Nice quiet quaint hotel. Staff professional and courteous. Convenient location.
Love it… and buffet was ok too
this was the first time traveling to Ghana and the hotel was just what I should have expected if traveling abroad.
Lovely hotel at reasonable prices. The staff was professional, accommodating & pleasant. The rooms were recently updated. The bathrooms were remodeled. The hotel is located in the business district, so you can walk to the National museum, Makola market and the Art Centre.
Curteous staff, cleanliness of hotal and excellent food. Choices!
The service was very good. The staff was very helpful. The swimming pool was terrible. We planned to do water aerobics daily, but the bottom of the pool was so slick we could barely stand or walk in the pool. Also, the shower floor was too slick for seniors. The needs to be bars in the shower. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
Great staff and food
Run down and basic. Not 4 star in my view.
Most of the staff were excellent but we lost faith in the hotel after a serious issue of trust.
Safe, inexpensive, central location. Good food!
Lovely experience.
Well located, adequately appointed and excellent, friendly & helpful staff. Would happily return.
Hotel was fine. Rooms are nicely set-up and clean. Restaurant service was a bit slow if you did not opt for the buffet, but food was good and plentiful. Breakfast buffet was very nice.
The property is centrally located which is a plus but the facilities are just average. There was nothing special about the Superior room, no added or special benefits. Save your money and get the standard room if you must. Breakfast was basic fare. It was the same food every day. No omelette station to have eggs to order. Basic fried eggs or a basic omelette pre made and dried out. Save your money on this one also. The QR code for room service didn’t work, and never did during my stay. The AC leaked and the safe didn’t work but those were eventually remedied. The one redeeming thing about my stay was that the staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly . The housekeeping staff were great and attentive and the front desk staff were amazing, especially Mary and Catherine.
Centrally located clean hotel. Most of the staff go above and beyond so service is A . The hotel has all the amenities needed for a nice stay in Accra. Great management, especially Alice the staff lead.
Satisfied with the property facilities and the professional conducts of the staff
Nice
The area is nice as many important buildings around the neighborhood. Staff were precise for the most part. Restaurant for breakfast was good. I really enjoyed the pool the most as I could do laps as a swimmer. Gym is decent- coolest part is this tiny gym has Azuma Nelson's boxing gloves. I didn't get a chance to try the Thai spa. Rooms were standard. I wish their hallways smelled nice- there was a weird smell. Could use some air freshner. Overall fine hotel.
Everything was awesome. Particularly loved the breakfast options plus lunch was good as well. Staff were polite and helpful
In general our stay was enjoyable. We have stayed there before and in general we like the hotel. There were some issues with our room on arrival such as mini fridge not working and some of the lights not working but these were rectified the same day. There were no plugs/stoppers in the sink or bath and it took 2 days to rectify this which was not acceptable. We would like to mention Elvis on reception. He was extremely helpful throughout our stay and gave us excellent service
I liked the location, i didn't like the service
The staff at the hotel were uniformly excellent - very friendly, helpful and cooperative. I could mention numerous staff including Mary, Elsie, Richard, Isaac, Gifty and others. The rooms were comfortable and the food was good. The hotel is centrally located and many attractions are within walking distance.
I would recommend the Accra City Hotel. It is comfortable, central and secure and has good facilities. The staff were excellent-uniformly friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was very good. There were a few problems with noise from the adjoining room so I had at times to use earplugs and there were issues with the bathroom namely a broken shower fixture and no shower curtain.
Safe, friendly, very good choice of very tasty food.
The breakfast Buffy was terrible. No devotion from the daily menu and food was old or not restocked. House keeping and the front desk were excellent. But the buffet food was not good.
Great place to stay for business or relaxation
I have stayed at Accra City Hotel several times and always have a great experience. They have a great central location, friendly staff, good food/drinks and are very accommodating. They are always upgrading the property and rooms as well, the hotel is more beautiful every time I visit. Great for visitors needing a place to stay while working or exploring around Accra.
Everything was great 👍 👌
The property’s easy access to markets, pharmacy it’s pool and restaurant.
Good value. Very nice pool.
Great people. Great service. All around great stay
It’s not worth the charge. I will never stay here again.
Poor amenities
The courtesy friendliness and the professionalism exhibited by the staff at the hotel was par excellent.
Really loved the serene atmosphere. Very professional staff n good cleaning staff
All good including location
Television did not work, internet was not working, house phone locked, air conditioner broken in gym
Poor quality TV reception , safe was not working On my check out a food bill of approximately $25 was authorized on my card but they hotel was unable to print a slip due to a malfunctioning POS. Kept me waiting for 30 mins despite me showing on my banking app the debit . Left a very bitter taste
Accra city? Hell no!!
The reception is lovely which gives you the impression that you are in for a nice/lovely stay. Barely any hot water for showers, shower head is blackened and a temperamental door/key lock. For what they are asking, they could offer more than this shambles and the mattress is hard and uncomfortable!!
The grounds. The restaurant and authentic food choices
Nice location and hotel
The AC was working excellent as the lobby area was very comfortable. Their meals were also delicious and the location was convenient to the major attractions
walkerbility
Amazing stay and very friendly staff with clean rooms
I have enjoyed staying at the Accra City Hotel
Friendly, nice rooms, good food, good service. Biggest negative point: they don’t get the pool finished since years
Great place to be , staff were great I enjoyed my stay @accra city Hotel I will definitely be back Kudos to all the staff members
loved it
late check in and an early departure but it was a welcoming time at accra city hotel
I love the friendly tennis coach, the bar tender was nice, and the food was delicious especially the brunch, but they need to change it up every day. I like that you can get food, drinks, and outdoor patio relaxation. The pool was not available. Security was valuable. The front desk needs to be more professional, friendlier, and follow protocol. I will go back most likely because the prices are affordable! Also, you should never see mold and mildew in hotel showers.
It was amazing… the staff are very friendly.
Customer service is a bit low. I think the staff needs some customer service training especially towards locals. Had a faulty and noise bed in room 401 which is quite obvious to anyone who enters the room. Which means- House keeping is definitely aware but unperturbed.
The hotel met all my expectations for my short work trip
It was an excellent stay
Surpassed expectations.
This was my first visit to the Accra City Hotel since it left the previous Group. I thought it would be difficult for the Accra City Hotel to match the good standards of that previous group but in fact, the hotel team I encountered were so good, I believe they surpassed the previous quality and professionalism. My gentle challenge would be more training for (some) of the restaurant and bar staff. This challenge centres on customer care and knowledge of what is available on menus. However, the middle management were very focussed and rectified some things that could have gone wrong. The star member for me is Ms. Doris, who averted a couple of potential disappointments with the restaurant staff. Well done Accra City Hotel.
Perfect
It was so good. I didn’t have any problems onsite
Good Customer Service
Warm customer service - oriented staff and close proximity to areas of interests.
I have used this in the past and at best was good location and staff were very good interns of service. This hotel has lost it completely. You wait an hour and half for a porter , room service takes forever, bathrooms are terrible sewage will not drain, buffet breakfast is ok about the only good thing. I will never use or recommend this hotel. I told the front office that this hotel is going down fast.
Misleading room advertising
It's not advertised that the pool is closed for renovation, which was a let down to find out after check-in. The room shown at booking is apparently not the room you get - the rooms advertised here are superior rooms and what you're booking is a basic room. Again, a let down to find out at check-in. One of the hotel receptionists even said I'm not the first person to bring this up so i'm not sure why the rooms are still being falsely advertised. My room did not look like a room in a 4 star hotel at all, with popcorn concrete walls and weird grey prison-like doors to the bathroom, toilet and bedroom area. I do appreciate the COVID measures being taken, with handwashing and temperature checks before entry. The hotel staff was very nice and did their best to accommodate me any time there was an issue.
It is the only hotel I have stayed in that has adequate hot water. And the people and staff were amazing. and the breakfast is delicious and so is the cappuccino.
Comfortable and practical. Great service personnel
The gym was well equipped for personal work-outs. While the swimming pool was being renovated, an alternative arrangement was made for use of a nearby pool for guests. Hotel was charging twice the price for use of airport shuttle compared to Expedia advertised pric Hotel seems to prioritize profit to the detriment of customer satisfaction. For instance, it was impossible to defer a booked breakfast on one day for another day.
Good location. Safe. The rooms are basic but have tea and coffee plus an iron and board which is helpful for business travellers
Excellent staff! Especially the breakfast team. They staff made my stay very pleasing and the morning cappuccino was excellent.
I left soon after checking in because the property was filthy.
Close proximity to the Movenpick hotel where I was attending a conference.
Customer service is very limited, staff is not train and not proactive They might have a nice picture with the pool but the pool is empty
Loved every aspect of it‼️ It’s near the airport Staff extremely friendly and helpful Buffet Breakfast absolutely lovely.💕
The staff are without a doubt the biggest strength of this hotel.
This hotel use to be good but is going down fast the floors are dirty the rooms are very untidy. The food is very very bad not happy
dont go there
its an old hotel, with low standards and it's not THAT cheap. mattresses and pillows are brown and when i mentioned that, front desk said rooms "were renovated" recently. would NOT recommend.
Pool not available because of renovation. Only one operating elevator. Shuttle service schedule not flexible Dining facility too pricey.
I stayed at this hotel in Feb 2019, just 6 months ago. The pool was out in Feb and it’s still out!! Only one lift was working and I often had to push the doors shut to get it to move. I found the food a bit expensive although tasty, I really enjoyed breakfast and it’s variety. The staff we’re helpful, especially Dinah Newton who found a hairdressers for me and advised where the nearest pharmacy was so I could get my malaria tablets which I forget to bring along. In Feb there was a free internet phone system to call London but that’s been removed by the provider, the airport shuttle now charges but it’s a nominal fee so I didn’t mind. Finally the hotel doesn’t accept USA dollars older than 2008, so check your notes. USA dollars have the date on them, who knew???? Yes, I would stay there again as it’s quite central so a good base to walk/travel from 😊
Time to Step it up!
Van driver and waiters were great. The food was great but there should have been a better economical option for one who didn't want to stuff himself on the all you can eat buffet. I paid almost as much for a fruit bowl and coffee as my son paid for the buffet. The only costly options was the kid's meal. But the Front Desk Team were not very friendly nor helpful. Vera, if she wants to stay in the hospitality industry needs to study the word hospitable. Customer service means being nice to customers and sometimes going over and above to assist. In addition to her attitude when I questioned the condition of the room, when I needed help solving a air plane reservation she did absolutely nothing other than to point towards a computer. If she was busy all she had to do was to say, "Please give me a minute". Unless you want to change your name again Novotel>Accra City, you are going to have to do more at capital investment in the building and personnel
Clean environment and pleasant staff. There ought to have been more sockets for electricity
The sheets were off white instead of white and there were some random stains on the carpet. The light in the toilet went out the first night and the hot water stopped running after the first day. Staff did not seem particularly friendly or helpful. Check-in process took very long and required going back to chase at the counter.
AWESOME
Very nice hotel , staff was nice and friendly. . Great experience.
It was nice. The meals was perfect and the staffs were friendly
The service from the staff was excellent, breakfast is excellent - lots of choice and it is open for a very good length of time.... 6am -10am on weekdays and till 11am on weekends. The hotel is quite old though compared to Movempick and Kempinski for example which are newer hotels however the room I stayed in was comfortable. I do think the Hotel needs to upgrade its decor soon to compete with some of the newer hotels Having said that, I would consider staying here again. Good location and good value for money

Nice hotel, good service and good value
Nice hotel, good service and good value in central Accra.
Very good value for money
I was very happy with my stay. I had the executive room and it was spacious and clean. The Wi-Fi was strong and water pressure excellent. The food in the restaurant was very good. I will certainly stay here on my next visit to Accra
We enjoyed a wonderful stay! Breakfast and staff were amazing!
Well. I stayed here in 2017 and enjoyed my stay. This time was just ok. I’m sure I’m not the only person a little disappointed in the overall stay. Walk into the dining area, look at the carpet, the chairs, the carts the food is setting on for breakfast? Watch as the staff, plays on their phones as you wait for coffee? My wife was actually upset with the gossip from a few women staff members as we went to be seated. She speaks the local language and evidently the staff wasn’t aware. The breakfast grill option was very good , but the meats and other options were not desirable. The juice was a disappointment, I notice a change in management at the restaurant which may be the issue. I would suggest a total remolding of the restaurant which may be coming by all the construction work going on. I really like the staff at the reception and managers at the front desk. Cleaning workers were great. I really don’t know how to rate Accra City right now, some things were great but some not so great. I had excellent help when I had to leave due to family emergency. So some parts are what I grew to expect and others not so much. If it was my hotel I would start with the restaurant. Total remodel , then some training for the breakfast staff. A better selection of breakfast meat. Some fresh juices including water bottles . A rethink of the breakfast area all together and hold the staff accountable for phone usage while customers wait.
The staff are courteous and professional. They rooms and clean and foods are very good
when i first arrived at the hotel i like how the men are there to greet you at the door and getting the luggage check in was a breeze and doing the money exchange was a breeze as well the only problem that i didnt like even though they took care of it was how the room i got was allowed a max of 2 adults but they still wanted you to pay for the 2nd adult in the room and they try to charge for shuttle services to and from the hotel to the airport when it clearly say free shuttle transportation to and from hotel to airport and airport to hotel. i would just say when booking thur a 3rd party like orbitz to please try and get in contact with the property to make sure they do not charge extra for things that should be included
Breakfast was very nice, though the juice selections and breakfast meats could be improved. The made to order option is exceptional. The breakfast dining room is 5 star, setting, tables and staff all were very good. Unfortunately major pool construction was underway, but the option of movenpick ambassador hotel pool is one of the best I have seen. Again unfortunately the elevators were not performing as expected with only one working during our stay. Hot water was also an issue for the first 3 days, it was barely warm, then the 4th day it was fixed. We really like this hotel over all with the staff being one of the best in the world, and I have traveled extensively throughout Europe, United States and the Caribbean.
Great food
Great food. Simply superb
Fantastic service
Very neat facility, friendly staff and I loved the breakfast
I was not completely satisfied with the room particularly the shower controls.
Great staff
Great staff all around. The team at front desk, restaurant and bar were really kind and helpful. Always greeted me with a smile a prompt assistance.
Everything was great! The only thing was that the food was quite pricey but otherwise I was very happy with the rooms, staff, service, etc.
The entire hotel is dated and in dire need of major renovation. There was a woman’s bra in the bathroom when I checked in. No flat sheets on the mattress, just the fitted sheet and the duvet. Just not what I expected for a “4-star” hotel. Manager Dinah was nice enough to upgrade me to a bigger room. Still was inconvenient. Will never stay here again.
The hotel buffet was too expensive, but otherwise the hotel was pretty good for Accra. The pool was nice, and quiet. And the staff were very helpful.
The swimming pool is really huge. The location is also very central to the city.
Excellent staff but all towels must be updated since most are too old.
Nice hotel overall
Clean hotel. Respectful staff. Close to almost everything you can need.
Good Comfortable Stay
I often stay at the Accra City Hotel when I visit Accra. It is an oasis in the midst of the hustle, bustle and heat of Accra Mary at the Front desk is just amazing and very helpful. Billings at the Bar does a great job of looking after his guests. My room on the 5th Fl was very comfortable and just right. The Wifi was great and I enjoyed my stay. The Breakfast at Accra City is very good and caters to all tastes. Lots of Fresh fruit and an abundance of dishes to select from. The meals at this hotel are great - one can opt for buffet again with a wide variety of dishes to pick up including many good starters and desserts If one prefers the Ala Carte option, here again is an amazing selection of dishes. I liked the Piri Piri prawns The hotel offers airport shuttles as well and during the evening, there is always some entertainment in the bar / lounge area. Overall a good stay !
I’ve stayed at a few locations in Ghana and this was by far my best experience ! Staff are super friendly and accommodating, rooms are clean and the amenities are exactly what you would expect. If I ever return to Ghana I would come back in a heart beat
Rooms were decently clean but food variety specially for room service needs to be updated. Not much to choose from. On my last day, I encountered a staff who needs much training in Customer Service. He didn’t have a name tag and didn’t want to waste time interacting as I was on my way to the airport.

Great location and dining
