The room was clean and very comfy. It was tricky getting into the spa bath in order to have a shower. The hotel needs renovating however the price reflects this.

Ok

Nice and clean room. However, the toilet has a constant urine and Pooh smell coming from inside and I believe the drains may be the cause of this. Spa bath sounds old and like it is struggling however minus the bubbles it is very cosy and relaxing. Bathroom could do with an extractor fan and ventilation. Swimming pool shuts too early.

I would recommend yhis property

Website showed restaurant, bar and cafe but there wasn’t any, no pool furniture to sit on. Pillows were cheap & flat, had to ask for extras. No hairdryer, the beds were uncomfortable however, the linen was clean. Overall, very old and outdated.

The property is very dated, however, it is clean, the room is large and it is in a convenient location. The front staff are very helpful.

Staff was brilliant and accomodating, nice spacious room, but it could probably do with a small table, for eating. the spa bath could do with steps, for personal safety, other than those, I enjoyed my stay

Was okay for a necessary overnight stay for solo person. Did the job, but nothing flash. Was good value for money.

Very dated room and quite strange layout however everything was fine. The lighting is terrible and not very complementary to the room a bed side light would be good . No power point next to bed for phone charging . The shower is not good for access and the spa bath is very ugly and not nessassary

Cheap but nasty

No fan, ironing board but no iron, dangerous shower/bath boiling water, and treacherous to get in and out, my fuse blew in my room and as it was the weekend, was told it wouldn't get fixed till Monday. Fridge thawed out , no tv no light except for bathroom

This place was amazing, It was a spur of the moment stay for one night and the staff were brilliant. The staff were so friendly and nothing was any trouble I even got an upgrade to a room with a spa. I highly recommend this hotel.

Looks like no maintenence has been done since the 80s, anywhere on the site! Bathroom has 80s spa bath that doesn't work, and its a mission to get in and out of. The tiny 80s tiles are slowly falling off. The bathroom sinks were stained. The bed was confy, though. If you want modern and maintained, this isn't for you. If you just want a clean warm bed, its suitable. The restaurant doesnt look like its ever open. The reception staff were polite, but not friendly and helpful

It was ok ,i think it needs a makeover

Found 3 cockroaches in the room, and one big black spider in the bed! Terrible cleanliness, very disappointed.

The room that I had, the shower was inside the spa tub. The tub was too high and theres nothing to stand on. Health and safety concern about the climbing in and out of a high tub. Very slippery and had to sit naked on the tub edge for safety.

Will stay again Really nice Love upstairs better. Maybe next time.

Only went there because the pool. Got there and told pool was closed.

The unit was great

The only thing was I didnt have a good sleep the doubke bed was so hard its like sleeping on a rock....didnt help with wanting to have a good rest....overall it was 👍 👍

We like the size of the rooms, the bathroom was very dated and was challenging even for a fit tween to climb into oversized spa to have a shower.

Others staying there banging walls all night

Was a nice place to stay for a night. I loved the idea of the bath but it was dirty. The receptionist was very accomodating and gave clear instructions of where to find my room. The bed was comfy and clean. One thing I found odd was that the cutlery was wrapped in teatowels. We didn’t think there was any till we grabbed a tea towel and a butter knife and fork fell out. I did like the ‘birds of paradise’ flowers surrounding the place. Added a unique touch.

Will suggest to friends

Handy for Claudelands, quiet, kitchenette. Sink not large enough to fit the kettle or wash dishes, spa bath difficult to climb in and out of. Dated and tired.

amazing stay

Property was nice. Older motel but maintained well. Shower and tub need to be replaced. Climbing in to a whirlpool tub is not easy, just replace it with a nice shower. Lights in bathroom could be better.

The bathroom was unclean and the shower doesnt have a proper screen or ventilation so everything in the room gets wet, the bedding was dirty and the items supplied in the kitchenette are very basic. Staff are friendly though and allowed us to check in early

Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. We had a spa bath in our room which didn't spa though and although there was a shower head over the tub, the sides were so high my mother was unable to climb in to use it. Gave us 70's vibes. The rest of the room was comfortable though and suited us well enough

It is what you pay for . At least the bedding and the room but the motel is in need for a good up date. But this is why it’s so cheap .

Wasn’t told it was emergency housing. Room was not cleaned well. Bed had white stains on valance. Toilet was stained. Other than that was ok

Hard to get into spa bath/shower. Exposed light over spa bath, you could see the the timber through the hole.

Unfortunately the photos misled the actual booking on hotels.com . I dont like getting to a place to argue with staff about a misleading error of details and photos. Will only stay again if desperate as previous time wifi wasnt working abd and had ants in room

.we were yelled at and felt intimidated by young people at car park on arrival ..dark corridors leading to units .only 2 × exits. Did not stay

Was neat to have a kitchen sink and cook top in the room to fill the kettle up and available to cook if needed. I didn't like the 'big leap' into the spa bath (which didn't work) to have a shower- would've been easier if it was separate or lower.

We thought good value for the money, we had 3 nights.

The place has a good atmosphere and has ample parking space. I definitely enjoyed our stay there, and would stay there next time.

Old and very tired, mould around the shower / spa bath which was hard to get into and out of. The hall way smelt of urine. Only managed 4 hours sleep due to guests yelling, talking and stomping above us. Would not recommend.

Decent average motel

Older motel than thought with images. WiFi wasn't working but staff were decent to find out why. There were ants in room on single bed near window we had to kill. Was OK for price but have had better value in Hamilton in past for same price and modern but those were booked out early due to long weekend. Room we were in was a long walk to end of Back block

There was clearly no noise restrictions after 9:30 pm at night. There were no net curtains for daytime privacy only full blackout curtains and there was only two lights working. The toilet smelt of urine in the shower grout was covered in mould. Also getting into the shower was difficult as you had to either sit or straddle over the spa bath edge. bathroom vanity was very poorly cleaned around the taps. Cutlery was wrapped up in a tea towel that was very obscure to find. The cooling was a very rickety pedestal fan

Best thing was the reception service. Room was outdated and desperately needed doing up, found a cockroach in the room. Nowhere on the listing does it say this olace is also used as emergency accomodation, but you find that out when you get there and hear the other people there.

Nice room and bathroom. Basics like tea, coffee and milk was provided.

this is total value for money, room was spotless, great spa bath, window in bedroom however did not have safety lock so a child could have fallen out, would really stay again though as it was a great place to stay

I didn't like that they had no communal kitchen so had to buy either takeaway or food that could be heated in a microwave.

This hotel is quite dated and run down and needs some maintenance. When I checked in they put me in the wrong room type vs what I had booked. Eventually they moved me to the correct room type and when I walked in it smelt like smoke and curry. Rather than complaining I went and bought some scented candles to make the room smell more pleasant. It also wasn’t very clean. To be honest I would stay here again if I absolutely had to but it would be my last resort.

This Hotel used to be a very nice place to stay. It is tired and in bad repair with very aged fittings. It needs a lot of time and money spent on it to bring it up to any type of good standard. I would never stay there again.

Extremely dated and needing a serious makeover. Lots of things need checking and repairing, e.g. loose foot on convection heater, flickering and noisy fluorescent lighting. Bed was comfy though.

It was full of homeless people who were loud and messy. Towels and laundry were hanging all over the balconies and outside doors. It was damp and had mold in the bathroom, lights didn't work and there was exposed wiring in the room which was freezing upon entry. I didn't feel safe leaving my car in the carpark, albeit it was ok the next morning. Couldn't wait to get out of there and wont be going back

We had room 44 out of the way which was nice. Very affordable for 3 ppl it does need a bit of maintenance but hey for the price it was very comfortable. If you want 5 star this is not the place but the service was great so that to me is 5 star in itself. My one suggestion we were here for a sports event which got cancelled and we love rugby. Sky sport would be a nice touch👍

It was quiet and clean and the reception staff very nice. The room was tired and dated. Cigarette burn marks on bathroom vanity a huge semi circular bath with overhead shower which was difficult and dangerous to get in and out of, antiquated fixed hair dryer unit which was virtually useless and very limited choice of tv channels

Comfortable but a little dated.

The hotel is a little dated but the room was comfortable and included a microwave plus two stove top elements for those who wanted to cook. It was a nice touch to have complimentary bottled water. The bathroom definitely needs to be refurbished although it did include a massive spa bath in the bathroom which I had to clamber in to have a shower. A bit hard for some people. There is no restaurant or bar but a very nice restaurant and cafe called Gerards at a nearby motel. It was open for breakfast from 7.30am on Saturday which was great.

I liked the size of the rim. I didn’t like that the pillows were like sleeping on a sheet, they were very thin. Housekeeping never made my bed properly or vacuumed the room.

Good: The bed was comfortable and staff were pleasant. Bad: The spa bath didn’t work (which they advised us about) it was all peeling at the bottom of the bath. There was mould all around the bath and shower curtains. The window in the bathroom was broken. The room was a non-smoking room which you could smell cigarette smoke in. The side lamps were broken and didn’t work. The drapes were broken.There was a bug in the bathroom.The outside parking was too small for our vehicle. This place needs upgrading urgently!

Was only there for work purposes so can’t complain. Standard room and could do with a remodel. Walls are marked and very musty and mould smell. Bathroom out dated. Staff super friendly and welcoming.
