Brilliant motel right on the foreshore. Easy walking distance from town with multiple restaurant choices. I loved Akaroa and this is a good choice if you want to stay in the area . Highly recommend

Great place to stay right on the waters edge

Wonderful and quaint

A quaint, quiet, comfortable place right on the bay with incredible views. Just a block or so from the town shops and restaurants, but far enough away you don’t hear them. Also just a stone’s throw from the dock where several wonderful bay tours and excursions begin. We did the EcoSeaker dolphin experience which had an excellent tour guide named Steve who is 5th generation in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facilities are well maintained, and the grounds offer many fun things to do…we played several games of giant chess. I would absolutely love to return.

It was good and handy. The door needed a bit of attention couldn’t lock it half the time

A nice older motel on the waterfront, the room was clean though somewhat tired looking. It was close to everything within the town, we would stay there again.

Rest and relax

The room overlooking the water is so tranquil and relaxing it’s much better and worth the extra money. Weather permitting it’s like a very peaceful retreat with great views across harbour and mountains

Decent accommodation by the waterfront.

Great location right on the waterfront. All attractions are in walking distance. Reception and information was not very helpful. Beanbag chairs were a nice touch for sitting by the water.

Pleasant motel right on the water

A large room with good facilities, pleasant staff, easy walk to many eating options. Fairly expensive but everything is in Akaroa

Great place to unwind

Stayed in a waterfront room. Great place to stay. Gorgeous outlook, nice to sit, relax and unwind. Handy to everything. Helpful staff. Bed a bit too soft for me, but that's just personal preference. Would stay again.

Great unit right on the water front (84) nice little balcony everything inside needed for cooking for yourself or walking 2 mins too multiple eating venues. Central too everything xxxxx

Old school kiwi motel, spacious, clean and perfect location

Great location, beautiful setting. Room set up nicely

The studio was fantastic with the lovely view. Large windows and a patio door leading to a balcony. The design was well thought out. One of the best accommodation I had stayed in. Very peaceful and quiet but it was a Thursday night and in August. Wish we could stay longer but we had to fly back to UK.

A bit dated. Can hear everything from the apartments above if you’re on the ground floor.

What a wonderful way to end our adventure in New Zealand. The staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Akaroa is a lovely town…thank you and peace 🙏

Wonderful family stay for a family of 6. Appreciated the place and the staff were absolutely amazing. Views money can't buy all round fantastic close to everything or a small drive down the way to more places and shops. Great wee township and diffinitly something for everyone kinda place.

We were looking forward to the say but felt a little let down for $200 plus. The unit was OK - a little tired and in need of a refresh - numerous wall gouges etc. A few teas and a plunger but no beans - does anyone drink instant in 2024? We don't usually complain but this is just a bit of a poor look for tourists to an iconic tourist spot in New Zealand. You can do better as regular travellers we kind of expect better.

Found the property very dated. we had a pleasant stay but no fan or heating in bathroom and on a very cold morning not inviting at all. Overall the property could do with a good clean and tidy.

Based on the available photo's the property appeared to be a lot newer than it actually is, and it is starting to show its age. Was also quite cold, heatong needs updating.

Incredible location, amazing view to water a few metres from the rooms. Great layout and amenities; two queen beds in separate areas worked well for us.

Property is tired and needs a lot of TLC. "Waterfront" description is a bit of a stretch of the truth when you assume you will have waterfront views. Only about half of the units have water front views. Parking is also tight when the large 4WD vehicles are parked beside

The motel has a lovely location however intending guests should note that "Daily Housekeeping" is not being provided as part of Covid safety measures.

Wonderful 2 night stay, right on the waterfront and in the centre of Akaroa. Outdoor games for the kids (and adults) and very reasonably priced kayak hire. The motel unit was a bit dated and worn out but it was clean. Great for the price!

We had a great stay. It’s a perfect location by the water and has all the amenities you would want for a weekend break.

Stunning views over the lake from the luxury of your own apartment

Great place to stay.

Brilliant setting with a beautiful view of the harbour. Facilities were all modern and well maintained. Roominess was perfectly adequate, bed was comfortable. We generally opt for budget accommodation, but the little extra we paid was very well worth it. Would recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

Happy and very content stay in Akaroa

Great location,, spacious room with kitchenette facilities ,, reasonable price for off season / August visit. Our 1st visit to Akaroa,, and so glad we did,, enchanting town.

We had a 1 br unit for two of us, but there is also a double bed in the lounge, which is not what we expected. It is hard for us to have guests.

Amazing views including snow on the hills. Even though it wa winter, the motel is very warm and cosy

A good stay in a good motel in a lovely town. One concern: some people may arrive and find they are placed, not in the building pictured, but across the stream in units that don’t look onto the harbour. Good idea to check.

Lovely setting. Spacious rooms. Good wifi. Tricky faucets to know when actually off & not dripping.

Filthy couch

We arrived early but the unit was ready and the receptionist was kind and friendly to let us in straight away. Later my partner felt uncomfortable after sitting in the extremely filthy couch. He developed itchiness and moved away from it. The couch has a dark colour cover on top. We didn’t come back to the lounge again. The bathroom was actually quite clean. We chose the unit with harbour view and the view was indeed beautiful from the lounge and the outdoor sitting. We would definitely recommend to rid of the couch.

Absolutely beautiful setting. Great little apartment, well equipped. Very comfortable for a week or more. We arrived early in the pouring rain and staff stored our bags, got our room ready early and notified us. We woke to birds, waves, no noise. The town is charming. Good food, happy locals, a theatre and grocery steps away.

Superb motel.

Excellent room that was spacious and contained everything we needed - staff super helpful. Excellent wifi and lots of tv channels.

Excellent location with an excellent view of the inlet. Very friendly staff. If I return to Akaroa, this is where I will book.

I didn't get the motel pictured on the website, the unit we got looked over a car park, it was very tired in need of an update. The carpet was stained and the mat looked like some shabby old unclean thing. The staff were nice and the actual checkout and in was easy to follow. I suggest you put in the actual motel you are promoting not the much nicer one next door, I expected what was shown!!

Especially good for young children as the sea is right there ..safe and shallow. Plus a little creek to play in. For older children too, outside billiard and tennis table, huge chess set and 4in-row. For the family canoes and a small boat to hire. So close to everything you need. 🤗

Wonderful location with stunning views over the harbour. Motel room and facilities while excellent. Would highly recommended this motel to anyone wishing to stay in Akaroa.

The location was quiet, right on the waterfront and the unit had all day sun and nice views. The staff we saw were friendly.

Lovely sea frontage property, room clean and comfortable. Go to Aihe for meals

Lovely place to stay in Akaroa.

Went for a holiday with my granddaughter. Wonderful stay. Lovely helpful staff and management. We had so much fun. Beautiful Town and absolutely Stunning area. Highly recommend. Will be coming back.

Very close to town and restaurants. Laundry facilities available. Microwave didn’t work so this needs to be sorted. Would stay again.

3 night stay and room not serviced at anytime during the stay - would have been helpful to have been told that it would not be serviced despite providing a card to place on door requesting service, etc.
