Be careful when booking on hotels.com
The hotel was great and everything but unfortunately hotels.com and expedia.com suck because they do not guarantee you the room that you pick which was a king size bed so we ended up getting two doubles or Queens which was cool because I sweat one bed being really f****** hot one night and just moved to the next and then they gave Valley parking to us for free to make up for it so I would say it wasn't too horrible the hotel is very nice and the people that work here too
I didn’t like the $40.00 surprise parking charge.
Great staff, clean and spacious rooms in the best area!
The funniest part of the stay was when the guy doing Valet parking came in and told us he didnt know how to drive standard .Can we park our car. Friendly staff. Very clean rooms.
This is one of my favorite hotels ever
Everything was exceptional! Courteous and knowledgeable staff, clean and smart accommodations, and an excellent location.
Great location
Very comfortable hotel located right near the water.
Perfect
From checking in with Sebastian to 2 breakfasts with Chrissy perfection
Great location, super design and unique modern design in the middle of a traditional city.👍
Very nice hotel
This hotel was amazing. If there was any suggestion, it would be to revamp the breakfast format but there are plenty of options in the surrounding area so no biggy.
If planning to stay plan expense for parking. Parking at hotel or surrounding pretty pricey... plan accordingly
Breakfast Buffet was limited with meat choices.
Perfect weekend stay
Awesome location, comfortable rooms, nice shower and lots of space to store your things in the room and bathroom. Lovely bar downstairs. Will definitely be back
Room was spacious and clean. 12 pm checkout is great. Staff were all friendly and helpful. plan on Valet parking, as the parking in private lots is pricey.
Very pleasant Amazing room Personable and accommodating staff
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It’s super convenient and walkable to all of the places in Old Port. My only critique is I wish that the airport shuttle was aligned with the flight times at the airport. I had to Uber both ways because the shuttle was not in operation.
Holiday Overnight Success.
Super easy check in. Front desk was very accommodating when I needed new room keys. Everything was clean, efficient and friendly.
Great hotel. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The valet parking super easy. Nice large and modern fitness area. Big lively bar area. Walkable to everything in the Old Port. Highly recommend.
Early check in front desk was helpful and kind.
Dog friendly hotel. The location is perfect to walk to many restaurants and shops. Very friendly staff and nice hotel overall.
Polar Express Weekend
The room was great, a couple issues, the bathroom sink did not drain well & the ceiling shower head only about half of the holes let water out. I couldn't find a pillow combination that worked for me, but that is more personal than a hotel issue. So convenient to the Narrow Gauge RR for the Polar Express. Not a bad walk to restaurants. Wish the hotel had a restaurant or a bar open earlier in the day.
Great stay, clean, confortable room and great service
Great location
My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights while exploring Portland, Maine. For the most part, our experience was enjoyable. The room was spacious and well-maintained, and the lobby and common areas had a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Initially, we felt the hotel deserved a 5-star rating. Unfortunately, an incident on our second night significantly impacted our perception. After a pleasant evening out, we returned to the hotel to unwind. My 6-year-old son noticed the snack area near the front desk and was excited to see his favorite treat—vanilla Häagen-Dazs ice cream. We purchased it for him and went back to our room. When he opened it, he complained that it was too hard, so he began chipping away at it with his spoon. At first, I assumed it was just frozen solid. However, moments later, he began gagging and said, “It doesn’t taste good.” This was surprising, as he loves vanilla ice cream and rarely complains about it. Curious, I tasted it myself and was shocked to find that it was spoiled. The flavor and texture made it clear that the ice cream had thawed and refrozen at some point, compromising its quality. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done. My son’s stomach reacted poorly to the spoiled ice cream, and he suffered from diarrhea throughout the night. This unexpected situation cut our trip short, as we decided to head home to ensure he received proper care.
Front desk staff was amazing!
Staff was great and room was beautiful
The hotel is immaculate, cozy, and close to all restaurants and shops within walking distance. The breakfast at the hotel is amazing!!!
EXCELLENT value!! Will definitely be back. Super Modern Cool Hotel with very friendly staff, nice amenities and you can not beat the parking or location!
Very nice room with water views. Walkable to shopping and dining. Great place to stay in Portland.
The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast buffet provided a large array of tempting choices. The gym was well equipped but featured loud music making the facility unpleasant to use. The location couldn't be better for exploring dining, shopping and sightseeing options.
Terrific location and central to Old Port
Terrific location and loved our view of the water and cruise ships. We had booked the day before as we were arriving at 2am. Despite a 1am text saying our room was ready (we preconformed online our arrival time) there was no one at reception. A manager went searching in lieu of checking us in himself. I saw him come out of the women's rr and then shortly a woman showed up who was clearly not a happy camper. (Assuming he opened the door and called in to find her.) She presented as rather short and rude; we asked about where some things were and she very vaguely gestured. Didn't let us know where elevators were. No dialog really. We found out near end of stay that there was coffee and breakfast available on first floor. I am sure it was an anomaly. We also had one interaction where we saw a cleaning person who insisted on cleaning room despite us saying we were leaving in a few minutes. She then straightened the sheets but did not provide clean sheets and replenished towels. No sweeping or other cleaning appeared to have been done during our stay. Despite these moments we would certainly stay here again and try to get the same view room on the six floor.
Stay mainly at marriotts for leisure and business and this one was centrally located to all the great dining options around downtown Portland. Would stay again.
Great location excellent staff
Perfection. Mind you, I was not paying $600/night in summertime. But for under $300 off-season, it was a great deal. Gorgeous hotel. We were just in and out for a jazz concert, but the breakfast and the bar looked great. $25/24hr parking right across the street at the ferry landing. (Or $40 for valet, or free on street after 6pm).
The room design is strange either bathroom mirror in a strange position. - bad lighting - shower leaked into the toilet area because the showers door does not close and the shower head is aimed toward the edge of the shower door! Looks like everything is designed to have square lines instead of functional- location good free coffee but $18 for all or nothing breakfast
Location was ideal. Rooms were spacious and modern. Hotel staff were great!
I reserved a King room but there were none left when we got there. There was no room service or restaurant in this upscale hotel. That was a big disappointment. When I made the reservation I paid extra to include valet parking and breakfast. They still charged us. I asked about it and they rebated the valet but not the breakfast. Won't be going back there are plenty of other places that are better.
Great location. Rooms and hotel were nicely appointed and very clean!
Staff were awesome friendly and very helpful.
The shuttle service was exceptional
Great stay!
Cleanliness
Perfect location to great restaurants and close to the water
.
Happy
Great stay! Amazing breakfast. Lovely staff. Good location.
Someone should pick up the phone and talk with me!
So my trip never got booked and then I tried to book the same trip and was denied! So how would you feel?
Great location, clean rooms, very friendly and professional staff.
Nice property. Well kept
We liked this hotel for a 4th of July getaway! However, the beds were hard and the rooms on the smaller side. Also a little too modern for my liking. However, location is great, lobby and bar were very nice! Brendan at the bar was awesome!
Wonderful breakfast but not complementary. I wish somebody would’ve told me it was 18.99 a person before just eating apple and a yogurt. Everything they had out was amazing and the menu looked great, but I thought what was available in the room was part of the expense of staying at the hotel. The food was very fresh and delightful.
Walking distance to a lot of shops & eateries
I booked a Deluxe Room, 1 King Bed with Sofa bed, City View. When I checked-in, I was given a 2 Queen Bed. There was no acknowledgment of my original order from the front desk employee. There was no apology or explanation for the change in room type. They gave me a 2 Queen room in the hope that I forgot what type of room I actually booked. Given the cost of the hotel, I at least expected some honesty and transparency.
It was ok, I end through Expedia and didn’t get the room that I put in for however staff was nice. It wasn’t worth $600
The hotel is cool and modern. The place was swamped but the staff remained calm and professional.
The front desk staff was excellent, accommodating and FRIENDLY!!!!
Wonderful, very friendly staff.
When I landed, I received a voicemail stating that they had oversold their rooms and had to move us to their sister hotel. We had booked a view room and the room we where given was nowhere near as nice as the one we were planning on having at AC Hotel. We were told they would comp our hotel and breakfast (which was already included at the sister hotel) but we still were charged for the entire stay at the sister hotel. I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled.
AC hotels are clean and modern. I love Bonvoy Marriott for that. But I will be glad when the hotels go back to daily service. When I check in for a 2 (or even 4!) day stay and my room gets no attention, I wonder what I am being asked to tip for. And I really feel bad for the service staff because I’m sure this has led to a big reduction in tips.
Modern hotel
Nice modern hotel. Bed was great, room was quiet. Square toilet might be too modern for me but it worked fine. My only complaint is with parking costs in the city of Portland, ME. Ended up with valet at hotel because most lots were $50 a night.
Outstanding
Great!
Conveniently located , staff was friendly , and nice to have option for transportation included if need ride in town.
Only 1 set of elevators, the opposite side of the hotel from room. Everything else was good.
This hotel is beautiful and clean. The old port area is walkable but they have an amazing shuttle- that’s actually a GLS Mercedes that brings you anywhere. It’s in the description but know that parking is not included and you have to valet. If you don’t want to do valet, there’s a public lot nearby for $20/day.
I'd stay again nice and quiet friendly staff shuttle service was on point.
Nice stay
Had a great stay at this hotel.
Was very easy the checkin process and very nice room.
Modern and clean, top-notch service.
Modern and clean, had a nice partial ocean view from the bed. The bathroom was spotless with a nice large walk in shower complete with overhead rain shower head. Staff were attentive and courteous. Had a drink in the hotel lounge that actually was amazing. Then used the complementary transportation which was a nice Mercedes SUV and the driver was hilarious. We laughed all the way to and from dinner ! Great stay and stress free!
Abby at the front desk was absolutely wonderful! The hotel and room were super clean. The bed was comfortable I loved the location and ease of valet parking Unfortunately I would not stay here again because of the sliding glass barn door design. The door doesn’t slide all the way shut and there is a large open gap when the door is closed. I need my privacy while using the bathroom. It was a very uncomfortable experience as I was sharing a room with an acquaintance.
An excellent stay
The staff is GREAT!!
Wonderful experience
When we arrived early our room was not ready, however we were offered another room to check in early which was clean and nice. We had mentioned we just were married and only staying for night because friends recommended checking out Peaks Island , so we did. The reception desk gave us complimentary breakfast and we also received 2 seltzers and a candy upon arrival. We were extremely impressed by how they took care of us for only one night.
Incredibly friendly, accommodating and professional staff.
great
Excellent hotel and staff.
Wonderful staff! Everyone was top notch from the valet to the housekeeping staff to the front desk were wonderful!
Family Gathering
We stayed for a large family gathering in about five of the rooms in the hotel. Every staff person that we encountered went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Colleen in the front reception. Desk area was amazing and helping us get accommodations for my 86 year old mother. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and anyone that we needed some thing from wentout of their way to make sure we got it.
We had no power in our town due to a nor’easter. We stayed for 2 nights with our dogs and it was absolutely worth it!
Bring your mattress
Great location and overall the hotel is lovely, but these were some of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in.
Clean, modern, and great customer service
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are all polite and competent. I had a couple of minor issues with my room but when I raised these at check out they were resolved promptly and very reasonably. I am very happy with my stay and I commend this hotel highly. Thank you
Enjoyed our stay here very much - staff was so friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed having Randy drive us to a local pub for dinner and then being able to call him to pick us up!
it was easy to find. valet parking was reasonable and the shuttle service to bars around was amazing !
Great location. Good parking. Can walk to downtown in minutes. Lovely staff. Clean. Well run.
Great stay - very convenient location, walkable to great restaurants and shopping. Good bar though expensive drinks. Clean quiet facility. Only complaint was parking was expensive but we were able to park on the street since we were there Sat-Mon.
We have stayed here several times and are always very happy. They do a very nice job and we love the location.
Great place to stay !
Great location, great service, dog, friendly, and very convenient
Hotel has no parking. $38 valet or city parking are your only options. Room was ridiculously expensive considering how filthy it is. Trash can wasn't emptied, floor is dirty and covered in sand, walls have numerous marks and scratches... The couch is broken and bed is very uncomfortable. Overall a complete waste of $500 for one night. Would have been better off at a Motel 6.
A nice hotel with great services.
Excellent staff overall. However, housekeeping was not up to par. We were promised housekeeping service after first night. Never got it. When I complained, we received new towels only and a trash bag for us to empty trash. When we did get housekeeping, only got new towels and trash emptied. Floor was dirty. Dirty glasses not replaced. Very disappointing.
great location especially to ferry and sunrise and sunset cruises. valet pkg and free shuttle service 3-11 pm within 1.5 mile radius so convenient! clean a decent gym with cardio machines and free weights. nice waterfront lounge and bar. walking distance to many restaurants!
Some of the reception employees does not reply to your on good morning or good evening.
We stayed overnight ahead of a medical appointment in Portland the next day. The valet parking was super convenient. The staff also quickly supplied a wheelchair to make it easy to access the property. We were able to order drinks at the on-site restaurant and bring them up to our room which was nice. We also could order Door Dash for dinner in our room. When it was time to leave they helped us carry our luggage out to our car from the room. It was all very helpful at a stressful time and we appreciated the service. The room is also beautiful, clean and modern.
The hotel and staff were great but there are issues with the surrounding area. Walking from the hotel to restaurants and venues in the area we encountered many homeless that were clearly intoxicated camping in the doorways of closed businesses. We crossed to the other side of the street upon hearing the loud cursing and seeing trash, drug use and vomit on the sidewalk. Past visits to the Old Port in years past was a much better experience. Not sure what has happened but I feel bad for the businesses that are working hard to attract and keep customers coming back.
Was nice.
We loved the beautiful view from the lobby/bar, and loved the convenience of location to all of the waterfront shopping and food.

This AC Hotel by Marriott was very nice. My husbnad and I were comfortable in our room. The staff was pleasant and courteous. We enjoyed our stay and have no complaints. Keep up the good work!
