Beautiful hotel

It’s a wonderful hotel. It’s small so the attention to detail and comfort is above and beyond. The staff is incredibly friendly and gracious; the beach and amenities are clean and well-attended; and the overall feel is that of staying in a private treehouse.

A good hotel with a beautiful beach. The staff are friendly. The food is excellent. The room we had was the apartment - would not recommend as super loud overlooking the street (lots of traffic / noise) and very dark (bit like a cave!).

Brenda was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, while Stefano’s local tips and friendly demeanor made exploring Tulum even more enjoyable. They truly made us feel at home. We had a wonderful stay overall. The property is well maintained and the service is excellent. I do not recommend going to their sister hotel for the Beach Club access. There’s not much of a beach club there. We preferred the beach setting on the property.

Beautiful villas right on the beach. Perfect location with several restaurants/bars nearby. Great staff/service. Great breakfast and beach bar service. Very thankful to the staff for helping us find an emergency doctor and dentist after a fall. The floors are very slick so be careful if wet. Love Alaya. Love Tulum.

The workers are very friendly, but the property needs maintenance. Out of the 7 nights I was there, I had to catch eight frogs between the shower and the bathroom.

Great cozy hotel right on the beach. Truly an amazing experience. The only downfall is since it’s on the beach you can only get to the hotel by taxi and it cost $30-$40 for every time you enter and leave the area to go into the city. And taxi drivers are always trying to maximize how much they charge. For that reason alone I will not stay in the beach area again. That was too frustrating. The first night I arrive the taxi drivers went on strike and there wasn’t any taxis available the second day I was in Tulum. I felt trapped. Be ready to spend a lot of money on their food as well. My friend and I would spend $60-$90 on breakfast alone at the hotel. I will say the food is super clean. They offer all healthy choices. They offer you one free healthy drink a day .i chose a shot of tumeric and ginger. Waking up on the beach was also breathtaking. The stars at night are amazing.

This property was amazing.

This place is really perfect. A great location within walking distance to the restaurants and shops but also quiet and laid back to relax at the absolutely gorgeous beach. The property is wonderful. It is a small place, it is surrounded by jungle plants, white sand and the turquoise sea is steps away. The small houses and spacious rooms are beautiful. One thing to keep in mind is that AC is off between 8:30am and 6:30pm. We are used to having AC on all day at our home but honestly we were not bothered by this limitation. I really don’t want to write this review so that too many people find out about this little gem. I would not hesitate to stay here again when in Tulum.

Absolutely incredible staff. 12/10 customer service. I’ve stayed in Tulum multiple times and this has by far been the best as far as service goes.

My stay at Alaya Tulum was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty and tranquility of this incredible place. The entire property is impeccably maintained, with attention to detail evident in every corner. The lush greenery, the artfully designed spaces, and the serene beachfront created an atmosphere of pure relaxation. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Stefan helped us with reservations and the lady who assisted us at check-in were incredibly welcoming, making sure we felt at home right away with a special upgrade to an ocean front room and some champagne and strawberries. Their warmth and professionalism set the tone for the rest of our stay. Throughout our time at Alaya, the entire service staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Whether it was the delicious meals, the perfectly maintained rooms, coffee brought to us in the morning. Simply lovely. Cleanliness was impeccable, and the care taken in maintaining the property added to the overall sense of serenity and luxury. The combination of beautiful surroundings, outstanding service, and those special little touches made our stay at Alaya Tulum an unforgettable experience. I can't recommend this place highly enough for anyone looking to escape to a paradise where every detail is carefully curated for an exceptional stay.

Beautiful location and the property had many details I loved. The only issue was room #11 where I stayed had poor WiFi connection.

It was relaxing and nice ocean view

Alaya was perfect for our short getaway. The room we had was an ocean front, second level, full view and it was absolutely perfect. One of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed in, and I do consider myself well travelled. We really needed the break and so the sound of the waves, the sun warming you and waking you in the morning, it felt like heaven. The hotel was the perfect size for us- small and right up close to the beach. We enjoyed the free yoga in the morning and the teacher was great. She went through it very slow since we’re beginners. The drinks were fab, food delicious, staff was very nice and attentive. Ronnie was super kind, him and Henry made it a good time on the beach with wonderful service and cocktails. Stefan at the front desk was very thorough with information, he cared and wanted to make it a wonderful stay for us. Chakra session with Georgina was life changing! Seriously, if you’re ready, don’t miss out! The Mayan Clay massage was wonderful and relaxing. Loved Alaya! We don’t get to take adult only trips often but we would love to say we’ll be back in the future! Thank you Alaya team

I loved my stay at Alaya Tulum! The xuatomwr service was great. Stefan was so helpful. The staff came out to sing for my birthday and greeted me with chocolate cake! I felt so welcomed and safe. I also loved the food and got great service from Ismael and Gabriela!

The staff was beyond exceptional! Not only was the room excellent but they were quick with any minor fixes we needed. They also helped surprise me for my birthday. Cannot say enough great things about them! The beach was also well maintained and the food/drinks were great.

We had an amazing 2 day stay at Alaya. Front desk staff were so helpful. Daily yoga at 9am was an excellent offering that even my 5 year old son was welcomed. Parking was super convenient and the location of Alaya in my opinion was fantastic. Perfectly walkable to surrounding restaurants and the overall property had an amazing atmosphere. Celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary which Alaya staff made even more special. I cannot say more other than I highly recommend.

I didn’t like that we were not able to ungrade our room when the facility was super empty. There wasn’t many people there when we stayed and apparently they didn’t have availability for room upgrade. We got a room that was located right above the reception area. There was also a lot sea weed at the shore.

First time in Tulum and at the Alaya ! Great environment and vibe. Excellent for couples. There is no pool parties or loud music. And the vibe is amazing.

Amazing spot, impeccable service. A true gem

This hotel might be alright for some, but be aware of a few drawbacks. First, the advertised photos don't accurately reflect the condition of the hotel. Second, if you value peace and quiet, this might not be the best choice. There's limited noise insulation, and we were unfortunately disturbed every night by loud guests upstairs. Despite repeated complaints to the management, the issue wasn't addressed, significantly impacting our sleep quality. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a relaxing and quiet stay.

We were a group of girls staying, felt like the people at reception were slightly intrusive. They kept an eye on our every move, which was a bit weird and made comments on what we had done in our room. The resort overall was nice and the beach was lovely, although there were heaps of seaweed they were not getting rid of.

I loved the vibe of this hotel, calm and relaxing which is opposite of the party vibe in tulum. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I did a yoga class that was fantastic with a wide open and breeze room. The chef was kind enough to prepare a simple meal for my husband who had a stomach bug. Gaby went out of her way to bring my breakfast out to the beach :) Tulum has really changed from our last trip 7 years ago and it feels super busy but this hotel makes you feel very relaxed! loved it

Five star resort, felt like a two star experience.

I was extremely dissapointed in the way that the staff manage the loss of my headphones. Since it’s a five star resort, I’m expecting a five star service with every situation prestened. I left my headphones in my room the day that I checked out. I could see in find my iPhone that the headphones were at the resort, I let them know inemediatly, and for three days I provided the staff the location as I could see the headphones had left the hotel. The response from the staff was quite complaisant as I was told there was nothing that it could be done. This is not two star service not even one. Not only I will not be going back to your hotel, but I would be informing my friends to frequent your hotel to find another resort, since it’s not a safe place to be staying at.

the area is very nice, right in the center of everything which is awesome however the room has very poor Air conditioner system, it didn't work that well in my room and they only turn on between 8pm to 8am, imagining how hot the weather is in Tulum....we also booked an ocean view room and our room view got blocked by a big tree, couldn't see any view which was very disappointed but when we requested to change the room, first they said they will check and tried their best however nothing was done, 2 nights later I checked back with them again, they said they will cut the tree, however, they only cut a few top branches, which still blocked our view... so reaqlly disappointing.

The Alaya Tulum lived up to all of our expectations. Intimate, quiet, while still giving you that "resort" feeling. The service was perfect in every way. Gaby was especially wonderful, as was the main dining room manager during our stay. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful, we cannot say enough good things about them all. Access to the beach is immediate, comfortable, and had everything we could have wanted. The care they take in keeping their grounds top notch is impressive, it is simply beautiful!!! The food from their dining room was top notch as far as my wife and I were concerned, and access to other great food vendors and a great bar (say hi to Salvador), were just steps away, with tons of choices, good music, and friendly people. The room we had was very nice. Large shower, decent sized bathroom, nice wardrobe and drawers, and the bedroom was good sized with a very comfortable mattress and pillows. With a very nice porch to relax on with beautiful views, that the staff delivered coffee and tea to every morning for a great start to our day. I could go on forever, but to finish, I really have no negative comments to offer. Enjoy!

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Alaya! The best part was the staff who made us feel like family. The resort is very beautiful, quiet, and close to activities.

The Host was very friendly and communicative with any questions. Hospitable with open arms.

Sandra and the team were very professional, attentive and fun. Very beautiful place with great scenery. Highly recommend going there.

We loved this hotel so pretty my only concern and advice for the hotel management is they need a bathroom by the beach area and they need a better air conditioning it was not cooling enough and we should be able to turn it on and off other then that it was amazing All the workers amazing so nice and they help w everything not them

The small intimate atmosphere & beach exposure with confortable lounges & protective umbrellas. The fact that they gave my husband a room with two full beds instead of a queen or king bothered me.

Amazing hotel. Amazing location, private beach. Nice big rooms with comfortable bed. We didn’t have tv in the room which wasn’t a problem. Morning yoga and plenty of trips which can be arranged at the reception. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

We stayed in an ocean villa. Beautiful view of the ocean from your room/bed, especially amazing to watch the sunrise! Hotel staff and kitchen were so nice and friendly. Made our vacation very special!

Service, in general, is outstanding, front desk, waiters and all staff are incredibly helpful and nice. I must say that the room I booked seemed way much nicer in the pictures than in reality. My room was next to the Yoga lounge and restaurant and noise started very early in the mornings, so we couldn't rest as planned.

It was a very relaxing stay. Waking up everyday to a beautiful breakfast and doing yoga at 9am was so rejuvenating. The location is very good and easy to walk to restaurants and entertainment. There’s a pharmacy right across the street if you forget anything. The parking lot is also across the street so you can safely park and start vacationing.

This is a boutique hotel, quaint and friendly. The staff is accommodating to your every need. The hotel is in walking distance of several amazing restaurants and shops. There is a great outdoor local bar right across the street with local food vendors and ice cream. I would recommend upgrading to an ocean view room if you can. Also visit the property’s other hotels, they are in walking distance and offer great food, pools, and views.

Best place to stay in Tulum beach for a relaxing, boutique hotel experience. Away from the traffic and one of the true gems left on the beach road.

I really enjoyed my stay. The property was beautiful and the staff was amazing. I really enjoyed the morning turmeric shots that were delivered to our rooms. Overall I had a great stay and would recommend this place to anyone.

We loved the location, close to shopping and dining. The daily yoga was amazing! Great beach front beds and lounger, no reservations necessary with plenty for hotel guests. Not to mention the room and views were stunning

My boyfriend and I came to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary and we had the best time. The staff are the friendliest and very attentive to our needs including ensuring we had more than enough coffee and water every day. Our room was perfect as well, very clean and cool all day to save us from the hot Mexican sun

Amazing !!!

I travel often and this is on the list of one of the best places I've stayed at. I had the oceanfront room and I highly recommend that room again. Rodrigo and the other staff were so accommodating and help coordinate other activities for me. The food and massages were phenomenal as well!

This was in my TOP favorite 10 stays ever. Everyone is so lovely and accommodating. The service was so great. Was extremely eco and awesome. Dog friendly. Beach was epic. Food was epic. Alaya is a beautiful beach hotel and we had a very relaxing stay in a treehouse. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent, both on the property and outside (a number of great dining options in the vicinity). We rented bicycles a few times too. The beach area itself isn’t vast and has rather few shading options. What was very important for is is that the hotel is pet friendly. We loved our stay and look forward to visiting again.

Most amazing stay of my life, had travel troubles but they were so accommodating and made sure to do what they needed to keep us comfortable. 100/100 would recommend this resort and hope to come back again one day!

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and had a fantastic time. The hotel is beautiful and located away from the main bars so not too noisy, however still in walking distance to the nearest busy area. David and Carla who work there were both extremely welcoming, professional and very helpful. We stayed in one of the top floor villas with a view out to sea which was absolutely perfect. I will never forget the sight and sound of the waves lapping up against the shore in the evening! It was a special stay for us and David and Carla ensured that everything we had planned went smoothly! All the staff are professional and tentative, and it really is an exceptional place to stay and fully relax. Make sure to try the shrimp tacos at the hotel - absolutely delicious! If you want a memorable stay, in a beautiful location then I would highly recommend this hotel.

Alaya is perfection!!

My solo trip was nothing short of perfection! Alaya is always my go-to hotel in Tulum for its ideal location and sophisticated simplicity and beauty and attention to detail - from fresh water jugs in the room to kopal burning throughout the footprint - to the artful toiletry displays to the extraordinary/attentive service staff (Fernando in the kitchen is the best). Every need was met efficiently and quickly. My morning yoga in the upstairs shala was the perfect way to start the day along with daily coffee service delivered to my garden patio. The unexpected invitation to the wine painting class was one of the many highlights. I can't sing Alaya's praises loudly enough!!!
