Good place — iffy area!

Helpful staff. Great breakfast. We expected a better area. Lots of crime and rowdiness.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the room was very nice, clean and modern. Laundry was available but very expensive. Breakfast was terrific, with custom made coffee drinks and a nice buffet, as well has hot dishes to order. Our only issue is the surroundings. Very noisy and youthful university area that is rocking and rolling 24 hours per day. While we never felt unsafe, the street right outside the hotel is dirty and graffiti laden, and often smelled of urine. It seems to be an area that the hotel has built in expecting a resurgence. I hope it happens because they are really good. If I return to Bologna I will stay more centrally downtown.

Unfortunately, the pictures online got us excited but upon arrival we were very disappointed! The lounge had 4 chairs and they served drinks until 9:30. The location after dark is down right scary!!!

The hotel is located a bit off the beaten path. The one block you must travel to the main area is a bit suspicious. However, overall we would rate the hotel well. The staff was good and the room itself was far better than you expect walking in. They miss little things such as helping guests with luggage'. Solid 3.75-4.0 star hotel

The hotel is ok not a 4 star hotel I would say 3 star is pushing it, the staff was very nice, rooms were small free breakfast was nice, overall it was fine the area around seemed unsafe there were homeless everywhere and doing drugs. Probably wouldn’t stay here again for that reason alone.

Great place to stay! Very clean and spacious rooms and the staff was amazing. Very easy to explore the beautiful city on foot from here.

The side street the hotel is on is sketchy especially at night. It’s only one block and then a nice area but the staff here went out of their way to make our stay even better. Very welcoming, had a great list of amazing restaurants close by at all price ranges. Made sure we got back from an excursion and breakfast was amazing. The beds were pretty hard which is why the 4 stars but honestly we would stay here again. The people made the difference.

Very nice hotel, great location and great breakfast

The location is terrible, people smuggling drugs outside the hotel door. Very noise and all surroundings have graffiti writings, everywhere. It feels dirty, noisy and unsafe.

For my first Italy trip, I chose Albergo Rossini 1936.I am SO glad that I did! Bologna in Jan. was uncrowded, & the central area was open & easy to walk to.This boutique hotel is a gem in the city. It is very clean, the room was well-appointed, & the bed was comfortable. Hot shower, high enough for my 188cm height, perfect temp in the room even though it was cold out, a well-stocked minibar, & clean bidet. I received several handwritten notes and treats from mgmt & staff that made me feel very cared for. The breakfast included with my room was very well-prepared, with a generous number of varied choices & the service was excellent.The thing that impressed me above all else was the kindness & high level of service that I received from all of the staff, especially the front desk & the breakfast & bar. It was obvious that they were making every effort to make me feel welcome & valued. I really appreciate the interested conversations & offers for any help that I might need to accomplish my goals for the weekend. I ate VERY well & thoroughly enjoyed my trip!The hotel is located on a smaller street, very close to Piazza Verde, where the univ students love to congregate.I had no noise problems & the piazza made getting to the main downtown easy. There is graffiti in this area, but it isn't indicative of the safety.I walked unbothered, even late.All in all, I am happy to give the people & the hotel at Albergo Rossini 1936 my highest rating, & I can't wait to return with my wife!

The property is nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room (Aida) was very small. The description of parking is misleading. It says on your site: >>Self-parking on site- 20. >> Actually parking is off site (10-15 minutes drive in old city Bologna) and it's 24Eur per day.

Extremely pleasant experience! From the moment I was greeted by Adele, to the cleanliness and style of the room, everything was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious. The location is very central and the whole city is walkable from here. The handwritten notes are an extra, unexpected lovely touch. Would highly recommend!

Hotel was great, Nice clean room, very helpful staff, great breakfast...very much enjoyed my stay.....the only downside and its not there fault, the piazza you walk through to get there wasnt the greatest...other then that I have no complaints and will def. stay there again when back in Bologna....

We had a very relaxing stay with pleasant staff and an excellent breakfast.

Love the staff at this facility. Beds comfortable. Breakfast exceptional. However the immediate area around the facility is dirty and unkept. Parking limited. Accosted on walking downtown through the area around the Opera House. I felt secure inside…staffed 24/7, but unhoused people loitering outside wasn’t okay.

As noted on many reviews, ALL of the staff we encountered were kind and friendly in a natural way well beyond the norm. A really treat of a hotel. hope to go back if i am ever in bologna again.

The staff is excellent!

The room and location were just fine, but the real standout about this hotel was the staff. They were all so kind and friendly and wanted to help in every way they could. We felt really looked out for and safe when we stayed there.

Great little hotel

Room was small but the personnel was outstanding. Anything you wished they would immediately take care of. Could not have been nicer or more accommodating! I definitely recommend. Central location near everything. Lively University area but hotel is on quiet street. Kudos to every single employee there! Fabulous breakfast.

As its name says, small and charming. Large bright room on a quiet side-street in the middle of a very lively student quarter. Friendly helpful front desk with Bruno. Fabulous breakfast, not just the usual 3 dry cookies one gets in Italy, but a large buffet of fruit, yoghurts, croissants and cakes and served egg and other dishes.

Wonderful staff and they held our luggage while I was in meetings.

Nice place in the middle of university life

Location will let you see life outside tourist filled center. Service was good, the room was no frills but not bad with decent a/c. Breakfast was not the best in Bologna but still good. One would need luck with finding street parking and be careful to plan arrival.

Friendly and informal

I loved it. Very small and friendly and just around the corner from the famous towers. Breakfast good. The only thing I didn't like were the pillows - too hard; but, I finding that in my hotel in Florence, too, so perhaps that's what you get in Italy.

This is a small & charming hotel as the name says. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It had a nice breakfast buffet plus a breakfast menu for hot foods. It is within walking distance of the town center of Bologna.

Nice centrally located and friendly

We had a nice stay. The hotel is very centrally located in the city center. I thought there was on site parking - and discovered that that meant street parking. There is un underground parking 10minutes walk away. The breakfast staff was especially efficient and cooked a delicious breakfast. The hotel decor is somewhat surprising and a little too diverse for my taste. Other than that warm, personnalisés welcome

going back shouldn't be a problem

It was OK. The room was clearly renovated. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Some of them rather new in the business but NP. Some details in the renovation where not done, no problem for the comfort but they where noticeable. The manager should look with a bit more detailed eye. The parking for the car is on the road, when your lucky it is near the hotel otherwise somewhere in the neighborhood, but this only for car voyagers. In general all OK, going back shouldn't be a problem.

Veldig koselig og sjarmende hotell

Et fantstisk lite og koselig hotell midt i Bologna sentrum. Kort vei til alt. Litt «dodgy» området, men service og selve hotellet var helt supert. Litt småirriterende med luft-friskere i stikkontakt, men det overlevde vi. Ungene var i ekstase da de så det lå sjokolade på pute da vi kom tilbake etter middag. Service og vennlighet til de som jobbet der var helt suverent!

O hotel tem uma boa localização (um pouquinho escondido), fica perto das universidades e a locomoção é bem fácil. É um hotel pequeno mas com serviço impecável. Os funcionários extremamente atenciosos, educados e prestativos. Café da manhã excelente. Quarto de bom tamanho, organizado e limpo. Uma graça as boas vindas preparada nos quartos.

Nice hotel. Very very friendly and service-mindet staff. Only little thing: a lot of noise from the street Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening/might from young people partying at the bar close by. And again from the street sweeper early in the morning.
