Great location. Close to Barcelona Sants station and Espanya Metro so very easy to get around the city. Friendly and helpful reception staff.. Room was comfortable and spacious, but lighting was very dim. Room was always a little dark.

The property was ok. We stayed for 1 night before our cruise. I wouldn’t stay for longer. The staff was great, they made it worth it to stay there. They were very helpful with giving us good information on what to visit, where to eat, how far destinations were. The free breakfast was decent. The rooms are small with no decorations and tvs have Spanish only channels.

We had a good stay at Acta Azul. Location was great and it was a quiet, clean, comfortable room.

First time in Barcelona. Great location close to Plaça D’Espanya. Real easy to move around on public transport. Also plenty of restaurants at a walkable distance. Breakfast at hotel is pretty good as well.

Simple & comfortable

Clean simple apartment. Has AC but not to American cool standards - was quite warm for sleeping since we were there in July. Staff very helpful, had US-Euro converter for electronics. Separate beds for kids were nice.

Great location

The location is great! The hotel is in a main avenue, all the bus and metro lines have stop there, including the airport line. We got a clean family room for four nights. Unfortunately they didn't clean the bathroom the other days. They cleaned the room and did the beds every day, but the bathroom stayed unclean. Plus, there was a blockage in the shower. So, the location is good, the price is reasonable, but, they could clean better.

Very basic room not fancy and not worth the cost. It was clean.

Air conditioning did not work at all. Walls are paper thin so the street and other room noises were very loud.

I booked 2 rooms for my family for our weekend stay. My room was as described but the hotel put my grandparents in a ‘managers room’ on the 6th floor, away from the rest of our family - the room was nothing like the pictures and a pain to get to, as the lift goes to the 6th floor but there was still another flight of stairs for them to go up. The room was linked to the terrace for the whole hotel and the staff used the terrace for their breaks. Our room was lovely, but the walls are so thin and we didn’t sleep for 3 nights due to the volume of the other guests - we heard everyone walking down the corridor, doors slamming and loud voices - this isn’t the hotels fault but the walls were so thin, it felt like we were in the room with them. It’s a shame as the room was lovely and clean but we wouldn’t stay here again due to the inconvenience with the other guests and the room my grandparents were put in.

The beds were uncomfortable and short. The rest of the room was alright, though the windows didn’t open.

Really friendly and helpful staff in a brilliantly convenient setting. The apartment room worked well for our family of 5 - clean, simple and good storage for a short stay. The small kitchen area was useful for basic self-catering and lots of good food options nearby. The location was perfect for exploring the city, nearby Montjuïc park and a day trip to Monserrat. Easy bus ride from the Airport too. The hotel even let us store our bags on site on our departure day so we didn’t have to lug them around on our final day before our evening flight. Very comfortable, close to metro and busses

Spartan but acceptable

Staff were lovely and super helpful but for a hotel in the city charging what they were charging I was hoping for a bit more comfort. I was traveling with my wife and two teenage kids - the A/C was set around 24C/75F so it was manageable but not comfortable for sleep. Beds and pillows were meh. Noise from the street was considerable but not a huge problem. The area was nice - some good restaurants nearby and the metro was quite close. But I can't say enough about the staff - super helpful.

The rooms are nice and it is well located near Plaza España. But they gave us two rooms in different floors and we were with our kids. Also, the 6th floor room, we had to climb the emergency stairs and had a weird smell like some sort of gas

Good location, rooms spacious for my family of 5 guests. Was Very noisy when going to bed and during the night. The room was clean but we kept getting a sewage smell inside the washroom, specifically coming from the sink. We would smell that same odour in hallway upon leaving our room and returning . Very basic lobby area, don’t expect to spend time in lobby to relax or hang around. Overall, decent accommodation for the two nights we stayed before departing on a Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona.

Average overpriced hotel

For the cost, the room was very average. There was just 4 cots not even a Queen/ king bed. The beds made a lot of noise when sleepers turned. The bath had a translucent glass so if anyone work up early the lights would disturb all. The room was very basic with no coffee maker or iron board. I would avoid this place with families.

Parking is two blocks away and not convenient.

Clean, but basic. Helpful staff who stored our luggage until check-in time so we could explore. Great neighborhood close to many sights including the magic fountain - which is unfortunately closed because of the drought. The view from the rooftop terrace was lovely. They need better AC though

Nice employees, especially the guy working the night to morning shift who had wonderful service and spoke English well. 8 minutes on foot from the metro, and 5 minutes to bus stop for Airport Bus. However, there aren't many restaurants around

Staff was extremely helpful and courteous, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Wish we could have stayed longer.

You get what you pay for. The hotel was average, staff was friendly. Breakfast was good.

Property is ok.. however I may tell, the Internet connection is spotty and very slow. The other issue i initially had was about the using their shower, I am not used the modern models.

Receptionist was not welcoming customers. Seems like he was the only one working there and trying to take his smoking break outside. He just checked in quickly and hand over the keys and left outside to finish his smoking. Rooms are not very clean either. First trip they gave us handicapped room with no shower door and 2nd trip in a same week another dirty room. So Won't be using this hotel again in future. Breakfast was not very healthy either,

The pictures online do not depict the rooms accurately. Air conditioning did not work, and our window was directly leading to the balcony, where it was an unsafe location that a person could come into the window easily because it would not close.

The Acta Azul Hotel is very conveniently located, clean and comfortable. As is typically the case in Europe, the room was a bit small, but, certainly adequate with a nice, large shower. The front desk staff were quite friendly and helpful. An additional English language TV channel would be nice. I would stay there again.

Perfectly comfortable and close to the center of town. We had a party of 4 and had plenty of space. The breakfast is excellent and inexpensive. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Great base to explore Barcelona!

It is a nice hotel, not too big, good price per quality. The room is pretty new and well maintained. The walls are quite thin so you can hear from the other rooms. No lobby area, just 2 chairs at the entrance.

Comfortable stay near Plaza Espanya

Big rooms with plenty of space. Separate bedroom and living area for a triple room. Only hotel in Spain we stayed which had a lock in the bathroom door. Which was much appreciated. The hotel is simple in style, nothing fancy - just enough amenities for a comfortable stay. Our room was on the fifth floor - we could still hear the traffic noise - but it was reduced after 11.00 PM. The bed was on the harder side but not unbearable. It is close to the magic fountain - although it only works from Thursday to Saturday nights. There are plenty of shops and cafes nearby so we never took the breakfast in the hotel.

The property is clean. It is overall small. The room we were n was two stories. 3 beds in line formation below and two beds forming a king size bed above. One small restroom. Night was quiet, but we started eating activity of cars early in the morning. Beds are uncomfortable.

We liked the location. It was near a bus stop for the airport bus line, and conveniently located near the train station. We got there early, but were given an available room, which we greatly appreciated. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower. Breakfast was ample and varied. We would have used the safe, but it was locked open. We like fresh air, but understand the need for the windows being permanently closed; the room was remarkably quiet despite the busy street.

Great location, near metro and trains. Breakfast was excellent and worth the extra money. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull.

Hotel is in the worst location for quiet. It is right on the corner of a Main Street that has continuous traffic and noise all day and all night. Morning hours is rush hour and you hear everything. 3am in the morning is no better.

Central location -- easy to/from airport

Stayed here 1 night. I like the Hostefrancs neighborhood where the hotel is located. There's an excellent market nearby. And it's easy access to the airport via Aerobus. The bus stop for Aerobus is a five-minute walk away. It is also an easy walk to the Poble Sec neighborhood, Montjuic, and the Sants train station. The hotel has all you need and I will definitely be staying at this hotel again in future visits to Barcelona.

We liked the layout of the room - as it was split into 2 parts - beds in one part and living area in the other. We had a microwave, hot plate and some kitchen equipment too, which was very useful. It was good value.

Bathroom ceiling was leaking water from upper floors. I was on first floor. Good thing I was only staying one night to be close to train station.

Quiet location, near transportation. Professional staff.

Rooms were a great size for family, but the management was not available the whole weekend we stayed there. Customer service was poor and we were there to do the Barcelona marathon, needed a late check out which the front desk told us was not possible. We even offered to pay for it, they still refused.

Staff friendly and welcoming, beds comfy, apartment spacious and very clean. We loved having our breakfast on the roof terrace (we brought our own as we had a kitchenette - they don't serve it up there!). For the price and location (right by Placa d'Espanya) it's excellent value. Sure there's road noise but you're right in the heart of the city.

Fantastic location. We were upgraded which was a great surprise. We were near to the metro with lots of shops, restaurants and eateries near by. Lots to see and do locally without taking the metro. The bullring shopping centre , the museum ( amazing views from the top), Olympic Stadium and great walk with stunning views from the Olympic Stadium to the cable cars. All definitely worth a visit.

Comfortable hotel very close to the Plaza de Espana. Clean rooms, friendly staff and within walking distance from public transportation...this hotel has everything that's needed for a tourist.

Property location is excellent...close to the metro, museum and mall. Rooms are plain, but very clean with a nice sized bed and bath. Front desk staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Mattresses thin and it is like sleeping on a plank. The bed were camp style bed bases. Mattresses had stains on. Room was on the top floor and it was very very very noises during the night from traffic.
