It was the worst room i have ever had it had no heat what so ever and it was the honeymoon suit plus the water came out brown when tried using the jacuzzi tub was so cold you couldn't shower or bath
Good location
Good place, nice to visit in winter and one of the places for us to visit in summer
When I booked online, the online company took a bit longer to send the information that I had booked a room. The room was very cold when we got in but because the online information didn't send in time the receptionist didnt have the heat on before we arrived.
its 2star
Good affordable spot for a last minute booking. A little dated but charming nonetheless!
Great location, bed was meh
Cute location, lovely friendly front desk staff. Things were just a bit more run down than we had hoped. The bed in particular was soggy and creaky — like it was very old.
Access to many hiking trails literally across the road
Had an extremely relaxing stay. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Can’t wait to go back ❤️
Can't be approved by the Ministry of tourism
Mattress was very squeaky, not comfortable at all.
We stayed one night for the Thanksgiving weekend, feel fortunate we don't need to be here for another night. 1) There is a MOUSE running around in the room! 2) It said 2 bathrooms in Expedia, but turned out only have 1 bathroom and a jetted tub in the living room! 3) The water is brownish yellow! 4) When kettle is on, the A/C has to be off cos lack of power! 5) There are cracker pieces on the bedsheet! 6) Staff was reluctant to give me extra towels! 7) Bathroom only has shampoo/conditioner but no body wash! My worst experience in hotel booking!! Never been sleeping with a MOUSE!!!
Was only there for one night to hike the area. Everyone at the inn was so nice and accommodating. Room was excellent and clean. Would highly recommend this inn.
Website advises that restaurant is open for dinner 6 -8pm. Upon check in we were advised that restaurant was only open for breakfast. Kettle in room but no coffee or tea and no glasses for beverages. We drove to Huntsville both evenings for dinner as no options at the property which is not convenient. Room was clean and staff were courteous!
I would have rated the property a 5 star all around however, the water in the rooms is not drinkable as it has a yellow tinge to it. I’m guessing it is from the river where they draw the water. Also, the floors and walls are not very soundproof. I was on a lower floor and could hear kids running in the unit above me. I addition, I could hear screaming and a child crying at night.
Not worth the bother
A sad business, the toilets required that toilet paper was placed in the garbage after being used…. rather than being flushed. I feel sorry for the owner… this place has seen its best days and it would take a mountain of cash to fix the problems we saw. We paid for 2 nights, stayed only one and could not bring ourselves to stay a second
This is an extremely clean establishment and the front desk we’re nothing but helpful! The room was immaculate and comfortable. The staff at Algonquin lakeside inn were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend Algonquin lakeside inn, definitely will come back again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good
Love the lakeside view room and it is so cozy! The view on the back of the inn is fantastic, you should really check it out!
Will be using the same inn the next time we visit Algonquin. Very accessible. Will definitely recommend.
The staff are friendly and helpfuul
Stairs to the room are in bad condition. Wood is rotting Room looked ok but exterior of building needs repairs No coffee maker in rooms. Water in rooms comes from the lake and notice in bathroom not to flush toilet paper Toilet paper to go into garbage. Would not recommend this place
It has such potential to be great but it needs TLC...broken cabinet door, fridge leaks, needs some paint on several outdoor areas. Beautiful scenery all around, friendly staff, rooms are warm but could use a table to place the kettle !
Good view and friendly staff. Water supply is not continuously. No drinkable water. The water is directly from the river. It’s yellow color. The water supplies stop almost 6 hours.
This was a great place to stay if you want to get an early start in Algonquin, it’s less than a ten minute drive to the West Gate. The room was simple, clean and comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave. Also, the heating works great for when it gets chilly at night.
Friendly front desk, and quick check in. Quiet place and very nice location. Quick response to our request to fix something. Will definitely come back. The staff are just readily available when we need them. The only issue is the water supply, other than that we are happy campers. Thank you..
The rooms have recently been updated which is nice however the outdoor seating/chairs are very old and warn. The bed is a bit "springy" but the rooms were very clean. The location was convenient to start off the rest of our vacation in algonquin park.
Great.
The tap water comes from Oxtongue Lake and is yellow. Bottled water is a must. Love the lakeside beach feet from the suite.
Fire pit for our family room was taken elsewhere and wood over priced Room was clean and plumbing works so what more can you ask for
Pretty place
Staff are very accommodating .
We enjoyed our stay in the suite with a jacuzzi...the room was clean and nicely updated! We hung out on the dock and soaked in the sunset....was a beautiful evening! The staff were attentative and very accommodating!
Quiet and proper location
The location to Algonquin park is amazing. Property was poor, grass and weeds were not cut, garbage around property, chipmunk in our room 2 times, could not leave sliding door open due to whole door and windows not being secured, door handle was so close to falling off, large opening under door that we had to put towels in to prevent bugs and animals from coming in, stains all over bed and sheets, had to ask for more toilet paper and towels (stayed for a week). Staff were very friendly but would have been nice to see them around the property more. Most likely wouldn’t stay here again. We went to this location knowing full well that it wasn’t fancy by anymeans but the issues mentioned above are to be expected as important for safety.
A great location for visiting the Algonquin Park, with easy access to Oxtongue Lake. The property is a bit run down, but clean and with all basic necessities.
great family friendly inn! staff is very kind, understanding, helpful, and willing to accommodate. I recommend this inn to anyone looking to get closer to Algonquin park without having to camp on the grounds. Will be coming here again :)
Shabby.
Staff were accommodating to a late check-in and communicated well. Room: Surfaces were clean, however, furniture has seen better days. There were no cups, front screen door didn't close and the bed was uncomfortable. It was just a place to sleep and that worked for us, but I wouldn't stay here for an extended period.
I use this facility. I’m in the area on business. It’s consistent.
The receptionist has an outstanding personality.
August long weekend getaway
Another great trip to this motel! As usual the friendly staff was waiting to greet us at the front desk! They always make sure we are comfortable! After a long day of hiking, having the lake right there to jump in and cool down is absolutely amazing! The room was clean as always! Dont expect the comforts of the ritz Carlton but that is not what you paid for! You paid for the location and it is absolutely stunning! It was an absolutely amazing experience and will be planning our 5th stay at this motel in the near future!
Great location
Great service, clean room
Great service. Clean room. We had a nostalgic visit along the riverside
Good Nature and neat place
We loved the view from our room. The room was clean and quite modern. The room came with a fridge, microwave and kettle. It would have benefited from having coffee and tea with cups and glasses.
No one was in office to check in .Check in was at 3 didn’t get room until 5 .The guy at the front desk told me 3 to many times to sit down. The property was very rundown. The water was nasty and smells like fish so we couldn’t take showers.
We enjoyed the quiet location and distance to the west gate of Algonquin park.
The owner is very helpful and cooperative. Overall really enjoyed my stay..calming and rejuvenating experience with the lake and nature
Great spot and close to Algonquin Provincial Park.
Would come back for sure
Perfect spot great owners
Very pleasant , clean, freshly decorated. Helpful staff!!
The manager was rude and unprofessional. They tried to extort us for more money then booked on Expedia. The activities and equipment was damaged and unsafe. My daughter and wife almost drowned in a paddle boat they provided had a hole in the bottom. Unsafe, unprofessional Terrible place
More than I expected. Great base camp for going on day hikes in Algonquin.
Property were in poor condition, needs serious renovation.
We booked this accommodation for one night on a road trip between Toronto and Montreal based on the delightful photos of the accommodation. We were disappointed and glad to be only staying one night. The entire site and room could best be described as tired and dated. The staff were not particularly interested and certainly did not seem to take any pride in their work or the accommodation.
It’s in the perfect location but the place could’ve been kept up more. It seems there hasn’t been much done to maintain the place. It’s a shame too, the place has so much potential
Overall very nice area
The couple that runs the Inn are lovely. Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable and the shower wasn’t clean.
excellent location, nice view
It was convenient for the night. Way too pricey for what you get. Our little cottage was decent and comfortable however there was dirt and dust in places that look as though it hasn't been touched in months. We had almost nothing to cook with and no coffee, napkins etc. We had to really use our imaginations. The area around the cottage (river and beach area) was covered in a number of hazardous items including, glass, bottle caps, screw, cans and smoke butts. Not pleasant. I inquired about the overall cleanliness and price being outrageous. The lady was super sweet but just smiled and said sorry. I wouldn't go back unless I was desperate for a place to stay. More maintenance and upkeep and this place would be nice.
Poor place… don’t go there!
Bad service. The receptionist didn’t speak much english and did not offer anny recommendations at all for what to see do around the Agolquin Park. Apartments were in bad shape. A mouse came crawling at the bed during night and woke up the entire family!!! Overall very bad experience!
I would STRONGLY suggest you do not promote this property& remove from your listings-altho I am so glad that we at least got a cheaper rate from you-still so not worth it-we would have turned around & gone elsewhere in a heartbeat if hadn't already paid & not able to get our money back. Called direct initially they wanted $249-so Not worth this is any way shape or form ever! Very run down, old, unkept,no landscaping, grass not cut, weeds, very unsafe in so many ways on the property, docks, stairs, walkways, electrical plugs exposed throughout property, everything needs painting-if the health unit or building inspectors came (Huntsville must have them??)it would be shut down on spot & it should be.Had solar panels on roof that looked rotting? Can't drink the water-they give you 2 bottles & advertise hot tub in "honeymoon suite" which we were looking forward too but the water was gross & discoloured. Would not use restaurant there as who knows what kitchen looks like & undrinkable water so what do they use. At most this is a cheap truckers stop who has been driving a long time & this place popped up-as its right off highway & so was noisy & sure the traffic could see inside our room! made the best of it as had no choice but were wanting to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in Huntsville tranquility-will absolutely do more research next time we are looking to book.Sadly got totally sucked in by false pretense of pictures. Would never suggest this to anyone!!!!
The room had a great view of the water. One of the best breakfasts i have ever had.
I don't recommend for couples
Good place
The service and facility was so poor. no coffee in rooms, Defective BBQ, lack of outdoor chair,...
Algonquin Lakeside Inn
We stayed here until our spot was available at Algonquin provincial park. I recommend this Motel to anyone. Very friendly and family oriented. It’s definitely on the top of my list if needed in the future.
Restaurant was a joke, box, fish and box, french fries, and boxed omelets extremely uncomfortable bed very tiny room no toilet paper no drinkable water and no bottle water provided by far the worst motel experience I have ever experienced! Paid for 2 nights $368 but after the first one I decided to cut and run as fast as I could out of there! No funds was stipulated prior to booking so lost out on $170
May long weekend getaway
This is the third time staying here for my fiance and I! It has yet to disappoint! It is exactly what we want and exactly what we need after a long day of hiking! Beautiful views, comfortable room, and a jetted tub to relax the muscles! A lot of reviews have shown me that people enter with unreasonable expectations for a place located in the middle of nature, and at a very reasonable price point! Love this place, and already have another night booked for the August long weekend! With intentions of booking another night here sooner!
Great place
Cheap and cheerful, not luxury by any stretch of the imagination, but clean and somewhere to chill after a trek that's 10 times as longer as you expected!! Super friendly hosts and trying really hard ❤️
The families working at the Inn are wonderful and very helpful. They are working so hard on a property that needs so much work.
Nice little spot. We had a great time.
The room was clean. However no tv ( was not working) no coffee maker, no washcloths, no glasses not even plastic disposable.
Tv did not work in first room..next room smelled like wet/dirty dogs..the one guy who worked there was very polite though
pretty good
We stayed for 2 nights in early Dec - it's nice and close to Algonquin Park where we went each day to hike the trails. Perfect for a simple night's rest, warm and dry! Nice view of the lake too!
The couple running the property were lovely.
My sister who beat cancer and I drove 4 hours to come here because we were hiking in algonquin park to do the 30 k hiking challenge to support cancer research only to find out staff leave at 5pm so I was charged 200 dollars for a place I wasnt able to check into
The water in the washroom has certain colour to it, not sure why its not clear. Other things in the room was working and in good condition. The location and surounding area is beautiful.
We paid a premium price for this room to have a jacuzzi. It, along with the shower were unusable due to dirty water. We tried to contract the staff to let them know, but everything was locked up tight at 720 pm. This ruined an already dreadful day.
lake view
Limited towels, coudnt operate TV. Kettle kept in the room was dirty. Wouldn’t recommend
The property needs major renovations. The room has an unpleasant odour The pictures on Expedia site are inaccurate. The hotel room looks nothing like the pictures. The water in the jacuzzi was brown. The room not clean. Not worth the money we paid unfortunately.
Thanksgiving weekend getaway
What an amazing experience! My fiance and I stayed here on Thanksgiving weekend, and I can't say enough about this spot! Take into consideration the location and enter with reasonable expectations! If the wifi isn't working perfectly, consider where you are, if the water isn't city water, consider where you are! The room is very clean and comfortable, with a cottage type feel! The beauty that surrounds this place is magnificent, and the staff is very friendly and happy to help! If you are expecting this to be the ritz Carlton, look elsewhere! If you are looking for a cute, comfortable spot, with that cottage getaway type feel, this is the place to go!
Nice view on the lake. Easy access.
1. Location: Close to algonquin park 2.Room size: big enough for 4, kitchen avaliable. I like this place!
This motel has a great location because its just 4 min drive from Algonquin Park. The water is not potable. It comes from the lake. They filter it. They offer 2 half litter bottles per person if you stay for 2 nights. It is prohibited by law to use the kind of fireplaces that they have in their rooms because last year one exploded at another motel, in the area. I was told these by one of the employees. We were in a king room with jacuzzi. The room and linen were clean. The jacuzzi was not washed properly and when I asked for it to be rewashed, one of the employees was really nice to help with that. He thought that there were stains from the water and that they reaper no matter how much they wash it. However, after he rewashed it, no stains reapered. He used some detergent to wash it, entered the tub in his sleepers that he used outside, too and didn't rinse it in the end. So, if you want to use the tub, wash it and rinse it yourself, just to be sure it's clean. The washroom was clean but the doors of the shower not really. The hallway towards the room was clean. The parking lot, in front of the rooms is full of cigarette butts, same with the beach. There are beoken things and garbage everywhere. I can say that this is a two way fault, not enough personal for cleaning, no cigarette trays available and people who leave this mess. There is lots of mess at the staff entrance. The decks are not safe to walk on. On one of them nails are popping up, the other one looks broken.
The property is ok. Biggest issue was the floor in the room. I was in bare feet and my wife in socks and both were black. Had to get out of bed to turn lights on. Room not designed well. Towels were not ready for hours after checkin then had to ask for face cloths. Didnt use the tub but it looked clean. With a bit more work this place would have been acceptable. Didnt try the food.
This property has seen better days. It is rundown and deteriorating.
good place
The location is close to Algonquin Park.
Newly renovated, the stuff is pretty helpful. But 1, boat rental costs additional, not included. 2, The oars of the boat is full of splinters
Attentive staff
Bed and bathroom clean but floors dirty. Baseboards not caulked or painted so look terrible and dirty. Shower and vanity very outdated. No dresser. Wifi so slow.. couldn’t do any of my work that included streaming videos. Food was awful, curdled milk and cream, microwaved eggs and an apple rationed between me and two other guests. Would not stay here again
It is just right at the Chuna Town
Excellent

I stayed here for one night while snowmobiling in the area. My stay was great. The room was clean and modern and the bed was comfy. I would stay here again and i would recommend this place to friends. Staff were friendly and helpful.
