Good hotel but mixed experience!
A mixed experience but good overall : - Positive: Great location for centrale station and city center, Clean and calm, Excellent breakfast - Negative: This might me specific to the room we got, but it had a strange strong smell, every time you enter the room cant miss it, and it would go away with ventilation, good thing you stop noticing it after few minutes. Againt this could be specific to my room and I didnt bother notify reception! Another thing, is that furniture is a bit old and pretty used (still didnt affect comfort or cleanliness) I would still book again, if you need good place to rest and sleep, good breakfast and good access to the city!
Would choose the same again in the future.
Very polite stuff, nice breakfast room. The room was clean, and spacious enough, good mattress on the bed. You have everything you want in the room except, but there was not a freege in the room. The location is the best. Near the central station, the city center-shopping area, restaurants area etc. Everything was great, thank you very much.
Albergo Atlantic is close to the railway station and a short walk to many of the attractions in Bologna. Good restaurants are a 5 minute walk. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They stored my cheese in the refrigerator overnight so I could take it on my flight. The rooms were clean and there wasn’t much noise from the hallway. I would definitely stay again.
Everyone was very kind and helpful
Insanely hard bed.
Quiet despite being in a busy neighborhood. Hotel rooms were quite large compared to others in the city. Average European style breakfast with quite a few choices.
Funky clean place to stay.
Great hotel in very good location. Rooms are a bit funky but are well equipped and extremely clean. My room actually was on two levels. The entry level had a wardrobe and the bathroom then there was a stair up to the bedroom. Breakfast was great. I will stay again.
Close to train/bus station good value budget hotel. Easy walk to main square, restaurants and shops. Good breakfast.
Just one night but it was just what we needed (except for the eyepopping F1 RATE.) Dynamic pricing! 😒
Friendly staff and good central position but also close to railway station. Quiet rooms but small.
Excelent position
Too many stairs. Staff should advise of stairs in room especially for elderly.
Well situated, walking distance to train station. Nice "collazione" to start off your day, plenty of shops, cafés, and dining options in the vicinity. I was by myself, room had perfect space, very clean and luminous. Yes, the walls seem to be paper thin and we can hear the neighbours...solved with earpods. Top of my list when I will return to Bologna, because three days is not enough.
The hotel is very nice. And the desk staff saved me by getting a taxi at 4 am. Uber is not that great there. Thanks! You went above and beyond.
Breakfast was excellent; staff was very nice and helpful; Room temp was set at 22C; walls a little thin (but I read prior reviews and was not surprised)
A cozy, clean and practical. Close to the center of bologna, bus stop, train station. Breakfast included. It was nice.
Great location for walking from the train and around Bologna. The food in Bologna was AMAZING!! The hotel was clean and in a safe area. Having the breakfast buffet was very nice too. The air conditioning in the two rooms we rented was not satisfactory. Staff insisted we were "managing" the unit, had our windows open etc. This was not the case. The units did not move or cool the air. They did not have a room fan we could use. Sleeping was very difficult.
Perfect location in old city center but also near train station. Great staff.
Great Value and Friendly Staff!
Albergo Atlantic is very well positioned in the city, less than 10 minutes walking from the central train station. The staff is attentive and kind and the rooms are what you would expect at this price range. We found Albergo Atlantic to be a great value for money proposition and would definitely recommend anyone staying there.
The best part about this hotel is the location. It’s in a great area full of food options, shops, and is close to all the good stuff. The rate was good, and the breakfast was great but don’t expect a full american spread with hot dishes. The room was ok, I appreciated the tile floor and the firm bed. The shower was VERY small and somewhat of a nightmare for me to use, and the whole room had very outdated decorations and design. The neighbors are loud well into the night, and I heard people above and on the side of me through the walls at very late hours. It was hard to get a good nights sleep, especially with all the sight seeing I was doing because of its location. They also lock the front door at night, and were not polite about having to open it for me. I am a smoker, and I had a wild night out in their great city and arrived very late. The front desk guy was not polite about having to buzz me in, and frankly I’m not amused that I couldn’t come and go as a please as an adult, and as a paying customer. I would stay there again based on location alone, but would ask for a bigger shower.
Cute European friendly hotel with great breakfast
The staff was very friendly and efficient. Rooms were very clean. It is a European vibe hotel. But very comfortable and very close to everything. Breakfast was included with delicious croissants and numerous breakfast items. They make a great cappuccino. Small boutique hotel and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again!
Good for a night or 2
The man that works the front desk is amazing! Besides that the rooms walls are paper thin. The cleaning lady is obnoxious in the morning. Starting noise well before 10AM. You can hear conversations of the guest throughout the night unless you make some kind of noise via television or phone all night. Clean, cozy and nice location though. Nice staff. But get a new cleaning lady shes posion to your company you will get a lot of negative reviews for that
stayed in single room, which was bigger than expected, hotel needs soundproofing as could hear other guests and staff I had a nice breakfast, shower was excellent and big
Delightful receptionists, large room and bed with high ceiling, clean bathroom, comfortable bed, excellent coffee, wholesome breakfast... this was an excellent hotel. I wish i had time to stay longer. most certainly I ll stay there again. walking distance from the train station, main streets and main square. This is neither a modern nor a fancy hotel; it is a well-renovated, well-maintained old-style hotel where the staff knows how to provide comfort for the guests. Vannie (Giovanni) is an amazing receptionist.
Property is a real find, staff were really friendly and helpful. Accommodation is no frills, but very convenient for trains and Bologna centre, all walkable. Noise can be heard from other rooms and corridors but quiet at night. Breakfast was a real bonus, excellent selection. Coffee was freshly made and good quality. Really clean, fresh towels and bed linens renewed often. We had a small outside space but faced internal well. May be worth asking for upgrade if this matters to you
Unassuming from the outside but very nice inside! I had a very cute little attic room with a skylight, big comfy bed and extra amenities (slippers in the room!) Excellent location, and very nice staff. Would stay again.
Older building, but renovated with a nice bathroom. Top floor room had a strange sloping ceiling. Good breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff.
Exelent
Goo location, clean and nice room. All devices and accessories in room.
Helpful staff. Quick booking in at reception. Not too far from station.
Very Clean, very well located, very good choice
Traveling for a while and needed a break from airbnb's. Found this hotel in my price range for one night. what a surprise. Super clean, near everything, very nice people at the desk. Booked a single and they put me in the attic with no window. i said I couldn't stay there and they moved me. If you need a window open at night, watch out for this room.
Excellent value for money
Well placed, clean, recently refurbished, excellently priced hotel. Perfect distance between train station and historic town center. Friendly service and great breakfast included. Only qualm is walls are very thin, but fortunately neighbors weren’t the noisy type. Would 100% stay again.
Alberto Atlantic provided very friendly service at a reasonable price. There is always a person at the reception desk. The complimentary breakfast was quite nice including fresh cappuccinos. Rooms were clean, but could definitely use an upgrade in pillows for a better nights rest.
Amazing Single Room
I had a beautiful single room for one person. Very nice deal for the price, lots of windows that I really enjoyed with a nice view of the city rooftops as Bologna was quite warm. It was ample space for one person. Great location for walking to the train station early in the morning. I had stayed at two other more expensive hotels while in Bologna closer to the city center and should have stayed here both nights as I spent most of the time sightseeing and this was perfect for that purpose. The walk to close by places and landmarks wasn’t horrible either, after spending time in larger cities on the same trip. The streets around it were very safe alone at night and there is a truly amazing gelato place across the street that I frequented often, possibly too often during my stay. The staff was very warm and kind too, even if my Italian wasn’t the best, and they were very flexible in allowing me to stay for a second night in the same room at a last minute’s notice. I would definitely suggest this to those visiting Bologna in the future.
Okay in a pinch
The room was clean, but cramped. The toilet in the bathroom was so tight against the towel warmer that the seat would not stay in place as a result of so many people having to tilt sideways to clean themselves. Though the temperature outside was chilly due to a surprisingly cold May, the room was stuffy because there was only a skylight window that let sun in all day and the room could not be cooled with an air conditioner because the establishment had decided it wasn’t the season to allow air conditioning. I removed the comforter to sleep under sheets only, and still awakened sweating. I will say that the breakfast included was good, and the ladies serving there were excellent. For the money I spent for two days I would not there again. I have found better accommodations in Bologna before. Unfortunately, there were few choices the weekend I stayed here because of Bologna being the first stop of the bicycle race. I will not be back.
Nicely updated older building. Convenient area close to Train Station and historic centre. Nice balcony in our room. Nice bathroom. Good continental breakfast.
This is a great 3 star facility. Location is very good between Railway station and town center on a quiet street. Room was small and basic but clean and tidy with TV (limited channels) and AC. Bed linen and towels changed every day, toiletries topped up. Continental breakfast was large with a lot of choice, eat as much as you want, but choice was the same every day. We used the railway to make day trips to Ferrara and Ravenna, Interesting places to visit and easy journeys
great hotel with a close walk to the train station and the historic center
Great location, very close to downtown and close to the train station, clean rooms and friendly staff.
Friendly Pit stop in Bologna
Great location. Basic but very clean and comfortable and great value for money. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Coffee was lovely. They kept our luggage while we explored Bologna waiting for our train. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Small and friendly. We would happily return.
Not a large hotel, but friendly and well run. A walk of about 15 minutes to the centre of Bologna, but that wasn't an issue at all as it's such a lovely place to walk through. Check in at reception was very efficient and friendly. Breakfast is held in a smallish room downstairs, with a perfectly adequate selection to suit all tastes. Some good restaurants nearby. I would particularly recommend ristorante pizzeria nino (by no means just a pizza restaurant so don't be misled by the name). Our room was spacious and there was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. This is not a modern hotel by any means, but it has character. I would happily return on my next trip to Bologna.
Clean, Friendly staff, Good location
We had a lovely stay here, everything went smoothly with friendly helpful staff, a nice clean large room with a window. Small things like spare pillows and an extra blanket were appreciated. No long mirror in the bedroom but there was one in the hall. A nice location, a bit quieter than the centre of town but easy enough to walk everywhere. Breakfast was nice, no comaplaints.
A lovely hotel near to the railway station and a short walk from the main tourist sites. Delightful and welcoming staff, spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable room, varied and filling breakfast choice, and good WiFi. If we return to Bologna this will be our first choice of hotel. Thank you!
Great location
Great location and close to local tourist area. The room was a decent price for location too, and less than 10 mins walk to main station. Could be quite noisy and heard doors banging a lot. I couldn’t find BBC or English channel on my TV - and oddly I had to leave my room key with reception when I left. Disconcerting!
OK hotel near city centre and station
Hotel close to station and easy to find. Check-in very friendly. The room was fine but slightly unusual layout for two adults and two children; one large double bed and one single bed. Breakfast OK. So good location for sight-seeing and transport.
Clean but less comfortable
Thin walls and uncomfortable bed, but clean room and reasonable service.
Comfortable room and good location
Our stay was very comfortable, good sized bedroom and bathroom with modern furnishings. Very conveniently located and the room was very quiet. Consistent hot water and a good hair dryer. There was a great little balcony but no table or chairs unfortunately. It would also be handy to have a kettle/coffee/tea services in the room, but the kitchen downstairs was a good alternative for the morning breakfast. The included breakfast was really good, and actually had plenty of gluten free options which was very surprising for me as a coeliac. The staff were very genuine and friendly!
A good stay
Its location is convenient to the Rail station and the centre of the city. There is a mini-market fairly close.
Thumbs Up
The single room is small as it is in the picture. Perfect if you plan to spend very little time in your room. Walking distance to everything. Great breakfast. Lovely staff. I would book again.
Visit Bologna for food & sites. Exceeded our expectations....
2 day visit
easy walk from the train short walk to centro and university area
Loved it!
We really enjoyed our stay in an excellent location (close to city centre, local markets and railway station) with good personal service and breakfast was good!
Excellent place to stay
perfect hotel!
i stayed in the albergo atlantic for two nights. the hotel was in the perfect location, my room was clean and comfortable, and the staff are incredibly friendly! i would defjnjfeh recommend.
Hotel was great. Staff was great. Location was great.
Spotless but basic.
Friendly staff. Immaculate room and great breakfast. VERY basic room with firm mattress. The tub hand sprayer was awkward.
Clean and Charming
I enjoyed my stay from the moment I arrives. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and then the room itself was clean and bright. When I had issues with my electrical, the man at the desk did everything he could to help me and didn't stop until everything was fixed. The hotel had old charm to it that fit right in with the rest of the city. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff were able to help me with my questions. I ended up staying an extra night because I enjoyed it so much.
Excellent stay!
Very comfortable stay, right in the center of Bologna, within walking distance to the train station, as well as the historic center.
Good location near station. Good air con and wifi. Would stay again.

Good location and good staffs
Centre albergo
Friendly staff, very clean, good breakfast. Just a short walk to Plazza Maggiore
Very nice near the storic center
Very Kind people at the hotel Breakfast was Ok I wish more local products better quality Gracious the hotel archtecture spacious room for a such small and antique city as Bologna
Good value in a nice location.
Well located between the station and the centre and a very short walk from the canal quarter with the best trattorias. Lovely staff with good English. Nice breakfast for an Italian budget hotel. Room a bit tired but nice and spacious with good air conditioning.
Very small room, not enough roof height to even stand straight in half of the room. No tissue holder in the toilet, thats the first time I have seen that.Rooms were clean and there is a lift, thats good.
A nice surprise
There's more to this hotel than meets the eye. The hotel staff are great and so accommodating. Our room is what made our short visit so great though; apart from being clean, the bed was very big and comfortable and we loved our terrace/balcony. The breakfast is better than most!
Exceeded my expectations
Very nice basic place to stay. a little tricky to find, maybe but once you're there it's a very central, convenient place. My room was comfortable but basic, slightly scuffed paint on wall by bed but otherwise very, very clean, looking out on to a light well in the middle of the building. Bedding and towels of good quality; breakfast very acceptable though breakfast room is quite small. Speedy wi-fi worked well once I got on. The guy at reception was very helpful and efficient and tolerated my very rusty Italian! He gave me a good recommendation for dinner. A good place to stay in this very attractive city and reasonably priced. If you arrive by car, parking may be a problem but since I don't even know how to drive and came from the station, not a problem. Taxi to airport: 18 euros, exactly as the reception guy predicted.
Convenient to train
good price for decent accommodations. check in was easy, room was clean and fairly spacious.
Close to lots of markets and shops
Simple room big enough, wifi good , great breakfast with boiled eggs , fresh fruit cereal. Gd vale for money
Sweet and cozy hotel close to the heart of Bologna
A very cozy room with wooden roof, absolutely loved the place. Air-conditioning, comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Excellent location, it's in the middle of Bologna Centrale and Piazza Maggiore. Decent breakfast with fresh fruit. Will visit Bologna again just for staying at this hotel :D
Nice, clean and beautiful hotel
Beautiful and clean room with beautiful small terrace along with nice view. Very close to downtown and the most attractions. Located in a traditional street. very close to central train and bus station.
Central Bologna
Ideal location to visit Bologna, just a short walk from Bologna Centrale railway station and close to the historic centre.
Comfy cool and clean
Comfortable and clean. Enjoyed the location as it was close to the railway and bus station, and the center of town with restaurants, monuments, etc.
Comfortable, cool and cozy hotel!
Great hotel for the money. 2we would stay again!
Nice Hotel for the price.
This is a very good 3 star hotel for the price. Located close to the train station as well as the centre of town. Great Gelato place across the road. Would stay here again. Staff are friendly as well
Great hotel
Clean, confortable rooms, small place, what gives a sensation of homely hotel. Id stay here again
Hidden Gem
This hotel is an ideal location for anyone wanting to explore Bologna, its a ten minute walk to the main square and is a short walk to the main train station(ideal for tourist destinations in northern and central Italy)
loved Albergo Atlantic
The owner is very nice and accommodating. Great location about 10 minutes from the train station and an easy 5-10 minute walk to all the historic sites. Lots of restaurants nearby. The rooms are pretty basic, but the beds and linens were great. Breakfast also very good.
Very convenient, clean hotel with great staff.
Very convenient, clean hotel with great informative staff but...... the walls are SO thin. We could hear every cough and snore and use of toilet. So had very little sleep and when we finally got to sleep, we woke up at 5.30am exhausted. Its such a shame as the staff an lovely, the hotel so convenient being 5 mins from the train station and 5 mins from the main piazza. If you are a heavy sleeper then you will be fine!
Close to train station
Very thin walls-could hear neighbor snoring. Staff very helpful but lack knowledge of good places to eat. Better to depend on apps like Yelp or guide books for recommendations. Elevators are on half floors so you have to carry luggage for about 6 steps.
Very nice clean room with everything we needed in a great location. Quite noisy at night due to the stone corridor / stairs outside the room, but other than that good.
We stayed one week and really enjoyed it very friendly staff and well situated for a site seeing city break
Little gem of a hotel
I thoroughly enjoyed my 2-night stay at this little gem of a hotel. The only negative was the small size of the enclosed shower, but the friendly and accommodating staff at the front desk more than made up for any small flaws. I would definitely stay here again!
Perfect for the price
Italians like flat pillows. Everything else superb.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, central location.
Recommended for a stay in Bologna
It was a very nice and comfortable hotel, close to the center of the city. My opinion it was a great hotel for the money paid. The hotel is very nice maintained and the staff are very friendly.
Small, quiet hotel in the city center.
My husband and I stayed for just one night, but it was perfect. The room and facilities were clean and quiet, the staff was friendly, and they have air conditioning!
Comfortable hotel near the centre of Bologna.
We spent three days in Bologna. It is a very historic city with many porticos and churches. We took the bus out to Meloncello and walked up to the San Luca basillica- walking up the two kilometres long portico. We also climbed up the tower near the centre for great views of Bologna. You can hire bikes and cycle around Bologna on cycle paths. We spent one evening watching a film in the open air in the Place Maggiore. Plenty of churches to see and the oldest University in Europe. The Ducati museum is there too for motorbike enthusiasts.
Perfect location
This hotel was perfect. Central and quiet. Breakfast was supreme. The room was big and we didn t hear any noise!
Cute hotel in a good location
We spent two very comfortable nights at this hotel, which is in an excellent central location. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, the shower worked well...
Yes, this place is good!
What's not to like here? The previous reviews are good and this was more than what we expected. Wish more hotels were like this. Would definitely stay here again.
Overall Happy with this stay.
Main male hotel clerk was friendly and helpful. The other two (1 female 1 male were ok). Room was clean. Close to train station was useful and area seemed safe. Plus that breakfast was included.
You can walk to everywhere from here!
This is a nice hotel. Room was basic but clean and well cared for. The staff was exceptional - thank you for all your help! Very nice breakfast. We walked all over the city from here - it's a beautiful city!
Great
Great
Bologna for a night
We were greeted by friendly staff who welcomed us warmly. The room was very clean and tidy although the walls were very thin as you could hear the people in the next room. Breakfast was continental style and table service was exceptional.
Im not sure why this hotel is ranked so highly. Maybe all of the hotels by the train are garbage, in which case this one wouldn't be much better. A lot of noise, very small rooms and a breakfast that wasn't very great. Toast, jam and an expresso.
Super - couldn't ask for better - bargain !
Easy short walk straight from train station, in a lovely classic street. Super clean, super pleasant decor, very comfortable bed, perfect en suite, very good breakfast, all staff very helpful and Betti the lady doing evening reception a star - great English and extra helpful.
Highly recommended, great hotel!
Great location (close to central train station, all churches and museums), excellent service, very clean rooms and very good breakfast. Hope to stay there if I'll ever visit Bologna again, hopefuly soon :)
Great for a city break.
I needed somewhere to stay near my arrival at Bologna Station as a 'pit stop' so I could grab an early flight the next day. Location was superb for the centre and all it's amenities. Being on expenses, I am required to spend as little as possible and was pleasantly suprised. It was clean, had everything I needed fo a one night stay. Staff were great, booking me a very early taxi. I would happily come here again for a city break or if my business brings me back to Bologna.
3 nights stay
good location, near to train station and places of interest. good and friendly staff
conveniently located
Nice hotell close to the train station. It is also close to the airport and centrally located.
Solo New Year Trip.
My room was a single room. Twin-sized bed. The room is small but perfect for sleeping. The few items the hotel may consider is pillows with some pillow. The 2 pillows I had were so flat that I couldn’t make 1 normal pillow. I found a few hairs. The shower was so tiny but please keep in mind this is normal and the hotel can’t really modify it. The hotel does have a nice continental style breakfast which is tasty. They are friendly.
