didn’t work at end of hallway.

Incredible location right in heart of Puerta del Sol. Clean room and very friendly staff. The only downside is that parking is not included, and the nearest public parking is several blocks away, which is expensive and not convenient for loading luggage. On the other hand, it is possible to walk to numerous attractions from the hotel, so a car is not necessary.

Great for guys /stag /football

We stayed here for our visit to our champions league game I'm Madrid. It was perfect for 7 guys, however I would not bring my wife for a visit. Any guys looking for a cheap hotel in amongst the bars etc this is the place to go.

This small hotel is perfectly located next to the Puerto de Sol. It is walking distance to everything fun and interesting in downtown Madrid. The staff is friendly and super attentive. It is very clean and everything seems brand new. The place is full of tourists and I am a late sleeper so I heard them out in the hall in the morning, but that is to be expected. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this facility.

super connected right on the center of Madrid...not good if you have a car, not gym or working facilities...poor Wifi.

Reasonably good value for money

Located in the center of Madrid; however, in a small rather silent side-street. Helpful and friendly staff and, in principle well maintained, comfortable and clean room of reasonable size. Breakfast is not served in the hotel itself but at a nice restaurant 100 m walking distance away. Quality/Quantity of breakfast was really good. The only problem we faced was that any water discharge (toilet, shower) from upper floors was extremely noisy in our room giving it a Niagara-falls feeling. Whether this is a problem related to only one (our) or all rooms we can't say.

Hostal Suite Alhambra is located near the Puerta del Sol and many restaurants and interesting sites. Their included breakfast is at a nearby restaurant and it was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Will stay there again.

property is in the middle of everthing. the best place to be in the city. Cant check in early. must check in at 3pm. so if your flight arrive early, like me arrived in madrid at 7am from a long flight from asia, dont even thinking of having a shower earlier than 3pm. Very strict. Rooms are clean. The TV is not working. i dont know if all Rooms have Tv. but ours, useless TV no channels maybe no Cable. staff no Action when we called
