The hotel staff made our stay incredibly enjoyable.

Good hotel with very large rooms

The staff was fantastic. We had a problem unrelated our stay which the staff was more than happy to help us resolve. Room was lovely and comfortable, breakfast was perfect. Hope to return again very soon!

The staff went out of their way to take care of us. We needed a location not too far from the airport with safe parking for our rental car. Because we were checking out early, the staff made us to go bags for breakfast because we couldn't stay for the included meal. We would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel is great, nice and comfortable and the breakfast is amazing. Though here is nothing much to do in the neighborhood, this an awsome place for a comfortable stay.

Airone is a beautifully designed hotel in a great location. The staff (especially Valeria and the young woman with the blue eyes and curly blond hair at reception) were wonderful, patient and helpful. Also the ladies who were making the food were very sweet. All the staff were very nice. My room was a bit dusty when I arrived. Dust on the bedside tables and on the fridge. It wasn't as clean as I would have liked. Some area carpet rugs would be nice to absorb the echoes of the people in the hall. Without the rugs the whole place is quite noisy because of the echoing sounds. The First night I slept very well but the second night a family moved into the room beside me and the kids were very loud until about 12:30pm at night. I wish that families would have their own area in the hotel. I woke up to very loud banging sounds. The room attendant was throwing blankets from a large rolling basket onto the floor in front of a storage closet. I opened my door to express my dismay at the noise. She didn't understand and continued with the noise. I think it would be helpful for the staff to be trained about how to be quiet around the hotel while cleaning. Ei. gently setting down items, not slamming doors when cleaning, not speaking loudly in the halls in the morning when people are sleeping. Less plastic in the rooms. The paper cups are wrapped in plastic. Have pitchers of spring water in the room rather than plastic bottles. Use liquid soap dispenser instead of bars of soap.

Beautiful hotel

Like: hotel old world charm; staff was friendly and helpful Dislike: not enough electrical outlets for charging technical regalia and electrical outlets that were provided were not conveniently placed (ex. In order to use kettle provided it was necessary to move it from the desk where it was located to another area and then unplug the clock that was there to provide a plug for the kettle. Very annoying)

Wonderful hotel

Absolutely outstanding! The staff went above and beyond to make my husband and I + 16 month old feel welcome and comfortable. They surprised us with a bottle of wine and fruit platter to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Free parking out the front. Great breakfast. Sadly we didn’t have time to use the pool but it looked lovely. We’d come back.

Very friendly staff and a nice clean room

Wonderful staff kind and helpful! Good services , clean rooms good breakfast and modern premises. The only downside is that then hotel is not close to the city center so you need a car or a taxi. Overall, very good

We enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms were clean, and the staff were very friendly. The only inconvenience we had was that the Internet connection was very slow in our rooms. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Great place, very nice people

Great place to stay while in Catania

Needed a clean and convenient place to stay after a day touring Taormina and before flying out the next day. It was PERFECT. Gated lot for parking the rental car and easy access from the highway. Just 15 minutes form the airport. When we got to the hotel staff even helped us order pizza delivery. Would stay here again.

We did not receive the VIP perk bottle of wine and also during our stay the hotel wifi did not extend to the room that we had booked. So we had to go to reception to check in for our flight, not what I would expect from a '4 star' hotel.

Excellent service, very helpful staff and very clean

The pool is very very disappointing. It feels like a pond which doesn't have water circulating. Not for a 4 star hotel, right. Water needs to be filtered. There is dirt floating on top. The parking maneuvering is hard and prone to mistakes. The room is spacious and very clean, this was the bright spot in the hotel. The breakfast is good expect if you stay for few days because the menu is just all the same. The rest is below average. The bathroom has shower which urgently needs replacing. The staff couldn't understand English very well hence I got what I didn't order.

The property was not near downtown. There was no free shuttles downtown or back did not receive VIP service when I checked in bus stop was two blocks away 2.5 km from downtown was a very poor and dirty area.

Beautiful hotel and amazing service

We loved everything about this property, especially the staff who on more than one occasion went out of their way for us. The property is beautiful as there is a large courtyard with a pool. Our room was very very nice and faced the pool. Free breakfast is outstanding! Book it, you won't regret. Need a driver? The hotel will call a wonderful driver who can take you anywhere you need to go in Catania for very affordable prices.

Family room is a 10/10👍👍 Super spacious!

Spacious room with a decent breakfast. Disappointing the pool was closed, it wasn’t advertised that the pool would be shut. The night reception staff were very helpful, however it seemed like in the day there was only one person who could help, despite there being 4 people at the back. Had to wait for over 13 minutes for assistance.

The room was clean. The mattress was comfortable. The breakfast was acceptable. Cons: We couldn't adjust the temperature in the room. It was in the 60s outside and sunny. The room was 80 degrees. I have a thermometer on my travel clock. We asked the front desk to turn on the AC to about 68 degrees. The front desk clerk said she would and did. After returning from all day tourist stuff, the AC was off and the room was hot again. I went to the front desk around 9 PM and asked for the AC to be turned on and was met with some pushback. I was told that it was turned on. I went back to my room and by around 11 PM, realized the room remained hot. My travel partner went down and was told that it couldn't be adjusted because there was only one unit. Thi couldn't be true since the day before it had been done. My review score is based not only on there not being individual control of the temperature in the room, but the borderline belligerence of the staff. The breakfast was OK, however, there was milk added to the scrambled eggs after cooking, and the "bacon" (?) was undercooked. The room was fine as a room, however, with the other issues, I can't recommend it. I rely on honest reviews when booking a hotel and am trying to relay my experience.

The hotel was clean and modern . Staff were very helpful and friendly particularly , big shout out to Roberto who was extremely helpful , polite and went the extra mile . The buffet breakfast was awesome . The only negative is lack of public transport from hotel though there is the option to use taxi service provided by hotel . Definitely recommend Airone hotel for your stay in Catania.

Enjoyed our stay.

We are a family of four adults. We stayed in one large room with one large bed and two small ones. If you’re driving, it was a pleasant stay. Without a GPS it may have been hard to find. The staff was friendly, the hotel appears new. The breakfast was great. Fairly close by to sites and airport.

A great Hotel in Catania

We arrived quite late in the evening, greeted with a smile by reception. The room was spotlessly clean, very light and spacious thanks to the huge, balcony doors that opened out on to the swimming pool. The breakfast was first class – great coffee with a broad choice of different fruits, cakes, local cheeses, cold meats, yoghurts etc. There was also a simple cooked breakfast available of scrambled egg, bacon and sliced sausage too. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Airone, where the staff are very warm and friendly, if you are going to Catania in Sicily.

Week stay in Catania

Stayed for 1 week and the hotel is very clean and staff very amenable. King size double bed was very comfy and nice that the non-alcoholic mini bar was fully topped up each day. The hotel is out of kilter with the surrounding area which is a bit drab, but an excellent place to stay. It is a bit out of the centre so ideal to have a car (although Sicilian driving is a bit of an experience!), and €20 in a taxi, but next street down you can catch the bus (BRT5) for €1 - just be sure to buy your bus tickets from the Tabbacchi shop a couple of minutes up the same road, and buy tickets for return at the same time as not many of those shops are open late on. Underground parking is available on first come first served but there is also a bit of parking out the front or on the roadside, so not an issue. Would definitely recommend a stay here as the buffet breakfast is ample and whilst limited lunch/evening menu, it still suffices if you’re not planning on going out in town to eat. Only things to improve would be have either piped music in the pool area or extend the wi-fi to that area so you can download your own music to portable device. We stayed in room 13 on ground floor which was spacious although there are the early signs if a bit of mould round the shower seals that will soon need to be addressed but other than that cannot speak highly enough of this hotel.

The hotel is modern, clean and quiet. The bed is very comfortable and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Check in was annoying, the girls that checked me was super rude and unprofessional, she rambled the usual info session, and though I was grateful she spoke English, she ran through her speech and due to her strong accent I did not catch anything she said. As I walked away the three of them laughed loudly which lead me to believe the joke was on me. My room was clean however the sheets were stained, when I requested a change I was provided a blanket. Stayed three nights and my sheets were never changed. Though breakfast was included I never got to experience it, I was in town on business I normally left at 630 and breakfast apparently did not start till 7am. I was supposed to have wine provided each stay, however they only tried to provide this on cheaply out. I’m not sure of the rules but I’m pretty sure I couldn’t fly with that. The only reasonable thing experienced was checking out, the poor guy had to hear all about my disappointments. Parking was convenient underground the property and it was located in close proximity to everything.

Unfortunately our stay was a lot shorter than originally planned. However what we did see was excellent. Our room was plenty big enough for 4 people and it wa nice and clean. Reception staff despite it being after midnight when we arrived were super helpful.

A modern facility that was constructed in 2017 and it is well maintained with excellent services, housekeeping and cordiality.

Great hotel - we loved it!

This hotel gave us a great hospitality experience. Front desk team was always helpful and full of good will. Julia was great -thank you! Hotel is well maintained, beautifully designed int an elegant way, spacious rooms, beautiful courtyard, the only point to consider is that this hotel is away from city center, in a residential neighborhood - so not mych to do within wallking distance.

Did not spend any time dining or walking around the hotel. Staff was very impressive, particularly Roberto. Very helpful on dining suggestions in city center.

Even before our arrival we contacted the hotel to inform of a delay, and throughout our stay the staff was courteous, informative and friendly. Place is located about 12 min. Drive from the center of town, but really worth it as its large, clean, well built to enjoy its full potential. We didn't use the pool as its too cold but aside from that the property was great. Breakfast was great with a lot to choose from, everything fresh and constantly refreshed. Would definitely come back!

Great stay!

Loved everything about this hotel except the wifi. We stayed a week and needed to work some, in addition to just wanting to watch a movie at night on the smart tv. Definitely not the most important thing, but it was frustrating that we could only get wifi in the main room and it was not very good. There was no wifi in the bedrooms and we got mixed responses when we inquired; it was weather, it was working fine (it wasn’t), reset the router, etc. For such a lovely hotel it just seems this is an amenity most are expecting to work.

Great place! Best room I got in Italy. Great service, water , juice, wine a bottle for you if you like. Kind people, great breakfast! I would say they need to do their check out at 12 PM and not 10 AM. 15 minutes from the city center. I would book it again if I go that way.

Hotel is clean. Rooms spacious. Beds are big and comfortable. Pool area not as pretty as the photos! Biggest problems are (1) lack of dining options. The hotel has a very poor light dinner/lunch menu, and although there are restaurants within walking distance, you take your life in your own hands crossing highways to get to them. (2) other than the pool, there are no comfortable common areas to relax if you’re waiting for a late flight. Pray it doesn’t rain!

Super night’s stay

Excellent hotel. Clean, spacious room with seriously comfortable bed and large bathroom. Lovely little pool and lots of loungers. Breakfast very nice, lots of choice. Would recommend.

We were greeted by Veronica on reception who was welcoming and friendly. She helped us book dinner and some excursions. Lovely staff who always try to help you. Plus the pool was a bonus. Lovely hotel but a little remote and costly to get into town at €20 each way of you want to be more central. Lovely hotel though for a rest and relaxation break.

The staff were amazing! So helpful and kind. They organised a wheelchair for my mum and all our day trips, and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and beaches to visit.

The hotel is modern and clean. Access is a little bit of an issue (you need a taxi to get anywhere or risk crossing some very busy streets).

Very spacious rooms which were very clean however there is not a lot of storage space is like us you were staying a prolonged period. Be aware that there is no restaurant and it is quite some walk to the 2 recommended by the reception desk. There is a light bites menu - enormous portions! of very tasty food. You do not pay for food / drink wen ordered - this is added to your room bill, so watch your spending. There is a free mini bar containing soft drinks which is regularly replenished - much appreciated on arrival and during very hot days. Taking advantage of this saves a few euros. The hotel is on the outskirts of town, great for access to the road network. Most of the staff spoke excellent English and all were very helpful - booking taxis, assisting with enquirys.

This hotel is amazing, very new and has everything you might need, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. We stayed in the family room which was a lovely big size, basically a suite, 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms with balconies in every room. This is difficult to get to, Sicily is not famous for it’s public transport, but if you have a rental car with sat back it isn’t a problem to fine. Etnaland is a 20 minute drive away, perfect location for travelling to and from the Acqua and theme park. The bar snack options are great and plenty for a light lunch etc. Delivered to your room if requested. Breakfast is superb, lots and lots of choices, fruit, cereal, bacon. Sausage and egg, cheeses, Hams... lots of different cakes to choose from. Coffee to order and served at your table, honestly the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel and I’ve visited over 100! I consider this hotel as luxurious. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Amazing place with wonderful helpful staff. They went out of their way when we needed help. The only drawback is proximity to the historic center, about 15min drive and not great public transportation options. Great breakfast, nice pool with a cascade and whirlpool section. Loved it!

This hotel looks like the best looking building in the area. The neighbourhood is quite run-down and not many good restaurants in sight. However, the hotel itself has nice common areas especially the terrace and the swimming pool. Breakfast was generous in variety and quantity. Serving staff were friendly. Our room was a bit tight but clean.

Very nice hotel and pool. Staff very accommodating. it is a shame the location was not so nice, lots of rubbish on the streets, the area is quite run down but walking distance to quite nice restaurants although these were a little overpriced.

Lovely hotel, clean, very good service from the staff members, minibar in the room is included at no extra cost and refreshed with new drinks every day. Though the hotel is a little far from town center, it's a nice hotel to stay at. Would recommend hiring a car or take a cab into the center if needed (otherwise a 35-45 min walk)

we stayed in this hotel at the end of April - start of May 2019. It was a very positive experience, each member of staff was efficient and very pleasant to deal with starting from the moment we checked in to our departure. Breakfast was lovely, all serving staff cheerful and a great selection of items.. I miss it! Our room was a deluxe room with a view over the beautiful pool. Our bed was enormous, room was spacious and spotless, supplied with dressing robes and slippers and lovely toiletries. We had our minibar re-stocked daily with soft drinks, still water, sparkling water and some cartons of juice (this was included in the price of our room, not sure if this is the case for all rooms). We used this hotel primarily as a base from which to travel around East / South-East Sicily. It has secure, underground parking which was exactly what we needed as we had hired a car for the trip. The hotel has a limited evening food menu but we ate there only 2 nights and enjoyed the wine and food, it was very tasty and well presented. Again the serving staff were lovely! The staff were good enough to print our boarding passes for our return visit,I would be very happy to return again!

On late arrival was given a drink to welcome us, the hotel was very clean and all staff excellent and helpful, if you need to know anything just ask the staff they will recommend restaurants, arrange transport to the city or provide bus time table details, could not fault the hotel. Taxi is roughly 15 euro to the city centre, or you can walk which is roughly 35-40 mins. We hired a car and the Italians take no prisoners when it comes to driving, so we left the car at the hotel and opted for taxis/buses

Good hotel !

Very nice hotel . Clean , helpful staff, good breakfast, close to center- 10 minutes by car . We had room number 6 in the first floor. We heard noises from the street and from the front desk, but so high noises .

Would have been full marks if not for the location and lack of proper dining / restaurant facilities. The hotel offers paninis, salads, snacks etc but not proper food and no atmosphere not nice to spend any time in the communal areas other than for breakfast. There are only two restaurants close by, none open before 8 in the evening and closed Sunday and Monday and the one we chose expensive. It’s too far from anything, a good 40 minutes to the old part / centre of Catania and the sea front which are the only areas you would want to spend any time around! The area around the hotel is not very nice, busy dual carriage way you have to cross to get anywhere, rubbish including abandoned furniture, graffiti and dog poo all over, although this seems to be a problem for the entire city and to some extent the island of Sicily. Also the wi fi was off for 3 of the 4 days we stayed which was annoying, I wouldn’t have booked a hotel without free Wi-fi available. We enquired but no reason given other than the bad weather ( heavy rain on the evening it quit working) and seemed to be no urgency in sorting it out. Other than these negatives, staff were polite and helpful, room was clean and what we expected. Breakfast was good, choice and quality.

Great hotel in Catania

Comfortable hotel and very clean. The hotel was the last stop before heading back to the USA thus limited time there. Recent storm interrupted internet service which was unfortunate. Friendly and helpful front deask staff. Breakfast was average. Walking distance to beach and restaurants for those who ambulate well.

Very modern hotel with good parking and helpful staff. The only drawback is that it’s not very walkable to Catania’s city center and so a cab is required forr dinner. Otherwise though, the hotel is excellent in all other ways. It’s a great central location for day trips up and down Sicily’s east coast.

Outstanding hotel and amazing staff

Excellent hotel with good facilities and really helpful staff although it is a €15 to €20 taxi ride from the centre of Catania. If you have a rental car it has good parking and is close to the autostrada.
