The location, staff and cleanliness of this property was excellent! The only complaint that myself and my party had was the mattress and futon was absolutely terrible, both were very hard and difficult to sleep on. Despite that, we were all very pleased with this place and will be back.

If you like live music this is the hotel for you. The staff were excellent and the room was very clean, it has a kitchenette and equipment. My partner loved the coffee every morning. The downside is the location is very close to a bar that blares their music until midnight, every night. Some of the music is good. If you are used to reading before bed, I suggest earplugs. The tv remote didn’t work unless you were a foot from the tv. The furniture is old but the bed was very comfortable. Linens showed a lot of usage. Shower is small but clean and modern. Personal safety was not an issue, the front door is always locked and manned by the front desk people. There was plenty of police available but we didn’t see and issues when we went out at night. Safety around the roof top pool and breakfast area was an issue. I fell and broke my wrist when moving between the pool and the bathroom. The tile was extremely slippery because of the water from the pool. There was no slip treatment on the tile or runner to absorb the water so it was very slick. No one seemed to make a big deal of my fall except to get a first aid kit and bandage for the small cut on my toe. No one offered to call for medical help or checked to see if I was okay after. It happened the day before we left so I wrapped it and bought a sling. Went to the ER when we arrived at our home airport and had it casted. If we were bigger party people it was perfect for the price and location. Very clean and friendly.

loved this property and the location was awesome the staff was outstanding as well so polite and informative.Overall no complaints the only thing was not enough towels and i wasnt the biggest fan of the bathroom shower door the ledge was uneven causing the floor to get wet even with a shower mat

Loved how close the hotel is to 5th ave. The staff is great and very helpful! Being on the quiet side of 5th ave was a plus! Everything is in walking distance. Will definitely come back in the future!!

The location was excellent . Easy to access and walk 5th. Easy to walk to the beach. The bar on the corner had some excellent music . Breakfast was a nice option .

Staff was amazing! Everyone was so polite and kind. The room was very large and very clean. The location is perfect for tourists that want to be near 5th Ave. If you are a light sleeper, be aware there is a bar nearby that does live music most nights. It stopped by 12 at the latest. I personally loved hearing them sing and didn’t mind the noise but that is something to be aware of!

Hidden Gem

A hidden gem in the less busy section off right off Fifth avenue but a close walk to everything. A little loud from the bar around the corner on 5th avenue but I imagine a huge improvement over any other place near 5 minutes from the beach. Looks exactly like the pictures.

Excellent 10 stars!

I stayed in many places in Playa and this was my absolute favorite. Fernanda, Armando and the other lady I forgot her name gave exceptional service. The best part is the location. Right on 5th avenue and walking distance to everything cool. When I return to Playa there’s no question about where I’ll be staying!

It wasn't what I expected

If you are looking for a hotel suite that places you in a perfect walking distance to all of 5th ave and a short walk to the beach, this is it. Roof top pool wasnt as big as I expected but the whole rooftop area is still a really nice spot to go soak up the sun and have a couple drinks with your spouse or friends. Location can be a little loud on the streets at times but thats to be expected for being so close to 5th ave. The staff are very friendly and helpful which goes a long way for someone that maybe vacationing there for their first time. The only thing I can say that I didnt like was I didn't stay long enough. Will definitely be coming back.

Great price really close to the ocean in fifth Avenue

A smaller apartment type hotel. A very nice option near 5th Ave and walkable to shops, dining and the beach. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a couple hiccups and the staff was efficient about resolving the issue. Depending on the room, you may hear street notice of barking dog but it’s wasn’t a major concern. All in all - enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We had a great experience. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Fast Wi-Fi.

A great hotel in a nice location just off of 5th ave where all the restaurants and shopping is. A nice rooftop area with a pool. The staff was always friendly and available. They do have a secure front door. The room was spacious and had a balcony. There was some noise from the street.

Location location location!!! This hotel is located perfectly on 5th ave surrounded by lots of great restaurants and bars. The hotel was very clean and everyone I encountered at the front desk was extremely nice. If you’re in Playa this hotel is a great pick!!!

I stayed in a studio at Ah Xok for one month. The concept was spot on. The location was very convenient to 5th Ave North with lots of shops, restaurants and a short walk to the beach, Staff at the suites/hotel were fantastic. A shoutout to Roberto, Luis and Erica who were always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. While the property was very clean and met most of my expectations, I likely wouldn’t stay again unless I was assured that the beds and sofas were upgraded. The bed in my room was hard as a rock and the sides slanted toward the floor. Horribly uncomfortable. The sofa/futon was worse. There wasn’t one iota of comfort. I usually resorted to sitting in a kitchen chair if I wanted to watch TV. Sitting on the sofa was near impossible, which felt like sitting on fabric covered metal slats.

The staff are amazing!! Louis (Manager), Erica (am shift) and Bob (pm shift) were super friendly and extremely helpful with all of our questions. The safe in our room didn’t work and the staff had it change within an hour. We were given multiple ideas of where to eat every day, specific sites to visit and even days of the week they were less busy. The cleaning staff were so quiet and conscience of all the other guests, they worked so hard to keep the hotel sparkling clean. Our pre-arranged transport to Cancun was causing us issues and Bob made one phone call and spoke to the company on our behalf…resolved in less than 5 minutes. We love this hotel and would recommend to anyone considering a stay in Playa del Carmen.

Staff were helpful and very nice. Boards and deck around pool cracked. Need ro be replaced. Couch very uncomfortable to sit on. Needs to be replaced.

This is a beautiful property, especially the rooftoop terrace. The hotel is relatively quiet and is very clean. The front desk staff are amazing! They are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Close to all the shops and restaurants

Ah Xok is on 5th Ave. so there is noise. But it is on the quiet end so the noise is generally not a problem after around 11pm. We love the area and the proximity to a quiet, undeveloped beach. We like everything about the place -- location, staff, room, balcony, rooftop, etc. -- but for one thing. The adjoining room doors are awful. Neighbors might as well be in your room. Normal conversations can easily be heard through the adjoining doors. We love everything else and would have given 5 stars but for the doors. They should be replaced or, better yet, seal the doorways and get rid of adjoining rooms.

Nice but noisy

Very new construction but super noisy from the inside. I could hear everyone around me and there was a lot of echo from the hallway. Basically people would come in from partying around 2-3 AM, talk loudly in the hallway and slam their doors which just echoed everywhere. Nice on the inside but this was a huge issue. Baby cried next door from 3-5 AM. No rest.

We really enjoyed our balcony and the extra- large shower and the well- equipped kitchen ( a toaster would have been good) and the extra- friendly reception and cleaning people. We will come back again

Las instalaciones muy bonitas, lo unico el control de la tele no servia, lo entregamos a recepción para su arreglo y no solucionaron, hay estacionamiento pero hay que pagar parquimetro el cual cuesta 10 pesos la hora, pero todo lo demas super bien!

Geweldig verblijf gehad!

Quedé enamorada del lugar, tienen todo en excelentes condiciones, la habitación muy cómoda y bonita, es muy tranquilo. La atención por parte de los recepcionistas la verdad excelente. Sin pensarlo dos veces regresamos. Muchas gracias

El hotel cuenta con una excelente ubicación, a 3 calles de la playa, a lado hay una farmacia, en contra esquina un tienda de autoservicio, sin dejar de mencionar q estás en casi esquina de la 5ta av. aunque es pequeño, es bonito y muy cómodo.

En la lluvia se escuchaba como si hubiera ratones en el techo. Checamos 3 apartamentos y el ruido era igual

Ah Xok suites 🏖️👌 1.- Definitivamente volveré, nos gustó mucho 2.- La habitación es cómoda cumple perfectamente con todo lo que ofrece 3.- Está sobre la 5ta avenida 4.- Tiene los mejores restaurantes cerca 5.- Está a 3 cuadras de la playa 🏖️ 6.- El personal siempre muy amable y atento 7.- El rooft garden con alberca es perfecta y muy bonita de día y noche

Inconveniente.

Lo único, fue que llovió y las toallas se estaban secando en el balcón y se nos mojaron, nosotros estabamos de paseo. En recepción no nos quisieron dar toallas, a pesar de no haber sido responsabilidad de nosotros.

El hotel es muy lindo, la ubicación es muy buena. La atención es inmejorable. La habitación bastante amplia y cómoda. La limpieza es excelente! Pude ver cómo limpiaban la habitación y en verdad lo hacen de maravilla. La alberca en el rg es una muy buena amenidad, solo hace falta aprovechar el espacio de la barra, tal vez podrían ofrecer bebidas o snacks. En general, es una joya Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Sobrevendieron habitaciones

Sobrevendieron las habitaciones , al llegar al hotel (ya tarde) me dieron la llave de la habitacion y al entrar, estaba ocupada por otra persona que se asusto al verme entrar, despues me dicen que estaba sobrevendidas las habitaciones, dejandome sin hotel de noche

Buena atención y no me gusto el restaurante bar que esta aun lado hace ruido

La ubicación es genial y todo es nuevo (recién construido).
