Enjoyable stay in Madrid

The hotel is conveniently located in the Malasana neighbourhood, a short walk from Plaza Espana. There is an underground station located just steps from the hotel. Very easy and convenient to get around. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only issues for us was that the room was extremely small, barely any room to turn. Also, there was no exhaust fan in the shower, so a room that small gets very humid and takes a while to dry.

Easy transportation to different attractions. There are so many choices of restaurants in close proximity

Rooms and hallway Smelled like sh*t. The rooms are tiny. Breakfast buffet was basic. Charged 36€ for parking per day. The parking lot was smaller than the average bathroom. Would not recommend at all….

Very stylish and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and keen to please. Only problem was our room layout; small things that niggled, like the bathroom hooks being on the opposite side to the way the shower door opens and the fact that you have to turn on the room lights to use the toilet during the night because they are all on the same circuit. We also didn’t think breakfast was worth the €17 per person. However it’s location is great and we would definitely stay there again.

Best hotel in Madrid - great stay

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The room was modern, clean and comfortable with so many little touches that made my short stay perfect. Compared to other hotels in the area, Akeah goes the extra mile to make the guest experience fabulous. I will definitely be looking to book it again when I'm next in Madrid.

Mold

Mold!!! Had a reservation for two separate beds(staying with my teenage kid) and rather than telling there was no available before I arrived(thus permitting me the chance to find another hotel) I decided wasn’t informed till I showed up. Did I mention mold?

What a hidden gem! Needed a central Madrid hotel at a reasonable price and Akeah showed on the Hotels.com options at a reasonable price with a strong review score... figured for one night, what's the worst that can happen? On arrival, the reception team were brilliant, explaining everything clearly and even let us have our rooms really early which was very much appreciated. The room is typically central city a bit small, but looks brand new with a really comfy bed and nice touches like a pod coffee machine. Some cool touches on the branding, and the buttons in the loo made me smile too :) Location is great - right next to the metro system and short walk to the city centre. A great night's sleep, a friendly team, a modern, spotless room and a perfect location.... at a great price. This will very much be my "go-to" hotel for my trips to Madrid :)

My stay started with a substandard room. However, the manager and front desk staff were very helpful and diligent so I ended up with a larger room. I feel they were genuinely concerned!

Great small hotel in Madrid

This hotel in Madrid has been a good experience. The location is excellent. It is a small, new hotel, with a very modern style and appearance. The most remarkable thing is all the staff, very kind, helpful, friendly, always attentive. The only drawback is that the room is small, but it is understandable because hotels in the center do not have much space. In general, it is a hotel that we highly recommend.

The rooms are extremely small. It’s hard to tell from the photos. The shower opens up directly into the room not into the bathroom. You do not get individual control over heat or A/C. It’s building level. Also the edgy branding is weird, like a 13 year old designed the hotel.

Itt was good. I enjoyed it. It is a safe place to stay and located right in the middle of everything.

The room was very very small. The wash basin did not empty properly. The immediate area around the hotel was dirty and scruffy. On the whole, the hotel was not good value for the money. There were silly and childish notes everywhere, insinuating bad language. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel was within about 20 minutes walk of the excellent Gran Via area.

Great location, staff, nice breakfast. The only downside is that the rooms are very small, and there is no place to rest your suitcase. If you are a solo traveler, it's ok, but might be tough for two people. I would still go back.

Lovely hotel but disappointing check in experience

Overall a very pleasant stay, Patricia on reception was so helpful when checking us in and the hotel itself is lovely. The hotel’s rooftop bar and pool was stunning and had beautiful views. We did have a disappointing experience after check in when we discovered we were given a double room when I had specifically requested twin beds. I was then told by the man at reception that there were no twin rooms left even though I don’t think he actually checked this. This was not ideal as I was staying with my mother who requires her own bed. If the hotel had told us prior to arrival that there was not a twin room available I would have booked a different hotel. Other than this, our experience at the hotel was mostly positive, the kettle in our room broke on our last day and this was fixed almost immediately. We were also given free drinks vouchers on our last night by Patricia after the situation with the room which was a nice gesture. The rooms are beautiful but a little impractical for families and friends staying together as the shower room wall is see through and you can see into the bathroom which does not allow for very much privacy. But on the whole it is a lovely hotel and decent value for money.

Great centrally located place! As other reviews noted, the rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Great shower and enough storage space in the bathrooms for toiletries. Loved the rooftop to hang out on for before dinner drinks!

The rooms were modern and clean although small. The breakfast was good with a variety of foods and a helpful and friendly staff. The front desk staff was extremely polite and helpful especially Marta and Emma.

Tiny tiny rooms… the shower room can’t open. There are much better options for that price

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. We only have breakfast. That was good value. And good options. Room was super nice. View was good. Easy accessible to transport, shops, restaurants , shopping. I will recommend to everyone.

Great spot in an excellent location

This hotel was perfect for what I needed. Whilst the room was on the smaller size (not ideal when you have multiple bags) it was perfectly good for what I needed. I stayed for 3 nights and had a very comfortable stay. The hotel’s branding is quite quirky which I liked but it might not be to everyone’s taste. Great location for seeing the sights and lots of places to eat also.

Decent hotel, service not so

Decent room, a bit small. Bed and sheets and towels, excellent. Shower as well. Service poor. Breakfast not great - poor quality food and coffee. Not eco friendly - using and wasting coffee capsules - plastic - on machines that more often don’t work. Sad to see such waste of plastic and corresponding pollution. Staff didn’t seem to care! Unfriendly checkout process - had to beg to get a receipt for the 2 nights stay!

A great little hotel located right in front of a metro station. The rooms are small but very well equipped with a very comfortable bed. There's a superb large rooftop terrace with plenty of chairs and a large pool, superior to many starred hotels in the area. A well-kept gem.

Meets expectation, but location is exceptional

Hotel and pool was great, but the reception check was SO SLOW, I struggled to keep standing while I waited, a massive queue formed and it didn’t seem to be noticed by the employees: I felt invisible , uncomfortable, and dizzy, when checking in.

Great vibe! Everything perfect

Great hotel, lovely rooftop pool area, friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast. We stayed for 2 nights and it was the perfect base for exploring Madrid, with a really good location whilst still being quiet at night. The only negatives are that the room is a little on the small side, which was fine for us with backpacks but might be a bit difficult with a suitcase. The shower opens into the room & the towel rail is above the toilet which we didn’t really like. The bathroom is also glass which means you can’t turn the light on at night without waking anyone else in the room up. The hotel is also adults only but they allow guest passes with children into the pool area, we didn’t realise this when we booked.

First time at the 2 year old hotel - very impressed - if you want a quiet nights sleep ask for an internal courtyard room - best sleep in Madrid ! Lovely pool area, great staff and spot on location

A small but well appointed room at the heart of the action in central Madrid! Easy access to the Metro. Lots of nearby bars and restaurants. A short walk to excellent theatre. An excellent restaurant and a rooftop pool. Great!

Great stay, great location

If you are gay, vegan, and/ or like vintage shopping, this location is great for you! The hotel was nice with good, clean rooms, water always at the front desk, and a lovely rooftop bar and pool. The room was on the smaller side but had a shelving unit that was really helpful for making more space for our stuff. The best part was the location. Such a great neighborhood with lots of vegan restaurants/ places with vegan options and cute stores and vintage stores. Super gay neighborhood which was awesome too! Would definitely come back. Some things were further away but the city is very walkable and we enjoyed the 20ish minute walks to some places. You could easily take the metro if you wanted too.

This was a great stay. We were only here for one night but it’s in a great, fun, lively neighborhood walkable to the Gran Via with all of the best shopping and iconic sites. The room was clean and front desk staff was lovely!

Could be better

It was not too bad nothing special. The staff attended the rooms daily but I was not impressed as do not think that the bed linen was ever changed during my stay. Also the towels I was given were the same for all my 5 day stay. Moreover,there was no kettle in the room, just a silly coffee machine, which would make expressos. I have paid for half board so breakfast and a dinner. The breakfast place did not have any good coffee and each time had to ask staff to make me one, every day answer was yes- only cappuccino 😂 as it would make any difference to make me any other coffee. Then hot food- I was never over one, had to work out, that it was in offer and then wait, as the waiter was busy, so the food delivered was not hot anymore. The fried eggs with bacon were terrible, soaked in oil. Probably, my overall score would have been better if that wasn’t for breakfast experience.

Fast check in, staff very attentive, room on the small side is or would be my only complain, because it doesn’t have a space for your luggage. Other than that, perfect. I was given a free (€50 normally) 3pm check out since my flight was at 7:40pm and I really appreciate that small but big gesture coming from them as a token of gratitude for my stay even though the room had just that complaint I for sure will come again and recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, quiet and luxurious Hotel stay. The restaurant offers a great variety of fresh dishes and the heated pool with incredible 360 views is as well a delight to enjoy and relax after a day of walking around or shopping. Petite but well designed. Everything you need.

Never again

Room was tiny and felt like staying in a goldfish bowl, it felt overlooked and there was no blind or voiles. Small hanging space with 4 hangers, no other place for clothes or any other bits & bobs so had to leave everything in my suitcase open at the bottom of the bed, taking up precious floor space. Toilet & washbasin adequate but the sign above the toilet is unnecessary and offensive. ‘If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush that s*** down’ is this considered ‘trendy’? Shower is separate with nowhere to hang towels. Bit of a nuisance having to remember to get them from the rack above the toilet. Useless coffee maker so asked for a kettle which was provided within minutes. Complimentary free drink voucher printed on one side with ‘where’s my f***ing drink’ is this trendy, funky? To me, just crass! Usual but slightly limited breakfast selection. Took a while to get the attention of staff to order from the hot menu. No fault of the girls though, they were doing their best. A better ordering system needed.

the hotel is very nice and new. the staff was very friendly and accommodating, area is close to everything walking and close to metro stop. However, the rooms are EXTREMLY small. no place to put the suitcases on the floor. only one the bed. no closet, just a small shelves unit. although its a nice hotel, due to the size of the room, i will not be staying there again. also, no mention ot acknolegment to being a platinum member.

Yes

Room is uncomfortable. Service not good. Personnel had to work extra giving the number of complaints they got. The fire alarm didn’t work and it would turn on several times in the day and at night. The issue was there before I arrived and they couldn’t fix it in the 6 days I stayed. I don’t recommend this hotel. It is well located, but there are many other hotels in the area.

The location was good it has metro stations near and about 15 min walk to gran via, rooms could be a little bigger and the A/c wasn't working or did not cooled

Excellent for a short break

Very close to noviciado metro station and carrefour express market. Staff were friendly, room was nice, spacious, had AC and a nice view of Malasaña. The pool upstairs is pretty refreshing on a hot day too. The area is safe, always well lit, and people are always around. Thanks for letting me call this place home during my stay. It was very cozy!
