Good hotel
Lovely hotel in the centre of Vigo. Unfortunately the door to the balcony leaked due to the torrential rain we experienced one night. The bar was not open during our 3 night stay. Vigo is very, very hilly.
Convenient
Excellent location. Great staff can call a Cab at any hour. Good breakfast option on site.
Good location great view of water from room nice breakfast staff friendly and helpful only problem not enough outlets in the room
Amazing Waterfront Gem in Vigo
Front desk staff, specifically Isabel, was out of this world friendly and helpful. Beautiful design. Loved the room layout and bathroom.
Excellent service and staff. Great location.
Nice place, friendly staff. Right in front of the port. No cafeteria or restaurant service weekends, only breakfast and room minibar. Hart to find a nice restaurant close to Hotel, something rare in Galicia
Location was perfect
I stayed here while traveling on business from the US. They were very friendly and accommodating to me.
Beautiful hotel and great price/quality ratio. The only problem we had was parking. The hotel does not offer parking or a valet to attend to the car. The hotel recommended a parking lot but it was too far walking for us (seniors) and we had to park across the street where the price was high (30 euros just overnight). Other than that, everything was very nice. Room, staff, food, drinks, etc
Marriott in Vigo
Excellent hotel, especially for the price. The hotel does not have a parking however there was one just across the street, very convenient, but very expensive. 30 euros overnight (!!)
Very friendly & helpful staff, lovely room with a great view of the water, close to tons of restaurants and shops
Nice place and good location. Parking is extra and several blocks away. No issues, would stay here again.
..
Night in Vigo …. Pre-Camino
Our stay was great… Better than expected. Beautiful hotel. Super clean. Fantastically well located.
Beautiful Hotel
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, very clean, and comfortable bed. Off- site, paid parking isn't ideal, but that's the norm.
Great Hotel in Vigo!
Excellent hotel great location and facilities
We only stayed one night but was very nice hotel and easy walk to everything. We were there at the start of the Christmas festival which was good and bad. Good because the hotel is next to the festival, but also bad being that close if you want to get some sleep, get an inside room. Overall hotel is great, staff was very nice and helpful. Room was nicely appointed, bed was comfortable, big tub in the bathroom if you need to soak. Would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel , good place in town , employees very friendly and hotel is fancy.
not good check in experience. ............ . ..... ......
Valid for money
Located by the harbour. Comfy bed. In room coffee free of charge. Breakfast good.
Nice hotel but overpriced breakfast at 15 euros each so we passed.
Need to train their staff urgently. Very rude and ineddicient. Almost zero guest services such as restaurant, room service, bell boy, assistance with cars. Great location. Could be a great hotel but the human factor lets it down.
Top Marks to Palacio Universal
Good hotel near docks / marina. Good bedroom with balcony with sea view. Very helpful English speaking staff. Very good breakfast, continental style. Would be delighted to stay there again if in the area.
great location, beautiful room, view and staff.
it was great. thanks for all your help!
Close of old town, easy to walk to it, near of restaurant, Bar , shopping area
Bad hotel in VIGO dont do it
there was a wall blocking the lookout. We tried to change room but they thought it will be trouble with them having to clean the room again. The bet was not great. It is a hotel that is very overpriced.
Stayed here for 2 weeks while in Vigo on business. Clean, comfortable rooms in a good location near waterfront and old city. Breakfast was good and typical of anything I’ve had at European hotels (varied continental options). Definitely recommended for a stay in Vigo.
An Oasis of Elegance in Vigo
From the moment you walk in, you know you are in a most special place. Elegant, sophisticated, and with a staff that anticipates your every need. We travel throughout the world, we enjoyed Vigo, and shall return. Why? So we can spend a few more days at this wonderful hotel. We had memorable experiences here, and we shall have more.
Simple hotel trying to be a Marriott
Nothing special about this hotel on the contrary room very basic quite pricey for what is offered Not a good deal at all. Small room with no Marriott personality.
Good quality central hotel
The staff were always helpful and the room clean and well presented. We had a meal one night and it was a good quality meal, served by courteous staff, and in the main dining room. We slept well on superb beds and even though it was near the front we didn't hear the noise past ten o clock at night. Conveniently located and not too far from the two railway connections we could travel easily to Ponteverde, Santiago and A Coruna. It was also near the old town and located on the tourist bus route. All in all a hotel with an excellent location, good quality food and staff, and comfortable rooms, well kept. Highly recommend this.
Convenient location
Staff is friendly and room is clean. Very convenient to restaurants & shops.
Nice hotel, very good location.
The hotel location was very good, in the city centre. Our room was OK, but felt a bit clogged as there was only an small window in the roof facing other buildings. We were on the top floor which was an extension of the original building, the windows in other floors looked more pleasant. Parking available for 13€/24 hours. Remember to remove the car arial before as the parking system damages it. We managed to get it replaced.
Relaxed and calm
Great location and service.
Fabulous service. Clean modern rooms. 3 unusual items: The shower gets he floor wet despite adjusting the shower head and matt, which could be a safety issue; the comforter is completely wrapped in a sheet, which is nice, but there is no top sheet to provide layers; it was stuffy but the staff fixed the temperature, we couldn't do it ourselves. That said they were very accommodating and gracious with small requests.
The hotel was clean and centrally located. The rooms need coffee pot in room. It has the basics and is close to restaurants and old city.
Arrived Sunday evening and no food available - not even a bar snack as the bar was closed. This is Spain so no restaurants open until 8.00pm and I planned to be in bed by then after getting up rather early to make the journey.
perfect, actually
Wonderful family trip
Very nice Hotel, helpful staff, good breakfast, good location right at the harbor, had a good time
Weekend in Vigo
Right on harbour front and I had a sea view room with small balcony. Very stylish hotel with large rooms nicely decorated and handy for old town, ferries to nearby islands, bars and restaurants. Plus only15 mins walk to railway stations (or c5 Euros in a cab) and 20 mins in cab to airport (c20-25 Euros)
Short Break
Ideal location for a short break, easy access to the Old Town, restaurants, ferry terminal and tourist information. Very comfortable rooms with pleasant decor and nice view. The hotel staff were very professional and helpful at all times
No on site parking in city center. Good for walking around the area. Beds not very comfortable more like camping cots
Good hotel ...
The AC Hotel Palazio is a decent hotel - the building is fully modernised internally but has kept its 19th/early 20th Century facade. I paid about 60 Euro/night for a room during the week and about 50 at the weekend. My room had a huge king size bed with great linen. No bath but a walk in shower - it was fab ...loads of hot water and good pressure. The room and bathroom both had wooden floors which is typical of the continent. I stayed on the first floor at the front corner of the hotel above the restaurant. It could get quite noisy from below with the scraping of the chairs on the stone floor. In addition outside street noise was easily heard - maybe not so much if you were a floor up or not on the front. Excellent breakfast ...Continental style obviously but a huge spread - great coffee machine and a decent toaster. breakfast was open for a lengthy 3hr during the week (7am-10am) ....and a even better 4hrs at the weekend - until 11am. This is something all hotels should think about. Residents seemed to be mostly business orientated but with the occasional couple or family.
Fine hotel overlooking the yacht club
Conveniently located in the central business area, on the promenade across from the Yacht Club, the hotel is historic on the exterior with thoroughly renovated, luxe modern rooms. An excellent value through Expedia. Breakfast would have been pricey but it was fun to get pastries from nearby bakeries/markets. Note, the double/king bed is two twins pushed together.
Very inpressed
Great breakfast. Very comfortabke room. Light blocked out by shades and very quiet
An expensive over rated hotel
The staff in this hotel were unfriendly. The hotel room, which was supposed to be a double room was cramped. The bathroom was lovely but took up about as much room as the living area. The ocean view I paid for could only be seen from the balcony. The buffet breakfast was nowhere as good as we've had elsewhere, such as Melia Hitol in ACoruna which for a similar price was much better value for money. And unlike the Melia Maria Pita we had to pay 14 pound each for breakfast. A rip off.
Very Good Hotel in Vigo,Spain
Our stay was excellent. The staff in this Hotel was excellent, especially Sara at the front desk. She was very helpful with directions and information. He spoke English very well. She greeted us with a big smile and a welcome hello. I wish that everyone in other Hotels would be as friendly and efficient as Sara .
Great rooms, breakfast and location.
The hotel is in front of the Pier, where the boats leave to Ons and Cies, the beautiful Islands in front of Vigo. My room had a nice view of the sea. The rooms are very charming with a modern decoration, which I liked very much. The breakfast is greeeeat, just check while booking if you've marked it already (I forgot to and had to pay the breakfast extra). Nearby is the historical town of Vigo, which is very charming, people are extremely friendly and, at least right now (May), the town is not overloaded with tourists. What I also like about Vigo is that the town is very authentic with real shops (not chains). People are nice and the food amazing with great prices! Love it here!
Great accomodations
Well located, rooms very comfortable and quiet. Well located, with shops, restaurants all around. Excellent service from all staff.
Those Little Touches
The bedside reading lights didn't work in the first room I had. The Balcony door handle broke and I couldn't lock the door or keep out the street noise. The air conditioning controller made it too hot or too cold In both rooms. The in room WiFi wasn't free but cost a sizeable amount of money and was only valid for 24hrs per payment - no good if you are out of the room all day - rather than a per hours used plan. The second room patio door would not close properly due to the locks being misaligned. The personnel of the hotel were excellent and the breakfast buffet was very good. The location was excellent and the rooms were very clean.
good location
good
Quick visit
Nice location near the port -easy to get into old town. Beautiful walk to main park in center of the city. Room was nice as was the balcony, but the ac did not work very well and the room got very hot and stuffy overnight. Parking is a bit expensive and is not connected to the hotel.
Excellent time.
Beautifully renovated room
A simple overnight in Galacia's most populated city.
Amazing
Beautifull design hotel with a gorgeous view of harbor steps from the ferry to Cies Island with a scrumptious breakfast and very friendly service.
Great Hotel
lovely hotel, good location and friendly staff, would recommend
Right on the waterfront, close to the old town
An excellent 4-star hotel right on the waterfront. I would not recommend taking a bus from the airport if arriving at night - unless you have a really good map and don't mind lugging your bags up and down the winding streets of hilly Vigo. A taxi costs E22 and takes about 15 minutes. My Superior Room was very spacious, with free mini-bar, free WiFi access in the AC Lounge (but not in the room), free coffee in the AC Lounge. The staff are unusually helpful with local information. The cold breakfast is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The bread was bland - not crisp baguettes like you can get in Spain (not only France makes good bread). Lots of shops and places to eat close by.
VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE HOTEL
HOTEL WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT...IF I HAD TO FAULT IT I FOUND THE BUFFET BREAKFAST QUIET POOR FOR €14 AND THERE WAS NO IRON IN THE BEDROOMS. I ALSO WOULD HAVE LIKE WIRELESS BROADBAND IN THE ROOMS THAT I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR.
AC Palacio, Vigo is top notch
Superb hotel in an excellent location. Classic looking building on the outside and very modern on the inside. The rooms even had a free mini-bar. Buffet breakfast was good too. Staff were helpful. Only downside and that was minor was the proximity of a noisy nightclub but the disturbance was only minor.
Problems that I experienced
For the first three nights I had no telephone in my room my husband was trying to call me and the phone was out of service fro three days finally the had to change my room. Unacceptable for a Marriott hotel.
Hotel AC Palacio Universal
It was a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The staff were very helpful and courteous. It was very clean and well equipped and we were in the centre of everything we wanted to see. We like the beach life and buses ran frequently to a from Samil beach. We would definitely stay again and would recommend the Hotel.
Good Hotel
Good hotel, does what you expect. Would stay there again.
Modern room
Very modern...with all the finishing touches. Free minibar. Good location for the port. Parking across the road (13 Euros a day). Need to get hotel to give ticket.
great hotel
we loved our room and location of hotel. great restuarants and sightseeing.breakfeast at hotel pricey and not great, nice places close by for morning coffee and sweets
fabulous hotel
hotel was spot on ,right next to harbour .20 minutes from airport, bus only cost 6 euros for 5 of us, dropped us off 200 yard from hotel . rooms are very modern ,free minibar all soft drinks and beers and water , fully airconditioned rooms .. at night after 12 free tea and coffee and biscuits at the bar till 7 am ...breakfast was on offer at 6.5 euros full continental with bacon and fried and scrambled eggs, on request at no extra charge .. all staff excellent ,......best hotel been in for the money booked with hotels .com
Impressive
An older hotel that has been completely refurbished. Modern facilities in first class condition. While we were there they still had half price light breakfasts that more than met our needs and free in room bar fridge, enough to satisfy initial thirst, only one beer topped up for second day though and soft drinks. Conveniently located to a large number of street side cafes, restaurants and bars. Yacht Club and ferry services just across the road. Market type street stalls nearby selling reasonable quality merchandise. Free wireless Internet in lobby lounge. We had a low floor corner room that picked up a bit of street noise but it did not bother us. Our daughter and family had previously stayed higher up on the other side and did not notice any noise. Highly recommend for business or leisure. Slight mix up in our booking, we booked and pre paid for two consecutive nights at different times due to a change in plans, even though explained at check in, did not flow through to their computer system, however was quickly resolved at check out.
Not the best experience
Got a room with the word shower experience I ever had, even comparing with stays in multiple locations in Africa etc. telling staff about it, message was just - “nothing we can do, water pressure is as it is” without them actually knowing anything. After taking a shower you did not feel like you had a shower, you struggled to have water all over you! Took 2 days for them to acknowledge it and moved me to different room. Not even a small compensation or anything. This is not at all what you would expect from a hotel of this standard, or expected standard! Very disappointing.
Great Hotel at the very Harbor of Vigo
Correcto
Good
Good
Extrañando a Vigo
Great except the light in the bathroom!
Location super, stuff very helpfull but the light in the bathroom is really bad! To dark and there is no additional Make up mirror which I really expected in this kind of hotel. The coffeemmaker in the room was great and the breakfast had everything we needed! The bed was very comfy😀
AC Hotel Palacio Universal by Marriott | Hotel in Vigo | Travala.com
AC hotel in Vigo is in its usual standard. Spacious rooms, extremely well equipped, excellent service
