Aircon is Superb and real cold. I have to give thumbs up for their Services during my stay. The only issue to improve is on their toilet flushing system.

Basic hotel with everything needed. convenient location and close to dozens of coffee shops and restaurants. Would be nice if there was a gym for the gym goers but 7min walking distance to gyms around and paid under $4 to enter did the job.

Horrible staff attitude

WiFi was horrible. When ask the staff to come and check, they tell me that my device has the issue, and not their WiFi. But every device that me and my partner had could not receive stable WiFi. It kept dropping off. Also when the aircon panel was blinking to state that there is an issue with the aircon, and the room got hot, the staff says that is okay, shows me there is air blowing out and I should accept it. But the air was hot! I demanded a technician and he fixed it. But the first staff treated me like I was stupid. Horrible experience.

Location is perfect as the hotel is seated at the heart of ho chi minh city. Hotel staff are friendly and accommodating; provided good quality service. Allowed early check in so long as the room is available. Standard room size. Breakfast buffet selection is limited but was able to serve food of our choice due to food restrictions.

Bad experience for this stay.

Staffs is not friendly and hardly smile when talking to the guest, except for night shift. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, I can get a better hotel for the same price. The breakfast is ok. But not great.

The service of the counter staff is bad when checking in. During breakfast time, I see staff using their hand to pick food and put direct into their mouth. Worst hotel ever

Great Location Let Down by Poor Room Condition.

Location is convenient but the room is pretty run down. The dimmed lights in the rooms mask the actual run down condition, bathroom tub and shower area pretty shabby with moulds. This is certainly not worth the price you'd pay.

Not value for money.

Room was small, window also very small. Bedsheets torn. No shavers, no 3-1 coffee.

Bad service

I was staying on the top floor of the hotel. The water was not hot and not strong running to the high floor. Staff did not fix the water on time. I had to wait for the next day, but we checked out the next day. Front desk staff are not friendly and cold manner. the toilet on the main floor is not clean.

Out of date decor and facilities, that's first impression at check in lobby into guest room, due to bar fridge in 1st room, changed to 2nd room, that hot water not working, changed to another room. Facelift to brighten up and new decoration, facilities required ASAP. Staff are friendly, but lack of English speaking skills, that caused misunderstanding. If you are looking for shopping and eateries, you may put up with current hotel environments. Cheers

The staff is nice , but the reception area looks different from the one shown on the website which is bigger and nicer. The location is a bit noisy at night .

Great location, next to Ben Thanh Market. Night market just infront hotel door step. Walking distance to takashimaya, Saigon Center. Good food around the hotel.

We couldnt sleep at night due to loud noise/singing at night. The window sound proof system is not so good.Nevertheless, there was a funeral hence the singing went on until 2.30am. WE asked for a different room away from the sound and we were given one. We met one of the hotel's dedicated staff who tried to make up our discomfort and we noticed he seemed to have work at morning, afternoon and night shifts! Cant recall his name, but very nice man. Bed was comfortable though the room interior design of dark colours can be improved. There is a good rate money changer next to the hotel (Western Union). When the underground train starts operation perhaps in 2018, the area would probably more busy. There is night market which starts exactly at 6pm until mid night, making the whole street lively. However, we are too tired to haggle on the prices at the market or at night market. Wish they could just put the prices on the goods they are selling.

Ceiling lights cannot be switched off and TV no signal. Hotel did gave me another room to stay the first night and fixed the lights in my room the next day. Conceige service was good though.

Convenient and well appointed hotel

This was our second stay at this hotel. It's directly opposite some good markets and in walking distance of the main tourist sites in HCMC. The staff are very helpful and they serve a good buffet breakfast. There was no window in both rooms that we stayed in but it was very quiet. They aren't very spacious rooms but that wasn't a problem for us and we enjoyed the spa bath.

All is good. As I always stay this hotel when I come Vietnam.to me when travel oversea safety is most important. Price wise is alright for me as we are staying in hot district. Where u can get all the thing u want easily.

Close to everything you need.

The staff are extremely helpful. I checked in early they did not have my room ready but they did up grade for me to another room. Over all, I do think the staff made a big different for me stay at this hotel. It's right in the heart of Saigon but it's quiet. Come and stay and you'll see.

Unpleasant experience at hotel

Our stay was marred by dishonest staff. We ordered a car for an early airport transfer and was asked to pay 320k viet dong in advance at the counter. The cab was there to pick us at 5am. When we reach the airport, the driver said he was not paid by the hotel and the fare was 130k viet dong. I called the hotel and they claimed I did not order a car when it was there waiting for us. I would like to warn fellow travelers to be on high alert when at the hotel.

This hotel a bit noisy on a night due to its location next to the market, but we did expect this as we wanted to be with local people and it was not a deterrent for us, great place to be with the museums, sight seeing all around the city. All the staff accretive, professional and polite.

My wife and I stayed here while I was between projects. We like the Ben Thanh Market - District 1 area of Ho Chi Minh City. This hotel is located across the street from the market and a few steps away from Le Loi Street. The 7th floor room was situated on a corner of the building with great views of the market area. The hotel has a pretty good buffet breakfast and lounge area. The hotel staff are friendly and efficient. I recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a median price in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City.

2 nights stay in Mid July 2015

A functional 3 stars hotel room, stayed 2 nights in mid July 2015. My assigned room (504) was right next to the lift shaft so it was noisy. Breakfast spread was decent and I would recommend ordering Phol and omelette. Great neighbourhood, opposite dry markets for local produce and available taxi in the day

Convenient location at Ben Thanh market

Room is small with a tiny window blocked by an building facade poster. I'm given a room on the 9th floor but the lift only goes up to 8th. Breakfast is simple and nothing to shout about.

overall a satisfactory stay

Overall satisfactory. Good breakfast. A little noisy if you plan to sleep before midnight due to the night market stalls right outside but luckily the noise didn't bother me. A little foul stench coming from the toilet (suspect its the drainage design which there is nothing the cleaners can help)- so just spray some perfume when using the toilet and its ok.

Central Location Wins this Hands Down

I won't go into detail about the location / rooms etc - cause there's been enough said. But for me a stay in HCM is about the convenience of being where you need to be depending on what you want to do. My trip was mainly about taking in shopping and local food in HCM and staying at AM Hotel made it easier - its a no frills hotel local hotel. The convenience of location (and not having to explain to the taxi driver what street were were in) and just saying Benh Thanh Market - made it a cinch to get around/ walk back or orientate ourselves.

The location is great with lots of stalls, restaurants and a market. Staffs are friendly and good service but low command of English. Condition of the room is good if the bathtub switches have better condition, we book 3 room all have the same switches problem. I will still choose this hotel when I visit Vietnam again.

HANDY TO MARKETS

The Hotel is very centrally situated. The room could do with a refurbishment. The mat on the floor has been there for the past three visits we have made.. It is very tired. The curtains in the room were very dirty. The staff were very helpful (if you could be understood). Not sure of the smoking rules. I was on what I thought was a non smoking floor and could smell cigarettes all the time. If you are looking for a handy place for shopping and only stay a short time, this is the hotel to chose.

Not a good experience

Stayed at room 102. Had no windows and loud prayers could be heard at 4am which lasted for more than an hour through the walls.

Great location, affordable!

This is our second time we have stay at A & EM hotel, we loved it! Location is close is fantastic, close to Pham Ngu Lao (backpackers district), all the landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City and especially Ben Thanh Market. Staff were ever so helpful and hotel is so clean. Although the downside is the walls between the rooms and outside corridor is thin, I can hear most noise made by cleaners and other hotel guests talking or slamming their doors. I love punctuality of the laundry service, it's always come back fresh and pressed nicely! Well recommended.

Overpriced hotel - Very Disappointing

We paid the most expensive rate for the 2 beds unit. Unfortunately, at check in time, hotel staff said that all the 2 beds are on the top floor (the elevator does not go up to the top floor). So we opted for the floor which has elevator but had to sacrifice for only 1 bed. The room and bed were so small that we had to request hotel staff to move us to the top floor(without elevator) for the 2 beds unit the next day. If you don't mind the 1 bed unit and if you can get a very good price, then it's OK to stay. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.

Pleasant stay

We stayed in VIP room. Only set back is the toilet are all glass see thru panel. Also bfast food no replenishment even we came down at 9:30am. However, the front desk staff are all very helpful n very near to benh thanh market & surrounding area has lots of eatery.

Ok but very dark colors

I found the hotel was okay. But the rooms were black with sparkly stuff on the floor very dark but got a good deal through Expedia it was okay

Stayed at the VIP suite. Exceeded expectation considering the room rate. Saved lots of money for shopping.

Great hotel! Central location.. rooms was clean.. check in and out was fast.. had a cafe.. strong wifi.. what else do u ask for at that price? Just that the aircon is not really cold enough.. the rest of the factors were superb.. will book again!

Room security

Not satisfactory. Was assigned a room on 9th storey when the lift is only accessible till 8th storey. Entrance door to room was not provided with door viewer or chain lock. Felt unsafe whenever someone knocks on the door cause there's no means of checking who's outside before opening room door. Kettle was provided with 3 pin connection plug but all power outlets within room only have 2 pin connections. House keeping agree to provide adaptor but it never came. Pls bring own adaptor. Although bottled drinking water were complimentary, instant coffee and tea bags come with a price tag. Bath room floods whenever the long bath is utilized. Think long bath water outlet is not connected directly to downpipes. Had to rely on floor trap to discharge water into downpipes. Since our room is fully paid online using credit card, don't think the hotel has the right to hold our passports till checking out. Will definitely try other hotels on our future visits :(

Choice location, and clean rooms at superb value

Bell boy went to the extra mile to get us a 3G SIM card that saved us much trouble. Obviously he may have upped the sell price but it was worthwhile for the convenience of accessing internet and emails on the go.
