Its so quiet its ghostly

Incredibly clean and quiet option, we enjoyed our stay here. Parking was very convenient underneath with a lift up to our room. Outlook very pleasant out towards the trees. While the motel is a little dated, everything was in good working order and very comfortable.

Great location and price; kitchenette needed some maintenance. Hallway smelt of cigarette smoke 😪

Lovely big room exceeded my expectations

Easy check in, staff were very olite and welcoming. My room had a unpleasant smell which was a downfall.

Spider in my place and water pressure too high and didnt know a way to get to the pool. ?.

Bed was very small, decor was really old and dated.

I booked this property for the pool - based on the lovely pictures on the website. However, the paint was peeling and very tired and needed of up keep.

Friendly, lovely staff. The cleaner does an immaculate job. Rooms were well maintained. Facility is safe, secure and easy driving to local eateries, beach and the mall.

No cleaning or towels / toiletries on Sunday. Fridge stank like old fish and kitchenette floor dirty. No active cleaning products used. Cleaned the place as soon as we arrived. Wouldn't use again.

Easy parking and shopping

Great location easy access to lots of food options. The rooms are very old- lots of wear and tear. There was no free wifi. Kitchenette was adequate and shower was powerful.

I had a corner room that was light and bright. The room had everything one needs for a comfortable and hassle-free stay, and there were excellent parking options. Proximity to a range of amenities and the motorway. I highly recommend the Albany Rosedale Motel.

Bathroom needs more attention, dirty surfaces. No information about the area in the room like reception number to call, Restaurants in the motel or area, etc Wifi is not free - who does that these days?

Remember reception and motel closes at 9pm

We have stayed here before and will again but this time there were 2 isues. First the reception and building closes at 9pm and we were not quite there. I phoned at 8.30 and said it would be close and was told to ring the same number when we arrived and someone would come to check us in. Unfortunately no one answered the number when i rang on arrival at 9.06. Luckily the building was open and another late guest was waiting. There was a different number to ring on the front desk. He had already called it 2 minutes after 9. About 15 mins later someone came and the check in itself was quick and efficient. Then this morning I asked for a tax reciept. I was told and given one MINUS the booking site comission the motel pays, not what I paid for the room. Is that actually legal?? I haad no idea what Hotels.com got as a cut for my using their website. Perhaps they should advertise it. Otherwise the night was fine.

Location is good. Toilet seat very loose, door lock hard to open, bed quite soft .

I liked how close it was to facilities and eateries. Bathroom and kitchen area nice but no milk to go with tea and coffee. I did not like the state of the sleeping area. Very dated and bed not up to scratch. No spare pillow or blanket. Tv reception shocking

Fit for purpose ,I just needed a place to sleep for one night at the start of a work trip north. Clean, dated, worn, with a very average bed (past its use by date). Would possibly stay again for the same reason.

The bathroom shower door didn't close properly and was dirty. The TV had a smear of something across it and the headboard was stained. I came back late and had to go through a back entrance from the back carpark it did not feel safe.

Enjoyed the spa pool very relaxing after a long day .

Nice property, good aminities. But no free wifi was a bit sad.

Loved that the Motel was easy to find, excellent no cost parking was a big bonus. Rooms were very tidy with everything you would need. Would have been good if they supplied milk for tea/coffee in the fridge. Wi-fi was extra, in this day and age that's pretty lame. I found the duty manager to be dry with little to no conversation - people skills need upgrading.

The person booking us in wasn’t very personable, no milk in the room for drinks, checkout was 10am, cleaner opened door at 9.45 and went to walk into the room, fortunately myself and my wife were dressed also we could have been having’special’ time together, not acceptable to do that.

Good for what we needed

The person on reception was only interested in telling us where to park, and about sensitive smoke detectors. Pathetic offering of cheap coffee sachets and lemon tea only (but for some reason alot of salt & pepper sachets) No milk offered (and nowhere nearby to buy any). Plumbing made a ridiculous high pitched squeal when the cold water was run. Bed was horribly soft and only one pillow each. Would not visit again

Dirty greasy sofa in reception area was not a good first impression, however room was clean. In house Korean restaurant (not tried as only light food wanted) plus immediately adjacent 4 or 5 generally fast Korean food shops were the only walking distance options. Two wi-fi options offered, neither of which would stay connected one floor up and 20m from reception, despite receptionist's assurances. Fortunately, plenty of data available to hot spot from my cell phone.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Had an issue with a few areas that weren't cleaned properly and they made allowances for that. Parking was very nice - below the building, so shaded and out of sight.

The drain in the bathroom sink was blocked and black scum floated out of the drain.

The room had everything we needed and wanted although there was no wifi. No extra pillows, blankets and no hangers. We liked the presentation of the bedding which stated their name.

Very dated property straight out of the 1980s. Our bathroom had cracked tiles and cistern and spa bath didnt operate as no power to it. Pointed out on checkout and person just smiled and nodded, no apology offered.

This is the 2nd time my husband & i have stayed its very cosy & we will definitely stay again

Comfy bed, great air con, quiet at night, covered parking really helpful. Only regret was the pool was not open on Monday but otherwise a good choice for an overnight stay. Thank you.

Motel was conveniently located close to where we wanted to be and to the large shopping centre. Room condition was average with mold on headboard, extremely soft mattress, and shower head that couldn’t be angled properly. Facilities otherwise adequate

Good position for us visiting family in Mairangi Bay. 6 minutes away. The receptionist was welcoming and allowed us in early. Lovely to have an underground parking spot, with a lift to our large, spotless room. As 80 yr olds, we liked the comfortable beds, the accessible shower and blockout drapes. It was very quiet, away from the road. I would have liked a bedside lamp.

Really nice motel. Would happily stay there again. Large spacious room.

Accessible and pleasant stay

The best thing I can say is that the non-stick frying pan was good. Now, here's to the reality of it! Check-in, no one there, and so we WAITED, it was slow, and no warm welcome or information. Just given a key that was hard to use to unlock the door. The corridor stinks!! Once we went in, we were taking back by the very old decor and furniture, but here we are. The beds were old, I mean like sleeping in bed at an old family batch in the middle ocno where old!! Lumpy, mattress protector was disgusting, and the sheets had stains and narks. How we didn't get bed bugs is beyond us. The walls are grimy and vomitious, like never washed. The carpet didn't look vacuumed, and there were years of grime on walls, doors, and skirts. I'm not even talking about the rotten skirts or dents in walls and furniture. I'm talking about the filth. The kitchen was poorly stalked. The fridge, while cold, had no shelving in the doors, so little storage and the exhaust fan over the stove was broken. So, if you cooked, you couldn't use the exhaust fan to extract smells. The bathroom was okay, but the shower was too low, great for a face wash or a kid. The sinks would drain, even from brushing your teeth. I had a bad back from the sleep. Terrible noise, the air con squealed, the curtains were old and torn. The TV was a basic freeview. They allowed noisy people to party and play loud music. When I went to the counter to address my concerns, there was NEVER anyone there to speak to. We left a day early

We booked a room for 3, there was only 2 plates, 2cups etc which we weren't happy about, and no wifi which you would expect, also the bed was uncomfortable i would think it needs replacing

Liked my view, the pools and the dining options available. My room was fine but a friends room had a very dated duvet cover with holes it it.

The whole property was very dated. Maybe the worst bed I’ve slept on in my life in terms of comfort. Every cupboard has dents and one was off its hinges. Torn wallpaper, dented walls and a cracked toilet cistern. Outside the room there was a very large piece of corflute plastic over a section of ceiling that had severe water damage. Chipped plaster on almost every exposed corner and visible scrub marks on all the walls also made the whole place feel dirty. Shower pressure was very good and the bath was small but good too.

Covered parking and elevator access was perfect for my partner who recently had knee surgery.

It was convenient to where we needed to be, clean, with good parking underneath but very tired and we had to ask for bedside lighting. Heating thermostat was in a dark corner and needed a torch to see the controls. Also it must be the last place in the country with no free Wi-Fi !!

This was a cheap stay for Auckland accommodation so I really can't be too negative. It's a no thrills Motel ie no SKY, you pay extra for wifi and the rooms could be updated a little on the plus there is the Spa pools. But otherwise a pleasant stay, the gentleman on desk was nice and the hotel itself wasn't noisy nor was there anything surrounding that was a noise or disturbance issue. There's a Korean BBQ restaurant next door or it's a 5 minute drive to Albany Mall.

Only thing could improve on is free Wi-Fi

Clean and what we needed for two nights. Was very loud outside and the windows are very thin. There wasn’t enough cups for the three people who stayed in there and all the cutlery was mismatched. Served it’s purpose though.

Due to unforseeen circumstances, I had to cancel this leg of our journey. I emailed first on Thursday 18/1/23 informing Expedia of the change of plans. I did not hear back regarding the cancellation so I telephoned the Motel directly and was told by the proprietor that because the booking was made through Expedia, I needed to make contact with (Expedia) directly. So I emailed again on 20/1/23 stating why we could not travel further to Albany and requested that a refund or partial refund be used to offset an accommodation to be booked in the south side of the city. To this day I have not received acknowledgement to my two emails or on any aspects of this matter. So far our travel experiences, accommodations included, through Expedia have not let us down so I only hope that there is a fantastic explanation why this glitch has occurred. Little more expensive than we had thought - but I think thats just the prices in Auckland these days. Property was good, lovely service and quiet rooms.

We have stayed here before. As kiwi motels go it is excellent. The only reason i said 4 not 5 for comfort is the bed is soft sided and i prefer hard. This pkace is all you need on a business trip to Albany.

No details provided about facilities, eg wotif said there was a sauna. There was no signage or compendium to indicate where it was. No additional pillows or blankets in the room. Overall it felt pretty tired, ok for one night but would not want to be there for longer than one night
